This is probably my third time here since moving to the area. I love how rustic this place feels. Service is always on point. The owner or manager always check on the tables. Food wise, how can you go wrong with great ingredients and good classic cooking? I was eating kosher for passover this time. I had the Branzino al forno. A whole grilled fish with potatoes and salad. It was incredible. Perfectly charred, meaty and delicious. The fish was so flavorful. The salad with the lemon on it was the perfect accompaniment. Will definitely get this again. Delicious meal with good service. We had a group of five with a child. We started with an arugula and beans salad (Pecorino e Fagioli) as well as baked clams. Both were well prepared. For entrees we had some specials- pappardelle al guanciale and asparagus, fettuccine with shrimp and pesto, seafood stew (cacciucco for one), gnocchi with spicy sausage (Boscaiola), and a risotto ai fruitti di mare. I ate the pappardelle and tasted the others. Next time I'm getting the gnocchi which was nice and light - the way I like my gnocchi. We ended with tartufo. The food is mediocre Italian, not very flavorful, however I remained a loyal customer for over 10 years because I have celiac disease and this is one of the only Italian restaurants in the area that can accommodate gluten allergies. Well, that is until I ordered on Uber Eats and received a message from the restaurant that they cannot accommodate my allergy. I ordered grilled chicken parmigiana with a side of gluten free pasta. They said they cannot accommodate side orders of gluten free pasta, even though they have in the past and I paid an extra fee. I even suggested they charge me the cost difference of a full size pasta. Instead, they refused to accommodate my allergy request and told me to cancel my order, which I did. I will never ever give this restaurant my business again after this. If you have celiac or avoid gluten, find a different restaurant. read more

Glad I finally made it to Tuscan Hills. It had been on my list for a while! The gnocchi fritto was amazing, four little zeppole-like pastries topped with prosciutto. Sweet, savory, and super tasty. The cacciucco (a seafood stew in tomato sauce) was loaded with seafood and came under a flaky bread crust it's really hearty and flavorful. For dessert, we had the lemon sorbet, which came served inside a frozen lemon, super refreshing and fun. Wanted to try another dessert too, but they were out. Always tasty food with attentive service. If you close your eyes it's almost like you are eating in a small family restaurant smack in the middle of Tuscany. The only place in the USA I know of serving authentic Picci pasta, a delucious thick solid pasta. Last night at Tuscan Hills I loved their Signature dish. This place never misses. We came to eat on a Saturday night at 6pm. Our table that we reserved was ready. We were greeted right away. This place was definitely business and that's because the food, drinks, and atmosphere are amazing. We ordered a bottle of wine, the meat and cheese platter, chicken saltabocca, lasagna, and a pizza. The Penne alla Vodka was made with what looks like fettuccine, which was unexpected when I ordered hand-made but good. The complimentary bread was nice warm and dipped into olive oil. It was soft. The Small Caprese Pizza didn't have a crispy crust, but it was thin and had a nice crust that was chewy outside but soft inside. Went this past Saturday night with 3 friends. It was pouring out that night and we had a reservation. They seated us by the door where the cold air was coming in along with the cold air coming from the restaurant. We asked to be moved inside which they did and seated us in their inside room by the window. We were wet from the pouring rain and ice cold as the restaurant was cold as we think they had the a/c on. I mentioned to the manager I was freezing to which he replied he was warm. The service was terrible as it was like we were the forgotten table. We asked if we could get bread for the table as the other tables had bread on them and a few minutes later they come out with a bread that surely wasn't Italian and told us that they ran out of Italian bread. The bread was ice cold as they had to go to the supermarket and buy it. We told the manager and he warmed the bread for us. What Italian restaurant runs out of Italian bread on a Saturday night?? 2 friends shared an appetizer of mozzarella, zucchini and eggplant which came in a plate of oil. My friend said the eggplant was hard and that there was no mozzarella. She pointed this out to the manager and he said the slab of bread was the mozzarella! He let them select something else which they did. After dinner we ordered cappuccinos which came out like water at this point we were so disgusted. As a "courtesy" they gave us a piece of tiramisu cake on the house. We asked for the check, paid and left. There were a few other things I could mention but there is no point as I do know I won't be going back nor will my friends. read more

