This has been my spot for a number of years. 4 nights a week? Love the food and I feel like it's my family. I've had a problem with the woman owner who brought the worst smelling shrimp to my sister. When she complained she asked if she wanted another plate of shrimp. Really? no apology free drink, nothing. My sister won't try again. Just last week I was given an extremely hot plate of my chicken francese and burned my hand. When I approached the woman owner she said it was the kitchen's fault. I was furious. She brings the food out the least she can do is own up and warn the customer. Because I argued I have been asked not to come back. My answer to that is there are plenty of restaurants that are delicious and if I want Italian I'll go to Armando's on northern. read more

Cake here spontaneously because me and my BF were too lazy to walk further than to Romeo's. We've come here for lunch with my parents in 2023 but didn't have a great experience because when we came during lunch (around their open) no one was around to seat us and we weren't sure if the place was even open. Literally not a soul in sight. Fast track to this past weekend, we decided to give it another go and we really enjoyed ourselves! The place was packed, so while we were lucky enough to get a table without reservations, I would definitely recommend booking a reservation if you plan to come on a Friday or Saturday night. I ordered the Pollo Alla Francese and very much enjoyed my meal. My boyfriend got the ravioli in meat sauce which was also very good (had to stop from taking more than a single bite). We were also surprised at how fast the service was, since the place was packed we didn't expect it to be quite so quick, but when we order drinks, they arrive within five minutes and we were able to order a second round with no issues. I ordered a lychee martini and was surprised and extremely pleased to see that it came with three lychees. Considering this place is extremely close to me, I would definitely come again and would recommend anyone in the area to also give it a try. read more

The food isnt good. I went with my aunt who ordered this pasta with seafood (salmon, fish, shrimp, asparagus, spinach, etc) and it tasted bad. The fish in it had that weird fish taste. The Lasagna i ordered the meat tasted a bit of sweet and like ravioli , the pasta layering was also very bad. The bread given was cold and hard. The prices are also expensive for the quality. As we were ready to leave asking for a check we were asked if we wanted dessert. As i told the waiter countless time no she kept insisting and insiting where my aunt then felt bad. I had a cake at home for her since she was visiting the country. Because she was being asked she just told her you and so she ordered a tiramisu and it has to be one of the worst ones weve tried and for such price ($10) only a little piece. Romeo's Italian is a restaurant that falls right on the edge of little Bangladesh. I've passed by this place many times, and felt that it was an odd placement to have Italian amongst the south Asian restaurants surrounding it. Without even looking at Yelp, (something I religiously do before going to a restaurant), me and friend decided we would randomly try it. We got one of the special of the day dishes, which was lobster pasta. It was $60 and it came with an entire full size lobster. The pasta included other seafood such as clams, calamari, shrimp etc. The portions were very large that we were able to share one dish and take some home. Note: this dish is made with white wine as indicated in the menu but we asked them to not use the wine for our dish. Something fun about this place is there was live entertainment in the evening that we attended. The man singing/DJing was entertaining to watch. There was also a karaoke option too that the entertainer kept vocalizing about but no one came forward (small shy crowd). Not sure if this is an everyday thing either, so check for that with the restaurant if you want this option. Staff were very friendly. read more

