First and foremost, I have patronize this business for years and I'm a loyal patron of the Brooklyn location. However, this past Saturday night on 4/20/2024 my friends and I visited the Harlem location and we experienced the worst bar service ever. We ordered three drinks and the bartender made them and there was a mystery fourth drink. When questioned about it, he stated "oh that's a drink somebody left behind." Ok no problem, but I'm not paying for this guys drink (an unknown individual standing next to me where the drink was in front of). I grabbed the drink and placed it to my right. The unidentified male questions this, and I tell him; it's not yours so it shouldn't matter. The bartender yells at me and says my bill is $74 (while trying to grab the fourth mysterious drink, he knocked over one of my ordered drinks). I repeated, I'm not paying for his drink. The bartender says, "you're not." Ok, so why is the bill $74? He just looks at me. So I ask, how much for one (because they were all the same with the exception of that mysterious drink)? Bartender says, $17. Now I'm pissed. $17x3 (anywhere is) $51! Where's the other $23 coming from? I asked for a manager! He stated he is the manager! REALLY! Your attitude, unprofessionalism, and inaccurate math is unacceptable and unbelievable. He claims he was attempting to explain. NEVER did he attempt any kind of explanation or correction. Instead, he kept repeating $74 each time he interacted with me. During all this time, it's literally closing time because the lights come on. After lying about trying to calm me down and explain, I called him a lair. Since you want to clearly over charge me and my friends for three basic drinks and then lie about it all and claim to be the "bar manager"; you really handled this situation like someone who lacks basic customer service skills and no management experience at all. Since the lights where all on now and the DJ was thanking us all from coming out, I told the 'Bartending Manager'; he can keep those drinks and that I will be posting about this experience because I don't like liars and he is a LAIR. That whole crazy ordeal did not need to play out like that. Ps... was gonna over charge us, serve us the drinks, then kick us out immediately afterwards. WOW. This place is a great spot to hangout at with friends or to meet good folks. However, be aware of everything and everyone around you ...especially when interacting with the bar staff. Pay close attention to what you are paying for and ask for a detailed receipt. Even if you're paying in cash, ask for a detailed receipt to ensure you were properly billed and rather or not a tip was automatically charged; so you don't over tip for basic services. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I sincerely hope the owners of this establishment takes this review serious; as I was disappointed with the service received that evening. However, it will not affect my ability to revisit this establishment. Understandably, I will be more cautious and ask for upfront drink prices before placing an order and request a receipt for all orders at the bar. I will not seek any assistance from the staff member that attempted to extort us. read more

I think out of all the NYC bars/clubs I've been to, this is the BEST. The DJ was ok but I'm biased being from Atlanta. We are in NY visiting from DC. We arrived at the club located at 1031 Grand St, Brooklyn, NY last night at around 11 PM. It advertises an opening time of 10 PM. It was not open. To call the female security guard with the "set it off" cornrows unprofessional would be an understatement. After telling us the club wasn't opened yet, she said "who shows up at a club on time?" Worse, she started popping off petty insults about us to the other security personnel. We were nothing but friendly to this woman. Needless to say we did not go into this club. We took another $60 Uber to another bar. I don't patronize and reward poor service. As I see it a business is not in business to make money if the public facing people it employs are dismissive and disrespectful. I was looking forward to having a good time at this establishment. Music is great!!! Well drinks are nice and strong but way too overpriced- $17-20$ with tip for a Jameson Ginger Ale. Also Big Bertha that guards the bathrooms- y'all need to pay her more because she asked me to buy her a strawberry Hennessy and she'll Apply Pay me. Than she told me she couldn't afford to pay me the $20 and her phone died. So on top of that she can't afford to buy herself a phone charger. How embarrassing for your establishment. Also one of the bathrooms- the light was out. How y'all can't afford to buy a light bulb to fix the bathroom but yall can charge $20 for a well drink. Make it make sense please. Went to this nice place with my friend it was her birthday she wanted to hang at a lounge so we went there they have beautiful art there along with great music and good customer service the bar tender was a nice guy who mix our drinks. It was my first drink from there so gave it a 7 of 10 but the place had a nice vibe to it there was barely anyone there because it was a week day but I'm sure on the weekends the place is full but if you looking for a calm chill longe good place to visit they have couches and great music along with a nice vibe there. read more

