I've had a mixed experience here, but lately, it's been more of a miss than a hit. While I've had decent meals in the past, an okay pizza or pasta here and there--the quality has really declined recently. On my last visit, I was served watery spaghetti. It was like they boiled the noodles and sloshed it in water. Same with the fettucine. I've also had one of the saltiest slices of cheese pizza I've ever eaten in my life from this place that made me stop wanting to eat pizza altogether for a while. Twice this restaurant ruined a holiday with bad service and the wrong food. There are so many pizza places in the area to choose from, i will not ever order from you again. For the record though, my family ordered a plain chicken cutlet hero and another one with parm. You slathered the plain one with tomato sauce, which I am allergic to and you put just sauce no cheese on the parm hero. Wtf??? AND YOU DIDNT ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN WE TRIED TO ORDER THE RIGHT SANDWICH! No one wants just sauce on a chicken hero if they asked for plain. NO ONE. Cheese & Sicilian Pizza. SATISFACTORY. Preferred the Cheese Slice over the Sicilian Slice 'cause it was more flavorful with the emphasis being on the Cheese taste. The Sicilian Slice tasted more like Bread with Tomato Sauce and the Cheese flavor seemed nonexistent. Thought the Cheese Slice was larger where you got more Bang For Your Buck. Always consistent and delicious. Reg slice is the best NYC slice. Only wish that they sold the onion pie that we travel to Grand Ave to get. I grew up on their Pizza in Ridgewood. My husband and kids were so happy when they opened by our house in Astoria. Pizza is very subjective. For me this wasn't it. Had a the regular and the mushroom. By taste alone they were average at best. The good: slices are super large and super cheesy, the value is 100% there. The meh: Taste...it just wasn't there. Mushroom slice tasted a little bit bitter/sour, interesting. Regular slice was too soggy and floppy to pick up and the sauce was bland-zo. The people were nice and the place was not dirty but the flies were circling and landing like its JFK. They had a lot of specialty slices that looked good. I'd probably skip the regulars and try a specialty slice. read more

While I would still give the upper nod to the Maspeth and Ridgewood locations, Rosa's of Astoria is certainly no slouch in the pizza game. Given the expansion of the Rosa's empire, I am actually really jonseying for one to open closer to me. If I still lived in Astoria, I'd be very pleased to patronize this location often. And yet, I still find myself here more often than not. 21st is not riddled with great eateries, so when I'm in the area and it's late and I'm hungry (#1), I'll knock out a couple of slices when I get a chance. Unlike the other locations which look like they're stuck the 80s (#2), this location is the newest, hence it's updated with lots of seating, an open kitchen, and a TV playing in the background. Who doesn't love Rosa's signature inside-out sicilian? While I still love the slices, I find it to be just a tad saltier than the ones I'm used to. Grandma slice is also quality and I could get down with the ravioli or margherita anytime. And like any good pizza, this stuff is still rock solid when eaten at room temperature. The guys who are behind the counter are friendly and courteous. They are really good with the delivery and are fast about getting slices out to folks. One advantage the Astoria branch has is that it takes credit cards, which is a big win. I go back with Rosa's Pizza to my high school days in early 2000s on Metropolitan Ave, and now the one in Astoria. The review is for both locations as my experience has been very good with both. The pizza slices are big, cheesy, greasy and delicious. My go-to's are the chicken and tomato, garlic knots, grandma's, and chicken rolls. The slices are very flavorful and have enough wetness and crisp in them that every crunch feels like you're being filmed on a pizza tv commercial. Last time I ordered the 9 slice grandma's pie, I ate 7 slices in one sitting. Worth it. But hopefully you get the point of how delicious their food is. The only downside I have is that doing cardio to burn it off requires alot of effort, but I'll handle it. Anyway, if you're looking for good delicious pizza thats been around for longer than most people in this App gives Rosa's a try. You wont regret your decision. read more

The lasagna was messy due to the heavy toppings so I had to resort to using a knife and fork. But hey, no skimping! Yum. It's hard to find a pizza place that isn't complete trash that slaps cheesy crusty oil together here in Queens. Rosa's Grandma Pie however definitely holds up for a Queens pizza joint and I've never been disappointed ordering from them. Their pizza is the perfect amount of thin and it's extremely flavorful. The lasagna slice was HUGE! Can easily fill you and your girlfriend. The slice was very sauce and well balanced. Had anoles amount of meat, sauce and ricotta. Highly recommend! Since Rosa's is a quick walk from where I live, I can only speak for takeout and pre-covid dine in. I wouldn't say everyone behind the counter is bubbly, but they've been polite so far. The slices here may seem a bit pricer compared to other nearby locations but it's absolutely worth it. It's the right size and it holds together. My favorite is the white pizza, though it can feel super heavy around the end. The interior is clean, and while there were always customers there pre-pandemic, I've always been able to find seats with friends. On the other hand, I do wish the ordering/paying process was more organized. When there's multiple customers, it can get confusing where to wait, and I've had instances where rude customers would intentionally cut in line to pay with no interference from the cashier. read more

Rosas is one of the best pizza spots in queens. My friends and I grew up around the original location which is somewhere in maspeth. When I realized they had a new location in Astoria, I was super excited! Plus they deliver! I placed an order for a large cheese pie, a personal gluten free pie, and 2 orders of garlic knots. As usual, the pizza was fantastic! And the gluten free pie was great as well. The food is fresh and delicious, you really can't go wrong with them. The customer service was awesome, they're patient and super friendly. However, this was my only issue. I placed my order around 5pm and informed them to deliver it at 730. I think the delivery guy got lost, but I received a luke warm pizza around 8pm. I was a bit disappointed, but what to do. read more

Omgggggggggg!!!! Rosa's pizza is the closest you're going to get to l&b spumoni gardens in Brooklyn. Rosa's pizza is authentic and a great new look for Astoria. I kept getting mixed reviews if they were affiliated with the rosa's in Maspeth and after walking by today and walking in it was confirmed. Im real happy to have a rosa's in Astoria. Rosa's Sicilian slices and Margaret slices are to die for. This pizza is that ginzo authentic Italian pizza that is rare to come by. If you live in the neighborhood be happy rosa's is here cause they're killing all pizza stores in Astoria. Theirs really not good pizza in Astoria except polito's on broadway and sac's on broadway, but now that rosa's is in Astoria it's going to be great competition when it comes to awesome pizza. If you don't know about rosa's do your home work they been killing the game for 20+ years and i still ride out to Maspeth to get their pizza and Italian dishes. Ever since my favorite pizza place, Polito's closed pre- pandemic - I have tried almost every single pizza place around Astoria, and this one - Rosa's takes the cake. I usually order their Sicilian pizza, extra doughy which I love, with mushrooms and pepperoni, and it is delicious!!! I just hope they keep the same amount of sauce and cheese, because lately a lot of other pizza places are not putting enough of either, causing the pizza to be dry. Please keep everything the same!
