I order from this place frequently because I lived around the corner and they have great menu options. Tonight, I ordered my usual after completing my weekly fast. So yeah I was very very hungry. However my salad came with olive oil instead of what I selected/requested. I called the place and immediately I was told they were going to send someone with the correct dressing. Okay perfect! I can remove the chicken and heat it up while I wait for the dressing. Right? 4 minutes later they called to ask for my address. As soon as I finish saying my address the guy I spoke to said "that's too far I ain't going down there" because they're closing. So now i can't take whoever works there seriously at their word. Last time I will be ordering from there. This was not just such a disappointing experience but turned off at way the restaurant chose to handle it. I mean I ONLY order 1-3x a week. So maybe they'll be okay without my business. read more

Hands down the best pizza spot in Astoria! We have been coming here for 20 years! The pizza is bomb! The garlic knots are awesome and it just doesn't get better than this place. I stopped by for our Valentine's Day pickup dinner last night ... obviously not going out especially since I just had a baby! I paid $31 for 3 pepperoni slices, one slice extra cheese and pepperoni, a chicken slice, 2 orders of garlic knots and an order of zeppoles. It was amazing! They're not cheap on the extra cheese, they make my slices just the way I like them; crispy, and the garlic knots are extra garlicky and not too oily! They have the same staff here. I mean who doesn't like to go into a place where you have history at? They're just the best. Thank you Piazza Pizza for another great pizza party! See you soon. read more

Always pass this place on the way to my gym - decided to have a quick bite with my dad! My dad's been going here for years!! The guy behind the counter was super sweet & hilarious!! We got a chicken souvlaki platter & a rice ball. I love a good rice ball & that is exactly what it was -- I hate when places leave them out for too long & they get oily! This one was the perfect crunch with a nice rice / meat ratio. The prices were super reasonable & the food was great! Will def become a regular! read more

I have been going here almost my whole life. I love my friends behind the counter who always talk to me about our days. We have known eachother for so long and it's nice fo see all familiar faces everytime we go. I come here a lot for lunch or dinner. They have a whole back space to eat inside and during the summer time they put chairs outside to enjoy your food. The pizza is good and always fresh. They have one of the best chicken rolls. You have to go if you are in the area. read more

Piazza Pizza - a slice of pizza and a slice of grilled cheese - Pizza Near Me - Astoria, New York

They were good! But their sauce is much more saltier than sweet - something I'm not at all used to in my Italian food. Very heavy, prepare to unbuckle your belt if you find yourself here. read more

This place is amazing. Been to a ton of pizza places and this is hands down the best. Also have to get the buffalo chicken garlic knot slider. Damn!!!! read more

I usually order pizza from here and it's good. However the quality of the pizza is not always consistent. 2 out 3 times they messed up the order. One time they got the order wrong and sent a different but similar pie. Today we said well done and it's not and very watery. The pie still was delicious or else I would of sent it back. Give it a try but don't be surprised if they mess up a little. read more

Piazza Pizza - Watery pizza that is not well done. But it was very delicious! - Pizza Near Me - Astoria, New York

They had a good deal for pizza. We ordered the pizza, garlic knots, soda and buffalo wings. They lost a star because they gave us 1lt instead of 2lt. Eithet way that's better anyway who needs all that soda? I loved that the pizza wasn't too greasy. We got one half feta and one half pineapple. I was a little disappointed because there was barely enough feta on the pie. They definitely could have added more. The garlic knots were not overpowering at all. They were actually pretty big compared to most places I've been too. The buffalo wings with BBQ were made well done. I'm happy it didn't irritate my stomach. The inside of the shop is kept clean. The staff kept everyone happy and on point. I would recommend this place for a quick bite to eat. The prices are pretty reasonable. The blue cheese was pretty tasty as well. Would I come back here again? Yes. Would I order feta on my pizza? No, it just wasnt enough for my taste. The pineapple slice was on point. I just would have liked if the soda we paid for was actually a 2lt for my guests. read more

I always order a large cheese pizza and meat lovers pizza and garlic knots from here. It's always hit the spot and whenever we've gotten it delivered it's always been hot where the cheese is still runny ish and oily. That's my type of NY style pizza. read more

Pizza is mediocre at best. I have had dollar pizza that is better. 1 slice with a small bottle of water was $5. Not worth it.

