Everything here was great! We came here for my sisters graduation, and I think one of the highlights of this place (aside from the food) is definitely the service. The staff is wonderful. Our server was Juan and he was so sweet, and the service was fast. Pastas were all good, but the ravioli filling is not my personal favorite. The eggplant rollatini is a must and for dessert the tres leches was insane. I also loved the lychee mojito. They also give complimentary bread in the beginning and this restaurant has the best complimentary bread that I've had. Definitely recommend stopping by! read more

First time eating in the restaurant. We were seated within 5 minutes. Tables were clean and neatly arranged. Server and waiter were both very nice and polite. The bread was fresh and warm, the fried calamari were so tender and the dipping sauce was absolutely delicious!! Good food, and excellent service. Our meal here was such a standout experience, I'm already planning my return. We began with the Personal Margherita Pie, which was flawlessly balanced. The harmony of crust, sauce, and cheese was just right. For our main courses, we ventured into the evening's specials: a deeply flavorful lamb bolognese and a rich shrimp and scallop risotto. Both were exceptional. I truly hope these dishes become permanent fixtures on the menu, because every bite was memorable. Our server's warmth and attention elevated the evening, and we noticed the welcoming atmosphere extended to the other guests as well. It's clear they care about their service. I order out from Barosa all the time so I know the food is amazing, but when at the restaurant it's all that much better! There is an old school Italian feeling in the restaurant and helps give that authenticity to it. The service is amazing even when the place is packed! The barosa salad is amazing and the meatballs taste like my dad's- they're great! The pasta e fagiole was delicious and perfect for cold weather. The pesto pasta was a special off the menu item and was so good I've dreamt about it since! I also think our other pasta may be a restaurant only item because it's on their menu there but not on the website. It was to die for and had sausage crumbles! Before my party even arrived, while I was waiting at the bar earlier in the night, I ordered a $10 drink and left a $2 tip. That tip was later changed to $5. This was a single drink, paid separately, and the tip was altered after the fact. During the dinner itself, I fully expected a mandatory gratuity for a large group. That is standard. What I did not expect was an additional "operating fee" added on top, with no clear disclosure upfront, and still applied even when paying cash. That is a hidden surcharge, plain and simple. Meh. Nothing to write home about in my opinion, but I'd give Barosa between a 3 and 3.5 - probably closer to a 3.5. We were a group of seven people and ordered fried calamari, meatballs, chicken franches, shrimp scampi, chicken piccata and a few of the specials. My dish was the shrimp scampi - it had flavor but there was nothing making it a memorable meal. For dessert, we ordered a tartufo and tiramisu along with a few coffee's and cappuccino's. The cappuccino was tastier than I expected it to be. Prices were rather fair, presentation was basic, service was fine, the atmosphere was average and the food was okay. So you see, there wasn't anything bad about the meal, just no single wow factor and that's okay. I have been hearing really good things about Barosa so decided to give it a try myself and was pleased with what I ordered. I had the eggplant rollatini and the seafood avocado appetizers and enjoyed both, but the seafood avocado was unique and definitely the star of my order. An avocado on top of mixed greens topped with chopped lobster and shrimp with mayonnaise and a balsamic glaze is not something I have ever seen on a menu at an Italian restaurant, but I am so glad it was because it was delicious. The eggplant rollatini was also enjoyable because the eggplant was sliced thinly and had the perfect ratio of ricotta and mozzarella but the only thing I would have preferred was for the tomato sauce to be just a tad sweeter because it was a bit tart/acidy for my personal liking. Went for date night on a Tuesday evening. It was busy but we were seated right away. Staff was nice. Our waiter helped us make decisions based on what we were looking for. We ordered the egg roll(not pictured) and the grandmas meatball for appetizers. The appetizers honestly were disappointing. We couldn't even finish the egg roll and the meatballs while edible, were bland. However, the main entrees were the real deal! We ordered two glasses of wine and got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the chicken parm with vodka sauce. I forgot to take a lot of photos. All I got was the entree. I came here with a group of 30 people for a late lunch for a gathering. We were served a lot of courses, and had all of the following: salad, fried calamari, dinner rolls, pizza, an entree of our choosing (fish, chichi parm, another chicken option, and a veggie option), and dessert. The service stalled between the appetizers and the entree, but that was okay n'existe it gave us more time to socialize and hangout. We arrived at 3pm ended up staying until 7pm. The staff did a wonderful job of staying on top of things, and keeping us updated with everything that was happening. The food was good, the service was great, and the company was delightful. Review: I've never been treated so disrespectfully