We dined here on 12/31/25, our 2nd NYE dinner with the MTM family. Our reservation was made for 9:00P, same as the year prior, knowing it was likely one of the business evenings (if not the most) of the year for them. We had a wait of about 20-25 min, but we expected a short wait and we were all good. One the staff (really sweet blonde woman) was great about acknowledging us and keeping us updated about our seating time, and I bet other diners may have not been as patient, but we were all good and appreciative of her pleasantness. We were seated by the owner I believe, who was also kind, and since we knew our order (same as last year), we promptly provided our order to our server staff, the porterhouse for two, mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus. Once we ordered, we enjoyed a cherry blossom martini and Texas mule while we waited and not even 20-25 min later, all of our meal components arrived....that was a short wait! The porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly to our preference, and the perfect portion for us. Didn't leave us overly full! Delicious mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus. We had a discrepancy with our bill of an overcharge, but the owner was kind and handled it swiftly. Last year we didn't have room for dessert, but this time we took the walnut pecan pie to go, it was just ok. From the lovely entrance to the fantastic staff (cannot stress that enough -- the two gentlemen front of the house are absolutely grade A class). They have great drinks and drink prices. The gentleman in the front makes a fantastic manhattan-- it's $16 but it is A+. Their dry aged burger is very good. When my wife and I feel like having a burger, we always compare other places to this one. Best value and flavor/quality is here no question. They have a great restaurant week. But their steaks are great too. I've had their bone in ribeye and their New York strip. I don't know if it is because I had a great time when I ordered the strip but I preferred that steak over the ribeye. The place is small, I could say, it sorta resembles someone's house (IMO). It's nice. Comfortable. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The staff was very accommodating, the manager (or owner?) was very friendly, our waiter was a bit on the "all business", almost "rush, rush" side and who I'd say was the busboy seemed green. We ordered Porterhouse for 3, Lambchops, Ribeye for 2... Apps: Shrimp and Octopus... Dessert: Tiramisu and Cheese cake. The Ribeye looked splendid, the Porterhouse looked charred and dry and the Lambchops looked a bit underwhelming (again, IMO). I have grown accustomed to seeing porterhouse at steakhouses with butter. This place does not serve it that way. Upon taste... the porterhouse was great! I liked it better than the marvelously looking ribeye. This is a real neighborhood gem. From the minute you enter, everything is done well. The martini menu is amazing. The menu is varied and more than your traditional steak house. The Canadian bacon appetizer is mouth-watering The steaks were cooked to perfection and the onion rings were extra good. The pacing of the meal was just right with no rush between courses. The scallops I ordered had only 4 and were so small and not cooked properly. Very chewy and cold. Seems like precooked. The sides I ordered were cooked ok, under seasoned. Lacked garnish or flavor on the Brussel sprouts. As for the main course the steak, we had was under seasoned. For the prices I didn't think it was good value. We ordered the porter house for 2, Caesar salad w/bacon, a slice of bacon, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and sautéed mushrooms w/ bordelaise sauce. The steak was good, exactly what you would expect from a steak house. It was the sides that disappointed me. The mashed potatoes....I've had better, it wasn't creamy or seasoned well enough (that's just how I like my mash). The spinach was watery and was not creamy at all, not what I expected. The mushrooms were probably the best side we had that day but it was more sauce than mushroom if anything. The bacon I would also skip, too fatty and salty. Terrible experience. We went here for restaurant week and the place was pretty empty. We each got the restaurant week deal at $60 per person. I got the meatballs, filet mignon, and tiramisu. He got the mussels, lamb chops, and cheesecake. The meatballs were dry and if it wasn't for sauce, I could have choked on how dry these were. We had a few bad mussels in the batch that we had to place to the side. This likely is what gave us food poisoning as we both threw up in the morning. The filet mignon - I asked for medium well. Instead I got two charred filet mignon medallions and it was dry and well done. So, so bad. I was grossed out. You don't serve filet mignon like this! The lamb chops were alright, not seasoned well. Dessert was the best thing here. That should not be the case at a "meat" forward restaurant. I wasted my money here. I won't ever return. You shouldn't bother either. read more

