While I would say the pizza is average, the five stars are for their incredible pepperoni pinwheel. I am pregnant and pepperoni pinwheels are something I have craved, so I have eaten a lot from many different pizza places in Queens and Long Island. Have had the pleasure of our catering being taken care of by this establishment and I can't say enough positive things about the job Christine and her staff are doing for us. From delivering to our hotel building to our office they have been absolutely outstanding. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have been catered and itemized and bagged up and delivered to three separate locations without a hitch. Breakfast options are very varied and healthy, lunch offers salads pizza pasta and sandwiches and the hot meal at dinner is outstanding. Honestly I don't really know why so many bad reviews, well I guess everyone expectations are different. I come here often, is near my work so I walk towards this restaurant at lunch. One thing you have to know that the restaurant opens at 12, the sandwiches bar is open earlier but for alcohol is at 12. Yeap I know, sometimes I drink at lunch hahaha, shhh, don't tell my boss. The servers are always very nice, they always have a big smile, this is very hard to find in the restaurant industry. The menu is not too big but is good. Sometimes, not always, depends on the server , you can order sandwiches and eat them in the main salon. The bar is huge, I mean they have good options for hard liquor. The wine list is very good quality. My favorite drink here is sangria! Extremely good! Highly recommend!!! I don't eat much here so I can't tell you what to eat. Awesome restaurant. I usually play the bar and ordered my food & drinks which is great. Laidback atmosphere, very clean, and food is delicious. Also the wait staff is very accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to eat or through special events. Also the girls behind the desk are very nice. It's a great neighborhood restaurant. Great spot for different options. They offer great breakfast sandwiches in the morning and a nice bar/restaurant at night. They just renovated and it looks beautiful. Terrible. My partner and I went here on our break. She orders a pizza roll and I ordered a Sicilian slice. My slice wasn't in the oven for more than 1 minute when he took it out and handed it to me. I didn't make a big deal. My partner, upon biting into her roll realized the inside of her roll was uncooked. She took it back to the counter to either get something else or her money back, when the man proceeded to tell her that it was just melted cheese, when you could clearly see that it was dough. I was in the area with a friend of mine and she wanted to stop in for a slice of pizza. I was hesitant due to the C letter grade the last time I had been there 6 months ago. Was willing to give it a shot but wanted to check to make sure the letter grade was an A before entering. After looking it up online I discovered that this establishment has had multiple health inspections since my last visit, however, still no return to the A letter grade that they had lost in January almost a year ago. We gave this spot a few tries but we're done. The pizza is nothing special if you like cold, floppy, soggy pizza go ahead. Don't get ripped off with their 10$ dollar pie special, it's not the same pizza it's actually a lower quality pie and they skimp out on the ingredients. If you asked me 2-3 years ago (before their expansion) I would have given this place a solid 4 stars. Now it's a 2 star at best. They can't seem to make up their mind what they want to be. Fancy Italian Restaurant or premium bodega?... From my understanding a few years back, Antonio's, the former Tommy's Deli and the other Spanish deli on the same block all merged into one and became Antonio's kitchen...because of this they have gone down significantly in terms of quality and are seriously going through some sort of identity crisis. If you go in, the deli/pizzeria/hot food/Latin cuisine are all on the left side and the restaurant is on the right side. Towards the back is a private room. The renovations were extensive but the whole layout of this place just baffles me. You see a lot of the same familiar faces from the previous Antonio's/deli, but they don't seem as warm and friendly anymore... they just seem super stressed. I have stopped coming to this place within the first year of their extension, but recently went in to grab a slice of pizza. Their pizza looked like it was sitting out for hours (mind you it was around lunch time). I walked out and went somewhere else. I remembered at that moment why I stopped going. It's such a shame because this was my go-to lunch spot. Now I have to drive deeper in Astoria to get a decent slice of pizza or sandwich. read more

