    Lobster Roll Cold

Everything we ordered was delicious, and both our hostess and server were exceptionally attentive. This easily could have been a five-star experience if not for the mishandled oysters. Unfortunately, whoever was shucking them seemed inexperienced...they were slow, left behind some grit, mangled several, and served many upright, which caused the wonderful liquor to spill out. However, we did get lucky that there was happy hour oysters at the time we went. So happy surprise. The chargrilled oysters were tasty, but at $23 for five, they felt overpriced. On a brighter note, the lobster rolls (both hot and cold preparations) were incredibly fresh and flavorful. Easily among the best I've had in a long time!

Space has a great vibe and the outdoor seating space is very cute. Service was great. Very attentive. We started with the chowder fries followed by the fish of the day which was the absolute star of the meal. My husband had the shrimp mofongo. We didn't have room for dessert but maybe next time.

Oh my goodness! Joe and I came here to this cozy spot for a comedy show tonight and had a such amazing time! Not only was the comedy hilarious but the food was delicious! They offered a $40 pre-fix menu which included an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. I indulged and got the crab bites for my app, the fish and shrimp combo for my entree and the carrot cake for my dessert. I also added a side of hush puppies, because why wouldn't I?! The food was DELICIOUS and they gave us so much to eat I ended up leaving with my lunch for tomorrow. Our server Brandon was a one-man show! I watched as he took care of every single guest on his own while also manning the bar, and he didn't skip a beat once! They have another comedy show March 13th and I can't wait to come back with more people to share this little gem!

Good portion ,great service, lovely vibes. Loved having fresh seafood at the yard on a summer day. Rosemary lemon drop was deliciously refreshing. Will be back.

The happy hour oysters are such a good deal because not only it's $1 but it's super fresh. I wish they had more options for happy hour drinks but the wine is decent. The service was good and we got seated quickly. The place is quite pretty and comfy. It has an outdoor seating with some lights and plants. It's a good place to go with friends or family for drinks. The only thing is that other than the oysters and happy hour. The other foods I tried like the lobster roll wasn't that great.

Cute trendy upscale spot, great for a date night or for drinks and a quick lobstah mac. A little fancy but nothing crazy, loved that we were able to get a table without any reservation or wait. However, the service was very slow, which is why I'm rating this 3 stars rather than 4. I think they hit a Friday night rush that was unexpected, but it took almost an hour for us to be served and we were hungry! Food Lobster mac n cheese: 7/10 The flavor was perfect and they gave us a lot of lobster pieces, but the texture was a little watery. I'm from the South and the texture of macaroni should be very cheesy/thick! Fish and chips: 6/10 Fish was fresh and nicely cooked with a little crunch of the breading. The sauce tasted almost Indian spice inspired which was a good mixup from the usual tartar sauce, but I do wish it came with both. Cole slaw was good, nothing special. Warm Lobster roll: 10/10 this was why we came and it did not disappoint. I love seeing both Connecticut and Maine style Lobster rolls on the menu and the amount of lobster/freshness was fire. Drinks Spicy marg: 10/10 great take on a classic Black forest: 4/10 I really liked the creativity but the muddled blackberries were too bitter making it taste a little like cough syrup, it would have been better with a dash of simple syrup to balance this. Service Slow overall, though polite. I would give this a 3/10 unfortunately, hopefully they will be able to manage multiple tables coming in at once better in the future / may need an additional server on Friday nights. Overall would definitely come back, but on a weekday so it's not as busy ~

Delicious happy hour deal!! The ahi tuna nachos are a standout. Staff is super sweet, the backyard patio is a great place to be on a Saturday afternoon.

Have been here many times and always had great experience but came on a Friday wasn't too busy but it appears they might be down on staff bc it took a long time to place orders and the food was not good at all. No one at the table was happy with their meal. The shrimp mofongo was bad the lobster roll wasn't real lobster claw meat and the fish tacos were bad too. Hopefully this one just a bad night for the staff and chef. Will try it again and hope for the best.

