The best pizza and service . So family friendly and inviting. Love the toppings, salad and drinks!
Nicks Pizza has such good pizza I'm spoiled now. I love thin crust pizza the most. My daughter likes pepperoni the most and loves to go to Nicks too. They don't overload the pizza with sauce. I'm allergic to tomato and I didn't have a reaction. I highly recommend Nicks. They have two locations and deliver too or you can order pick up to carry out.
New to NYC so my son likes to take train rides to the end of a line just to experience the station and the neighborhood. This time we took the R to Forrest Hills and walked around the area and happened upon Nicks. It's a tiny place. Family run. You can tell it's a neighborhood staple. While the pizza is somewhat pricey the quality is great. Seating is limited but I don't think you'd wait more than 30 min if every table was seated at same time. Food is prompt , fresh and delicious. Servers are friendly and attentive. I'm glad we stopped by!
Cuisine: 8 Service: 8 Decor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 8 I still remember back in the early 90's when there would be long lines outside Nick's every Wednesday before they opened because everyone wanted the buy one get one free deal. This was one of the best new pizzerias in NYC, opening to great accolades from various publications. Being a poor kid in Junior High School working for a mere $3.75/hr across the street at the corner Baskin Robins (RIP) did not give me the opportunity for quite some time. Anyway, fast forward 5 years and I finally had the chance with a few friends to experience what many called the best pizza in Queens, and I was very impressed. This became my regular "fancy" pizza shop of choice. What I loved most about it was the crispy and charred thin crust. It adds so much to the overall taste and enjoyment. The sauce was deliciously tangy and the fresh mozzarella made it a level above everything else in the neighborhood. One word of warning, the pizza could get a little soggy in the center if too many toppings are ordered. I usually choose none or no more than two. Also noteworthy is their yummy calzones. My personal favorite combination is sausage and spinach. Mixed with all that oozing ricotta and dipped in some tomato sauce, that is one great bite. Lastly, I like most of their salads too. Their food has been a staple in my diet for most of my adult life. Decades go by, and out of nowhere, I hear the news that Nick's had burned down. What a loss for our community! What a loss personally! Thankfully, they are back and feeling every bit like the original. Food is as good as before, while the decor and service has always been on point. Though not my favorite pizza in NYC, or even Queens, it does hold a spot in my rotation.
An absolute gem of a spot with wonderful people working here. Great friendly service that really welcome you and makes you feel as one of the family. Been going to Nicks for years, before and after their renovation. The must get here are the large pies with any favorite topping. As the toppings are all fresh high quality ingredients. We love the sausage, meatball, mushroom, and spinach pie. Crisp chewy crust with a nice char. It's great that it isn't soggy with the spinach as other places have failed at. You can't go wrong with the pies here they are wonderful and deliscious. End the meal with a cannoli as the pistachio and filling make for a nice cannoli with a shell that reminds us of a ice cream cone. Nicks a place i'll go to again and again with wonderful folks working there.
We used to do a lot of takeouts from Nick's and tonight we dined in. The pizzas were so much better! The last time we had takeout we had a bad experience, and tonight's pizzas were such a big contrast. The service was also very friendly. We were happy to be back and will be dining in from now on.
I love a pizza with perfectly cupped pepperoni. There was plenty of pepperoni on this pizza, and they definitely did not skimp out. The pizza came out steaming hot soon after we placed our order. The pizza was the lightest pizza I've ever had, and it didn't feel oily. The crust wouldn't be considered thin crust, but it was on the thinner side. The service was simple yet quick. For a weekend late afternoon, it was pretty busy. It was nice dining at a pizza spot that felt just casual enough but not too casual. Unlike most pizza places, it wasn't dimly lit. The windows let in a lot of light, it was nicely decorated, and it felt clean.
My husband and I were excited to try this place ever since we heard they re-opened. We tried their take out and dine in. The take out was on the floppy side but that's probably because we ate it 1.5 hours later. The dine-in was great though! The pizza was crispy on the button and have great flavoring. The staff was so nice. They even played with my baby. I would probably skip the tiramisu. It was $10.50 a slide and kinda small.
This pizza lives rent free in my head. Phenomenal. I could eat an entire pie myself. Late pick because I was starving and ate most of it before sending a Pic to my wife (she said she was hungry while at a ball game ) real deal
I was recommended this place by a friend of mine who said it was her favorite spot for pizza and that their cannoli was to die for... I understand both of those statements for sure now. The pizzas do NOT come in slices, so bring your appetite or someone to share with because these are big pizzas. They're made to order, thin, crispy, fresh and delicious - and the cannoli was like no other, truly a perfect dessert. Nick's seems almost like it's hiding, but like many treasures it's worth searching for. The inside is quaint and the service was really excellent. I will surely be back for more.
