They had just opened, so it was pretty empty. But the ambiance was very casual. Logan was our waiter. He was excellent. He was very attentive (without being overbearing) and gave great recommendations. Logan recommended the Bourbon Braised Short Rib.......but unfortunately, it was not available. So I went with the salmon instead. It was delicious. My friend had the catfish and also enjoyed his meal. The appetizers were also flavorful, especially the quesadillas. The stars are for the servers. Whatever is going in the kitchen makes this establishment less than mediocre. I will never return. It looks nice from the outside, maybe the bar works for some but for me it's a pass. I ordered beef (burger) sliders with some fantastical bacon name added to it, but when they arrived, the ratio of the bread, tomato and burger did not add it. The tomato had more presence than the meat. I'm not sure what the bacon thing was about, but there was less than half of a piece/strip on top of the burger. The sliders appeared as if they were a part of a struggle meal... shit was being stretched so that each burger had a little of this and a little of that. Shameful! I sent that back and the waiter took my order for a regular burger, well done. I got a bloody burger, my coworker ordered a Caesar salad that was so wet. It became inedible. My bestie chose to come to Harlem Tavern to celebrate her birthday. We both discovered this place during the summer when we were in Harlem. We had a table reservation for 8 people and we were seated promptly when we arrived. Everyone enjoyed their food. However, I was told the jerk chicken quesadilla was really spicy. But that can always be added afterwards so that's fine. My friend loved her burger. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and just overall a delicious burger. The fries were also tasty as well. The entrees also came out very quickly (before we finished our appetizers) and were hot and fresh just like the appetizers. Alongside the speedy and well coordinated service, we both enjoyed our impromptu evening at the Harlem Tavern. The prices were very fair considering the amount of food we ate. While not perfect, it's a great place to grab a quick bite and hang with some friends. I imagine they get pretty busy while major sporting events are on with the amount of tvs around, so plan accordingly. I'd say try them out! read more

Ended up here on a whim just walking around Harlem on a Friday night. It was busy, however got seated upon arrival without a reservation. We sat on the outside covered area and the noise level was a bit much. Just be aware, not sure if in the proper restaurant/indoor area if it's any better.