I waited a few days before writing this review so my disappointment would subside. I walked in last Wednesday for a late lunch a little after 3pm, lunch special was just over, no problem. I was alone in the restaurant, which was clean and comfortable. I order a glass of wine, read the menu and ordered the soup of the day and chicken Francese. I asked about pasta and was told pasta came with the meal. My meal arrived, no soup of the day. Remember there was no other customer in the restaurant. The pasta was hidden under the chicken, which I have never seen in any Italian restaurant. I had to get up and go to the wait station to get grated cheese. NOT one person came up to me to ask how my meal was, was NOT asked if I needed water, if I wanted another glass of wine. Service was horrible! When I addressed these issues with the "manager ", he offered dessert on the house, I refused, I paid my bill which was $45 and walked down 37 Avenue to a local bakery and had my dessert and coffee. Romeo's is an Italian restaurant in name only! "Pasta under the meat", never in an Italian restaurant. I don't mind spending money but not for the type of service and presentation! Also got antipasto Caldo which comes with shrimp, clams, stuffed mushroom & eggplant rollatini. Everything was pretty good except the stuffed mushroom didn't contain bell peppers which I forgot to tell the server to omit. The set price Lunch menu is an excellent value for traditional American (NY) Italian cuisine. Surprisingly I ended up adoring the cheesecake. Thankfully it wasn't the mass produced Jr.'s that everyone thinks is It! just now, but a bit more authentic. Tiramisu was fine and everyone was happy with it. Portions were not as huge as they use to be in decades past, thankfully. And the veggies are much better prepared than they use to be as well. Loved the Veal Parm, and other indulged indulged in the Shrimp parm. Everyone was happy and well satisfied. When I'm not in NY I miss the warm, crunchy soft bread being served with the choices of olive oil and butter -- I sometimes do both! Heck if I'm going to indulge I want to do it right! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars.... I came here years ago before the fire that happened. The previous restaurant had the best fettuccine Alfredo I've ever eaten. And when Romeos finally rebuild and reopened I haven't gone to them until today. I made reservations for my significant other and I as it's our special occasion. We were greeted pleasantly by the door and the waiters were very attentive. Sadly it was hot in there because though the AC was on they had 2 windows open.... Makes no sense but hey.. and our table had several fruit flies around it. They have live music every Monday before 8PM which was great for our occasion. It has a very nice romantic atmosphere. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo of course and it was even better than what I remembered. It was so delicious! My darling ordered the chicken francaise which he wasn't impressed with, he gives it 3 stars and enjoyed my meal more ha ha! I tried his chicken and it honestly was good... I would have given it 4/5 stars. He didn't like the presentation because it had a huge drum stick bone sticking out of it which he didn't understand why it was there if his chicken was pretty much "pounded like a pancake". I don't want to give them 3 stars because it's low but they do need to work on the fruit flies situation and the temperature comfort. It was hot! However I will definitely be going back for their fettuccine alfredo, but perhaps for takeout if I return this summer. read more

Took my family to dinner and had a bad experience. Service was slow, and ended up having to ask for our appetizer order again as they forgot to put it in the order. We waited over 30 minutes with nothing coming out. During that time, they had a bad Elvis impersonator singing at high volume. I spoke to the manager, and he wasn't very helpful. Only one of wait staff did anything to try to make things right. I've never gone to a restaurant where they tried to collect tips for the singer, table to table, and pitch someone's wine business. I really enjoy going to Romeo's. I'm a solitary eater and always feel comfortable and catered to. They are accommodating with my diet restrictions. They always remember my cocktail. Came here for opening night Friday as we've been vehemently waiting for this spot to open up. Wonderfully done interior with a coat rack at the entrance and both bar/table seating. While looking through the extensive menu, our server brought out complimentary bread, butter, cheese, and fried zucchini. While the items probably would have been better warmed up, the cheese was spectacular - cut right off the wheel and great flavor. For the main course, ordered the Chicken Parmigiana ($22) - a large flattened chicken breast that was well breaded and topped by a slathering of melted mozzarella. Extremely filling, though I had asked for spaghetti with the meal and it came with fries instead (actually pretty good). To finish off the night, had both the tiramisu ($8) and chocolate cake ($8). While the cake was supremely rich and chocolatey, the tiramisu was subtle and light. Both are great options with the cream and fruit provided. To go with all the food, also had a glass of chianti ($8) - a bold red that didn't overpower the meal. While the service was definitely up and down for.opening night, they more than made up for it with general friendliness and several free offers. While the aforementioned bread was free, we also got a complimentary pour of wine and a hefty discount off our check. Really good people here, and as I live nearby will definitely come often for a nice sit down meal. read more

I do not recommend this place. Mediocre and extremely expensive. Not authentic Italian cuisine at all. It's like a restaurant featured on one of Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares show. The food is bland- mushy, soggy and overcooked - as if it was frozen and then reheated. We had some fish plate and it smelled terrifying. Another reviewer mentioned that some food accents - like olive oil to accompany bread- were ignored. Yes, exactly. Something is off. This place was probably hot sh@t back in the 90s. read more