I have lived on the same block as this pizza place for nearly two years and tonight was my first time ordering from them. I ordered a whole pizza for pickup and asked that it be "well done". I do not like soggy pizza crust. I arrived within the ten minute window of when the app said my order would be ready, but it wasn't. I had to wait over fifteen more minutes for my order. I wouldn't have minded if it was exactly what I asked for, but it wasn't. The pizza was not well-done and the minute I picked up a slice out of the box all of the cheese & toppings slid off because the crust was too soggy to hold it together. The taste was delicious, but I literally had to scoop the cheese & toppings back onto the crust with a fork. The place is cute and they offer an assortment of desserts as well as the normal pizza spot fare. I would try them again, perhaps to dine-in because the pizza did taste good. It just seems they do not listen to order instructions when placing the order through an app. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time. read more

Disgusting attitude, they didn't ask what I wanted they just put the pizza in the oven not even speaking or even asking what else I wanted. Don't recommend, no positive energy just very poor customer service. read more

I'd give them more like 3.5 stars. It's better than 3 but not quite a 4. I've been a loyal customer for years. Mostly cuz I live nearby. They close early (around 10 pm I think) so that's a bummer. No late night pizza. Look, I'm a pizza and food snob. But this is a perfectly fine neighborhood pizza place. This isn't fancy or the best pizza in town. But it's good. It's a solid pie. Good portions and fair prices. $15.50 for a huge plain pie $2.25 for 1 liter soda Baked ziti was $8.25 and generous portion. Came w a small piece of Italian bread. I usually get peppers and onions on half and it's a generous portion. Only the artichoke topping is skimpy. It's just leaves. Not halves or quarters. I've even asked for pepperoni on just 1 slice and they do it. I've gotten a salad w grilled chicken many times and ask for the grilled chicken to be packed separately and they do it for me. Also generous portion. And comes with bread. I think they have someone new adding something to the pizza lately cuz I feel it's gotten a little better. Tastier. I think it's the sauce. It's not as bland as it once was. Delivery is fast. But I live close by. The place is clean inside. The pizza crust is a little thick and doughy. I always reheat it when I get it. The white pizza is a let down. Bland. And the sauce is just ok so dipping it doesn't help. The baked ziti - pasta was a little over cooked - but it was just fine. Cheesy and hot. And what you get for $8 and change. It was good. Not amazing. Not gourmet or authentic. But just fine. read more

My fiancé and I have lived in Astoria for 8 years and have probably tried every pizza place on Seamless, and Piazza is hands down our favorite pizza. My favorite is the Sicilian pizza (we often add pepperoni) - it's super delicious, flavorful sauce, perfect crust texture and leftovers reheat very well in the air fryer or toaster. The calzones are very good too, and we usually add an order of zeppole for dessert- they're a steal at $1.50! read more

Honestly, this place is a sturdy, reliable, workhorse. The pizza is solid and cheap, and they deliver within 20-30 minutes. They have great specials, and it is tasty (non-sweet) NY pizza. Is it Joes? Of course not. It's pretty hard to find that kind of pizza here in Astoria, but it is thin crust pizza that is slightly crispy but still soft with not too much sauce or cheese. We order pizza, salads, and garlic knots from here at least 2-3 times a month. read more

Piazza Pizza - Classic nyc pizza - Pizza Near Me - Astoria, New York

The pandemic has given me an entirely different view of dining out. More than ever...so much more than ever ... I appreciate: service, setting, food quality, and value. I will never take any of these things for granted again. And so it is with great appreciation for all of the above that I write and recommend Piazza Pizza. It is so much more than "a pizza place" - it is in fact, a very very nicely appointed restaurant on any scale. The owner, George, has battled hard through these very tough times in his business to raise the level of his service and the quality of his product. Just last night my friend and I decided to "get out of the house" and dropped in at Piazza on the late side - around nine. No problem. No rush to get us in and out. Not at all. A lovely tall blond waitress went out of her way to make us feel at home and welcome, bringing us several different and fresh sets of glassware (as this is a byob - and thus a great value.) She presented a fantastic sounding list of specials as well. We noticed the large number of staff on hand, and how well trained they all seemed. By the way, the place is spotless, along with the restrooms. We ordered only a pizza, a large (The Gorgonzola - highly recommended.) It is not too large, but huge in flavor! We savored every bite. Yes, it is that good. George was pleased that we enjoyed ourselves and took time to explain the fresh ingredients that he uses. A bonus. This was a bargain, but we were so pleased at all the little things that we doubled the bill with our gratuity. We resolved to come back - often. This is a great place that hits all the notes! Thanks. Well done! read more

