    F - Fish Sandwich

The sandwich was crispy and bun with sauce and pickled cabbage was light. The crème fresh on the hash brown was a little underwhelming but the caviar made up a slight bit. The bartender prepared a pretty good old fashioned.

So happy I decided to try this place ! Had an amazing experience ! Food was absolutely delicious I'm still drooling over the burger . Staff was super friendly and attentive. Menu had great options as well. Artwork on the walls stood out to me as well. I can't wait to come back to Harlem just to try more food here.

My husband and I decided to go to Winnie said for a low key anniversary date. Winnie's did not disappoint! I love a dim light setting. It is huge space there's a front room and then a back space. It was busy and bustling on that Friday evening. The servers were nice and attentive. The Winnie smash burger was BOMB! It's all i can think about lol. It came out hot, fresh and delicious. The fries were crispy. I had an espresso martini that was a play on s'mores. Delightful. Winnie said is my new favorite bar in the area. Reasonably priced and if you go to happy hour you'll get a deal on food and drinks. Definitely a great spot to go on a date or with your friends.

I love this new spot uptown and I will absolutely be back. I hope to make this a regular spot. I had the s'more espresso martini which was a fun take on a popular cocktail. The food was great. I was also so excited to see they hade Great Lakes Brewery's Christmas Ale on tap! Fun vibes. It feels like being in a slightly irreverent cabin upstate. The servers are friendly too.

Great addition to the neighborhood! Had an amazing time at the bar and the happy hour is great and diverse. The Falafel Sandwich is killer and I will be back for that within a week! Cocktails are phenomenal as well and the Smores Espresso Martini is very sweet and a dessert in a cup! The vibes are young, trendy, but also different than other places in manhattan. I wish this place best of luck and hope they do really really well!

    Wings and Crispy Fries

These were so good! I was wary because not a lot of places have gluten free fries so I was skeptical. These fries were so good, and the wings were bangin as well. Crispy, flavorful, same with the fries. I have dietary restrictions and they adhered to all of them. I usually don't like blue cheese but I figure I'd try it and I don't regret it, it was actually very yummy! I'll definitely be coming back. My only downside is the restaurant is hard to reach via phone, I was trying for 3 days separate times to get an answer, no answer. ):

Let me tell you what Winnie Said... We ordered a few cocktails, Trippin Balls, The Bivvy, and Morning Wood. The cesar salad was classic, nothing to rave about. The burger was delicious, perfect comfort food! The wings were juicy and butter and so much flavor. The ambiance is so cozy and cute! Like a cabin vibe. The music was also really good this night lol. I highly recommend. A great upgrade in the neighborhood for a chill night out!

Food: 4.6/5 1/2 The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the smash burger and my wife had the fish sandwich--both were excellent. We're definitely planning to return to try more menu items. We also ordered the Dip as an appetizer, but it never arrived. When our server finally remembered, he offered to put the order in after our entrees had already been served, which we declined. Service: 1/5 Unfortunately, the service fell far short of the food quality. We visited at 1 PM on October 27th, and there were only two tables in the restaurant--ours and one other party. Despite the light crowd, our server was inattentive throughout our meal. Key issues: * Failed to bring our appetizer until it was too late * Never checked on our table proactively * Both parties had to get up to retrieve our own napkins and straws * Server was distracted, singing along to his personal playlist rather than attending to customers * Most concerning: he began burning sage in the dining room while we were eating, filling the space with a strong scent that affected our meal Final Thoughts: The kitchen staff deserves recognition--the food is genuinely great and worth a visit. However, the front-of-house experience needs immediate attention. I don't believe the server should be terminated, but retraining on basic service standards is clearly needed. A server's primary job is to serve, and that didn't happen. I'm hopeful that management will review service on that date (October 27, 1 PM) to see the issues firsthand. We plan to return for the food but will hope for a different server to get the complete experience this restaurant deserves to offer. Ps I wrote this while I was in the restaurant because of how bad it was. If it was based solely off food it would be a 5 star. Please retrain him and don't fires him as I know how hard it is to find good employees.

Elote with pork rinds, popcorn chicken and buffalo wings
    Andrew H.