I'm not sure why this place isn't getting better reviews. It's a nice looking place, service is great and prices are not bad. Is it a 5-star Italian like Babbo, Carbone, Del Posto, etc? No, but for a neighborhood place it is definitely worth the 5 stars. Complimentary cheese, bread and bruschetta to start. We had the mussels and octopus as starters, generous portions, tender, tasty. Chicken Parmesan was pounded out to thin crispy perfection. The veal saltimbocca was one of the best I had anywhere. The special osso bucco was delicious, although the saffron rice on the side was disappointing. We shared a tiramisu and Italian cheesecake and both were the perfect end to the meal (both served with a delicious cream on the side (zabaglione?) Romeo's has a touch to it. There's something endearing about the subtlety of the decor. It isn't flashy, only the logo in the front comes in neon. It doesn't even look new. Everything is clean and soft. It looks like a restaurant on the upper something side that I had never heard about yet it's existed for decades. And the food matches that. There really is a touch where the dishes are traditional with a menu I'm completely familiar with, while the flavors soothed and satisfied. We got... Eggplant rollatini, which reminded me of my childhood neighbor's version and the sauce was really light and happy. Taglietelle with sausage was cooked so toothsomely well - I can really tell the chefs are trying to make great food. Veal piccata with sauteed spinach - nicely done, good flavors. A little small but I guess that's expected for veal. Tiramasu - the complete dish with homemade whipped cream and ice cream or something like that was really nice. All in with 2 glasses of wine, taxes and tip, came out to $110. It's more than I like to spend but it's reasonable considering it is a new place in a nice setting. As a local, this is something different and it was such a good feeling to be able to walk home from a nice night out. It is such a relief not to take the train or taxi home from another neighborhood. For an anniversary, a Jackson Heights couple cannot go wrong here. I hope they are a success and the other neighbors patronize them. They deserve it and I hope we deserve it too. read more

The place: Very pretty. The walls could use some art. Maybe a local artist could be featured every season. They did a great job getting everyone, who came through the doors, seated in a timely manner. They even added a couple of tables alla Goodfellas to achieve this. The food: It smelled wonderful. They were out of artichoke salad so I chose baked clams instead. They were not cooked at all. It looked like some one used the Creme brûlée wand to brown the bread crumbs. We sent them back and the manager accommodated us by bringing a new cooked order and removing it from the bill. This was the right thing to do and it was well appreciated. The clams tasted ok. My friend had the Cesar salad which consisted of some shredded romaine minus the croutons. No parmesan cheese. The dressing was nice. There was a bit of a delay in getting our entrees but I am glad the place was packed. The staff is plentiful and attentive. The potato encrusted salmon was plain but edible. The shrimp scampi and the capelinni with mushrooms and pance really shined. The spinach could have used some garlic and the boiled potatoes were nice. I think it would serve Romeo's well to chop up some of the parsley they used for garnish and add it into the actual dishes. Food placement and presentation could use a bit of work. The chocolate cake was very good. The Creme Ingles looked gloppy but it was very tasty. The limoncello was "on the house" which was a nice touch. The price: We paid $200 for 4 people including one glass of wine each and the tip. The ristorante just opened so I think it has great potential once they get the kinks out. They didn't have the soft shell crab from their special menu (we came at 4:30pm, so not late). Ordered an arugula, pear salad. Wayyyy top much black pepper for a salad with arugula. Can't speak to the food since we have waited over an hour from when we ordered and food has not been served. We won't be coming back here. Cleanliness/appearance : Dining area was very clean. However the bathroom can do a bit of tidying (used paper toilet all over the floor). They also let non-customers use the bathroom. I was there and they let a guy use the bathroom who did not come out until 30 minutes later. Decoration/music: The roses on the table needed to be changed - they were almost dead. Music was great but it was bachata music - I forgot I as in a Italian restaurant Staff: VERY FRIENDLY. NO negative comments about them Drinks: AMAZING. The cocktails were great - the bartender knew what he was doing. Try the spicy romeo's. Food: Great appetizer selection. But bread was soaked with tomato that it was soggy.
