I order out from Barosa all the time so I know the food is amazing, but when at the restaurant it's all that much better! There is an old school Italian feeling in the restaurant and helps give that authenticity to it. The service is amazing even when the place is packed! The barosa salad is amazing and the meatballs taste like my dad's- they're great! The pasta e fagiole was delicious and perfect for cold weather. The pesto pasta was a special off the menu item and was so good I've dreamt about it since! I also think our other pasta may be a restaurant only item because it's on their menu there but not on the website. It was to die for and had sausage crumbles! The dessert was great and all around a great time finally coming in. I will be back for more!

Before my party even arrived, while I was waiting at the bar earlier in the night, I ordered a $10 drink and left a $2 tip. That tip was later changed to $5. This was a single drink, paid separately, and the tip was altered after the fact. During the dinner itself, I fully expected a mandatory gratuity for a large group. That is standard. What I did not expect was an additional "operating fee" added on top, with no clear disclosure upfront, and still applied even when paying cash. That is a hidden surcharge, plain and simple. Changing a tip and adding undisclosed fees crosses a line. This is not about generosity or misunderstanding. It is about trust. Check your receipts carefully if you dine here.

My wife and I have been dining here for over 20 years, yet we had no idea they had a downstairs party room. We found out when we attended a wedding. It fits about 60 people, and it was a surprisingly nice experience. The service was so good; no glass remained empty. Very professional and friendly. And the food was just delicious. It was a terrific time.

Best spot for local Italian. Been going to Barosa for years and the quality is always prime. They always have good specials and the service is always good. In all my years going I never had a bad experience.. Ordered the veal polenta with spaghetti carbonara. So good. Apps of calamari and baked clams were delicious. No matter what you order in this place your Italian food fantasies will come true. Entrees also ordered were chicken sorrentino veal marsala, chicken parm, and the maple pork chop special. The place was packed. Everyone left with full bellies enjoying the experience. Barosa is where it's at.

I heard this place was suppose to be good! I have never eaten here and tried it for the first time because I moved into the neighborhood. Ordered 2 slices to go. When I got home the pizza was already cold. Mind you I live across the street. It also tasted like old pizza. The crust was super chewy. Did not finish it at all. It's a shame because I heard good things. I don't know if I'll be back here again. If I do it will not be too soon.

Fantastic. I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants in NY and LA. The quality and atmosphere at Barosa tops them all. Food was prepared to perfection. My friend, who is Italian from Chicago, says it's the best he has ever had. I couldn't agree more. The ambiance & music set the mood for an incredible night of fine dining. Close to Citifield. If you are ever at a game, come before or leave the game early. Don't miss out.

Meh. Nothing to write home about in my opinion, but I'd give Barosa between a 3 and 3.5 - probably closer to a 3.5. We were a group of seven people and ordered fried calamari, meatballs, chicken franches, shrimp scampi, chicken piccata and a few of the specials. My dish was the shrimp scampi - it had flavor but there was nothing making it a memorable meal. For dessert, we ordered a tartufo and tiramisu along with a few coffee's and cappuccino's. The cappuccino was tastier than I expected it to be. Prices were rather fair, presentation was basic, service was fine, the atmosphere was average and the food was okay. So you see, there wasn't anything bad about the meal, just no single wow factor and that's okay. There are a lot of restaurants throughout the boroughs giving Barosa a cozy spot in the dime a dozen category.

I have been hearing really good things about Barosa so decided to give it a try myself and was pleased with what I ordered. I had the eggplant rollatini and the seafood avocado appetizers and enjoyed both, but the seafood avocado was unique and definitely the star of my order. An avocado on top of mixed greens topped with chopped lobster and shrimp with mayonnaise and a balsamic glaze is not something I have ever seen on a menu at an Italian restaurant, but I am so glad it was because it was delicious. The eggplant rollatini was also enjoyable because the eggplant was sliced thinly and had the perfect ratio of ricotta and mozzarella but the only thing I would have preferred was for the tomato sauce to be just a tad sweeter because it was a bit tart/acidy for my personal liking. I definitely will be ordering more and look forward to having the seafood avocado again.