Gimme a slice of cheese, and make it quick. Or just ignore me, walk away and take phone calls while I stand alone under fluorescent lights staring at the stale pizza pies solidifying under the sneeze guard counter. I wave my hand a little. Put my soda on the counter. Wonder weather I could reach over the plastic to get my own slice. Fortunately, the joint is empty so I don't have anyone watching me stew in my awkward "should I stay or should I go" stance. When I finally persuade one of the pizza chefs from the kitchen to help me he goes to heat up my run of the mill slice of plain and rings me up for $2.50. Friendly enough. The pizza was warm, super cheesy but no flavor explosions. The bottom was a bit soggy for a thicker pizza crust, so I had to fold it into a calazone shape. Did the job for cheap, though I wouldn't ever go out of my way to come back. read more

I love piazzas ! I really enjoy their food & how they literally make anything and more that's on the menu. As long as your ask for it ! What I love most about this place is their staff, those guys are so awesome. They have phenomenal customer service at piazzas pizza, that's what keeps me coming back really. All tables are always clean and all condiments for the pizzas are neatly organized to a side. I don't know what it is about their pizza, it may just be made with love, and that's why it taste so good. read more

I've only had pizza here once but I had a great experience. I had a take-out and the guy behind the counter was pretty cool -- he advised I stayed because of the nice weather, etc. I thought my mushroom slice was delicious! Killer scrumptious slice joint. Off the beaten path, so never jam-packed. If they have it ready, try the grandma slice. With a Snapple it's only 5 bucks, and a perfect little meal. Buttery foccacia crust with paper thin tomatoes, sliced fresh mozzarella, julienned strips of roasted red peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, all sprinkled with fresh basil leaves. It's a flavor explosion definitely worth enjoying. Probably one of my favorite slices anywhere in Astoria. read more

I'm not giving the place 1 star I'm giving their burritos 1 star (none if I could) I guess that's what I get for ordering a burrito at a pizzeria...worst ever...and definitely not what it says in the description.. If I could give this place a zero I would. I get a call from the delivery guy telling me he's got a pizza for me, Ive never ordered anything or dined at this place before. I then get an angry call from the counter person at the restaurant telling me that I ordered a pizza, he tells me it's my phone number therefore it was I who ordered it. He insists that nobody can take my number, flawless logic, when there's a high chance someone gave him the wrong phone number or just decided to mess with the restaurant using my number. He sarcastically tells me it's alright and hangs up the phone. I call back to verify just what address they delivered this pizza to, and it's not even my address. Of course I tell this man that it's not right to harass me like that, conversation gets heated and he hangs up the phone. I definitely wouldn't eat or support a restaurant where the people running it behave like this. I was just finishing lunch in the comfort of my home when I started being harassed and accused by these people. read more

Every time I visit NYC, I go back to the pizzeria that we all would go to back in high school. The staff is always super friendly, the place is always clean & the food? Forget about it. It's P E R F E C T every time I go. Don't even get me STARTED on the Zeppoles 15/10 in my opinion read more

Tried this place for the first time today and it's amazing! Pizza was huge, well flavored, reasonably priced, and basically perfect!!! I ordered a plain cheese pie which was the perfect NY style pizza. I also ordered 2 orders of zeppole which are Italian doughnuts with powdered sugar...SOOO good! The price for the large pizza was $15 and 4 pieces of zeppole are $1.50 I highly recommend this place! Way better than a lot of pizza places in Jackson heights/Astoria and definitely better than papa johns, Pizza Hut, etc etc read more

Got a decent slice of cheese pizza here. I like that it's off the beaten path and wasn't crowded. Service was pretty good, the price was right and it wasn't bad at all. Not something I'd go out of my way for but it's good to know that if I'm in the area, there's something around that we can afford and will be a decent meal. read more

If you are a native New Yorker like me, no one knows NY Pizza better and this place rocks take out pizza. I asked for a thin crust pie and cheese calzone. I got both and have to say, hands down THE BEST TAKE OUT PIE in NYC. Rizzos move over, if you want a straight up cheese round pie call Piazza Pizza. My calzone came with a side of marinara sauce that had so much flavor it was better than grandmas! And the Calzone..thin crunchy NOT DOUGHY and full of tasty mozzerella and ricotta :) Ordering tonight! read more

