I have lived in the neighborhood for around two years and never went to this place until today, I am very happy! Ordered a large margarita pizza and garlic knots at 7 PM on a Friday night and it only took 20 minutes! $32 for the pizza, garlic knots, and 20 ounce soda. Lots of seating for a small place and an absolutely massive menu. The crust was a little too doughy but I know plenty of people who like it like that. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Seeking the right pizzeria close to home. After a few bad experiences elsewhere I ordered from here. Lady on the phone was polite but could barely hear the order due to background noise from a child. Luckily order went in and delivery came. Mixed peppers and sausage, couldve had more topping. Decent pie in size. Flavor was good, pizza was crispy and cheesy but could def use a bit more tomato sauce. After a few bites it felt dry so hopefully they can add more so the slice stays moist. I noticed this pizzeria in my neighborhood for the longest time and finally decided to give it a go. I ordered three slices of pizza, all of which were very fresh. I also went for the garlic knots (five pieces for $2.50) and Mexican Coca Cola (if you don't have a beer opener, ask them to open it for you). Mexican Coca-Cola taste different than usual Coca-Cola. I'm sure people have noticed this already. My total for all that came out to be $14, which is pretty good. There seems to be a lot of space in this place and they have a large television screen as well. They also have cute historic Queens photos, which were very interesting to see (especially the Neighbourhood of Jackson Heights). I didn't notice any air-conditioning in this place. Update - please, please be careful when you order their soup! No one should have to experience this horror. We ordered dinner from them again after having a long day. I wanted to give their soup another try so I went with the lentil soup and shared it with my son. He bit into the 1st plastic piece last night and I bit into the 2nd one this morning after saving it for leftovers, hoping that would be the only piece. As you can see these are very pointy and sharp pieces and could have done damage to ones mouth. I have already filed a complaint with DOH and reported this to Seamless. Please be careful! read more

I don't think I've actually ever ordered pizza from here- though the beef patties are the standard. My family orders from this place often on weekends when we want lasagna. We've had red sauce pastas like lasagna and eggplant parmigiana, but lately we have started ordering chicken alfredo and ordering a new sauce- penne alla vodka with chicken. They are more flavorful- not dry, creamy and the chicken even seems grilled. There might have been a change in cook, but whatever it is the pastas taste better. I've just had an issue once when ordering delivery because the order seemed to not go through and so I've started picking up. Horrible customer service. Placed an order through grubhub. The grubhub driver bent the pizza box. When I opened the box all the cheese was stuck to the top of the box. Grubhub issued a full refund. I usually order from here for myself and my kids 3-4 times a week but after today's experience I'll never order again. I ordered a pie for my kids because it's their favorite. It arrived late and to top it off it was not edible. It was messed up and folded in half like the delivery driver was flipping the box. The worst part was that after speaking to gianni's they wouldn't replace the pie. So after waiting an hour and a half I had to tell my daughter and son they weren't having pizza. Gianni Pizza, this spot hits me right in the childhood, a classic New York City slice of pizza and to this day my favorite pizza to eat in new york because the taste of nostalgia that comes with it. The Pizza has the perfect combination of cheese, marinara sauce and greases. The greases ooze and make the experience far better than a lot of other pizzas. Don't be fooled by the negative reviews, Gianni pizza is the way to go. Going into the pizzeria you get the authentic Italian food feeling and you can feel that the pizzas are made with passion. Growing up in queens as a child this was the closest pizza spot to me so I would always walk to Giannis with my uncle, creating some of my happiest days with each bite of their juicy and tasteful slices of pizza. I order from here all the time. I tonight i decided to try a wrap which is not usually what i order. They told me 20 minutes which is fine. After about 30 minutes i look to the back and to see what is taking so long, and i notice the woman making my food was wrapping up touching my food without wearing gloves. You cannot handle ready to eat food with bare hands by law. I asked the man if she was touching my food with bare hands and he said they constantly wash their hands. Gianni's was our go-to pizza place in Jackson Heights. Sadly, it's not anymore. Since the beginning of summer the food has deteriorated. (My guess is the original owners sold to someone else.) The calzone that we ordered tonight was inedible -- stale and mushy pizza dough with a tiny bit of mozzarella and a tiny bit of ricotta cheese -- and slices of meatballs. It hardly resembled the calzones