There must've been a baby shower or something going on in the back room, but it wasn't frantic or crowded at all. In fact, the room to the right of the hostess desk was empty. If you asked me a few months ago this place would have 5 raving stars but they have severely declined. The pizza went from delicious thick square slices to terrible thin triangle slices. The flavor is horrible and the prices were increased. Furthermore, on more than one occasion I was overcharged for what I ordered. Example: I ordered a plain place and was charge for specialty slice, and there was no refund or difference given. And the deli closes at the most random hours, don't go at 2:30pm on a Sunday for a salad, because the deli will be closed and the teenage boys working will have no clue when an ice coffee is or the sizes. I ordered a large and a small iced coffee and was told "well they are the same price so just get the same" and he gave me 2 small iced coffees, not what I ordered and I had to remind him 3 tines that black meant no sugar, milk or creamer. There used to be a great girls that worked here that were friendly but the new workers are just that workers, they don't have the same friendly environment and charm that Antonio's once had. In my opinion do yourself a favor and walk down two more blocks to the other pizzeria because it's the same every time. And not a gamble with what cashier or which pizza guy you get. Antonios is also always changing the way in which are supposed to go order. Update: lowered from 2 stars to 1 on 9/30/2018. Extremely rude staff, waited for over 10 minutes for a breakfast sandwich before the cook walked in the room complaining. Then when I tried to talk to a manager, I was hung up on twice. This place is something else, we just returned from a Mother's day family gathering. Where do I start? The service and the management not only were terrible, but they came across as the cheesiest money shysters in the history of dining. Let's see why, shall we? Our table ordered appetizers and they came out while the band was setting up. Everyone got their appetizers and the last, ordered by my brother in law, was headed to the table when the waiter diverted and, wait for it, he gave the calamari to the band! My brother in law said, basically, "WHAT WAS THAT?" then sat watching as everyone else ate their appetizers (including the band) except for him, while he waited for another order. Waiter comes back with the new order of calamari, then fills the water glasses, spills the water on my brother in laws lap, then when he comes back to retrieve brother in laws plate, proceeds to dump all the crumbs from the empty calamari on brother in laws lap. Here's what's next, we asked for a wine list. We were told that there was not a wine list. The waiter walks away and comes back with a list written on a legal pad (WITHOUT PRICES). My brother in law asks how much for a particular wine, the waiter informs him that it is $50. My brother in law then informs him that in every other restaurant, it is priced at $25. Then My sister in law asks the waiter "don't you have a wine list?" and miraculously the waiter (who said they didn't have a wine list) goes away and brings back a wine list. Sister in law then orders a $35 dollar bottle of wine. Waiter goes away, then comes back to inform us that they are out of that particular kind of wine. (At this point, it feels like I am in a comedy). Her's when it becomes hilarious. We have two children with us, a six year old and a one year old. They become hungry and we are told that they don't have a kids menu. They force the six year old to order the prix fi menu which they say is half priced for kids (this has become a skit on a comedy show by now), fine, I get it, you want to make money by serving the three course meal). My cousin orders a small bowl of pasta for the baby. They bring a huge plate of pasta. We get the check, they are charging the six year old and the 1 year old both $50 dollars. They told us the six year old would pay half price, and the one year old was only served pasta with an attempt to charge us a $100 for both. I look fondly at this experience because it was unbelievably funny and I dislike getting mad. I worked on Wall Street for twenty five years and have eaten at every 5 star restaurant you can imagine, and plenty of other places that didn't have that many stars but delivered in spades. I am not exaggerating when I say that this restaurant was the worst restaurant I've ever eaten in. It makes it even funnier that the food wasn't even that good, it was subpar. George P.S. Many of us love this place and as a daily regular I have become truly disappointed with the service, the lack of the disrespect I see by management reprimanding staff embarrassingly in front of customers unacceptable and that's naming a few. You have lost most of your locals and I am one of those who will be taking my business elsewhere. It's not about money guys it's about servicing people. Sometimes you get it right but it's far and few between. Not a big yelper but I felt the recent experience I had warranted a review. I recently threw my parents a 40th