Being lucky enough to live in Astoria, I am at no shortage of great places to eat. Pizza is plentiful, with establishments ranging from midtown-dollar-esque slices to high end artisanal pies. Piazza is somewhere in between. They do a very respectable slice of cheese, but also have a few more adventurous selections on the counter to try. I agree with many here that their buffalo chicken pizza is delicous, and the chicken and broccoli is quite good as well. If you're looking for change-your-life pizza heaven, this isn't it. But, if your tastes and wallet vaguely resemble mine, you won't be disappointed either. read more

Tried this place out for the first time. I was looking for a place that made a good Buffalo Chicken Pizza. My usual pizza place changed ownership last year and since then it has really been bad. I ordered a Large Buffalo Chicken Pizza and we also had a Chicken and Tomatoes Pizza. Both were really good. Will definitely try this place again for other pies, but definitely when I am in the mood for a Buffalo Chicken Pie! read more

Bright restaurant with standard tables and chairs on a raised step above the counter. A tv blares shows above the beverages. I got two slices for $6: white pizza and buffalo chicken. The buffalo chicken slice had a lot of flavor, but the white pizza tasted mostly like ricotta. The dough wasn't salty enough [for me]. However, service was quick, and I liked the family feel (e.g., handwritten, short "specials" menu - don't miss it!). read more

Where's the sauce? This was some of the driest pizza I've ever had. The crust was thin and crisp. The slice itself was large in portion size. There was a decent amount of cheese but the sauce was missing in action. Based on that I opted not to try any of the other food. Pizza has three main components; dough, sauce, and cheese. If you're missing one of those components It makes for an unbalanced slice. We ended up going to another pizzeria down the block that knew the deal. There must the SAUCE! Overall it's one of the larger more spacious pizzeria's in the area. There are several tables where you can sit and it has more of a restaurant feel than the small places that only have a few booths or places that are just walk in and take out style. There is also a bathroom for customers which is a plus because some other nearby pizzeria's can't accommodate. If you have a larger group, or a family with kids this would be a more convenient choice in terms of the location and space but it's definitely not the best pizzeria in the area. read more

Astoria's pizza scene is a difficult one for me to navigate. The pies in this 'hood are either extremely oily with floppy crust or delicious , but over priced gourmet pies. Sometimes a girl just wants a comfortable and delicious pie and nothing more. Piazza's Sicilian pie is where it's at people!!!! With deep, golden crust, and not overly greasy their Sicilian pie is a win. I prefer this pizza to the traditional NYC rounds I have tasted and it holds up during delivery! You can expect to find your pie intact and not jumbled against the bottom of the box. I would recommend ordering it with extra sauce though, the crust is over powering otherwise. This girl likes a saucy pie! read more

This is my go-to pizza and pasta place for delivery in Astoria. It always arrives super fast and hot! Probably the best pizza I've found in Astoria. The large pizza is HUGE, while the small pizza is big enough to fill two! The buffalo wings are always good, never soggy, always crispy and delicious, The pastas are also great. The Fettuccinni Alfredo is phenomenal, especially when you add to it. Chicken or shrimp are great in it, but you have to add vegetables. It comes with broccoli, mushrooms, and asparagus... Faaaantastic! The stuffed shells and lasagna are also really good. If you want pizza delivered, call up these guys. Or dine in, it's a stones throw off Steinway. You'll be happy you did. read more

Two stars is a bit generous....and only because delivery was quick, the prices are cheap-ish, now I know where to get Taco Bell-style food near me, and they may have other items which are decent. Howsomever, this is an encyclopedia level of "You get what you pay for." Though, with the pesto dish, rip off. Order bolognese (with fettuccini substitution), and linguini pesto (add chicken and veggies). They made the substitution. But both pastas were beyond overcooked, as in fell apart when trying to transfer from the delivery container into a bowl. Near mush consistency when eaten. Bolognese was loaded with liquid smoke, and tasted just as fake. Pesto was fine, but vegetables are frozen green bean/corn blend from a bag (possible from a can...couldn't tell...and had to hunt to find a few little mini nubs of chicken (honestly, could hardly find any). Really not sure either can stand up to being reheated for lunches (as they were intended to be). Might be a complete throw away. Maybe the pizza is decent. Forgot to mention I ordered up a steak quesadilla. There was what I presume to have been steak....cheese....and two tortillas. Taste just like taco bell...but "homemade"? But won't try again, unless I want Taco Bell and can't get it, due to the really shameful display on the pasta. read more
