Ok so I do think the pizza is good here however the last 2 times I've ordered from them I've had issues so now the rating goes down. First I ordered delivery and the driver must of dropped my pizza and although it's not Gloria's fault - they should have made it right by giving me a free pizza or a full refund but NADA ! Then today- I walked there for lunch and sat down and had my delicious regular slice and Sicilian slice and a can of Sprite. I went into the bathroom quick to pee and when I came out my table was cleared and no can of Sprite that I only took 2 or 3 sips of. I totally understand that someone would think the person left and table needed to be cleaned, however, I explained I just went to the bathroom. I want my sprite. They asked one of the workers, he explained that he thew it away. No problem- I said ok I'm going to grab another can. He asked the guy , was it empty? I was like no it wasn't the guy said - half full. He the proceeds to hand me a child size plastic cup of fountain like warm sprite. I paid for a full 12oz can of soda that YOU threw away while I was in your bathroom!!! It was like he didn't believe me - meanwhile I just ordered and paid for it like 10 minutes ago! How can you not remember me just buying this from you!! Fuck that man. Customer service is horrible - I am work in customer service - I work at the Trader Joe's right down the block. Came for pizza, the guy was going to give me the last two cold slices in the pan. I asked politely if they can give me two hot fresh slices which all pizzerias have pies ready underneath the counter once the top sells out. The service was fast and there are some seating available. Some that are tables and some that are on a counter against the window so you can people watch. Just outside the movie theater, this pizzeria has that true neighborhood sense, welcoming yet modern. You can grab a quick slice for $5, kick back in front of the TV, and hop on the subway home. Convenient, honestly. I went with a classic cheese slice and a few garlic knots. They were decent; nothing too special, nothing bad either. The slice was thin and crispy, a little oily, but without that rich cheese flavor that could have pushed it over the top. Service was friendly, and my pizza came out in about five minutes. I had been to Gloria Pizza before. I was using the main MTA subway station in Forest Hills and would be walking over to Austin Street and Forest Hills Gardens. It was slightly after lunch and I needed some sustenance. I saw Gloria Pizza and was studying how to best cross hectic Queens Boulevard to get there. Maybe I like this business's name because, when I hear it, the lyrics "Will you meet him on the Main Line ... or will you catch him on the rebound?" and "Will you marry for the money ... take a lover in afternoon?" go through my head. That name alone may have more built-in goodwill than they could have imagined when they opened the place. The restaurant interior is clean and bright. Most of what they have ready is in the glass cases. I saw the various pizzas and asked if they could add mushrooms to a slice. They could. Soft drinks are of the canned or bottled variety. The pizza was fine, but the mushrooms had a decidedly "added on" look and taste. The thin New York crust was to my liking. Since it didn't appear they had pizza with mushrooms already made and displayed for slices, maybe they can add one to their regular rotation. But then, what they display probably comes down to their knowing what sells. If I had to go with one ingredient on a pizza in addition to the cheese, it would be mushrooms ... by a mile. Another part of this exchange made things more interesting. I saw these round, golden, deep fried items and asked, "How much are those arancini?" I got a "huh" sort of response. The person behind the cases then added, 'Oh, the rice balls, they're (insert amount I didn't want to pay and have forgotten).' Gloria's goes back to the baby boom years and, like so many Italian eateries and bakeries, it might be (a little) less Italian. If you have a presumably Southern Italian eatery and have deep fried rice balls stuffed with other ingredients, you should know what arancini are. I finished my slice of pizza and walked out into Forest Hills with my beverage in hand. I had lunch and quelled my hunger. The price for the slice was a Forest Hills price, hence not $3.99, but the soft drink was priced like it would be anywhere else. The service was a little indifferent. I believe it was somewhat like that the first time I visited Gloria Pizza. Its main drawing card may be a great location on Queens Boulevard near the MTA station entrances. It doesn't take much energy to go to Gloria Pizza. Local folks are eating in this pizzeria. This is probably a decent option if you're a local, working nearby and needing something quick to eat, or just passing through the area like I was. read more

