Dinner was amazing here! My husband and I had had a few appetizers and drinks at the bar another time, but never a full dinner until the other day. So happy we decided to have an actual meal here! The restaurant itself is calming, classy, and dimly lit, but a good amount of dimness. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating, but our server was fantastic and really went above and beyond! He went into great detail about each of the specials as well as other menu items, took care when serving the food (I ordered one of the specials: crusted halibut with cauliflower mash; my husband ordered the lamb chops), and even suggested wine pairings, which was helpful. We'll definitely be back!

Our server Chris was so nice and accommodating when we went here on a Tuesday for jazz night. One of my friends does not eat red meat and another is gluten free due to allergies. He made sure all our share sides were gluten free and checked sauces and sides. He helped through wine recommendations, I was very happy with the Sangiovese and my friend with her glass of Sancerre she had with her clam bucatini. The clams were a nice size and freshness. And the steaks had a nice crusting for flavor. I got the chocolate sesame crème and it was the perfect end of my meal. We will definitely be back for prime rib on a Monday in the future. Thank you Chris was a seamless meal!

The food was really really good. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Saturday afternoon. We were sat promptly and the waiter came over soon after to take our order. I had a mezcal Bloody Mary...tasty. We ordered the octopus, a salad and the Mac and cheese for appetizers. The Mac and cheese was so good. Some of the best I've had in a restaurant. I will say we ordered another and it wasn't as good but the first one was unforgettable. lol. The octopus was good as well. Cooked to perfection before it got too tough. My steak was the PERFECT medium. Tender and tasty.

The food is immaculate and what you get at a steak house! We were there a new year, so the service was a little bit delayed which was frustrating for us because we did have a reservation. The space itself is a modern/hip for the upper east side

This place is just about what you'd expect from a steakhouse. Good service, decent atmosphere, decently portioned sides, and a nicely cooked steak with optional accompaniments. In my opinion, the sauces were too weak to really enhance the entree. However it came in a medium sized pot with a handle, making it easy to use and share. The only thing that stood out to me was the creamed spinach. Every bite was quite rich but wasn't too dense. Did I have a good time with my meal? Yes. Did the flavors blow my mind? No. Would I come back? Probably no. But I don't regret coming here.

Everything we ordered was top-notch. The filet with three added scallops were cooked perfectly, and the macaroni and cheese was rich and comforting (though I'd recommend adding the lobster for an extra indulgence). The cream spinach was a great pairing as well. We did a build-your-own platter of oysters with two East Coast and two West Coast varieties that both were like butter and absolutely delicious. The yellowfin tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful, and the crab cakes are a must-order. The only dish I would skip is the lobster Diablo, but everything else we tried was outstanding. Service was excellent, with thoughtful recommendations that really elevated the experience. The ambience felt intimate, maybe because we had the restaurant to ourselves on a Tuesday night, but it made the evening even more special. This was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner delicious food, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

SUCH an amazing experience last night! I'm nervous for more people to discover this gem but...definitely my new favorite steakhouse in NYC. Food, drinks, vibe, service - 10/10. 1. The interior/exterior is very nice. 2. Service was on point. My server Brian was really great, very knowledgeable and honest. It's like he was reading my mind with drinks, I was never waiting or wanting for anything. I'm a little particular with pairing, so it was really nice that he was on top of everything. I also want to note the dining room attendants/waiter's assistants were excellent as well. They were a perfect balance - attentive but didn't overly hover like I've seen before. 3. I had an espresso martini and the tequila cocktail- The Master Cleanse. Both were excellent. I also grabbed a glass of sparkling at the bar before happy hour ended and both of the bartenders were super nice. 4. Last but certainly not least, the food was 10/10. Everything. I got 2 oysters and 2 cocktail shrimp, I loved that they came with cocktail sauce, Tabasco, horseradish AND mignonette sauce. THE NY STRIP! Amazing, wonderful and the roasted garlic on the side was perfect. Garlic mashed potatoes were great. Oh and the dessert was good, chocolate flourless cake, gelato with this slightly savory pretzel cookie was a nice touch. Obviously, I'll be back.

This restaurant was included in nyc restaurant week which was such a good deal for this place! Restaurant week is a prefix menu with a 3 course meal for $60. The restaurant is beautiful, very spacious, and the staff was great! They even had a live jazz band when we came on a Thursday. I started with the strawberry fields cocktail which was huge! The bread was so unique and was like a pretzel, soooo good! For my starter, I ordered tuna tartar which was very good. For my main, I ordered the skirt steak medium rare but it came out more in the medium side. A bit disappointing but it was still delicious and a very large portion. Dinner came with a side and I ordered fries while my friend got broccolini, both very good. Lastly, for dessert we got the cheesecake which was delicious. Overall our meal was very good and would recommend

We have been wanting to try Catch n Chop since they opened and glad we finally got the opportunity! We had a group of 6 persons, I was able to get a reservation on the same day for a Saturday night at 6:30pm. There were no issues with reservations, except if you book online they make you pay if reservation is cancelled, so make sure to look and confirm! When we arrived the restaurant was not too busy however by 7pm it was fully booked, every table was occupied! And I can see why! The food was stellar and the service was excellent. For apps, we ordered the grilled octopus, crab cakes and the special beets salad. These were all a huge hit, especially the crab cakes which were literally all chunky crab meat. For our main, we shared the branzino, rib eye steak, pork chops and the special scallops with mushroom risotto. The portion was large and we were able to share the dishes amongst our group. And we also topped it off with some sides, such as the brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, and wild mushrooms. Our group was shocked in how delicious the creamed spinach was! All of these dishes you cannot go wrong with and each had its own flavor. Overall highly recommend Catch n Chop, we will definitely return!

