Came for brunch as it was recommended by a friend. We were able to get the las reservation spot the night before for 10am. We were promptly seated up one arrival and brought water. To order we started with the Harlem biscuit basket which was accompanied with butter and jam. This was delicious and I would go back just for the biscuit basket and the jam. Next, I ordered the French toast which were topped with berries, rum spiced whipped cream and pure maple syrup. My husband had the shrimp and grits. I sampled the shrimp and it was really good, very seasoned. I also had a side of home fries and to drink orange juice.
The pan-seared branzino was delicious and I would definitely try it out again. I really enjoyed the ambiance for dinner and would suggest it for a girls night catch up session or a date for foodies. Next time, I plan on getting the Hot Honey Fried Chicken's . The cocktail recommended by our waitress was a specialty not usually on the menu and was delicious! She really helped us decide on what to order and did mind any questions. I can't wait to try more items on the menu.
One of the nyc restaurants with impeccable vibes and incredible service Food: we came here for brunch and it was a perfect menu! Both were such creative takes on brunch staples which I really appreciated! I liked the Benny a lot, especially the gravy. The egg sandwich was just fine! Ambience: the vibe of this place is so amazing! It was this amazing intimate feel with dim lighting that I love! Great for catching up with friends. I randomly visited The Good Good after an event in Harlem and was throughly impressed with my experience. The restaurant is in an unassuming location that turned out to be an intimate, beautifully decorated space. Although the restaurant was busy, I was seated quickly. I ordered jerk mushrooms, fried sweet plantains, and the drink special. The food was delicious and filling. The drink was also good but it really wasn't a "special" as it ended up costing more than my food items. All in all, I enjoyed this restaurant and definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Met a friend at Good Good after having a great experience there before. We stopped by around 12:30 PM without a reservation and found the place completely packed, with only a few seats available at the bar. I ordered the Coconut Fish Sandwich ($28), and my friend had the Smoked Salmon Benedict ($27). The coconut-battered basa was crispy and flavorful, with a subtle sweetness that really worked well. My friend finished every bite of her Benedict, so I'd say that was a hit too. Great food, lively atmosphere, and another wonderful visit. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes next time.
Very busy place with a supercool personality. I loved the decor and music choices. We went on a Saturday at opening time and by the time we left the restaurant was packed. The service was super helpful and we went for a few of their most popular dishes. Jerk mushrooms and Brussels sprouts: I'm putting them together because I found similar problems in both. First, they came at room temperature and tasted like they were barely reheated... not a good start. Second, both lacked flavor... tastes very plain. Last - just my opinion - I don't think the ingredients in both appetizers worked well together. I didn't enjoy either of them. Codfish fritters: disappointing. A very small serving of fritters that tastes like they had very little cod in them. They were more doughy than fishy. Branzino: although the fish was delicate and cooked perfectly, I wasn't a fan of the butter peri-peri sauce, which I found (again) lacking flavor. Hot honey fried: this was a solid dish, and the batter was sweet, spicy and crunchy as advertised. Overall, after reading the reviews my expectations were high. However, I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed. Almost everything we ordered had problems, and considering their high price tag ($150 for the above), we were expecting more creativity and surely much higher quality. Sadly, I can't say I'd return, mostly because after having their most popular dishes, I'm not curious to taste other options on their menu.
I went here for my 35th birthday dinner and I really enjoyed myself. As soon as I walked in the ambiance caught my attention immediately, I loved how dim and romantic the vibe felt. I started with a Daiquiri that was so well made followed by the jerk mushrooms which were an instant favorite, I keep thinking about them. My entree was the Branzino which was so flavorful, it was laid on top of on a bed of veggies that were so delicious. They were tangy and crisp, they were one of my favorite elements in the dish. I also added the rice which was classic and my date ordered the Pat La Frieda burger and enjoyed it. Overall I really enjoyed this meal, I felt satisfied but not stuffed and the service was great, the waitress was so kind and informative. I will definitely be back again
TLDR: 5/5 - Yeah so that was the best omelette I've ever had and I definitely need to come back to this super cute place for dinner. Ordered: Jerk Mushroom and Vegetable Omlete - 5/5 If you've been following me you know i'm not that much of a breakfast person but rest assured The Good Good will be seeing me again. This is what I call a breakfast worth $25. Long story short, the Jerk seasoning changes the game; that is the secret sauce here. It brings out depth and heat to the rest of what you're eating. And then its also incorporated into the potatoes too and with the omlete oozing with juices it just makes the potatoes burst with flavor even more. This was one of those meals that you have to eat slowly because you don't want it to be gone. Service: 5/5 - It was great! Might be a little biased considering that we came right in the morning and a snowstorm just laid waste the night before. So even though I thought ahead and booked a resy safe to say that they were quite accommodating to the 4 of us in the establishment during our service. The tables are quite close together though so be prepared to have that instance where you're actively trying to not easvesdrop the table next too you. It seems as though they save their booths for bigger groups. With thhat all said, it is a little small in here so I'd still reccmomend you book a reservation.
The Good Good was an absolute 100/10 experience from start to finish. The vibe is intimate and cozy, with a perfectly curated soundtrack that ties everything together and creates such a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, making you feel taken care of the entire time. Shoutout to my waiter, Zuri, who was amazing. I enjoyed the White Bordeaux Château Graville-Lacoste Graves (France, 2022), which was crisp, smooth, and paired beautifully with the meal. The food was next level: the crispy Brussels sprouts were addictive, the dates with bacon hit that perfect sweet-and-savory balance, and the pan-seared Branzino was cooked to perfection. Every bite was packed with flavor, spices, and thoughtful execution. And don't even think about skipping dessert, the Tres Leches was to DIE for. It literally melts in your mouth and was the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. The Good Good truly lives up to its name! incredible food, great drinks, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. I'll definitely be back.