Food is amazing! Highly recommend the lobster rolls, shrimp mofongo, snow crabs and skirt steak. Great happy hour with amazing oysters. Super cute ambience.. Melina took care of us and the service was amazing. 10/10 spot!

Another excellent seafood place we found near us. We saw their advertisement a while back and thought of trying it but kept forgetting. So here we are. The restaurant's entrance is on the side of the street. You can miss it if you're not looking for it. We had such a great dinner here! Everything was so delicious! We started with a dozen fresh oysters, which was superb! Then we had a plate of watermelon salad. Oh this one was excellent! Then we had tuna nachos! Splendid! You must order this! That's an order! Then we had octopus tacos! Another great dish! Should we keep going? I think we've had enough! Yum yum! The best of all was the tuna nachos! The dressing on the tuna nachos was mouthwatering. I could eat this all day. Our waitress was great, but I forgot her name. I think Alejandra. We planned to return and try another nacho dish they had on the menu. I think crab nachos. If that's the one, I will try it next time. That watermelon salad was refreshing too. It had cucumber and goat cheese with watermelon and arugula. I loved it! I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent seafood and service! Thanks!

Angel was super nice and attentive. The garden seating is charming and surrounded by Potted herbs. Clean bathrooms. Yummy drinks (had two passion fruit mimosas) Oysters were pretty good and local Lobster salad was okay Shrimp mofongo was so good but a little too much rosemary for me. I def have to dine again to try other dishes. Another table ordered salmon which looked

3.5 stars - Found this place on Yelp as I happened to pass Astoria on a random week night. Saw a few fellow reviewers I follow and was sold! The reviews were a bit old but I still wanted to try some of the items suggested by my fellow Yelp Elites. As expected, I did enjoy seeing the revised menu, and the good list of cocktails. For the most part, service was really good. Our waitress was always quick to assist with our requests (dinner got messy so I needed extra napkins during dinner service, about three times). LOL Onto the food - Appetizer - crabmeat guacamole sounded delicious and looked appetizing but the chef was slightly heavy handed on the citrus. The lemon just over powered the dish. Instead of tasting crab meat, it was more like a lemon guacamole. A bit disappointing because crab meat has a very light flavor but I did enjoy the chips that were served with it. I even asked for extra which our waitress accommodated. This review gets the extra half star for her service. I also ordered the butternut squash lobster bisque. Great combination and there were a few chunks of lobster to be found in the soup. The overall taste was somewhat sweet. A nice thicker texture to the bisque. It had a good balance. Entrees: the shrimp mofongo was a hit (per my dining companion). The sauce was savory and rich I'm told. The portions of shrimp were generous as it would seem, there was shrimp in the center where the plantains were featured. The waitress said there was no shrimp in the center where the plantains were but she was wrong. I almost tried it for a taste but decided against it. The other entree which was for me, the hot lobster roll. The bun seemed quite small in length but packed a lot of flavors. It was hot, grilled, and lobster piled on high. I was very pleased with the sizeable bites of lobster. The fries were perfectly cooked (can swap for potato chips as the substitute). And the cole slaw was another surprise. It was not as tangy as many others I've had before; almost a sweet/lighter finish which I thoroughly enjoyed. Glad to have tried this place. My eyes are bigger than my stomach. There's seafood boil, fried snapper, lobster rolls two ways, and clams on the menu. Note: oysters (only $1 during happy hour (see photos for time). Good for groups, especially the drinking crowd.

We always have an amazing time here; the oysters and the lobster, and fresh seafood are amazing. This was the second time in a year that we came here, and the service did not disappoint. The restaurant and bar have a comfy back area where you can sit away from the street, relax, and chat. By Astoria standards, the prices are moderate, and the bar is a little more relaxing. The downside, which is pretty minor, is that the restaurant is a little off the beaten path, so it is harder to find if you are taking public transport. All in all, it is a firm recommendation and one everyone should enjoy!

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. Give this place a 6.5
