Solid pizza place with interesting toppings, crusts, and flavors!! I stumbled upon this place while in the area and enjoyed my quick lunch! The French onion fungi radiated the sweet and savoriness of the caramelized onion. The mushrooms kinda take a back seat on this one but it didn't matter cause the onions were delicious. The roasted basil leaves had a hint of herbacious-ness to the mixture. I appreciated the chewy but crunchy crust with a sesame forward flavor! The truffle ricotta slice featured a focaccia-type fluffy bread and really let the truffle and ricotta do the talking. Truffle flavors were prominent and tasty. The ricotta was smooth. I liked how it otherwise wasnt too cheesy or creamy so the focus on was the ricotta. I usually like more mushrooms but I think this ratio was appropriate and balanced. I just wish they had some black pepper to complement both slices. Staff were patient and polite in explaining their pizza toppings. They only have a handful of indoor seats but do have some tables outdoor. Interested in coming back to try their falafel pizza and their pesto when its back in season!

Service is great! Food is even better - Their vodka flambé was a creamier version of a vodka style sauce, it had a couple peas on it which really made it feel like a pasta sauce - their falafel pizza with the hot honey drizzle was unbelievable. I was skeptical ordering it but w o w! It was perfectly balanced with the sesame crust and white sauce base and falafel pieces - pesto: pretty good but I ate this last in my trio and the falafel was so dang good that this didn't live up as high. Still good though , the brown butter added a lot of depth Prices are pretty expensive for a relatively personal size pizza (3 pies + sauce sauces was around $75ish). But it's worth a go because of the unique flavors.

Long Island City vibes and a solid artisinal pizza spot go hand-in-hand. Who knew that Traze would fill a void long missing in the neighborhood. The space formerly occupied by LIC Corner Cafe is now Traze Pizza - while it may not be the baked goods that Annie used to make... the pizza makes up for it in all the best ways. Oh, and they have coffee and espresso, too, with oat milk from Califia Farms. I had the opportunity to try the Felix Special, one of their combo slices on a sesame seed crust topped with pepperoni and red onion. As Traze specializes in Grandma slices, this square cut slice comes in at $6 and was flavorful from edge-to-edge. I really enjoyed the tasty balance of rich pepperoni with the crunchiness of the red onion, and the addition of the sesame crust providing some extra character not typically found on most pizzas, yet it was well balanced. The staff behind the counter was helpful and friendly, and I hope to come back and try other slices soon,... and their coffees, too.

TRAZE - The home of the "Spicy Falafel Square Pie"! It's official! After many years of pop ups Traze has an official spot and we could not be happier. It's right of the G Train Court Square stop. You can smell the pizza before you see it. Nothing beats the smell of fresh pizza! There's a standing counter area by the window, for those looking for a quick bite. A couple small tables further in. The restaurant is warm and inviting. The staff is helpful and sweet! This place will be open early so you can snag a grandpa pie with some coffee to start your day. We came and enjoyed the "French Onion Fungi". I'm obsessed with caramelized onions and mushroom so this is a perfect pie for me. You can never go wrong with the classic Margherita. And Natalie (the mastermind, behind Traze) turned me on to the spicy honey on the falafel pie. My boyfriend and I can not get enough. Even "Felix" (Happybull Pizza) got a pie named after him. Natalie knows seasonal too, so I'm excited what other flavors will be in store for us. Can't wait to come back and try them all! A very well deserved congratulations to Natalie and her team at Traze!

I'm a sentimental sap when it comes to Traze. I was a fan during their nomadic pop-up era and today I got to check out their new brick-and-mortar establishment near Court Square in LIC. While they seem to have extended their range of offerings (breakfast slices! coffee and tea!), I had something more savory in mind. The pizza menu is straightforward: pies are 10" squares, and you can either add toppings or go for one of the signature "combos." I took the latter route and ordered the "Felix Special" ($23), a margherita grandma topped with pepperoni and red onion with a sesame seed crust. My companion and I chose to dine in, cozying up at a table in the back. The seating is fairly limited, though they have a standing counter, and there's a nice park across the street. People living nearby might just take their pie home; options abound. After about ten minutes, the pizza arrived at our table. Visually impressive, Traze is almost too beautiful to eat. Picking up a slice, I was impressed with how the crispy crust held up. From the first bite, I was in my happy place: bright and vibrant sauce dancing around stretchy fresh mozz, sweet and snappy onions melding with the mild pepperoni cups. The sesame seed crust augmented and elevated the flavor profile, and altogether created a succulent and sumptuous mouthfeel that I wished would never end. The price is about right for craft pizza of this quality, and remember, the quality is what you're after here. If you just want big Neapolitan pies, perhaps seek another purveyor. I'd say this is more akin vibe-wise to Ace's, though definitely lighter; less guilty, all pleasure. Definitely recommend for an enlightened experience. If you're going to MoMA PS1 or The Gutter or any of the other fine cultural destinations in the area, keep this place in mind if you happen to get peckish.