Our server and the host were very attentive and friendly. The food was more of the disappointment. I promise you, the Good Good is one of the best brunch places in Harlem. The Good Good is firing on all cylinders, and the ambiance and service are superb. This review flowed from my fingertips so easily because The Good Good delivered a great vibe and a full stomach. A restaurant of this caliber should be located somewhere in the heart of Harlem, but it's situated a bit off the beaten path. However, don't worry, because it will be worth the short walk from the 4 line near the 25th precinct. That said, upon entering, your eyes will be captivated by an array of Afrocentric patterns and colors. The bar and its amazing bartender will be there to welcome you. I will say that Sunday brunch gets busy, so please make a reservation and be aware that they have two shifts. The brunch shift and the dinner shift. Once again, once inside, the excellent staff will take it from there, and I promise you, you will be captivated by the ambiance, music, and artistic flair of the plates passing by. I had the shrimp and grits, and it was the best I've had in years. My friend enjoyed his food as well, and the appetizers were a hit. I must mention the drinks; the bartender did a great job. Well, I repeat, The Good Good should be placed at the top of your list. Indeed, everything about the Good Good is damn Good!

Always a great time and meal at The Good Good. Spicy, eclectic menu that's worth trying. From the steak to the fish- yum. Drinks are always well made, Donnie always makes me a mean Negroni. Overall, staff is warm and friendly. Warmest, chillest, ethnic vibe that I've always enjoyed. And Fridays with Marcus djing, adding some groove to the whole air. Together- all these keep me coming back.

This Harlem neighborhood gem is tucked away from public transportation and is located on Park Avenue and 119th Street. Unsuspecting on the outside you could easily walk right past it. I would describe it as one of those IYKYK places with a speakeasy feel. The decor was immaculate. A wooden bar gave it a bit of a polished rustic feel with mirrors and pictures on the wall. There was a high ball rectangular wood topped table in the middle of the bar area as well as a couple of banquettes against the walls. The wall lights were works of art. The place was simply an eclectic montage of comfortable and welcoming decor with hints of art deco inspiration throughout. Kudos to the interior designer!!!!! Please see my pictures as I tried to capture the ambiance visually. My friend and I were on our way home from visiting another neighborhood establishment when we stumbled upon it and decided to check it out. When we walked in we were immediately transported to a world of low lighting sepia tones and sheik embellishments. Our experience started off very grand. Greeted by a hostess we decided to sit at the bar for a quick drink. We saw diners enjoying themselves. The place had a low level of audio giving it more of an intimate aura. Our bartender remained professional but was a bit withdrawn. I ordered a sparkling water and my friend had a prosecco. We also decided on a quick nosh consisting of fish fritters and jerk mushrooms. Honestly, the fritters were disappointing as all I could taste was fried breading. The presentation was nice but the taste failed. The jerk mushrooms were completely delightful and the highlight of our dining experience. My compliments to the chef for the mushrooms as I will try to recreate them at home. Food and beverage pricing were on par with Manhattan establishments. The staff were very nice. We went kind of late and stayed until the establishment closed. Never once did they make us feel rushed to leave. We chatted with the hostess and another server before leaving and got a little history of the place. I must say the bathroom was amazing!!! A single unisex room with handicapped bar installed. Please refer to the pictures. It was beautifully decorated and the cleanest bathroom in Harlem!!! Even the floors were very art driven. It was a pleasure to use such a well kept and decorated facility. I was extremely impressed with this Harlem establishment. Definitely worthy of a date night and as a travel destination dinner. Totally give it a 5 out of 5 and most definitely will patronize it again in the future. read more