Checked out Winnie's on Saturday night and as someone that once visited the old establishment here, to call this spot a glow-up would be a complete understatement. Wont go into drinks as all I had was Montauk on draft (which is a major plus) but I'll speak on the food. We tried four things off the menu. The elote with pork rinds, the popcorn chicken, the buffalo wings and the smashed burger (not in the picture) and every single one of them HIT. Wings were crispy and perfectly cooked, popcorn chicken was hella tasty with the aioli dipping sauce, double smash burger and fries were perfect but the star in my mind was the cheesy elote and pork rinds. It's not something you'll find on a menu too often but when it's done right, like this, it's an automatic order. Very much looking forward to going back to Winnie's and trying more food, as well as diving into their vast beverage selection.

This is a place to find rare beer not ordinarily seen elsewhere. This was my first visit and I must have walked past Harlem Hops innumerable times along Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard in Harlem. This time I caught myself walking past on a beautiful Saturday with a five second delay and turned around and walked into Harlem Hops. Initially I thought I'll have a beer and keep it moving. I ordered a canned Hefeweizen, Deep Fried Highlighter Hefeweizen. Yep, that's the name and it was great. It supposed to have a banana note, but that was barely detectable. The clove note was there and it rode the top of this summer Hefeweizen nicely. Given this is one of the canned beers, they may have this anytime. Then I had American Pale Ale on tap, another great choice for a summer day: crisp, refreshing, cloudy light amber in color and unfiltered reminding you of a Hefeweizen. It has a slight citrus fruity flavor to my palate. There are sixteen taps. The taps change with the kegs, the season and what the owner sources from local breweries and beyond. Meanwhile, I'm having good conversations with folks who are regulars and the woman behind the bar, giving great recommendations. I forget the woman's name, but she is great. You can sample whatever they have on tap. She is good at understanding your taste profile and making recs. They also have a limited food menu. There is a backyard patio or garden and one can sit outside in front on the sidewalk. The dark interior is nice and cool on a summer day. The bathroom was clean as well. Four stars!

The bartenders often have a weirdly grouchy "bro" energy that makes you feel like you're bothering them just by ordering a drink. Last fall, one guy was even playing music that sounded like a Christian radio station. The lyrics literally had the word "Lord" in them. It felt less like a neighborhood bar on the UWS and more like I'd wandered into a roadside bar somewhere in the Bible Belt. Another bartender always seems completely checked out. It's hard to flag him down, so we end up sitting there with empty drinks until he eventually notices. On our most recent visit it was a beautiful day outside, but we decided to sit inside since we were planning to order a bunch of food and settle in for a while. The basement was musty and dark and all the windows were shut. We politely asked if they could open a window or turn on the AC for a bit just to air it out. The response was a flat "No." That was it. When we asked why, he said if he did that someone else might complain, and then he just walked away. He kind of just waived us away, it was the weirdest interaction. That was the last time we overlooked the attitude. We normally like to hang out and spend $120-$150 here, but at that price we don't want to feel like we're an imposition.

It's cold from the tiles and exposed pipes, yet warm from the wooden walls and historic decorative figures. If I'm coming out and spending my money, I deserve an experience. Let me know who you are, and I can decide if you pass my vibe check. This is what I call a breakfast worth $25. Long story short, the Jerk seasoning changes the game; that is the secret sauce here. It brings out depth and heat to the rest of what you're eating. And then its also incorporated into the potatoes too and with the omlete oozing with juices it just makes the potatoes burst with flavor even more. This was one of those meals that you have to eat slowly because you don't want it to be gone. Service: 5/5 - It was great! First, they came at room temperature and tasted like they were barely reheated... not a good start. Second, both lacked flavor... tastes very plain. Last - just my opinion - I don't think the ingredients in both appetizers worked well together. I didn't enjoy either of them. Codfish fritters: disappointing. A very small serving of fritters that tastes like they had very little cod in them. They were more doughy than fishy. Branzino: although the fish was delicate and cooked perfectly, I wasn't a fan of the butter peri-peri sauce, which I found (again) lacking flavor. Hot honey fried: this was a solid dish, and the batter was sweet, spicy and crunchy as advertised. Overall, after reading the reviews my expectations were high. However, I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed. Almost everything we ordered had problems, and considering their high price tag ($150 for the above), we were expecting more creativity and surely much higher quality. Sadly, I can't say I'd return, mostly because after having their most popular dishes, I'm not curious to taste other options on their menu.
