I have been here several times and they have been great. They are a wonderful place to celebrate birthdays. The food is really good. They have given us free stuff before which is super generous. They've accommodated my million allergies without a problem. I highly recommend the pizzas. The desserts are great. Everyone has loved the food.

Sotte Le Stelle is a gem. It's romantic but not stuffy, the food is excellent and the service goes above and beyond to be accommodating and friendly. The food is so good that I recommend ordering family style and sharing a bunch of dishes. For me, the stars (no pun intended) are the exceptional Diavola pizza and its sibling, the Angel And Devil pizza (the only difference as far as I can tell is the hot honey on the A&D). For pasta, I recommend the exceptionally fresh and delicious carbonara. Last, you have to do the Nutella Calzone for dessert. It is a sight to behold, and you will surprise yourself by how quickly you can make this enormous, doughy, Nutella-oozing delight disappear.

Food here was very authentic, from an Italian cook as stated by our server. My wife who was raised in Milan, Italy approved of their food - confirming the authenticity of flavors. Highly recommend their pizza with prosciutto, arugula, and ricotta - with a balsamic reduction drizzled on top. Flavors really harmonize topping off with the wood-fired crust flavor on the head. Wash it all down with a Peroni that is on tap - not bottled and you have yourself a meal. Service was kind and hospitable, one of the servers was from Italy herself and my wife enjoyed a conversation with her in Italian. The inside is quite spacious, with seating for parties of 2 or 4, even 6. Plenty of seating for you and a couple of friends. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic Italian food. Did I mention they also have a happy hour from 4-6pm?

Never disappoints! One of my favorite Italian restaurants in NYC. Such cozy space. Friendly, quick and attentive service. We shared the fritto misto, special risotto, and funghi pizza. Ended with the panna cotta and chocolate cake. Cappuccino was delightful.

Service was excellent! Restaurant was warm and cozy. The dishes were tasty and portions were a good size.

Excellent service. Delicious restaurant with a very bright heated patio. Must be amazing in the summer when it's opened. I had a pizza and the dough is like the one I have in Italy when I go: my favorite (sorry nyc pizza, you rank second for me).

Perfect cozy place for brunch on a weekend! The Angel and Devil pizza is always a good idea and the Spaghetti Carbonora is phenomenal, the serving is for one person. Great vibes and friendly staff. Overall, highly recommend!

Sotto Le Stelle was recommended by a friend, and I finally got around to trying it. Their wood-fired pizza menu has a ton of variety, including one shaped like a star. We naturally had to go with the star-shaped one and it was delicious, though the center was a bit too floppy. The crust, however, was incredible, and the ricotta inside really elevated the already amazing dough. We also tried the mussels, which were super fresh, and the tomato-based sauce they came in complemented them perfectly! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was great. It's actually bigger on the inside. Definitely worth the visit. Would be coming by again the next time I'm craving this type of pizza.

So glad I found this place to enjoy pizza, I really love wood fire pizza and we enjoyed the margarita and their appetizer of the meatballs (definitely always order)! Love the ambiance of the place, there's a heated patio in the back too. The service was quick and friendly!

The pizza looked so good! And the ambience and service was so nice, but the food was a strong miss. Both the Angel and Devil Pizza ($19.50) and Star Pizza ($21.50) fell apart when trying to grab them. The Star Pizza crust had extra cheese inside them, which was cool. It was easier to chew than the Angel and Devil's. Maybe their pasta is better than their pizzas, but I wouldn't come back.

There's nothing I can say about this place that hasn't been said in all the other reviews, food is great , service is great , price point is great , so many reasons to come here ,but the two top ones for you should be 1. they they are one of the only resturants in queens that make cabonara with the love and respect it deserves , no freaking spaghetti in Alfredo sauce with bacon here..yeah im looking at you Parkside 2... Five words , the goddamn ferrero rocher tart! Just ughhh godamn .. An amazing place to hang out ,drink some wine, and pick on some of the best Italian food in Queens . Highly recomended

There was overlap in terms of this place. Seeing as how I have a good wood fired artisan pizza place in my job this should be decent I said to myself. As I enter I'm greeted immediately with a smile by what seemed like the day manager. As I'm sat down and poured my water I almost am already convinced which pizza I want but I look through just to read the nice lists of ingredients and picture each pie mentally. I ordered this nice pie with sausage and grano padano and notice I can add certain toppings. I chose egg because why not make it a pizza brunch? Pizza comes quick and hot. Tastes delightfully sweet and the char adds personality. The place is nice and rustic, warm and inviting btw. I appreciate the runner/busser as they operated as I would( I am one myself). They were quick and efficient in turning the table that just left, making sure he cleans the table in the same motion. The sunlight revealed a dirty table next to me so not all is perfect there. All in all though a tasty and pleasant experience. I would come back with friends to try more food and do a little day drinking. Nice spot in a cozy area of Astoria. Would recommend.

And love that this place isn't far from my home. They have a few options for vegan toppings in addition to the vegan cheese, so I got the vegan pepperoni (and the employee working there let me read the ingredients to make sure it was gluten-free, and it was). I was also able to do a no-sauce pizza since I can't do tomato sauce anymore. Perhaps some sauce would have made the crust less hard and crunchy, but while delicious, my pizza was hard and crunchy. Even the cute little branded pizza cutter that came with my pizza had a hard time making slices. But it was tasty and satisfied my craving for pizza. Nowhere near the best vegan gluten-free pizza I've ever had but it'll do the job well enough. And it's a little pricey but it's specialty ingredients, I suppose. Not something I'd get on a regular basis but maybe on special occasions.

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

The fish was cooked to perfection, the cannelli beans I thought were going to be weird but it added a nice creaminess to the fish. This should be put on the regular menu. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=xNVfJCmf89OOY-1ME3FY7Q Controfiletto- grilled prime angus N.Y. strip steak served with roasted marble potatoes. I hate to say it but as good as the steak was, the roasted potatoes was the star of show. The potatoes were amazing. Pappardelle alla Bolognese- housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce. This was good but came off a bit plain. The pasta was homemade but it was almost to a fault since the pasta came out too soft. The flavors were good but I felt this would have been a better, reheated the next day kind of dish.

Our server was very attentive, friendly, and on top of everything throughout the meal. No complaints there at all. As for the food, it was honestly very lackluster. The best thing we had all night was the small original pizza, which I actually really enjoyed. The crust and flavor on that were solid. Unfortunately, the spaghetti with marinara sauce was a huge disappointment. At $22 just for the pasta, plus an additional $4 for ONE meatball, I expected so much more. It ended up being a $26 plate of pasta that, in my opinion, had almost no flavor. I kept wanting seasoning, salt, garlic -- something to make it stand out. It was just very bland. My husband ordered the polenta starter with shiitake mushrooms and bolognese sauce, which was okay, but nothing memorable. For the three food items, one cappuccino, and a sparkling water, the bill came to about $110 with tip. For that price point, I expected to leave impressed, especially after hearing the hype. Sadly, this just wasn't a place I'd personally return to. I truly wanted to enjoy it more.