Small but mighty. Came from brunch on a Sunday and def would come back for the cod fritters and shrimp and grits again. The grits were very smooth and creamy, with big prawns. The cod fritter you definitely taste the cod and the tartar sauce was divine. Oh and the plantain with lime salt was interesting, not your typical gooey sweet plantains, worth a try. Love the ambiance and vibe. Saturday nights they have a live DJ! Very friendly service. Great flavor profile, a great spot to try if you find yourself in Harlem. read more

This place is lovely. It has a sultry vibe, eclectic décor, and cozy, dim lighting that makes you forget the outside world. The music plays at the perfect volume, low enough that everyone can still have a conversation. The staff is so chill, they blend right in with the guests. The fries and fritters (pictured) might get you in trouble. They're delicious! I'd need to try more of the menu before giving that fifth star, but as cute and vibey as this spot is, it feels like more of a date place. Heavy on the intimate energy. read more
Not to be corny but the Good Good is definitely good with me. This place feels like a hug, and it's slightly tucked away vibe sets the tone as soon as you walk in. Whether you are having a drink up front at the bar (their cocktails are made with such care) or having a meal in the back, you will definitely leave satisfied. I've been here for dinner and brunch and every time I go, I have to ask myself how come I don't come here more often. It's good place to catch up with friends or family, have a date or simply dine solo and and enjoy the sounds ruminating throughout the restaurant. While the dinner menu is not as large, every dish on it hits - their shrimp and fish dishes especially. For brunch, you'd be remiss if you didn't try the French toast, codfish fritters or the coconut fish sandwich. The cozy Caribbean vibes are truly here, and I'm already thinking about my next trip back. read more

One of the best meals I've had in a long time! We're in town visiting out daughter who's in med school not too far away and wanted to eat close to her apartment and found this place had an open table and came highly recommended. All of the reviews were spot on! We finally ordered family style and had the yams, seasonal greens, brussels sprouts and fried chicken. The cocktails were fantastic too! Will definitely be back the next time we're in New York! read more

