So an update . This Pizza ( I'm only talking about delivery , I've never set foot in the place ) is worth a shot , with caveats . Closest to my apartment I still order from them but have kind of figured out the code , if you order your pie on Friday or Saturday night your more likely to get the floppy gooey mess pizza that frankly sucks . Order off rush time and it's pretty good. Crusty ,well put together and tasty . So we've taken to ordering , freezing and reheating in the oven and it's really a tasty pie ! Wanted to try out a new pizza place, so when I saw the pictures here I felt like I was in good hands. And good news, I definitely was! The house special was delicious. Perfect amount of sauce, the crust stayed nice and crispy but chewy. The chipotle sauce is flavorful, though not spicy. Also the garlic knots are exactly what I'm looking for in a garlic knot--cheesy, herby, stretchy. The marinara sauce was slightly sweet, a great pairing with the knots. Pickup was quick and easy. Stumbled upon this new pizzeria on St. Patrick's day . The luck of the Irish blessed my girlfriend and I on this lucky day with some of my favorite New York style pizza I've ever had. I have since told every pizza connoisseur I know about this place. Next to Sanger Hall on 49th st. Across from Alcove! Crispy, crunchy, not too much grease, perfect size and ingredients are excellent! High quality pies here and they do their own deliveries with their own staff. Getting sick of the conformation to Uber eats and others like it that just have zero accountability for the food being delivered. The owner Leonardo is really nice and welcoming. Im returning customer so this must be my third time buying from Leonardo's . I had delivery of Supreme today! Supreme pie is with pepperoni cups,sweet Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms,red onion, red peppers, tomato sauce and ages mozzarella. Let me tell you besides red peppers & red onion good luck finding the rest of the ingredients. The sauce was running out of the box . Today's order was a mess and I doubt we will be ordering again! I am there weekly and so far I've had ceasar, upside down, plain, pepperoni, bbq chicken, and supremo slice slices. I also ordered a classic 2.0 pie and it was just perfect, such a classic but so good. The dough is cooked perfectly. I do like asking for extra time in the oven, the crust has a nice crunch. My cuz who lives in the area and is a cheap bastard offered to treat me to some pizza at a new local pizza joint and I was in shocked to say no. Nice no frills pizza joint with booth seating and simple menu of pizza with different types of toppings , with a bunch on display for the pickings . One mushroom and one margarita slice with a cold diet coke set my cuz back 10 bucks and he seemed ok about it .As for the slices , it's refreshing when a pizza joint stays in it's old school ways and keeps it simple with the menu and not going overboard with to many different items . This is the absolute best pizza I've had in Woodside/Sunnyside in decades. The sauce is flavorful, the crust is perfect and the cheese is high-quality and delicious. I ordered a pizza last night for delivery that unfortunately provided the wrong address. The delivery man called to say he was there, and when I went to retrieve the pizza and he wasn't in front of my residence, I called him and we figured out he was at the wrong location ( about 10 blocks away). He called me when he was at my residence and showed me his order slip that it was not his fault and he was sorry that it took so long to deliver my pizza. I'm not sure if if was on my end, or a glitch or whatever, this man was so gracious and lovely. I felt his concern/nervousness when he gave me my order as if there was fear that he would be repromanded/ fired/yelled at, etc and I told him that things happen and to not worry about it and thanked him so much for his efforts. I actually teared up a bit afterward as I thought that these delivery folks are doing their best with what they have, and getting paid so little and just grateful to be useful and working. Please remember to be kind. I hope the rest of his day was better. read more

This will be a simple review. Leo is friendly and definitely a people person. His pizzas are good, and sometimes goes outside the box in creating different pizzas. Either way, his basic pizza ranks, in my opinion, one of the best in sunnyside aside from Sotte Le Stelle. A different style of pizza, yes - neopolitan - but as far as Italian Za's go, Leonardo's is the place. The only other pizza joint worth mentioning is Philomenas. All the others are typical NY style pizza you can get on any street corner in Manhattan. Definitely recommended and light years ahead of what used to be there. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.
