    Pizza manna from heaven

My brother said, "we're getting pizza at Spolinis. They don't deliver. You're picking it up. Ordered a large pizza with Pepper & Sausage. It was Pizza Nirvana. Like I remember as a kid, going to family pizza restaurants in Queens and western Nassau county. That's pizza. Nice clean place with a little bar and tables out in front. The staff are fun to talk to while waiting for my reward. It came. I had to walk 10 minutes with a cane, smelling that incredible sausage grease perfuming my immediate space. I could picture it based on the wonderful Italian spices. I knew the crust was perfection. I could feel it cc through the bottom of he box as I got back to my brothers place. I got to the kitchen and immediately served the first slices to my brother & I. Coupled with an icy cold Beck's beer. I was in pizza paradise. You have to go to Spolini's cause they ain't comin to you. It's worth it. I'm gonna bet heavy that their Italian dishes are insane. I'm here all weekend. I might have update.

Enjoyed dinner at Spolini's. We started with adult beverages. We ordered a small pizza pie for the little one. She loved it. Ordered the beet salad and the Caesar salad. Both very fresh and tasted great. Our entree's began with eggplant rollatini , paccheri alla Norma, Bronzino and the Veal Marsala. All fishes were great. Our waiter was very personal able, great attitude and very experienced. He loved the little one. The ambience has changed over the years. Now a very quaint small great restaurant one must try. Let's not forget the tortufo Italian ice cream. Very good. As of today, we now have four generations that eaten at Spolini's.

What a great dining experience at Spolini's. My guy and I really enjoyed it. We got the Margherita pie, tuna tartare and grilled octopus for the appetizers and then the fresh pappardelle pasta with braciole, sausage and meatball for entree. Everything was fine to perfection. The staff is amazing. I can't believe i've never been here before. i'm definitely going to be back!

Consistently good service, wide selections, and big portions. Outdoor patio seating and a party room as options.

Oh my goodness! What can I say!!! We had an amazing experience. The food was great. The service was superb. Me and hubby will definitely come back. I had the Sea-bass and hubby had the penne alla romano. Lastly, I'm not a big tiramisu fan but my God that had to be tiramisu I've ever had. Update: the food was so great that I decided to order from Uber Eats. Again the food was amazing. I added a star to the review and I added pictures from our Valentine's Day dinner.

The food here is good.... took a while to actually receive the food but overall pretty good ( the mussels are so good). Only con is that the waiters should be more attentive.

The only bad thing about the restaurant is the bad influence the waiters are They suggest you to keep going ordering more and more and EVERYTHING YOU EAT IS UTTERLY AMAZING!!! The food, the place, the music; YOU FEEL IN ITALY! Highly recommended! THEIR CRÉME BRÛLÉE IS YUMMY

The whole setup just depresses the hell out of me, honestly. They've got these fancy looking square pizzas that look like they're gonna get framed and displyed at the Museum of Modern Food like some kind of art or something. I've eaten the one that is loaded with folds of prosciutto and cheese, is it the Angel and the Devil? I think it is and the other one ive scarfed down is covered in pepperoni and melted cheese, its more traditional in the basic ingredients I prefer from the circle pies. The two I've eaten were quite good. I mean, you cant walk right in and order a slice to go even if you're starving, you must order the whole kahuna. But some people act like getting pizza in this place like this makes them bloody sophisticated, but were all under the same glistening lights above. The guy to my left had some kind of tagliatelle with meat sauce and grated cheese, it was sitting in a patterned bowl which i kept looking back at and admiring. I liked the way it looked upon the wooden table below. You order off these sleek paper menus laid out for you, its the main menu and there is a separate Drinks Menu with cocktails, and a wine list and beers. It's a lot of work for me, you know. making me read through a whole booklet just to decide what kind of booze that I want to drink with my meal, I can be occasionally lazy regardingsuch matters. Inside, the dining room is all warm lighting and exposed wood, with people sitting at tables reading their menus, eatingvand drinking and trying to have a grand, important evening out. Look, the food tastes fine, pizza and pasta are hard to mess up, but it's not the life changing culinary event that Metropolitan has needed for quite some time.

Both items came out together like we asked and was far too much food for two. My first bite of the pizza was hot, crunchy, and delicious. I love fresh oven pizzas with a crispy bottom crust. The chefs did an amazing job cooking it just right. I also loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. It really elevated the pizza to another level. The crust was great all around with a slight oven char. Lastly the calzone took me by surprise as it had no sauce and was filled with ricotta cheese as opposed to mozzarella. It came with a small cup of hot marinara sauce for dipping/pouring. It was definitely an interesting calzone but don't think it was worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and Nick's and would highly recommend it. I do wish the pricing was a bit more fair when it came to full vs half pie toppings as well as the calzone.

My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years.

While that may rank as a relatively mid-tier title by NYC standards, as the neighborhood restaurant average is sadly and shockingly low, especially considering its location in the literally center Queens, this is nonetheless a very special neighborhood treasure, befitting it's stalwart status at now over 30 years of age. Classic Italian American with some New American flourishes, the place stays consistent and honors its tradition while simultaneously managing to keep things fresh and staying up with the times. The pizzas are well-executed and make great use of the gorgeous wood burning oven, but for me it's almost impossible to order anything else but my go-to order, one of the house specialties the classic Cavatelli with broccoli raab and some particularly pungent hot Italian sausage. A modern day classic in the cannon, finding decent versions around the city is tougher than one might imagine, particularly in my experiences in this borough. The version here, served like the rest of the offerings in an extremely generous portion that usually yields some delicious leftovers to take home, is a strong contender for the best in the borough title. Also of particular note is the exemplary super-thin and savory chicken parm, served in the previous era in various forms including with spaghetti and broccoli, as well as with risotto, currently served smothered with a spicy vodka sauce and paired with rigatoni. I've only recently became aquatinted with the rich and unctuous dry-aged burger, served simply and unadorned save for American and sharp raw union, on a classic and proper sesame seed bun, it's a stealth under-the radar competitor for the best burger in the hood nod with previous title-holder Dirty-Pierres. The expansive, two-room space, an ideal setting for the many private events and family gatherings that regularly occur here is aptly bright and inviting with the aforementioned pizza oven serving as its centerpiece. I generally sit at the bar which offers ample opportunity to converse with the top-notch staff, just as genial and affable as you would hope to find in such a longtime neighborhood institution, as well as the fellow patrons, who are, more often then not, you guessed it, longtime local resident regulars.
