This was one of the best new pizzerias in NYC, opening to great accolades from various publications. Being a poor kid in Junior High School working for a mere $3.75/hr across the street at the corner Baskin Robins (RIP) did not give me the opportunity for quite some time. Anyway, fast forward 5 years and I finally had the chance with a few friends to experience what many called the best pizza in Queens, and I was very impressed. This became my regular "fancy" pizza shop of choice. What I loved most about it was the crispy and charred thin crust. It adds so much to the overall taste and enjoyment. The sauce was deliciously tangy and the fresh mozzarella made it a level above everything else in the neighborhood. One word of warning, the pizza could get a little soggy in the center if too many toppings are ordered. I usually choose none or no more than two. Also noteworthy is their yummy calzones. My personal favorite combination is sausage and spinach. Mixed with all that oozing ricotta and dipped in some tomato sauce, that is one great bite. Lastly, I like most of their salads too. Their food has been a staple in my diet for most of my adult life. Decades go by, and out of nowhere, I hear the news that Nick's had burned down. What a loss for our community! What a loss personally! Thankfully, they are back and feeling every bit like the original. Food is as good as before, while the decor and service has always been on point. Though not my favorite pizza in NYC, or even Queens, it does hold a spot in my rotation. read more

An absolute gem of a spot with wonderful people working here. Great friendly service that really welcome you and makes you feel as one of the family. Been going to Nicks for years, before and after their renovation. The must get here are the large pies with any favorite topping. As the toppings are all fresh high quality ingredients. We love the sausage, meatball, mushroom, and spinach pie. Crisp chewy crust with a nice char. It's great that it isn't soggy with the spinach as other places have failed at. You can't go wrong with the pies here they are wonderful and deliscious. End the meal with a cannoli as the pistachio and filling make for a nice cannoli with a shell that reminds us of a ice cream cone. All these years later and Nick's is still tops! We found ourselves in Forest Hills and decided to pay Nick's a visit and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was even better! I was recommended this place by a friend of mine who said it was her favorite spot for pizza and that their cannoli was to die for... I understand both of those statements for sure now. The pizzas do NOT come in slices, so bring your appetite or someone to share with because these are big pizzas. They're made to order, thin, crispy, fresh and delicious - and the cannoli was like no other, truly a perfect dessert. Nick's seems almost like it's hiding, but like many treasures it's worth searching for. The inside is quaint and the service was really excellent. I will surely be back for more. read more

I love a pizza with perfectly cupped pepperoni. There was plenty of pepperoni on this pizza, and they definitely did not skimp out. The pizza came out steaming hot soon after we placed our order. Service is attentive, kind, and friendly. Space is clean l, updated, and a bit cozy without trying. Pizza was good. Not soggy at all. Good portion and even distribution of toppings. My only minor issue is the price per topping which is an obstacle for me returning more frequently. It is a slightly elevated experience from a counter service pizzeria, but at what cost. Finally after 2 long years of not being able to have Nicks Pizza again ! They were closed because of a fire which is heartbreaking for such a great and successful business. My kids and I enjoyed coming to Nicks and sharing a pizza . Always freshly made always delicious. When I saw on social media they opened again my daughter and I had to go . We parked close (yes lucky) and as we entered we saw how busy they were and it was great to see they deserve it . John who makes pizza greets guests serves pizza and runs around is always there and always smiling and making everyone feel welcome . We got a large pizza with extra basil . It tasted just as good as it did prior to closing . We finished the pizza in less than 10 mins . The service was prompt friendly and gracious . Still yummy after all these years! In the Forest Hills neighborhood, we were devastated by the fire and closure of Nick's Pizza over 2 years ago. We are thrilled that it has reopened. Greeted by John we saw our favorite place has been restored from the fire to its original, warm, fun place. The pizza is so good- maybe better than before. We had 2 grandma pies- one with artichokes and pepperoni, the other with hot peppers and sausage- OMG! Wonderful. The pizza is great, and the staff is just as important to us. John, Germain, Ricky, Gary, Christian are a delight! Now that they are back, we will be back weekly, bring our friends and family. A great day!! read more

Delicious food in a homey atmosphere. This restaurant has the most welcoming and attentive service, and the food was out of this world. We got three pizzas and they were so flexible with our requests- for example, they happily made us a half white, half tomato pizza. There are such a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Seriously the best calzone I have ever eaten! We went last night and had an incredible meal. The salads were all fresh with delicious homemade dressings. The three pizzas we ate had the most perfect thin crust with so many different toppings - my favorite being the white pizza with extra garlic and spinach. I was so happy they reopened. Been going there since they opened in 1993. It's a lovely, open, airy space. The kitchen is in the open, you can see your food being made. We get a large pie and finish almost the whole thing each (2 of us), leaving just 1 slice because we are so stuffed but just can't stop eating it-it's sooooo good, then an hour later that final slice is gone! I dined in twice and the pizza was delicious. Ordered a large plain pie for the family an hour before closing time. Have to say I was really disappointed. Cheese was on some slices but not on others. Pizza wasn't crisp like usual. I understand it was close to closing time. I ordered via door dash which I won't do again. $40 for a large pie because of door dash prices. Normally it would be $24 plus tax. $ 40 is a stretch. I will definitely dine in again but I will not order in. It's a decent sized seating area and they have some outdoor options as well right out front of the store. The owners and folks that work here are super polite and nice. I ordered this time for a to go order and he came out and personally thanked me for the business. That hasn't happened to me in a very long time. The pizza is also amazing. You can't get it by the slice but you can go half/half options. It seems to be cooked to the perfect temperature and time. Even the trip from the restaurant to back home, the pizza held up perfectly. They have outdoor seating, benches with umbrellas since the pandemic which is great. They were packed at Friday night dinner and did their best to respond to the crowds. I shared a large plain pizza with a friend knowing there be would be some to go. My montepulciano d'abruzzo tasted off so I got the French rose instead and it was perfect on a humid evening. The pizza is the star of this show with all fresh ingredients, basil from the garden, homemade sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. I hoped for more cheese on the pizza but it's gourmet and I'll go for the cheesy pizza at NYC pizza parlors. This place is a restaurant. Ample beer selection. We started with a salad served in a take out container tossed on the table this is not a good way to start a meal with togo approach. Picked a large pizza 3 + toppings the toppings are worth what you pay for but the mushrooms get baked on pizza and water down the pizza sauce so it was bland. The sauce needs work. I spent $66.00 for two drinks, one pizza & 3 + topping, and waiting 20 minutes on a table. And we had gnats, flys around our table.
