A fixture in the Woodside area for years, Pizza Boy II is the most old school pizzeria in the neighborhood. It's hard to miss from Roosevelt Blvd and exudes all the nostalgia that New Yorkers tend to reminisce when it comes to pizzas by the slice. I don't think the pizza here was ever exceptional, but I do like that they've managed to stick around for so long. Their interior is something out of the 1980s. I don't mind this and if anything, I feel it gives them a little more charm. It's not the biggest place and I would reserve a majority of the in-dining experiences for solo meals. When they're good, the plain slice as solid as they come. They're perfectly floppy with the right ratio of cheese and sauce. The Sicilian ones are a tad on the doughy side and I appreciate their pinwheels, which are a hearty and tasty. What I'm not excited about is just about everything else on the menu: beef patties, pastas, wings, heros and burgers. They were all mediocre, dry, and a major departure from the pizza. When in doubt, stick with the pies / slices. Service is a bit run of the mill and the delivery has their moments. The prices haven't eclipsed what most pizzerias tend to charge, so that is also a plus. I think takeout is the move for this place or perhaps a casual slice when going through Woodside. read more

OMG chef Emilio is no longer there and I can tell the difference. God knows who they have making the pizza now. The pizza is... soggy/limp especially if you put it in the fridge for the next day to reheat. I normally love cold pizza too but I can't eat this doo doo afterwords no matter what. It has been a while since I been at Pizza boy, which has been a legendary establishment in woodside. I moved to woodside in the late 1997. Pizza boy always has had agreat pizza. Now that i moved out of the neighborhood to Bayside, i still manage to visit the neighborhood and get a pie either tk go or to eat in. It just comes down to the quality of the ingredients and the technique to make the dough just perfect. We order a X-tra large pie with sausage. I will tell you, i prefer the sausage thinly sliced, tou can taste the fennel in the sausage, great quality cheese and excellent sauce. The crust is nice and crunchy, pizza is not oily and you can pick it up just like a NY slice by folding it in half. The cheese pie is $17.50 + 5.50 per topping, cant beat that. Waiyed about 10 minutes and the pie comes out pipping hot. I could have used a good bottle of red to finish it off but, that was not part of the plan tonight. read more

This pizzeria has been around for decades and still churns out a great pizza slice. It's been maybe a decade since I had pizza from here and I am happy to report the pizza is as good as ever. My daughter and I ordered 3 slices to share between 2 of us. Service was fast and slices were 3.50 each. They do have a combo for 2 slices and a soda for 7.00z. The crust on the pizza was so thin and crispy. The cheese pull was insane on the slice. I am so happy to know Pizza Boy's pizza is as good as I remember! read more

They offer indoor and outdoor seating at Pizza Boy II, but it was a nice day so I chose to be outside. I love their pizza, and garlic knots. The grandma and white slice are my personal favorites. I ordered a large gluten-free pepperoni pizza with hot n' spicy chicken wings and garlic bread, but what I ended up with was a basic pizza practically tasteless, bland wings, mediocre garlic bread, and no hot sauce for the wings. I used to live in Woodside and can't remember if I ever went here but last week after visiting my mom, decided to stop by for a quick bite. The Sicilian pie looked best and the counter man asked which slice I preferred. I chose the interior piece and went to pick up when called. The sauce hit me first! Sweet, tangy and delicious! In perfect ratio to the cheese too! The crust not too thick and a good bite but pliant too! Really good menu of other choices that I'll probably try next time I am around! Not a fancy place but super solid creed! Service was fast, attentive and cordial- there is no ambiance and that's fine- I came for pizza!! read more

Solid pizza at reasonable prices from a great neighborhood joint. Someone else said it pretty well - you might not actively make plans to have a meal here ahead of time, but if you're out and about and want a bite to eat, it's a good place to stop. To be honest if there was a 3.5 star option, that's what I'd choose - but I don't feel bad giving it a 4 because they also have plenty of options, and get you served quick. I grabbed a regular Sicilian slice, a regular cheese pizza slice, and a barbecue chicken slice - all pretty decent, had zero complaints. (Also, they have an ad out for their place in the weekly Saint Sebastian Mass bulletin - which is pretty cool!) read more

Attention Pizza Boy : I know its Woodside, but there are still some people who enjoy an actual Italian meal. One of the authentic, classic, and old stand-by sandwiches is the potato and egg hero. It's on your menu. Takes me back to the Italian street fairs and feasts. Well, San Gennaro would be disgusted, just like I was. I did not see the ingredients on your menu- but when I got home to eat it, I got to see and taste your ingredients- eggs with French fries, on a hero. Actually thought I was seeing things, but after a second look, yes- it was a French fries and eggs hero. After one bite and careful examination, the rest went in the garbage. My adult son says this is his favorite pizzeria. I'm here to rave about a Margerita pizza we had delivered 2 weeks ago on a Thursday or so. I was surprised how heavy the box was, due to all the slices of fresh tomato & plenty of fresh mozzarella. It was clearly made with lots of love and was absolutely delicious. This is one of the, if not the best pizza place in and around woodside. I have been going here since i was a child and have never once complained, the service is amazing and the people behind the counter are friendly (occasionally), there is usually a line however it moves fast and so does the pizza. The ambiance is how you would expect from a regular pizzeria in nyc. 5 stars would recommend. (Also the pizza does get cold quick so eat fast and after its cold the dough gets super tough) read more

Been in Woodside several years, but really never had the urge to get pizza here until recently. It may be due to the more modern/inviting exterior and interior after they renovated (no thanks to a school bus crashing into it back in December). The pizza here seems very standard, but standard where it gets the job one in fulfilling your pizza craving. It may be on par with Woodside Pizza and I'd say better than Peppino's Pizza. They offer a $5 deal for 2 slices and a small fountain drink. The sauce is standard, not bad, not the greatest ever, but its covered decently with ample cheese and the individual slices are HUGE. The garlic knots are larger and more doughy than average compared to surrounding pizzerias and seem to be everyone's favorite side order. Overall everything was speedy and this place is serviceable for my pizza needs. Plus it also helps they have a website to scout out their menu also.
