I stopped by Harlem Hops while waiting for my friend nearby. They were playing the game on tv, which was great. The music was fun and not too loud where I didn't have to yell. I was a little frustrated at the bartender who took 15 minutes before she addressed me, even though I was seated directly in the middle of the bar. They have a great selection of beers on tap, as well as other cocktails. I tried the #10 (forget the name) but it was really good. I'll definitely be returning to this spot.

This place has a nice beer selection with a wide variety of styles and many beers from regional brewers. There are bar snacks such as pretzel bites, which helps let you drink more beer without going on an empty stomach. The music is nice and the beer is good.

Loved this find while visiting Harlem. A nice selection of brews and opportunity to learn about local brewers. That said, their Old Fashion was the highlight of the afternoon. The ambiance was bustling but not too loud to carry conversation. Highly recommend!

Awesome craft beer option in the Harlem area and black woman owned business! We ordered a Ramstein Oktoberfest Marzen Lager and a Double IPA that were both solid. They have local and mostly small business owned options for many different styles, from different breweries/distributors. Service was friendly and helpful. It's clearly a more local place, but as beer travelers we couldn't miss checking this place out and were welcomed warmly. I think pricing is a par for the quality of options available compared to going to any old bar for any old beers. There was a book club finishing up in the smaller outside covered patio(has large steps down), I can't think of a better place to do an activity like that! They are a gorgeous art piece in the back with their name in street art style. We didn't have anything, but they have a food menu and the kitchen is open until about 9pm. There is plenty of bar seating and barrels with chairs accompanying them inside. It's a more cozy, chill, vertical space so not particularly good for large groups. There are clean bathrooms! No reservations needed.

    I had the #15.. Others had the #7 & #4.

I've visited a number of times, and it checks off on almost all of my boxes. Let's focus on what makes for their winning combination: 1) Great Staff & Service: They offer samples if you're unsure of just what to choose. The staff is very knowledgeable about each of the many types of beers available. 2) They also sell cocktails but I think beers are more the star of the show. 3) Back patio area. This space is covered and I recommend sitting back here if you have a large group. 4) A TON of different types of beers 5) They serve bites Worth checking out when in the area, or to get some beers in Harlem and support a Black owned business.

I am ashamed to say that I didn't spend as much time here as I would have liked too. From what I experienced, I did enjoy the time I did. This place is what happens when you get rid of the babers chairs and replace them with craft beer and small plates. I thought I was alone, being a person of color, who had an elevated appreciation of small batch beers. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. Like a barbershop, this is a place where locals gather to speak of things that matter to them. To enjoy in each other's company and to spoil their elevated taste bud's. When I return to N.Y. this place will be at the top of my list. BUT you guys REALLY need to update the menu on Google.

Such a fun spot for casual drinks and small bites! The beer was delicious (Robot Love is my favorite) and the space is comfortable.

Absolutely loved this place! They ran out of the sour they had on draft while I was there but they made great backup suggestions. The pretzel was amazing--highly recommend! I practically ate the entire thing on my own. I also thought that outside area was super cute and will definitely be returning.

Really cute spot. So glad I discovered it. A little pricy for Harlem but they have so many unique options and the staff is very friendly. Will be bringing friends back here.

Black owned by women! How dope. Chill vibe, a lot of brew options. Outdoor seating area but I did not explore. It's a cool quaint place for a good beer!

It feels like a coffee shop, bar, café, lounge and pre-party stop all at once. The bar staff were "nightclub friendly", they had party energy that this place doesn't warrant. They'd make fun hosts for a great party. The space itself is confusing in an interesting way. It's cold from the tiles and exposed pipes, yet warm from the wooden walls and historic decorative figures. Maybe the idea is that you show up with your group and shape the experience into whatever you want it to be. Still, I'm of the opinion that it's a shared effort. If I'm coming out and spending my money, I deserve an experience. Let me know who you are, and I can decide if you pass my vibe check. This mystified, vaguely eclectic, "we're different but won't say how" approach makes it harder to give new places a chance. I don't see a long shelf life for this one, but hey, I'm just a customer. Ordered: Jerk Mushroom and Vegetable Omlete - 5/5 If you've been following me you know i'm not that much of a breakfast person but rest assured The Good Good will be seeing me again. This is what I call a breakfast worth $25. Long story short, the Jerk seasoning changes the game; that is the secret sauce here. It brings out depth and heat to the rest of what you're eating. And then its also incorporated into the potatoes too and with the omlete oozing with juices it just makes the potatoes burst with flavor even more. This was one of those meals that you have to eat slowly because you don't want it to be gone. Service: 5/5 - It was great! Might be a little biased considering that we came right in the morning and a snowstorm just laid waste the night before. It works perfectly either way. This place is like your essential neighborhood dive bar, but with taste. If Tom's Restaurant had a cool, younger cousin who knew everything about beer, it would be this spot. It has that loyal following energy, the kind of place people in the know appreciate long before it becomes famous on a tourist list. They are known for their craft beer and let me tell you, they have a ton of it. I am not even into craft beer like that, but I like to experiment. At the rate I am going, it will take me about a year to get through all the options. Maybe two years if I behave responsibly. The food is great too. I think they have special days with unique menus or events once in a while because the times I went, something interesting was happening. Even on normal days, everything was on point. The fries alone are worth stopping in for. Simple, delicious, and dangerous. And the meals are well portioned, which is rare for a craft beer bar. What I really like is the vibe. You can come alone and mind your business or you can chat with a friendly patron. It does not matter. The spot builds community without trying too hard. In good weather they have a bit of seating out front. Do not let the neighborhood scare you off. The staff is excellent and the atmosphere is homey and comfortable. Corner Social is always busy and forget it from Friday afternoon onwards through the weekend typically. Seeing my opening, I took it today. I walked into the well appointed space and had my choice of seating. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my order came within ten minutes. Given what this kitchen normally handles, the pace of orders today was a cakewalk. The shrimp and grits are served on a bowl of a plate with a wide rim to exaggerate the amount of the serving. It's all very tasty, but they could afford to place the shrimp and sliced andouille on a more substantial mound of grits. Grits are very inexpensive and it seemed they could afford to have more of these creamy grits as part of a more substantial presentation, especially at this price point in the mid twenties. There are about six medium to large sized shrimp with a few slices of andouille to spice things up. To the credit of the chef, the dish managed good flavor without overly salting it or have it swimming in butter. Read that last sentence again. There seem to be cooked onions and peppers in the sauce, rounding out the flavors. Service was good at Corner Social and the bathroom is clean. There are far more things on the menu, but the shrimp and grits leave the palate satisfied, but the stomach wanting more for the value. It's a lively atmosphere with several flatscreens behind the bar to catch the game. 3.8 stars!
