I was so hopeful for this neighborhood mainstay, and it was packed when we went in March 2026. The food was... adequate, nothing exceptional, so much so I can't remember what I actually ordered. One person in my party ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was huge, but reported to be 'ok'. My son finished his fettuccine in white sauce with bacon and reported it 'good'. I don't always explore the restaurants near my neighborhood (like the restaurants within a five block radius). It's not that I don't want to, but a lot of it feels like it caters more to certain demographics and I hesitate to go inside and feel out of place. However, me and my friend were walking past this restaurant and decided to check it out. There was hardly anyone there that day. It was pretty empty for a weekday evening. I decided to try branzino, a fish I would never attempt to make at home and would rather leave it to the chefs to handle with. I really enjoyed the fish. I felt that the oil/sauce really helped elevate the taste and prevented it from tasting dry or too fishy. I also tried the Arancini's , which are really good too! It reminded me of the ones I had in Rome. The place is very spacious, clean, and has a very date night feel. I would come back here again. read more

Went here for a birthday party. The service was great! The waitress we had was very attentive and the venue was very well lit and looked fancy! The food was was where they fell short. It was pretty pricey for Jackson Heights and was definitely not worth the price. My sister had rigatoni alla vodka with chicken for $26 and it was a pretty small portion and incredibly salty that she barely ate any of it and completely lost her appetite. I had the sirloin steak. It was very bland and not well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were good though, but for $50, expected more....either another side or at least a better cut. Sirloin is definitely not worth $50. For dinner for 9 people, the bill came out to almost $800 (we didn't order any drinks or appetizers or dessert). Too pricey and the food does not make it worth it to go back. read more

I was looking for a restaurant to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. I checked Yelp and Uncle Peter's was on the list. It looked like there was something for everyone and the price was reasonable enough. They were able to accommodate adding 4 more guests to my party of 10 to my huge relief. The staff was welcoming. All of us were in agreement that the bread with olive oil was chef's kiss awesome. We ordered bruschetta and that was gone in no time too . It felt like we were eating in my auntie's home. Ate here today after work as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q. I had definitely ordered and ate the seafood salad as an appetizer, then sirloin steak as an entree and tiramisu for dessert that it had definitely tasted really good and delicious. Tried Uncle Peter's on a Friday night at 8:30- 9pm , it was packed inside , even the bar. Beautiful & clean ambience. We were seated in about 10 mins, they close at 11 so our time was limited. The mango sangria is amazing, unfortunately my penne alla vodka wasn't good at all, the kitchen was closed by then, so they couldn't make me anything else, thank God for the complimentary bread. My friend loved his lasagna. They took the pasta off my bill & offered me cake, which I declined. I still tipped well despite the situation. Me and my girlfriend got Uncle Peter's for dinner the other night, and I have to say, I'm impressed. Sometimes Italian food, boxed up to-go, isn't always great when you get home to eat it, but that's not the case here. Uncle Peter's has some really great pasta options, and some stuff that are a little outside the basics you might normally see at an Italian restaurant. My favorite was the braised beef pasta. This place should be called San Pedro's or Cafe Milano or something bc it transports me back to Italy with the scrumptious entrees and France with the insane desserts. It is in a neighborhood with mediocre restaurants and you step into this place and it is fine dining. Even the water bottle is gorgeous. First they brought out the bread and butter at any restaurant which I usually skip, bc gluten, but man I am glad I ate 2 pcs. Not sure what was in the butter, but yum. And the server was kind, helped me to make a decision and it wasn't even on the menu, it was Chicken Marsala. Def try it! The 3 other people that I was with had: porkchops (2 of them chose this) and it was an enormous piece of meat and from what they said, wonderfully seasoned and very tender. The 3rd person got this massive chicken cutlet (plate sized almost) with salad on top and fried artichokes on the side. I cannot remember the name of that dish. I typically do not get dessert, but only ate half of my food so I got the sorbet trio. Wow, it was so so good and the scoops were served in a big wine glass and they were coming out of the top of the glass. I could not finish it. 2 of the people at our table shared the lava cake and it is pretty small, so if you share it you should probably be with your S.O. It looked amazing though and they loved it. This restaurant could easily be in Manhattan and compete with any high end restaurant there. The reason we ended up here is bc I was looking for a good restaurant in the neighborhood where I was visiting family. Do not let the location around it fool you. This is a perfect date night spot. Though we ate here at 130 on a Saturday and had the place to ourselves for about an hour which was nice too because we got to talk. Around 330 it started filling up with larger tables of people when we left. The food is 30 and up for entrees but the food is fab and the portions are huge. Starters are around 20 dollars and are pretty good. Calamari was met. Charcuterie was fab. Another shout out to the server. He was very professional, did not hover, was quick and we never had a time where we needed something. We tipped him 56 but prob should have tipped him 60! Go to this restaurant! Me and my wife would go to uncle peters for two dishes . And now I don't like going there any more cause they ruined them. The dish I loved is the pasta with vodka sauce and chicken but now you see barely any chicken anymore. The dish my wife loved was the the vaalenciano risotto. She was upset because they switched it for some seafood risotto. The seafood risotto was salty and and bland with some piece of lobster. She did not like it too much. I don't understand why they do these changes. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Anyway we miss the risotto and it was a wonderful dish. It was probally there best dish. I really hope they bring it back because she was not happy and also it cost more than the dish they removed. read more

