Food is heavy and delicious. Service can be amazing. Atmosphere is a little charming. I enjoy their food. Especially their specialty with the seafood with a baked bread. Service is good. They are always changing our dishes and the food comes fast. Ambiance can be great. Easy on the ear to talk.

Always tasty food with attentive service. If you close your eyes it's almost like you are eating in a small family restaurant smack in the middle of Tuscany. The only place in the USA I know of serving authentic Picci pasta, a delucious thick solid pasta. Last night at Tuscan Hills I loved their Signature dish. Incredible Ciopinno with a 6 ounce pizza dough top made to order for me mindful of my dietary needs with less salt less protein extra veggies very very yummy. This restaurant is great. Highly recommended!!!!

Glad I finally made it to Tuscan Hills. It had been on my list for a while! The gnocchi fritto was amazing, four little zeppole-like pastries topped with prosciutto. Sweet, savory, and super tasty. The cacciucco (a seafood stew in tomato sauce) was loaded with seafood and came under a flaky bread crust it's really hearty and flavorful. For dessert, we had the lemon sorbet, which came served inside a frozen lemon, super refreshing and fun. Wanted to try another dessert too, but they were out. Service was kind of all over the place, friendly at times, but also slow and a little scattered. Also, heads up: they offer a 3% cash discount. Overall, great food, I would come back!

This place never misses. We came to eat on a Saturday night at 6pm. Our table that we reserved was ready. We were greeted right away. This place was definitely business and that's because the food, drinks, and atmosphere are amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine, the meat and cheese platter, chicken saltabocca, lasagna, and a pizza. The food was on point, the service was great, and the price was right. We will definitely be back. Sorry no pictures of the food, we were starving lol.

    Penne alla Vodka with Chicken
    Carina H.

The Penne alla Vodka was made with what looks like fettuccine, which was unexpected when I ordered hand-made but good. The complimentary bread was nice warm and dipped into olive oil. It was soft. The Small Caprese Pizza didn't have a crispy crust, but it was thin and had a nice crust that was chewy outside but soft inside. I can't speak to ambiance but this was a delivery order, but the delivery service didn't take too long.

Solid Italian cuisine with many menu options. The pizza is light and crispy with a slightly sweet crust. Large portions and friendly service. The restaurant is centrally located and has a classic Italian decor.

    Chicken Tuscan
    Rodge M.

Ordered the Chicken Tuscan for take out. 90% rigatoni with the minuscule amount of chicken being very hard, dry, and flavorless. The other ingredients mentioned in the menu, mushroom and sun dried tomatoes, were in an even shorter supply. Offensively stingy for a $24 pasta. Not even a large portion of rigatoni. An absurd lack of value for the price.

    Fettucine al limone e Gamberi
    Melissa T.

I ordered via Ubereats for this order. The fettuccine al limone e gamberi was exceptional except for two reasons: I found the pasta to be slightly undercooked. It was almost al dente but missed the mark. Secondly, the amount of shrimp given didn't seem satisfactory for the price of the dish. I am not too well versed on tiger shrimp prices but I feel they could've at least given 3-5 shrimps to balance out the amount of pasta given. The lemony cream sauce was just what I was craving.

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.

It went nicely with the arugula and the freshness of the citrus. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=WXs8evyJarabbHv9XVj6fw Melanzane alla Parmigiana- breaded eggplant, mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil. This was basically an eggplant parm and the eggplant was cooked perfectly, the cheese was ok but the sauce made this dish really tasty with the nice homemade focaccia they give you in the beginning. Branzino Special with Cannelli Beans and Swiss Chard. This was the winner of the evening. The cripsy skin was amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection, the cannelli beans I thought were going to be weird but it added a nice creaminess to the fish. Lastly the swiss chard was crunchy on the ends and nice and tender on the leaf. This should be put on the regular menu. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=xNVfJCmf89OOY-1ME3FY7Q Controfiletto- grilled prime angus N.Y. strip steak served with roasted marble potatoes. I hate to say it but as good as the steak was, the roasted potatoes was the star of show. The potatoes were amazing. Pappardelle alla Bolognese- housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce. This was good but came off a bit plain. The pasta was homemade but it was almost to a fault since the pasta came out too soft. The flavors were good but I felt this would have been a better, reheated the next day kind of dish.

The walls were Southwest in Color and decorated with unique artifacts. It was very "artsy" and very Forest Hills. Now, with a recent re-do of the decor, I can best describe it as "Generic Long Island Restaurant". Gone is the uniqueness and in its place are generic white tablecloths and a conservative color scheme. SERVICE; i recognize that finding servers is difficult these days, but the service here didn't even reach diner standards. First, the wrong mixed drink was brought to the table. Then, the mixed drink that was brought as a replacement, which at least looked correct, didn't taste correct. Other reviewers have noted this issue as well, and for $17.00 it should have been exemplary! The server seemed to be limited to a dialogue of "cheese or pepper?". DISHES: We had the tuna tartar and Tagliatelli specials as well as the Apple Salad and the Penne with Asparagus "a la vodka". The tuna tartar had an "off taste". The Tagliatelli was OK. The two pasta dishes were served in round plates that looked unique but weren't appropriate for the pasta. The Apple Salad was way overly dressed and the dressing overpowered any flavor that the ingredients may have had. There were very few Apple Slices as well. Dessert was the Cream Brulee which was OK but, again served in a plate that was more appropriate for Flan. Overall, Il Poeta is worth visiting if you plan to be in area but I would no longer go out of my way to dine there.

The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness.