My son and his wife lived nearby and they took me and her father for a early father day dinner. The decor had a old world feel to it. The service was excellent and came with a smile. They had a nice selection of drinks and wine. The main menu is what you expect from a steakhouse. We ordered several appetizers oyster on the half shell, meatballs, grilled calamari, French onion soup and a salad. All were excellent except the salad which was blah. Then we ordered the porterhouse for 2 and a rib steak for 2. We asked for medium rare and both steaks came out medium rare. The meat was excellent. Tender and juicy. Well seasoned. Overall a great experience. For the steak we had the tomahawk steak special which feeds 3 people. It is truly huge! We ended up getting 2 tomahawk steaks for the table of 6 people and several appetizers as well as sides. This was more than enough and we even had leftovers. We asked for medium rare, which probably came more on the rare side of the medium rare spectrum but I dont mind since I liked the flavors. I would likely skip appetizers next time and instead order more side dishes. Overall the side dishes were much tastier than the appetizers, in my opinion. On top of that, the sides are much cheaper. For appetizers we got seared scallops, mussels, and crab cakes. The seared scallops came as 3, but they were tiny and not very flavorful. Same issue with the crab cakes. The mussels were tiny and a bit more chewy than usual. For sides we got creamed spinach, French fries with truffle oil added, and steamed asparagus. The creamed spinach was hearty and tasty so I definitely recommend it. I'm glad we got the truffle oil added on for the extra cost as that made the fries pretty tasty as well. The steamed asparagus was pretty good too. The service was wonderful. They even offered to take some meat back to cook for extra time in order to adjust to the one friend out of six who likes the steak medium or well done. This was very nice. For example, the Grilled Calamari appetizer was a bit overcooked where some of the pieces were quite rubbery, while the side salad that came with it was drenched in dressing. French Onion Soup was a tad light on flavor (needed salt) and also a bit more time in the oven to char that cheese would have been nice. For entree, two of us shared a large Tomahawk Chop weighing over 40+ ounces. Priced very reasonably at little under $100 for a piece of dry aged prime beef, I wanted to love it, but couldn't. For some reason, though the center was cooked medium rare as requested, the rim of the steak was well done. The worst part of the steak was that much of the outside was way too burnt to enjoy. Btw, we got a Caesar Salad to eat along with the meat, which had way too much dressing again. Lastly, the Tiramisu was too sweet, and the ratio of mascarpone cheese to lady finger/cake was too much, with very little coffee liquor taste. Would I come back again? I would probably give this place another chance because the price of the steak was relatively inexpensive. However, I pray it's better next time, or I would not waste my time even if it's the cheapest steak in town. read more

They had a special of a Dry Aged Tomahawk Steak, 60 ounces on the bone. We ordered two of those and split it between six people while another ordered something else. We also got sides of hash brown potatoes, creamed spinach and mac & cheese. The steak was outstanding so rich in flavor and cooked a perfect medium rare. I found the potatoes to being very salty but everything else was fabulous. I made a last minute New Year's Eve dinner reservation for my fiancé and I, and we were both pleasantly surprised. I had never heard of this place despite being an Astoria resident, but it delivered. Look, it's not Peter Luger's, and I didn't expect it to be, but you can get a damn good steak here. We shared the grilled calamari appetizer, each got a French onion soup, and split a prime sirloin with a side of creamed spinach. The portions are slightly smaller than a regular meal, but filled me up quite nicely. We got dessert here as well, and that's the reason for knocking one star off. All of our desserts were mediocre - they ran out of the homemade tiramisu, so I tried the key lime pie and the cheesecake. The key lime pie had a slightly strange flavor, but I thought it was okay. The cheesecake was very disappointing, and was more sugary than the rich flavor of cheese. The service was slightly lacking - we may have had a new waiter. He brought out the olive oil and vinaigrette, but then we had to ask him for the complimentary bread.