I've been going to Uncle Peter's for years--both personally and professionally. It's been a go-to spot for everything from casual dinners with family to business lunches and client meetings. I've also recommended it often. Sadly, a recent experience has caused me to rethink that entirely. After a dinner with colleagues, I accidentally left behind a green jacket. I realized the next morning and immediately called. A staff member confirmed they had it and kindly said I could pick it up anytime after my trip. I even called twice more just to confirm. When I returned a week later, the jacket was nowhere to be found. I was told the staff member I spoke with was on vacation and that no one else could locate the item. I returned again a few days later, only to be told a completely different story--that they are "not responsible for items left behind" and that the jacket had likely been discarded. Worse still, the manager I spoke to was dismissive and accusatory, claiming no staff member would've told me otherwise and implying I was being dishonest. It wasn't just the loss of the jacket--which had sentimental and material value--but the way the situation was handled: with inconsistency, rudeness, and zero accountability. I've always believed service is measured most in how mistakes are handled, and this experience failed on every front. There's nothing more I can do at this point, aside from sharing my experience here--because the treatment I received deserves to be known. read more

Italian places are hard to find in Jackson Heights/Northern Blvd so this place is a gem. I went on a Thursday night with my husband and it was packed! I tried the goat cheese fritters that come with honey, it was different from the typical appetizers I get and very yummy. I also got the gnocchi with pesto and it has sun dried tomatoes. The plate looks small but it is very filling. The waiter accidentally delivered the wrong plate to my husband and the manager/owner apologized. She offered us free dessert to make it up with us. This place never fails! You better believe you can expect great service and amazing food! The food is always fresh, full of flavor and the drinks are strong too. It's not a huge space but I love it all the more for that. It has the old vintage rustic charming decor, though some elements can mirror modern. Our waiter on this particular day really made the experience, she had humor yet was polite, attentive and informative for recommendations. I would recommend checking for availability on the weekends but during the week it seems pretty feasible to walk in. I had the Salmon entree, salmon was cooked just like I asked and the veggies were roasted to perfection. Soft but not too soft with an edge of charredness (made that up haha) my father hailed the Chicken Francese as spectacular and my mother enjoyed her branzino- needless to say their plates were squeaky clean. The beef wagyu was scrumptious but heavy portioned; ideal for two to share. Their crème brûlée really hit the mark as did the or chocolate lava cake. The lava truly erupted with warm goodness. I walked into Uncle Peter's and this unassuming Italian restaurant took me by surprise. Inside you'll find trendy decor, good music at a perfect volume to have a conversation, and good-looking friendly staff. Our party of 3 was quickly seated. The restaurant had about 6 tables occupied and the rest were opened. The menu was pretty extensive and inventive. We each ordered cocktails and began to peruse the menu. The next time the server came over we wanted to place the appetizer order for the table but we weren't sure what we wanted for our entrees yet. The waiter responded that he can only take our appetizer and main course orders at the same time . There were 6 other tables eating, not bustling by any means. I have eaten out thousands of times and I have never heard of this. The next time he returned, we place our order: Appetizer: - Grilled peaches with prosciutto and burrata (to share). - Grilled octopus with grilled mango with General Tso's sauce (to share) Main course: - Chicken Milanese with fried artichokes, baby arugula, heirloom cherry tomatoes, shaved manchego, with a balsamic glaze (my order) - Pasta Primavera (my companion's order) - chicken from the specials menu (my companion's order) The grilled peach appetizer was from the special menu. I give this dish a 2-star rating. The peaches served in this dish were rock hard. The rest of the dish and flavors melded well together, but we couldn't get past those peaches. Someone in the kitchen chose to put those rocks, whoops, I mean peaches on the plate. I give the octopus 3.5 stars. The octopus was super tender and the mango was ripe (unlike the peaches) and was a bright flavor complement to this dish. There was no flavor of "General Tao's" sauce in this dish, otherwise, it would have been a five stars dish. I give the chicken Milanese 5 stars! This was a large piece of chicken delicately fried to a perfect crisp. With a mound of perfectly dressed arugula salad. The fried artichokes are a lovely little treat in this dish. My friend and I split the chicken Milanese and the pasta primavera, from the special menu. I give this pasta primavera 1 star. The pasta in this dish was an unappealing, flavorless pasta dish swimming in oil. The vegetables in this dish were overcooked and just boring. Whatever you do, skip this dish! I think Uncle Peter's has potential despite some items falling flat. I look forward to a revisit and hopefully an updated review! read more