My Dad and I had a great lunch - since it was cold and rainy we started with soup. I was shocked with the extra large serving! I was picturing a small bowl! This was enough for a meal! (Even though we also ordered a sub lol) He had minestrone and I ordered chicken noodle Delicious! Then they brought over the eggplant parm sub. If you want an old school NY slice without the frills of adding burrata olive oil etc this is a slice worth a try if your in the vicinity and are craving that type of pizza. We were really hoping to like this place, but was overwhelmingly disappointed. We came in half an hour before closing and it seemed like they just did a rush job on our pie order that was just sad. We ordered a half pepperoni and half penne a la vodka pie - the pepperoni half was near gross as it was soaked in oil, very little cheese and few pepperoni slices. There was so little cheese and so much oil that everything fell off the slice the moment we grabbed it. The penne a la vodka half was slightly better, was lacking in flavor. Moreover, the slices have shrunk and they are now four dollars. That's outrageous for a slice of pizza. Let's be honest: The pizza here was never even close to good. I have been going here off and on for probably 6 or 7 years now and that's only because A&J on Austin Street shut down. The taste of Gloria was never anything to write home about. The best I can say is that it is edible. Now, they've really outdone themselves by having the nerve to charge $4 per plain slice and by reducing both the slice size anf thickness by about 20% from last year. The slices here are now almost comically or insultingly tiny. Additionally, you'll walk in 1PM, 3PM, 4PM, 7PM, etc, and they won't even have plain or pepperoni slices ready and make you wait 10 minutes while they make a new one. This business model is INFURIATING. Why, at peak business hours, would you not have slices ready to go? Do you honestly think it will go to waste and just sit there and no one will buy it? The whole purpose of pizza is that is a quick meal. No one wants to stand around like a jagoff waiting for this pizza like it doesn't suck and is some culinary masterpiece. That's moronic. I just had $1.50 pizza on 35th Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan and like most dollar pizza places, you get a little more for your money than you would at Gloria and it actually tastes better, too! MUCH better. So, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Gloria. Ripoff artists. I recommend either going to the pizza place on the North Side of Queens Blvd between 67th Ave and Yellowstone or taking a quick train ride to La Rondine in Kew Gardens. La Rondine is cheaper, with bigger slices and tastes much better than this overpriced Gloria garbage. It's sad when dollar pizza tastes better. read more

I have to be honest here, this can no longer be considered a NY slice, given how small it has become and how thick the back part of the crust is. No one wants to bite into progressively thicker dough when eating a slice. It's a shame because the ingredients (crust, sauce, cheese) and oven that they use would make for a great slice otherwise. Seriously, how much are you really saving by making the slices so small? You're probably losing customers because of this, which costs you more in the long run. This is one of the best pizza places in Forest Hills! The cheese, crust, and cheese are very good, on both the Sicilian and regular slices. The broccoli garlic knots are also so good, with fresh mozzarella and garlic. I was so disappointed with their grandma slice. It was my first time ordering from so I thought why not give it a chance. I placed a pickup order through seamless. Based on their description, it's supposed to be a thin crust Sicilian with mozzarella and basil. That was not the case. I received a slice from a round pie with a patches of tomato sauce, no basil or mozzarella. When I called them, they said "we make two versions. We ran out of the Sicilian, so we gave you the round one instead." When I told them it doesn't seem like this has the toppings noted in the descriptions, they yelled "it's a grandma. Really good pizza here. I've always passed this place and heard it was good but have never tried it until now. The are delivering and offering take out right now. It's right next to the movie theatre on the Blvd. The pizza is pretty good. Warm and fresh on arrival so that's always great. They have a full dinner and lunch menu as well. I want to try their full menu as well. Hopefully they are consistent with the pizza though next time I order. That always gets a plus in my opinion. read more

Against my better judgment I decided to ignore the mishap. I had a craving for mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. Much to my surprise they do not have chicken tenders on their menu. I settled on an order of mozzarella sticks to go. The mozzarella sticks were of the flat variety. Although the cheese was tasty they were heavily breaded with unseasoned breadcrumbs.