Recently attended special fundraiser and was greeted by door person/security with requests for ID and proof of COVID vaccination. No problem! I presented my NYC-issued Identification card that's valid for ID and access throughout NYC including government buildings but was asked for NYS identification. There's something wrong with this... It seemed as if this might have been a decision made by the security person as opposed to the actual policy. That was my first problem. Then I ordered a drink. It was happy hour but only for well liquor. So I got the preferred alcohol and paid with cash. I was owed dollars and change of 67¢ but wasn't given the change, only the dollar amount without explanation. (Probably didn't have coins.) What kind of customer service is this where you decide to, in essence, charge more for my top shelf drink and ignore the fact that you're keeping more money than you're rightfully due. Shouldn't I have been informed that they didn't have change and given the option of paying with a credit card? I didn't make a scene and just factored that into a tip which would've been more if I had been treated respectfully by providing all of my change. Overall the bar had cool interior visuals and was clean. There was a nice vibe but I believe that was created by the group that was having the special fundraiser as opposed to the bar itself. This was my only second time to Lambda Lounge after the first time the previous night on a Thursday, which was not very busy at all, verging on dead. I thought I'd give it a second shot and return there on a Friday night, which didn't seem crowded or even busy. I met a couple of nice guys with whom I chatted briefly. Not all clientele was either willing or easy to talk to in this LGBTQ + "friendly" bar/lounge. One of the bartenders was somewhat engaging there were 4 people behind the bar on a Friday night. I was charged $45 for two drinks with a $4 tip of which one came in a miniature kiddie glass. The music was blaring to the point of distortion, and the DJ blasted noisy sirens every 5 minutes or so that were deafening. It was almost impossible to hold a conversation without having to shout. I want to apologize for what I'm about to say Because the bartender was very nice and treated me and my people very well, 10/10 service, he deserves a raise cause he was on it the whole night. Whoever is management needs to hire new security, because unprofessional staff like that will make you lose business in the long run. I spent over $200 last night ( 11/23/22) just for this brain dead security guard to grab me up and push me out the door, for no reason whatsoever. It's alright if I was drunk or acting out, but I wasn't. When I asked for a reason to why I got kicked out he didn't have one. HE ALSO Threatened to have me beat up which is weird, power trip maybe lol, but just know I'll never come back here and I don't recommend coming here Straighten out your security. Found this place through another gay lounge that just opened up on the 127th called west 4 lounge go check it out. Came on a Saturday night just to check it out with a friend it was jampacked could barely walk through and didn't have much of any seating areas they have about three VIP sections but you have to buy two bottles of alcohol which start at $150 a piece and I'm pretty sure you have to reserve those spots before hand. The vibe is amazing the music is amazing and the drinks are very well-made but definitely on the higher priced and literally about $20 a drink and if you want to get litt at a bar probably not the place to be unless you get here during happy hour 6-8pm from Tuesday - Friday. Also if you want to get a seat anywhere that's not VIP also probably got to get here early as well like when it first opens up. Hookah also HELLA EXPENSIVE coming from a person that really likes to do hookah. $53.00?? WHY?? If it wasn't for the music and good vibes really not worth it also big old SAUSAGE FEST ALL THE TIME?? Pretty cool spot. Just went for the first time tonight. Fun vibe and cute guys. Unfortunately you need to be a millionaire to afford the price of the cocktails (almost $20 for a vodka tonic - wtf - am I at the Four Seasons?) and the weird little velvet rope VIP area that feels like a nod to the meatpacking district circa 2005. Lower the drink prices and turn the dated bottle-service section into a dance floor and this place will be awesome. read more

The security staff that works there is so rude & unprofessional. I've had at least 3 unpleasant interactions with staff there. Not to mention it feels like you're going through TSA just to get inside. Why do I need to be frisked? Never again. read more