Hadn't heard of this place until coming for a work dinner. There was a special curated menu for the event, and it was hosted in the basement level. Very cute setup, and the food was quite tasty! The service was really outstanding. The waiter learned everyone's names and really went above and beyond to ensure the event ran smoothly.

Ribeye with béarnaise and garlic butter

100000/10 this place is the real deal. The food is EXCELLENT. I dream of the steak tartare and the bacon. The ribeye, béarnaise and garlic butter are other worldly. The service is amazing - we only sit at the bar and the bartender is attentive, funny and makes a good martooni! Restaurant is cozy and you'll no doubt have a great meal. We come into the city infrequently and sometimes I feel guilty about coming back here repeatedly, but it's THAT GOOD!!!

Stumbled upon this little gem after doing some research for places similar to Maestro's and other popular steakhouses. This was right up their alley, while it may not be as upscale it's just as charming, elegant, subtle and discreet. The restaurant has two levels- I believe the bottom level caters to private events. Staff were welcoming, smiling and attentive. I also appreciated the recommendations- be sure to tune in on their specials! Their mash was just delightful! The portions are filling and their drinks were also pleasing

This was the best culinary experience I had in a while. The hostess welcomed her and took our coats with a warm smile. The musicians were getting ready (they have a live band on Tuesdays and Thursdays) and the place was slowly getting packed. We started with the tuna tartare that was more generously portioned than I imagined and it was the best I had in my life. The subtle addition of sesame oil on the cracker was a nice surprise. For the main I took the seared halibut on beet risotto and mushrooms. I was beautiful and really good, but maybe a bit too cooked and crispy for my taste. Delicious nonetheless. My friend had the pork chop and it was perfectly cooked. We had a side of Mac and cheese that I would highly recommend ordering. For desert, we had the flourless chocolate sesame cake and it was incredible. I love sesame and the flavor mixed magnificently with the chocolate. Amazing experience. I'll go again to try something different. I feel like this is the kind of place where everything on the menu is good.

I ordered the STEAK SANDWICH. Mmmm delisc! Fries were so so good!!!

We had a 7:00 PM curtain and chose this spot partly because of its reputation for getting theatergoers in and out efficiently. Our reservation was for 5:30 PM, though we were not seated until about 6:00 PM, so I would recommend allowing at least two hours before showtime just to be safe. Once seated, however, the evening flowed seamlessly. Service was prompt and professional, cocktails arrived quickly (and were excellent), and the food did not disappoint. We shared the Italian salad and a pasta entrée -- both were delicious, and the portions were enormous. We ended up leaving about half. Total bill for three, including tip, was around $180, which felt like a very good value given the quality, portions, and Midtown location. We'll definitely return before another Broadway show.

The chicken parmesan was sliced really then and covered with a generous layer of mozzarella. We paired with broccoli, which was sauteed and super garlicy. Both were more than plenty for two people. We planned on having leftover parm, but it was too delicious. We saw another table with the Titanic dessert, and we were jealous but too stuffed. Maybe next time! Despite the crowd, service was great and the bathrooms were clean. The food came quickly and was all delicious. This is a great place the larger your party size so you can try a little bit of everything.

I made a reservation to be safe, as many restaurants now ask if you did so. This place is quite packed every night so it was the way to go. I came here for dinner post showtime and my son and I over ordered but happily enjoyed everything. I think our eyes are way bigger than our stomachs. Starters: - French onion soup, au gratin, was perfect. Great onion profile and lots of it. Not overly salty so that was good. - Beef tartare, classic French bistro staple, must order this. The portion was quite generous and it was delicious. We couldn't stop eating it. The petite toasts were a nice accompaniment as well as the raddiccio salad - cheese board, IYKYK, I never met a cheese I didn't like. This board was matched with nice pairings. Think grapes, fig jam, and marcona almonds. The cheese were a classic French variety - bleu, comte and brie. For our entrees, my son opted for a sandwich and I got the steak. His croque Madame was really delicious. The bread, the ham, the baked cheese and the fried egg was so savory. Yummy. My steak was a sizeable portion but I purposely ordered the bigger ounces since I know we'd share. Fries are nice and skinny, perfectly seasoned. Our waiter was attentive and I asked for the table next to us given all the food I know we were getting. He was not sure if he could accommodate but I insisted he check with management. They came over and put it together for me. I appreciated that given a table for two, for how much we ordered, it'd never fit. Totally would return. If you like French food, this is a solid spot to try.