at a restaurant. We were served dinner late, but we were grateful to still get a meal. However, as we walked toward the bar--where other patrons were still sitting--the bartender shouted at us to "pay our f*ing bill" in front of everyone. I have been meaning to go to this spot for forever and was happy I finally made it. The ambiance is wonderful and the vibes are great. We were seated along the windows on a sunny day, which made the experience even better. The prices were what you would expect of a traditional Italian restaurant and there were a few dishes that stood out. I had the Fried Calamari ($15) as well as the Calamari Arrabiata ($16) and Calamari Barosa ($16). Of the three types, my favorite was the Fried Calamari, which was crunchy and had a good tempura batter. The Calamri Arrabiata was decent and I liked the sauce. The Calamari Barosa was my least favorite as I didn't like the fishy taste and couldn't get into the dish. For entrées, we had the Chicken Marsala ($26) and Chicken Francese ($26). Both dishes were delicious, with my favorite being the Francese as I loved the lemon zest more than the mushroom taste of the Marsala. Both dishes were well made and the chicken was juicy and tender and packed with flavor. We opted for the Amaretto Nut Truffle (8.o5) for dessert, which was presented to us beautifully. It was a yummy dessert and wasn't too sweet. I enjoyed it. Overall, this is a great spot and perfect for a family event, date night, or casual dining. The food is a five star. The ambience is lovely. Street parking is fine. Not having a reservation is fine. They have tables. Friday and Saturday nights are busiest, however. The service is a three star at best, two more likely. In the past the service has been excellent. Tonight it was an absolute joke. There were six tables taken in the restaurant. And no one was paying attention. No water refilled. No bread brought. We ordered drinks. They didn't come. Dinner came too quickly on top of the appetizer. Again no water. It was as if we were forgotten. The cappuccino was white. In a clear glass. I don't think they even bothered to put coffee in it. We had to re-order it. The question is why was it brought to our table in the first place? the zabaglione was weak. I think it was the worst we've ever had there. Thin with Little marsala. The strawberries were fine. I really have no idea what went on there tonight. It was my husband's birthday and we were disappointed. read more

I went on a foggy Friday evening - my bf & I were seated right away. They don't take reservations online so I was glad to see there was space. Weather report said it'd be severe rain so I think that's why there was decent amount of space. The place is much bigger than I imagined. It was our first time and I was concerned about the negative reviews, but I've ordered their pizza for delivery before and enjoyed it so I wanted to try it fresh! We got bread & water right away. Bread 3/5 - glad their butter was soft, spreadable and not ice cold like some places. They had so many specials off the menu! Specials for every category of food. No printed specials menu though, so you may need to ask the server to repeat a few things. Our server memorized all the specials for that day, I thought that was cool. Printed specials would be even cooler! Service 5/5. Grilled octopus on couscous (a special) 4.5/5 - it was so delicious and charred (slightly too charred). The sweet/tangy couscous was a good balance to the charred octopus. From the regular menu - we got a margherita pizza with pepperoni and their spicy fried calamari. Our 3 items was more than enough to feed the 2 of us. Pizza 4/5 - I enjoyed the thin crust brick oven pizza. I do wish there was more basil and think it could've been crispier. Not the very best I've ever had and didn't stand out to me but it was yummy and we took a few slices home. It reheats very well in the air fryer and we enjoyed our midnight snack. Minor complaint: I wish the wheel/table thing for the pizza was sturdier - it was all wobbly and I'm prone to dropping things. (I've dropped an entire pie in a different restaurant before so I was worried about dropping it here too.) Spicy Fried Calamari 4/5 - great seasoning and good texture! I think the texture of the regular fried calamari will probably be nicer since the spicy one is cooked with sauce. Will get again though. Drinks 5/5 - I got a Moscow mule (Barosa mule) and my bf got a glass of red wine. Both lovely! The staff was also very attentive regarding water refills. Food envy - I saw a table get mussels and I didn't know it would come in a bread bowl!! Not just bread on the side. It looked appetizing and I may try it on our next visit. I like making mussels at home because they're only $3 from the market and usually try to avoid ordering mussels (but cooking at home is always going to be cheaper, duh). Ambiance 3/5 - standard Italian restaurant vibes. They have a exposed wine rack wall, a plus for aesthetics. It was so chilly sitting under the AC. I hated our wobbly table, can't stand wobbly tables. Had a nice view of the street parking outside lol. Bathroom was nice and clean - so important! I would love to go back and try some more from their menu and hope they will have some fun specials. Staff was so nice and I hope we get a positive experience again for our second visit. Overall a 5/5 because I enjoyed the food & experience. Trying to tip their review average a little higher because they're a local restaurant in my neighborhood and I have no major complaints.