Pizza is pricey but amazing. Sausage slice was fantastic, but the star of the show is the Natty Dee's Falafel slice. A delicious and really unique slice! Will be back for more.

While that may rank as a relatively mid-tier title by NYC standards, as the neighborhood restaurant average is sadly and shockingly low, especially considering its location in the literally center Queens, this is nonetheless a very special neighborhood treasure, befitting it's stalwart status at now over 30 years of age. Classic Italian American with some New American flourishes, the place stays consistent and honors its tradition while simultaneously managing to keep things fresh and staying up with the times. The pizzas are well-executed and make great use of the gorgeous wood burning oven, but for me it's almost impossible to order anything else but my go-to order, one of the house specialties the classic Cavatelli with broccoli raab and some particularly pungent hot Italian sausage. A modern day classic in the cannon, finding decent versions around the city is tougher than one might imagine, particularly in my experiences in this borough. The version here, served like the rest of the offerings in an extremely generous portion that usually yields some delicious leftovers to take home, is a strong contender for the best in the borough title. Also of particular note is the exemplary super-thin and savory chicken parm, served in the previous era in various forms including with spaghetti and broccoli, as well as with risotto, currently served smothered with a spicy vodka sauce and paired with rigatoni. I've only recently became aquatinted with the rich and unctuous dry-aged burger, served simply and unadorned save for American and sharp raw union, on a classic and proper sesame seed bun, it's a stealth under-the radar competitor for the best burger in the hood nod with previous title-holder Dirty-Pierres. The expansive, two-room space, an ideal setting for the many private events and family gatherings that regularly occur here is aptly bright and inviting with the aforementioned pizza oven serving as its centerpiece. I generally sit at the bar which offers ample opportunity to converse with the top-notch staff, just as genial and affable as you would hope to find in such a longtime neighborhood institution, as well as the fellow patrons, who are, more often then not, you guessed it, longtime local resident regulars.

This is probably my third time here since moving to the area…read more I love how rustic this place feels. Service is always on point. The owner or manager always check on the tables. Food wise, how can you go wrong with great ingredients and good classic cooking? I was eating kosher for passover this time. I had the Branzino al forno. A whole grilled fish with potatoes and salad. It was incredible. Perfectly charred, meaty and delicious. The fish was so flavorful. The salad with the lemon on it was the perfect accompaniment. Will definitely get this again. I have also tried pasta here in the past. So good, you can tell its homemade. Salads are large and always good. Everyone should try this place.

For entrees we had some specials- pappardelle al guanciale and asparagus, fettuccine with shrimp and pesto, seafood stew (cacciucco for one), gnocchi with spicy sausage (Boscaiola), and a risotto ai fruitti di mare. I ate the pappardelle and tasted the others. Next time I'm getting the gnocchi which was nice and light - the way I like my gnocchi. We ended with tartufo. It was on the small side compared to other restaurants. It was our first time trying Tuscan Hills. We will be back.

Both items came out together like we asked and was far too much food for two. My first bite of the pizza was hot, crunchy, and delicious. I love fresh oven pizzas with a crispy bottom crust. The chefs did an amazing job cooking it just right. I also loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. It really elevated the pizza to another level. The crust was great all around with a slight oven char. Lastly the calzone took me by surprise as it had no sauce and was filled with ricotta cheese as opposed to mozzarella. It came with a small cup of hot marinara sauce for dipping/pouring. It was definitely an interesting calzone but don't think it was worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and Nick's and would highly recommend it. I do wish the pricing was a bit more fair when it came to full vs half pie toppings as well as the calzone.

My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years.
