We started with wings as an appetizer, followed by a gluten-free Jimmy Forager pizza (without onions) and a chicken parm. Everything was delicious, but one thing left a sour taste--an automatic 20% gratuity that we weren't informed about until after I had already paid. When I questioned it, they confirmed the charge, but it would have been nice to know upfront. Let's start with a perfectly sized & selections on the in room dining menu! Yes a place that still delivers to your room! I asked to switch one pasta type for another with the vodka sauce /sausage. It was not a hassle at all, I even got a "that sounds good", what a pleasure. I got the broccoli which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We made a reservation to be on the safe side considering the weather was nice and we figured people would come in droves. We were prepared with our CDC covid vaccine cards which they checked. The 5 stars are almost entirely for the view and venue. We did a birthday dinner around 6:15 on a Thursday, and it was almost like we got the entire rooftop to ourselves. They don't allow reservations on the rooftop generally (first come first serve), but I emailed Nick (called them first and directed me to an email) and he was able to reserve a couch for us. When we got there, we quickly claimed the other couch and it felt like we had a section just for us. Mira, the bartender, took good care of us. You order drinks and food with the bartender. Bar's at the rooftop, but since the restaurant is downstairs, the food was in takeout containers, which was fine, but felt lukewarm by the time it got to us. For 11 of us, we ordered calamari, house-made ricotta, and 5 pizzas (Roni, Margherita, Hot Italian, Jimmy Forager, and the Rooftop with proscuitto). Don't think I would get the calamari again if on rooftop, only because it was lukewarm, but otherwise all the food was fine. The sauce, the cheese and the crust is out of this world. The star of the show is the Hot Italian. No words to describe other than to just order it as a must. The roof too with the prosciutto is delicious. If you've been to Levante, you'll love Beebe's. If you've been to to Beebe's you'll love Levante. This is a review for the gluten free crust. DONT GET IT. Folks need to put in the effort if they want to offer GF. otherwise dont. They up charge $4 for this crust- which was rock hard- No flavor. It wasnt a cauliflower- not sure the base. after i scraped the toppings off to eat- the crust was a preformed- frozen disc - dense hard to chew crust. Located in LIC's Boro Hotel, Beebe's has been one of the more stellar pizza options in the hood. Opening a couple of years ago to some serious hype, they've managed to stay consistent in offering quality pizza (among other things) to the masses. The space is downright sexy. From a decor standpoint, they have done a great job with looking modern and contemporary which coincides with the theme of the hotel. It is so spacious here that there is plenty of room to accommodate small and large parties. The outdoor portion of the venue is equally impressive and is a perfect refuge for good weather days. On a pizza front, I think their thin crust is excellent. They come out a lot quicker than I imagined and are modest in portion. It might not wow a lot of thin crust lovers, but I think it's important to eat it in house. Depending on delivery times, this can really affect the quality of the pizza when it arrives at your door. Just keep that in mind. The initial sell for my patronage was the curly pepperoni, which at this point will sucker me into a lot of pizza tasting (#1). I ordered "The Roni" ($17) which is a true homage to a straight up pepperoni and has a meaty bite with each individual pepperoni. A surprise winner was the "Stracciatella" ($16) which very tasty, albeit a bit creamy to the bite. The "Hot Italian" ($18) might look like another pepperoni but dig a little deeper and one will find hot Italian sausage, some pickled chili, and a nice dousing of Mike's Hot Honey. The latter gives such dimension to a pizza that I could probably eat it on everything. Then there is the rest of the menu which has some really tasty pastas (I've enjoyed every single one, but especially the orecchiette), their signature burger ($19) which includes pat lafrieda, and a hell of a chicken parm ($24). They also serve a number of brunch options as well, which might make for a good weekend option for early risers not feeling like pizza or Italian. Their cocktail selection is a bit underrated; they might not have the shine of the pizza game but they would stand out at any other place. The Frida (tequila, cointreau, prickly pear, lime, agave) is lovely and the Mama Verde (mezcal, green chartreuse, maraschino liqueur) is very much something I could enjoy each night. There is also a number of sparkling wine / champagne options, as well as a limited selection of beer and rosé. I think the general hesitation for some might be the prices, which are probably a bit higher than what folks are used to. Surely the food is high quality, there is no doubt about that. I would say that the service could be a *smidge* more thorough given that this is a consistent theme in all of my visits, but given that they are a niche establishment with a fine product, I still give them a very big 5 star thumbs up. _____________ (#1) Never said it was a bad thing. First of all, both our waiter and the woman who was maybe the hostess or bartender were extremely nice, attentive and friendly. The food. The apps were absolutely amazing. We got the kale Cesar salad which was amazing, the mozzarella sticks, broccolini and marinated olives were all delicious. We got a Smokey pizza idk the name but everyone loved it. The margarita pizza was amazing. I'm not even a brick oven pizza lover but I could have eaten a whole one myself. The dinners weren't as delicious but still good. The pastas were delicious, we had a vodka sauce and the gnocchi. The chickens were only ok. We got chicken Milanese and parm. Thankfully it was a cooler quiet Saturday evening and social distancing was definitely in place for this very spacious venue. Business picked up in the evening around 9. Pizza selection is drool worthy- we ordered the Margherita, Jimmy forager, hot Italian, and rooftop. The meaty pizzas though highly anticipated were salty to me. The Rooftop ended up being my favorite. Our group had different rankings but overall I felt a bit underwhelmed by the pizza quality. It could've been just being outdoors and the temperature affecting the taste but these didn't really hit the spot. The indoor seating was set up very nice and the restaurant was not too busy when we arrived. They should do better job with signage on the front. We started with mozzarella sticks and wings. I thought the wings had great flavor and only a little kick. The mozzarella sticks were OK, but they put salt on them which I was not a fan of. The mozzarella sticks also came with vodka sauce, which was an interesting twist, but I thought the sauce was pretty delicious. We also ordered chicken Parm, pasta Pomodoro and a margarita pizza. All had incredible flavor and the chicken Parm was a gigantic serving. the margarita pizza was very, very delicious with a near perfect crust. This is definitely a hidden gem, located on the other side of LIC. My friend suggested we grab dinner from here and of course I said yes. This place is within a hotel, which was pretty cool. We came in and sat at the bar, happy hour is Monday - Friday 5-7pm I believe. The happy hour deals are pretty great $4 for beers and $9 for select cocktails. Some of the appetizers were on the happy hour menu as well! I was a bit worried because I didn't know how gluten free friendly they were. We sat at the bar and the manager was super nice, he informed me that they had gluten free pasta and they're working on a gluten free pizza dough! I was told if we make reservations and call ahead for the gluten free pizza, they would be able to accommodate! My friend and I ended up getting the spaghetti alla chiarra. The toppings were so good and the crust was perfect. We also ordered the meatball app with garlic bread and the chicken parm. The meatballs were good but the garlic bread was just ok.