In past dined in and now drop in and wait for orders in the easygoing romantic ambience. Even when at restaurant buzz, front house has calm eager energy when waiting and still easy to hear conversation. Eager staff wants you to enjoy. I noticed while waiting (again boundaries), a customer wanted penne instead of spaghetti pasta -immediately switch made,no hesitation. There is option of gluten free pasta. spaghetti pompdord sauce perfectly bright, then I have them add sausage pieces which heavies the pomp, but deee-lish. Marinated New Zealand lamb chops, favorite of mine, comes with salad and roast potatoes (sorry Taters not keto).The tiramisu, cannoli's, cheesecakes, caramel flan are decadent. Vegetable sides of broccoli, asparagus, potatoes, multitude of salads, and a main of mozzarella over eggplant bake, just a few veg seasoned and well prepared, if craving. Seafood- fish, shrimp, calamari all good; There is Gambera Toscana (?Sp) which to me tastes expertly ?sautéd cooked (not a chef,what do I know) with shrimp, cannellini beans, radicchio, bits of bacon, ?kale bits in wine. I am not too well versed on tiger shrimp prices but I feel they could've at least given 3-5 shrimps to balance out the amount of pasta given. The bread and olive paste was also a great touch! For my main, I had the rigatoni alla norma and it was absolutely delicious. Pasta was cooked to al dente perfection, and the sauce was perfect. Often dishes like this one have a thick, heavy sauce, but this sauce was light, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted! The same could be said for the fettuccini alla diavolo that my friend had. Driving home after a long day, we called Marco, the proprietor to hold a table for us, which he graciously did. We arrived an hour later, famished and weary. Our delicious meal of Prosciutto with Melone, Penne Al Ragu, and Caccio and Pepe with Sausage, paired with a glass of Montelpuciano for me and a Peroni for my beloved was beyond delicious. Wow I regret not visiting this place more often. Their menu will satisfy anyone. Service was friendly and accommodating. We asked for wine by the glass recommendations and they let us sip a little before deciding. Free bread and mashed olives in oil- almost a tapenade? Appetizers- arugula salad was good Gamberi alla tuscanaccia which was delicious and very different - shrimp , white beans, bacon, onions , radicchio in a white wine sauce. The combo was fantastic Braised mine made meatballs which I didn't taste but my company didn't rave about it. Great bread on the table with dipping oil Mains - chicken parm which the person said was eh- sauce a little bitter Baked eggplant parm - very good Gnocchi Boscaiola. Pink sauce spicy sausage, mushrooms -was told it wasn't great. Not sure why My dish was their signature - cacciucco - which is a Tuscan fish stew which is covered with a crunchy bread topping that looks like a pie. The food is hit or miss depending on what you order. Had their special which was pear pasta, very interesting and good. DO NOT GET the pesto. It's the only dish that was disappointing, tasted like spinach/other stuff that isn't pesto. The add on chicken cutlet for the penne alla vodka was good. The calamari is a MUST. The best calamari I tried. The service is okay, feels like they are understaff. It was hard to get the attention of a server but they were quick to give us water refills. Hubby found this place because of IG since we live near by we had to come give it a try. Drinks, I had the Limoncello spritz i liked it hubby had a Margarita it was alright. They start u off w some Bread & Olive paste, very good. Appetizers we went with the Burrata omgg this was amazing melts in your mouth good, the prosciutto combo with bread & olive oil they give u is delicious, we also tried the Zucchini flowers fried but not bad at all good with the sauce. On the food the Tartufina pizza was great, nice thin crust very good with prosciutto, arugula & truffle oil. we also had the Saltimbocca di Pollo, nice grilled chicken white wine sauce & mash potatoes which were better because of the sauce. Next time around, drinks Limoncello spritz & Italian Nut both good options. Appetizer , Arancini they were very good good dipping sauce. The food was phenomenal. I came here for my 30th Birthday because i heard so many good things about the food here. I had the braised beef ravioli and it did NOT disappoint. The sauce was creamy to perfection and the beef was on point. My homegirl had the lobster ravioli and I tried a bit and was a tad disappointed. I'm sure it tasted phenomenal the next day though. We are not fans of pizza but we highly recommend pizza & pasta from Tuscan Hills. We ordered via Ubereats and the process went smoothly. We ordered 2 appetizers (Calamari Fritti and Polpo Alla Luciana), 2 salads (Rughetta and Caesar Salad), one Spaghetti Carbonara and 3 large pizzas (Fiammata, Tuscan Hills and Margherita) to share with a group of 10 people. The portion was more than enough and we had some leftover to finish as our dinner. Everything was amazingly delicious, especially the pizza and the pasta which were cooked perfectly and comforting. My personal favorite was the Polpo Alla Luciana, the octopus was braised tender and flavorful, one of the best octopus dishes I have ever had in NYC. read more

Disappointed visit. I came here earlier this year for a birthday and got their smoked salmon alla vodka, which tasted fantastic, so I came back. However, during this second visit, I was disappointed. The appetizer ordered--mozzarella, tomato, and basil--was tasteless. I had to add salt and olive oil for taste. I, of course, ordered the smoked salmon alla vodka again, and it didn't have as much salmon as I remembered when I first had it. I would have called it an off night. However, no one ever came to ask if everything was okay or if I wanted another glass of sangria. Also, the busser kept throwing plates and glasses so loudly instead of placing them on the tables, which made me anxious. I couldn't enjoy dinner as I had hoped. I also had to get up and pay my check at the stand since no one came to ask if I needed anything else or was ready for the check. Second and last visit for me. read more
