Turns out this place was a few blocks from where we were staying so we thought we should swing over with our friends for NY pizza. I didn't see prices for slices (but maybe native NY'ers know you can order by the slice I saw a lot of people with slices only) so we ordered a whole "pie". They were very nice about letting us order something off menu (pepperoni and mushroom) and half sautéed veggies. You order at the counter and then wait for the pizza to be brought to you. It's a chill place with a couple of tables. The pizza was piping hot and I didn't even know I burned the roof of my mouth until after I was satiated from the pizza! The cheese pull on the pepperoni mushroom was great. The cheese was obviously fresh cuz of the pull without having to load on tons of cheese . It was very well balanced. The red sauce was sweet (is this a NY thing?) but I didn't mind it. If you want a pizza with great cheese pull. Go here! But you have to eat it while it's HOT. The sautéed veggies pizza was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly cuz I am not a veggie fan in general but it was good enough for me to enjoy eating the entire slice! Great pizza! Next time I want to try the grandma slice to see what the difference is from a regular slice. read more

I have been here several times! Had the cheese pizza and the mushroom and spinach pizza. Both types have been perfect. The cheese is good, doesn't hurt my stomach. The crust is delicious! The sauce is just right! The service is always respectful and courteous! Plenty of seating! read more

The atmosphere is cozy, the servers are friendly and the food is absolutely delicious.

We love Dante's! We have gotten these pies from them: grandmas, mushroom and plain. Sometimes we get the family specials and/or their ziti/penne vodka dishes. I sometimes do pickup or delivery. Either way service is always great. When we have eaten there the place is pretty cafeteria like with easy slide in seats for groups and great for anyone. read more

Overall not bad. I was really excited to try this place since I heard from a few people it was good. It's a cool old school place and it's a nice slice joint for the area but I wish the slice had more of a crunch and texture. The food: Grandma Slice- This was the best thing I had that day. I love Dante's. Hands down best plain slice in my opinion. Good size slices and tasty! They do specialty slices everyday and all of them are great. No frills dining on the inside, just some basic tables for a few people to sit, enjoy and head out on their way. All of the guys who work there are nice and doesn't take long to get service. read more

Went with a friend to see a movie and she took me here to get some pizza beforehand. Never been so I was a bit iffy cause umm, pizza. I'm VERY picky with my pizza. Ordered a slice with chicken and broccoli. Came to just under $5 which is a bit pricy but I mean, inflation. It was pretty good. I personally would have added a bit more chicken but that's probably just me being a fatty. I would go back to try more. Lots of flavor and it was very good. read more

Hands down my favorite pizza in the city. So so good any slices; the margarita and chicken vodka slices are my favorites

Just stopped by Austin Street Pizza and was quite disappointed with their NYC slice. Came here immediately after to get the kind of slice I was hoping for and it sort of did the trick. Let me be straight, this is not a destination for pizza that you travel for. However, for a neighbor joint in Forest Hills, it will have to do. The crust was crispy albeit a bit thick. The sauce was pretty tasty and there was plenty of cheese. I think Lillian's had the best plain slice in our area, maybe a bit too oily, but had consistently produced delicious pizza. Since ownership change, it's not what it was imo. Unfortunately, beggars can't be choosers. Forest Hills just does not have any more great pizzerias. read more

The employees couldn't be nicer and they provide great customer service. They are a rare restaurant that allows you to order delivery from them directly, no apps or service charges. Situated a block away from Cinemart Cinemas, this little corner pizza shop can stand to to toe with restaurants charging twice as much. Their chicken roll has just the right balance of cheese, sauce & chicken & comes with a little extra sauce on the side for dipping. Their Sicilian pie has perfectly crunchy crust & overall great consistency. They serve their food quite hot but it works. NYC has some local pizzerias that seem average at a glance but which actually serve excellent food. Dante's Pizza is clearly one of them. read more

Classic NY pizza spot and spot on for a good pie. Ordered a large 18" marg. pie and it was ready within 25 mins placing order via phone. Guys working here were courteous and efficient. Sauce is a bit sweeter like others have mentioned. Pie is a nice size, but $30 was a bit steep based off competition in the area and location. Definitely good, but will be less frequently visiting because Austin and Ascsan have the same sort of quality for roughly $21-$24 for the same kind of pie. read more

I ordered delivery through Yelp. The food arrived in about 45 minutes, slightly faster than the Yelp estimate. Chicken parm: I chose veggies as the side. It turned out to be broccoli. Larger portions than I expected. Lots of sauce and cheese on the chicken. The chicken tasted reasonably fresh, which is something that doesn't always happen with delivery. Sausage roll: about what you'd expect. I didn't order a pizza, but I did notice that their menu tells you exactly how large their pizzas are, which is something that a surprising number of pizza places can't seem to do. read more

We have been ordering from them for the past few years and they have never let us down. The latest one I ordered was the cheese calzone with sausage. The staff and service is great. Convenient location. Pizza is good. But inflation caused the prices to skyrocket. Large pie, wings and knots go for about $50. The knots are excellent. Thought the chicken wings were okay though. The wings were more breaded than meat. I give four stars cuz I hate to give a low rating to a small mom and pop trying to make it thru these tough times. Really disappointed. Covid is running rampant in NYC right now and if I hadn't already paid for my order I would have walked right now. Not one employee here is wearing a mask. You can see the guy making a pizza in the front, no mask. Guy working in the back in the kitchen, no mask. This is honestly disgusting and I won't be back. They also let people in off the street without masks on. This behavior is why we'll never be out of this pandemic read more

The mushroom & spinach pizza (by the slice), eggplant Rollatini and fried calamari were spectacular! The pizza crust had that great crunch and the toppings were hot and gooey. The eggplant rollatini was full of cheese and swimming in hot and spicy tomato sauce. The calamari was plump and tender and lightly coated with a cornmeal and fried to a crispy golden finish. The seating is limited (no out side seating) and the can probably get a little warm in the summer given you will be sitting in the same room as the ovens. Their portions are big. Tastes are good too. We bought a slice of grandma pizza, the crust is crispy and the cheese is fresh. Chicken parmesan the meat is tender with a lot of cheese. Vodka penne is good. Alfredo is kind of oily (a lot of butter). Overall their food is good. I do not have the breakdown, but four things cost $48 in total. Use credit cards they charge 4% extra from the total price, which it is violated the NYS law. read more
