Small restaurant with great food. I came here by myself as I happened to be at an appointment nearby and I was hungry. The staff and the host were very nice from beginning to end. I started off with the water melon feta salad which was to die for. It was very refreshing and just what I needed. For my main course I had the ricotta cavatelli pasta with added sausage. It was one of the best pastas I've had here in the U.S. I will definitely come back for this. For dessert I had the passion fruit ricotta. It was flavorful and had a side of strawberries. I can't believe I just found out about this place after living only 5 minutes away for the last 6 years...... This place is gooood, local, friendly and delicious. They started us with some bread and marinara sauce and the sauce definitely opened up our appetite and had us anticipating of what's to come. Then the to-die-for appetizer came, the mushroom ricotta cheese thinging it's sooooooooooooooooooo freaking delicious!!!!! I can't explain it, you'll have to put that cheese on the baked bread, then eat it together with the mushrooms to experience what we experienced.... Soooo good!! We had their shaved brussel sprouts appetizer - tasty. I had special fuzi pasta which was hearty and tasty with some veal whereas my friend had their seasonal special - a pumpkin pasta. The restaurant was very homey waited by a kind college student server who was very courteous and attentive. The server also told us ahead of time when ordering our biscotti dessert that they would offer biscotti at the end of the meal. Always a pleasure visiting Fuzi. My boyfriend and I wanted a nice, non-fast food bite before catching a movie and I immediately thought of Fuzi. I had their "simple pasta" --rigatoni arrabiatta with chicken--that was far from "simple." My man had their pesto tortellini special and loved how fresh and light the pesto was. For dessert, their panna cotta is so unique with the added pop rocks, and I can vouch for their tiramisu as well. This spot has a very home-y feel. I've been here twice with my girlfriend. Our first visit was very good, with attentive service and flavorful food. Unfortunately, our second visit didn't match that experience. Service felt less attentive, the bread was initially cold, and our main dish lacked the flavor we remembered. I've had difficulty finding good pasta in the area and was hoping this would be my ticket, but ultimately it was not. Let me start by saying I ordered takeout and the meal smelled incredible. Which made it all the more disappointing when it didn't taste incredible. -Little gem caesar salad: I know it's a little gem salad but I felt like it could have come a bit more mixed as a takeout option. The croutons are just four large croutons, which as a takeout option doesn't really seem to make sense. And as someone who eats a far amount of caesar salad, this was one of the thinnest caesar dressings I've had and definitely prefer it to have a bit more substance. - Ricotta cavatelli: This leaked everywhere out of the packaging so I'm not sure if it would have been more flavorful with actual sauce but by the time we ate it, it was pretty dry. The cavatelli was nothing special but without sauce, the broccoli rabe was just so bitter. I also can't imagine this dish without the optional $4.99 sausage, which should just be included not as an upcharge. - Chicken vodka sauce rigatoni: This was fine. What a fantastic local find! Thanks to my Yelp buddy Chun M. For the suggestion. Hand made pasta and hospitality are what makes this place so great. Jenny my server during this lunch visit, was super friendly and welcoming. She sat me down at a table for four even though we were only a party of two (how did she know we were going to order so much that we needed the second table?!) LOL that's how we roll. Complimentary bread and dipping sauce along with a cold carafe of tap water magically appeared within minutes of being seated and menus galore. There was a drink menu, daily specials menu and the usual lunch menu. My friend and I decided to hit up a few categories to make sure we covered an array of things to try. That's how we try out new spots to test dishes and hit up an array of options. Everything was delicious! And everything was al dente. The hole-in-the-wall to rival all hole-in-the-walls: Fuzi is home to some of the freshest Italian cuisine in the city, and you'd never guess it by looking into the window. Forget the bells and whistles - the food paints a much greater picture than the grandest of restaurants. Before coming, a friend recommended we try the 11375 Mushrooms, and I'm going to invite them out for that recommendation alone. Fresh, flavorful mushrooms with whipped ricotta is the combo I never knew I needed. Main course (perfectly portioned by the way) was absolutely stellar. Big fan of the rigatoni alla vodka, but the star of the show was the spinach and