of Gianni's past. The Tortellini soup was just okay, but with way too too much black pepper. The last time we ordered pizza, it was stale and inedible. I placed my order through the seamless app. I called after 60 minutes and was told it was on its way. Another 30 minutes pass and I call again to be told by a completely different person answering the phone, "it is on its way now; give it like five minutes. " I told the second person who answered I had been given that information 30 minutes prior. He either did not listen to me or did not care! I tend to be very lenient with delivery times since I used to work as a delivery person, but this is truly unacceptable to me. There is no excuse for telling me one thing then telling me the same thing 30 minutes later. After a full hour and 45mins, the delivery showed up...just now. I think an owner was the one delivering. He was very apologetic and said a cook and two others did not show up today, w/o reason. He apologized again saying the shop was really in the weeds today and he appreciated my patience. I might have thought he was being dismissive and placating, but he did the honorable thing by: A) doing deliveries himself to cover B) being apologetic & offering an explanation C) making sure I knew he had called seamless already himself(!) to have the cost of my order fully refunded for the massive delay D) being very honest/sincere about the whole shop being off today and not BS-ing about it and throwing a particular person under the bus. If it was an owner who delivered today, brava sir. As I said at my door, I've spent many years in food service and I know it can sometimes hit the fan w/o warning. I've never liked Gianni's pizza. It's not very flavorful, if you get them by the slice it's not crispy, just thin. Also they're a bit small. There are better options in the area. Gianni's pizza is somewhat like dollar pizza. Only it's not a $1, but if it were Id still only give it 3 stars max. This is my local pizzeria so I come here all the time. They sell very standard solid pizza here. It won't knock your socks off, but it will satisfy your pizza cravings. Their Sicilian slice is pretty bomb and their chicken rolls are pretty good too, but it's all about the plain slice for me. It's not bad, but I've definitely had better plain slices at other places. The interior is a nice little pizzeria that can comfortably seat you and your friends and the serves get you your pizza quick. Quite disappointed. While the delivery took a little more than an hour, and the delivery guy was pleasant, the pizza was not what I ordered. I ordered the extra large grandma pie with pepperoni. The pie that arrived was the same size as every other grandma pie I've had in other restaurants, and not the "extra large" I believe I paid extra $ for. To be fair, I completely forgot that I tried this place last year, and wrote a review (this is what happens when you drink too much, Christopher...). So I tried them again, this time for a special calzone, pasta with spinach, penne alla vodka with chicken, pasta bolognese, and pasta with pesto. They've improved. The calzone was solid, and of the area options I researched, they had the most options for add-ins. Pasta with spinach? Eh. Frozen spinach. A bit bland, but hearty, and nothing a little seasoning didn't help. Vodka pasta? Doable. Big portion, nice balance of sauce, protein, and starch. Probably frozen chicken. And needed a little garlic to help it out. But decent. Pasta bolognese was really nice, though didn't come with the peas as advertised. Pasta pesto was really awesome. I was a bit thrown off when there were tons of sun-dried tomatoes up in that joint....but it all worked, and was the pasta star. Friday nights are usually my pizza nights with my family and i have to say Gianni's easily has one of the best cheese pies! Their slices are almost out of a cartoon, great cheese pull, not overly sauces, baked great and an amazing crust! It's not salty or overly greasy! Their burgers are also better than the surrounding pizzerias in the Jackson Heights/East Elmhurst area. Their burgers are tasty, not greasy, doesn't fall apart and stacked the right way with all it's condiments. Not a big fan of their Gyro but it's a decent size. A bit messy due to all the extra lettuce they throw in. 9/10 would recommend for a nice lunch or dinner. read more

Found this place by chance on Google. Ordered a cheesesteak for delivery. They took over an hour to deliver the food and they made my cheesesteak wrong. By the time my order finally got here, the fries (which were pretty much tasteless) were cold as well. This place is way over-priced for the quality of food they provide. I called the restaurant and they were willing to fulfill my order. I asked if they had baked ziti since they didn't have the Manicotti and they didn't have that either. I asked for Ravioli and parmigiana and they told me they only had ravioli so I agreed because it was getting late and I was starving. I asked for garlic bread as well. Food arrived pretty quick but did not meet my expectations at all. The sauce was dark and spicy and I wasn't expecting spicy marinera. Around the neighborhood we call them 'tug boats' because they are completely thick and long like a tug boat.