Good Good on soul. Good Good puts they foot Into every bowl. (*for all my non-Blacks, please note that this last line is not to be taken literally and is a compliment to the chef). With my daughter's trip back home to the West Coast fast approaching, she and I thought about doing brunch at a quaint spot in City Island- but decided to come here instead. And we're so happy we did. Good Good is so at the level on Park Ave+W. 119th St in Harlem! It's fairly new (about a year and change)- but it's already an instant hit in here in Harlem. Good Good's design inside is mixed with one side of done in a white-washed brick wall, the opposite is cream, some wooden African pieces on shelves, plants and those irregular-shaped edge mirrors. The African music playing softly in the background, set the mood alright. Although Good Good is on the smallish side, you shouldn't be fooled by the size of this place. The menu offers something for everyone and we felt the flexibility is worth it! Between the vegetarian and pescatarian items offered, that my kid and I can eat, we couldn't decide what to order- because everything sounded delicious. The fluffy codfish fritters she and I shared have a nice heat and are totally unmissable! I'm not finished. She and I shared a side of fried sweet plantains- and these are done on the spot- none of that day-old crap that a lot of restaurants pull. Thank you! My kid loved her hefty Jerk Mushroom omelette hooked up with a wonderful salad+breakfast potatoes and I was in all my carb glory enjoying my Buttermilk pancakes+ Caramelized bananas. Period and end. Not for nothing but- don't miss out on Good Good. (Somehow this place has connections with The Edge Harlem?). When anyone asks me where to eat in Harlem, this is top of my list. The Good Good is fantastic. Between the speakeasy vibes to the delicious food and drinks, I'm obsessed with this place. I enjoyed the vibes of the restaurant and the service was good. My friend and I ordered shrimp and grits, sautéed greens, a side of eggs, and a biscuit basket. Shrimp and Grits: 7/10. This is a Southern staple for me, but unfortunately it didn't quite hit the mark. The onions were a bit large and the grits didn't have much flavor. The sauce saved the meal. The eggs randomly came out about 20 mins before the meal. We let our waiter know and she told us that it must've been a mistake. When they brought our meals out, they brought out the same eggs from earlier. They were cold. By the time the new order of eggs came out, we were nearly done with our meals. The sautéed greens were large. They weren't chopped down, which could just be a preference. I wish it had more flavor. Espresso Martini & Biscuits Basket: 100/10 recommend I just wish the biscuits were bigger. read more
Nothing makes me happier than good food and this restaurant lives up to its name. The food is good good! I would go back just to eat the damn grits!! My friend and I started the meal with the biscuit basket which came with four biscuits, strawberry jam and butter. Great way to start the meal. My only suggestion would be to soften the butter. My friend had the shrimp and grits which was delectable although, she would have preferred more grits. I had the French toast and bacon. Yummy, yummy. I also ordered grits on the side....to die for. I would go back to order eggs, grits and bacon and be very satisfied!!! We had the tres leches cake for desert. It was the only part of the meal we did not enjoy... Excellent flavors, fairly attentive service, beautiful decor. Since I'd been last, it felt like an additional small table for 2 was added to the row opposite the booth seats, so the seating was tight. The food was excellent, especially the yams, yet after a spicy bite of a hot pepper, I struggled to get the attention of the wait staff. As we were only drinking water, the offer of a bottle on the table to refill juice-glass size glasses would have been appreciated. The yams were the best dish, with a crunchy sweet outside, savory outside with an incredible blend of sweet, salty, spicy sauce. The branzino was grilled perfectly yet the sauce was a bit watery. Dessert was a perfectly soaked layered cake (tres leches). My friend left nothing but bones for the chicken dish, repeatedly commenting on the high quality of the dish. The dish that lacked flavor and consistency was the rice and bean appetizer dish that the wait staff did not know how to say. Overwhelmed with thyme, the jasmine rice was dry and kidney beans hardly evident. We ate only two spoonfuls. The restaurant lighting is soft with a warm orange/yellow glow, perfectly reproduced in all the photos posted for this restaurant. This place is an entire vibe! The drinks, the service, the atmosphere were all top tier. I really enjoyed the sea bass and the jerk mushrooms the best. Not typically something I would've ordered, but not ine single regret. When I think about daiquiri, it's never a rum filled drink like this. The drink was definitely a pleasant surprise. Went here with my sibling last night and we loved it! I will definitely return and tell folks about this wonderful spot. Old fashioned was a solid choice but I'd love to try some of their more unique cocktails in the future. Yams, Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms were all outstanding. Seriously would order each of those again, every time. Branzino was very good and well cooked, just not as outstanding as the other dishes we ordered. The burger at the table next to us looked great as well, as did the sauteed greens. The vibes in here are immaculate. Great decor, cool fun people, perfect music, and it smells amazing. It's cozy not cramped. Definitely recommend for small to medium size groups and dining alone or in pairs. Perfect date night, perfect birthday outing, perfect girls night out. read more
The Good Good lived up to its name! Had a great brunch with friends. I usually prefer bottomless brunch cocktails but I knew these cocktails would be great. Had the brunch martini which was as expected, great. I also ended the meal with a coffee cocktail that I can't remember the name of. That was the only disappointing part of our experience - no espresso martinis. My group got: Codfish fritters - 11/10 MUST try, we ordered another after finishing the first. Fried chicken benny - 7/10 Jerk mushroom omelette - 8/10 Shrimp and grits - 9/10 Oh service was excellent! I wish I remembered his name, even the bartender came out and engaged. read more

Busy and loud- make a reservation! A little pricy for the area and no signage outside to indicate it's there. But delicious food and super nice staff. Would definitely go back. read more