Asiago ravioli. Anyone and everyone who's stuck in the loop of boxed rav must try this dish. I don't think I can ever eat ravioli anywhere else. Cooked al dente, accompanied by a rich, slightly sweet sauce, and a filling that was just so flavorful, creamy and umami ...and I got all that from having just one bite! Ash, our server, is the image you'll find next to the definition of "hospitality" in the dictionary. She offered incredible recommendations (the stracciatella gelato was an incredible way to end the meal), checked in on us frequently, and was an absolute joy to be around. Franco came out at the very end and offered us some of the best biscotti I've had in the city as a final touch. This is a guy who puts absolute love and care into every aspect of his business, and it shows! I will travel through rain, snow, and sleet for this place. I've been hearing all the hype around Fuzi, so was excited to give it a try. We opt'd for take out and ordered directly from their website. The posted menu has more options than what is actually available to order. I opt'd for the Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce and Grilled Chicken. The pasta was cooked well and it was a solid Vodka Sauce; the grilled chicken was a bit underwhelming and on the dry side. We ordered the Fuzi with Mushrooms, but actually received the version with the meat. Not a huge issue since we are not vegetarians but could have been a problem for others. This dish is their signature and I had some high expectations for it, I found it kind of meh. Not a ton of flavor and the slow cooked meat was quite chewy. Fuzi is located on what I call the forgotten shopping block of Fresh Meadow Lane - I always find it a bit quiet around here (There is a lot of cool stuff - Lucky Dog tattoos, Amitabha vegetarian spot, and laundromat where I watch people carrying laundry bags that are twice the size of themselves!), but perhaps Fuzi will turn that around because when I visited on a Saturday afternoon a steady stream of customers were coming in. The space is nicely set up with cushy benches around the space with white and red walls with photos of famous and cuteness slurping up twisted forkfuls of pasta - I like their style (Fuzi and the photos)! We sat by the window (I noticed a couple of bees on the inside of the window - they should have that checked). The server was friendly as she brough out our drinks - a local beer from Glendale's Finback for me and Arnold Palmer for my partner in crime along with a starter of Italian bread and fresh tomato sauce. I like this - it reminded me of going to family dinner and you dip some bread in the sauce pot. We ordered a special to start - figs and gorgonzola, it came drizzled with honey on a bed of arugula. Prosciutto toast was on garlicky toasted bread. We were asked if we wanted to add burrata, but didn't see the point since it already has gorgonzola. Incidentally I heard a microwave door and beeps right before this came out which turned me off a bit, but regardless this dish was delicious - the figs sweet, warm and ripe contrasted with the funky gorgonzola. The prosciutto toast was full flavored. I really enjoyed Ricotta Cavatelli v / broccoli rabe, hazelnut "pangrattatto". I usually see this combo with orecchiette ("little ears"), but the cavatelli were great, like "big ears" made al dente. The sausage was the sweet Italian kind and I could taste the fennel. The hazelnut pangrattato added a nice crunchy texture to the dish. I tried the "simple" spaghetti with pesto and thought it was really good - creamy with the brightness of the basil. For dessert, Pizzelle "chips n dip" pistachio cannoli cream was a generous scoop enough for two to share which made for a satisfying end. Overall I really enjoyed it here - it feels like a cozy neighborhood spot with reasonable prices for the quality food being served. I thought the service was friendly and attentive so I left a generous cash tip - I was a little disappointed to see the exact amount I left added to my credit card posting amount (check your statements!). I emailed and Fuzi sincerely apologized reversing the charge immediately - I chalk it up to an inadvertent error. Regardless of the minor issues I will be back to sample more of their delicious pastas! read more

It had a good balance of ingredients except only 1 slice of prosciutto... Didn't feel like that added much to the dish. The "Simple" Pasta - Spaghetti with Pesto. It's a creamier pesto, which I like it as it coats the pasta thoroughly. It has a wonderfully strong basil flavor. The pasta was al dente and went with the pesto. You can add red pepper flakes and/or grated cheese to the your pasta. The cheese didn't add much, if anything at all. The Pizzelle 'Chips'N'Dip' was good ending. A lot of cream to scoop up with the crisp cannoli shells. Not too sweet, with the added dark chocolate chunks to give more texture.