Just finished having a late lunch here. The place has a modern interior with a friendly staff! We ordered a small Sausage and Broccoli pie. Boy what a great pie. Their sauce is delicious and it was cooked just right. I highly recommend this Pizza joint when in the area!
Ordered a grandma pie but they mistakenly provided a regular one with the same ingredients, with a crisp crust and gooey ricotta; nonetheless it tasted great and they graciously provided free tiramisu for that. Glad it's back in business in the neighborhood.
Hey friends! I was in NY for work and of course the first thing I wanted was authentic pizza haha! This brick and mortar Italian spot was such a great find! It's quaint and intimate, it transports you to Italy. We ordered a meatball margherita pizza. We ordered a medium to have extra for dinner later, there were NO slices left. We didn't expect it be so delicious! The ingredients tasted fresh and housemade. The crust had the perfect crunch! I finally tried Nick's Pizza for the first time and I must say that I am hooked. The restaurant was packed when we arrived on a Friday night, but thankfully did not have to wait as we didn't need a booth. We ordered a large pie with pepperoni and a calzone with sausage. Both items came out together like we asked and was far too much food for two. My first bite of the pizza was hot, crunchy, and delicious. I love fresh oven pizzas with a crispy bottom crust. The chefs did an amazing job cooking it just right. I also loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. It really elevated the pizza to another level. The crust was great all around with a slight oven char. Lastly the calzone took me by surprise as it had no sauce and was filled with ricotta cheese as opposed to mozzarella. It came with a small cup of hot marinara sauce for dipping/pouring. It was definitely an interesting calzone but don't think it was worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and Nick's and would highly recommend it. I do wish the pricing was a bit more fair when it came to full vs half pie toppings as well as the calzone. read more

There was a short line when I arrived but it moves fast and the service is efficient--my pizza came out hot, fresh, and perfectly crisp in no time. I got the large pie with sausage and onions! Finally after 2 long years of not being able to have Nicks Pizza again ! They were closed because of a fire which is heartbreaking for such a great and successful business. My kids and I enjoyed coming to Nicks and sharing a pizza . Always freshly made always delicious. When I saw on social media they opened again my daughter and I had to go . We parked close (yes lucky) and as we entered we saw how busy they were and it was great to see they deserve it . John who makes pizza greets guests serves pizza and runs around is always there and always smiling and making everyone feel welcome . We got a large pizza with extra basil . It tasted just as good as it did prior to closing . We finished the pizza in less than 10 mins . The service was prompt friendly and gracious . We ordered a large pie with half peperoni and the other half with mushroom and fresh garlic. We also ordered a small calzone with sausage. They both came out pretty quick. Delicious food in a homey atmosphere. This restaurant has the most welcoming and attentive service, and the food was out of this world. We got three pizzas and they were so flexible with our requests- for example, they happily made us a half white, half tomato pizza. There are such a wide variety of toppings to choose from. We got a grandma pizza with sausage and pepperoni (my favorite), half white and half tomato pizza with spinach, garlic and mushrooms, and a margarita pie. Dessert was the cherry on top - I was just in Italy and can confidently say this was the best tiramisu I have ever had! The staff took such great care of us and were very attentive. Open again after being closed after a fire. Glad to see it's the same place as before. Busy Saturday night but the host running the door kept things moving. Service was friendly and efficient. Ate lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. The gentleman who greeted us and took our order was very friendly. We ordered one large pie (1/2 cheese & 1/2 pepperoni). Our group of 4 all felt it was one of the top pies we'd ever eaten. Dessert was tiramisu and cheese cake which received good marks. Clean, courteous and one of the best pizzas ever. They have been here for a while and I think I was here years ago but I didn't remember the experience. It's a decent sized seating area and they have some outdoor options as well right out front of the store. The owners and folks that work here are super polite and nice. I ordered this time for a to go order and he came out and personally thanked me for the business. That hasn't happened to me in a very long time. The pizza is also amazing. You can't get it by the slice but you can go half/half options. It seems to be cooked to the perfect temperature and time. Even the trip from the restaurant to back home, the pizza held up perfectly. Not a traditional pizzeria per se but this might be better. read more