It was my birthday and nature wanted to remind me of how easily and randomly I could die! The temperature hovered below 30 degrees, while the wind blew from the north as fiercely as rockets sent to end a village and a war! Yet my wife and I took to the threatening streets with the only goal that could keep us alive...a delicious lunch meal at Uncle Peter's. Boy, they did not disappoint. The bread they bake and give customers provided a quick and satisfying intro for the wonders to come. We leaped into the Calamari and grilled Octopus appetizers. Wow! This was our second time dining in here, and we've also gotten takeout at Uncle Peter's. I haven't written a review yet because I never know where to begin! This place is fantastic. Whether you're here for a date night, drinks, time with family or a friend hangout, Uncle Peter's is a great spot. It's a nice, cozy and classy restaurant that's a nice choice for special occasions, but I've also shown up wearing sweatpants and the staff are still welcoming and don't care what you're wearing. First, the bruschetta. My partner doesn't normally like whole/raw tomatoes but really enjoys this dish. Tangy and slightly sour from the tomato, sweet from the balsamic glaze, creamy from the cheese, and with a good crunch from the bread. So many flavors at once, and so delicious. This was gone within a few minutes of being brought to the table. Caesar salad: covered in dressing and cheese which in my opinion is the way salad should be (but I'm sure you could ask for less if you wanted to). Everything was extremely fresh, lettuce was crunchy, cheese felt like the right level of sharp and went well with the creamy/saltiness of the dressing. Penne vodka: my favorite vodka pasta I've gotten anywhere in NYC. Uncle Peter's has ruined me because now I'm just going about my day and I crave this pasta. I should really try other things on their menu but I know it will taste good so why would I not pick something I know for a fact will be delicious? I like my vodka sauce on the creamier/cheesier side with just a hint of sweetness and this pasta does not disappoint. Pasta was cooked al dente (I think?) and absorbed the sauce well, like when you bite into a piece and a little bonus sauce comes out from the center. And very importantly, the portions are generous enough for leftovers. Bread: we have no shame and asked for refills of the bread three times, which our servers graciously obliged. It comes with two types, a more traditional plain/crusted bread and something that might be focaccia but is seasoned well, maybe with thyme and rosemary type stuff? Both types are great for dipping into your pasta, but also taste delicious by themselves with the butter which is mixed with seasoning that bursts with flavor.  Drinks: aperol spritz was very tasty and did not taste overwhelmingly of liquor which I appreciate, and was a generous portion. Last time I got a mocktail, I don't recall the exact name but I think it had passion fruit. Definitely check out their mocktail menu if you're on the search for well crafted, alcohol free drinks and want to feel a little fancy. I don't normally splurge on drinks unless I'm getting a cocktail but this was worth it. They also gave us free coquitos at the end of our meal! This was a very pleasant surprise (or maybe not a surprise because they always have great customer service), had a smooth and coconut-y flavor that makes you feel just a little bit warm in the chest after drinking. As for the staff, they are always very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Even while the food was still being made, multiple staff members made a point to check on us while we were waiting to see if we needed anything, let us have multiple baskets of bread, and added more pineapple juice to my partner's drink when she realized that bourbon-based drinks weren't for her (nothing wrong with how the drink was made, she just realized she didn't like bourbon). And they gave us the complimentary coquitos. Uncle Peter's is great!
