The drinks were very strong and just okay in my opinion but they have a very creative drink menu, and I absolutely love the vibes! The lighting and decor really takes you back in time and I had such an amazing time decompressing after a long day and catching up with friends here :) One MUST GET item is the braised pork rice omg I haven't had such a delectable braised pork dish in a long time 10/10. We all cleared our bowls and I definitely wish I could've had another one

I came here with a friend to grab a quick drink while waiting for the waitlist at Gulp. Ambiance was nice, this was formerly where 929 used to be. The bar looks relatively similar in theme. Drinks and cocktails were good! A bit pricy for what it is. Good spot to come hang out!

I'm typically not a big Espresso Martini fan, but the Kaoru felt like it had a good amount of alcohol -- despite too much foam -- without tasting like it had a lot of alcohol. It was creamy and smooth with the perfect hojicha flavor. 56709 was a small and intimate cocktail bar, and we got the perfect amount of service. A table for 2 was available for walk-in on a Friday night.

A Japan-pop themed speakeasy located inside Gulp. Loved the fun lighting in here but the drinks really are the star! I got the matcha, red bean, and lychee cocktail which was one of the best cocktails I've had. It was incredibly smooth and easy to drink, and the matcha foam was perfectly sweet and flavorful. There's a 1-drink minimum per person which is very easy to hit.

Everything was amazing as always! Came when this place was originally 929 and needed to come see what the vibes were for 56709 :)) The place itself is small but cozy, I've gone when it's busy busy and still felt comfortable and was able to easily have conversations. Service is always wonderful, they're very attentive and know the menu well. I always go for their recommendations and never get disappointed. All the drinks we tried were super yummy especially the Momoko and the Pika Pika 10/10

Hidden inside of Gulp, this speakeasy is the sister/renovated version of 929--a Canto/Mando pop themed speakeasy. 56709 is J-pop themed and is a casual, chill vibe inside. They offer a variety of amazing drinks as well as some food options (from Gulp). I got their Ringo and Pika Pika and thoroughly enjoyed both of then. They were both sweet and refreshing. My friend got both of their specials for that night and also enjoyed them. My current favorite bar in LIC and I would highly recommend.

Not too different from what it was previously (929), but still quality, unique Asian inspired cocktails + amazing vibes. Loved sitting at the bar to see the drinks get made and interacting with the bartenders! It is a bit loud in the seating area so it might be a little hard to hear. Minimum one drink per person required!

We got incredibly lucky to snag a table at 56709 thanks to a sudden rain shower--otherwise, you definitely need a reservation for this spot. This speakeasy-style bar is such a fun surprise, blending a Japanese pop aesthetic with delicious Taiwanese comfort food. We tried three cocktails--Windy Lady, Let's Kiss The Sun, and My Sugar Babe--and every single one was exceptional. Perfectly balanced, creative, and just downright delicious. For food, we ordered the Braised Pork Over Rice with a side of Pickled Cucumber, and both were fantastic. Cozy, flavorful, and exactly what you want to pair with great drinks. A special shoutout to Paolo, who was incredibly attentive and took wonderful care of us throughout the night. This place is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to come back--and next time, I'll make sure to reserve!

Tried the Pika Pika, Sailor Moon and Epo. I love fruity, sweet drinks and the pika pika tasted like lychee juice, delicious! The Sailor Moon was gin based, superrr smooth and strong. The Epo was very creative, pisco with red bean and matcha! sweet, light and strong. 90min reservation, minimum one drink per person, great vibes. Located behind Gulp!

Service: 4.5/5 Food: 4.2/5 Price: $$$ ($30-50) It's the rebranded 929 + honestly, the vibes haven't changed much. Just small swaps to the decor + music choices. Revamped menu has a cooler concept, bc you can order your go to cocktail with their added twist. As per usual with speakeasies, it's hella dark in here. Unlike other speakeasies, it's actually quite loud, so not the best for long catch ups + serious talks. What I Ordered: - Akina: only the rim is spicy, not too strong - Momoko: a little decadent, mostly sweet - Epo: top layer is a chocolatey cream foam, bottom layer is strong - Anri: spiked citrusy soda - Junko: strong - Arale: strong, looks pretty

I make a reservation for a Saturday night for this j-pop inspired speakeasy hidden behind a Taiwanese small snack shop called Gulp. This bar is the sister bar of 929. I got a matcha red bean cocktail which i liked as it tasted like a dessert.

I like this bar a lot! If you want anime, old school city pop speakeasy vibes, this place is it. My friend and I got lucky and was seated right away as a walk in on a saturday night. The drinks and snacks are good.

4.5- but here is why I am missing half the star I really miss the old HK inspired bar. This one is fine but really missed the HK inspired cocktails and theme. I do think the drinks are good, one tasted like Taiwanese winter melon tea,m and my shiso drink actually tasted like shiso! Drinks were on the sweeter side but one can see that the bartenders really took their time to make it perfect. From scaling every ingredient to the details for presentation, it is indeed a good quality cocktail bar.

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. Give this place a 6.5