Went for date night on a Tuesday evening. It was busy but we were seated right away. Staff was nice. Our waiter helped us make decisions based on what we were looking for. We ordered the egg roll(not pictured) and the grandmas meatball for appetizers. The appetizers honestly were disappointing. We couldn't even finish the egg roll and the meatballs while edible, were bland. However, the main entrees were the real deal! We ordered two glasses of wine and got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the chicken parm with vodka sauce. The chicken parm vodka is not on the menu but you can ask them to make it and highly recommended! The atmosphere was pleasant as there was a singer in the middle while we were eating. Overall great experience Plenty of parking but muni-meter

We got in line around 7:30 pm on a Sunday and waited about an hour to order our food and another 20 minutes or so to be seated. You pick all the seafood you want first and how you want it prepared. Once you're seated, you get another menu with appetizers and other cooked dishes. Your seafood gets brought out along with any other dishes you ordered. Everything we got was really good and cooked to perfection. It was such a unique experience as well. There's a reason why the wait for this place is so long and I would recommend anyone to come give it a try!

I noticed some of the items on the display were frozen (red head shrimp) was one of the items. While they do not weight the seafood in front of you. The list the prices up front, so that was somewhat awkward process?? I ask for octopus, scallops, smelts, and a red snapper . The octopus was the most expensive item, it was marked $45 a pound.. We were then sent to 2nd floor for seating. Since we needed a table for 2, we got a very small table near the stairs. The table was so small, we knew right away that it be an issue given the amount of food we ordered. Our waitress came by and we added grilled eggplant, lemon potatoes and the beat salad. The brought us a small basket of pita like bread, hot, fluffy and delicious. So we had all the appetizers but the food took 30 mins and from the looks, it dis not seemed busy. In my opinion, the side dishes should be brought out with main courses but i guess thats NOT what they do here. I recalled asking at the counter for light seasoning on the red snapper. When the fish came to the table, it had some type of breadcrumbs and oil or butter. Which in my opinion is not bad but i appreciate the unique texture and flavor red snapper has all on its own. The octopus was good but i never had it sliced looking like bacon strips. Tasty but different, scallops had a little paprika, cooled perfectly. The smelts were fried just perfectly, like good french fries. I assume this restaurant is a mix of middle-Mediterranean cooking style. Food was tasty, style of service was definitely different. I will come back and try the lunch specials during the week. As a side note, accessing the restrooms was very confusing, they have 2 restrooms, there was a line to get into the restrooms. Very clean bathrooms for sure.

A very helpful woman behind the counter guided us through the seafood selections and clearly explained the different preparation options. The food absolutely delivered. The grilled calamari (their style) was excellent, and the octopus was perfectly cooked, so much so that my picky toddler ended up eating almost half of it. I've never had Algerian-style seafood and was excited to try out Le Petit Pêcheur. We were a party of 6 and made a reservation that same day which was great! We arrived and got seated but weren't explained the process. First, you go up to the fish counter and order the fish you want, the amount you want, and the style you want it cooked (grilled, fried, or sautéed). They've done a great job with the display and I liked seeing the various options in front of me. The worker who helped us was super friendly and took the time to explain what each fish was. I also appreciate that their pricing is transparent (posted on their website). So why 3 stars? Once we finally ordered, we went back to our seats and ordered appetizers, sides, and drinks with our waiter. It took almost 40 minutes to receive the Greek Salad and Virgin Mojito we ordered. We had already received our Fried Calamari before that. Similarly, we got all the fish before the French Fries & Rice Vegetable Medley came out. It was frustrating and took away from the experience the fact that we didn't have the sides to eat with the fish at the time the fish came out. We literally had finished everything when the waiter came out with Lemon Potatoes which we had to send back considering it took too long to get them. It's a shame considering all the food we had was actually delicious. The Fried Calamari was crispy, tender, and not chewy at all, the Grilled Spanish Branzino was buttery, light, and delicious, and the Tiger Shrimp was grilled beautifully and the lemon olive oil mix just enhanced it even more. Even the Marinated Sardines were some of the best I've had. The fish was fresh, grilled/fried properly, and we truly didn't have a bad bite here. Prices are also more than reasonable. There's a clear lack of communication by the staff since two people within our group had provided their credit card to pay and they charged both. It's a shame we couldn't enjoy it as much as I hoped because of the operational issues. Hope they improve with time but until then, I won't be back.