anniversary party(60+people) at Antonio's Kitchen. To say the least everything was perfect. From the get go Antonio's manager Dave made the daunting and stressful experience of throwing a party a relatively streamlined and simple endeavour. He was extremely organized and professional. Any problems or questions were a phone call away. The party itself went extremely well. Initially I had reservations about the venue but the party space itself looked amazing. Wonderfully vibrant linens were supplied and staff helped us with the floral arrangements. The night of the party I was really impressed as it looked like a top notch venue. The staff was helpful, gracious, and attentive. There was an open bar (Liquor included) at a very fair price. We had waiters walk around with five different hors d'oeuvres for the first half hour which cost extra but was worth every penny. All were delicious. We had a choice of 5 different main courses and people seemed to enjoy them especially the Penne alla Vodka. There were some minor complaints from my guests about the salmon but all in all the food was above average and nothing a little tightening in the kitchen couldn't solve. We had a napoleon cake and cannolis for desert and they were awesome! I would ignore any negative reviews that happened from last year as Dave came on at the start of the year and has righted Antonio's ship. All of my guests have complimented me about the party. If you want to throw an event I would highly suggest Antonio's Kitchen and I am assured you will have a wonderful experience. read more

If you're planning to host a larger event or party DO NOT do it here. I hosted my son's Baptism here and the service I received was terrible. Their portions were tiny and there was barely enough food to feed everyone even after adding on additional appetizer platters, and being assured time and again that there would be more than enough food. I was also missing an appetizer that I was promised. When I told the chefs about the small amount of appetizers, he told me he was told to serve one platter per table. When I later spoke with the woman that organized the party for us, she told me the chefs make the executive decision on what to serve. The salad, pasta, and entrees were also tiny portions. No one was available to take drink orders until an hour after the party started and there was not enough staff for the number of people I had. I was told guests would be able to order drinks with the servers, then told during the party that they need to go to the bar outside of the room. I had 65 adult guests so I thought this was ridiculous. Cake, pastries, and coffee were served after the time the party was supposed to end and coffee was cold and served after dessert. Not only was the room not ready until after the party's start time, but tables were disorganized and not the way we'd discussed. Extremely disappointed and will never be coming back. Instead of enjoying my time, my husband and I had to chase down staff. read more

This place is fairly new and is located in a residential neighborhood right by Riker's Island. So that means they must be friendly since there customers are families and people protecting NYC from bad people. They are extremely friendly. It's not a busy joint but the people who work there are nice and the service is good. It's more like a Bar with a pizzeria in the back. So if you go there to eat don't expect a 5 star joint. It is a friendly environment, never packed because of the small clientele. They have TV's to watch sporting events. I usually order out from this place. I usually get a pasta dish. I haven't had a bad one yet. They are all good. They also have delicious salads as well. There portions are big so your dollars are well spent and there will be left overs. This place want to take care of you. Sometimes when I order late at night, right before they are closing. Antonios's food is alright. The garlic knots are overdone and don't have enough garlic. The pizza is pretty standard for the area in price and quality. It did take a long time to get our food, however. The service is pretty sub-par. The thing that used to be great about Antonio's was the price. The beers were $3, the wine was cheap, and it has a nice atmosphere. On my last visit, the beers were still advertised on the menu as $3. However, when the bill arrived, each beer was $5. The advertised prices were false. We pointed it out to the waitress, and were informed the prices had gone up recently. Apparently, they are okay with increasing the prices, but not with informing the customers. We were more annoyed by the false advertising than the price increase itself. Antonio's is similar to any other pizza joint around Astoria/East Elmhurst, except you never know what you'll be paying until you get the check. Paulie and staff were beyond amazing with our group. Coming from Pittsburgh with 16 soccer teenagers and families was difficult to find a restaurant! I'm a local from the neighborhood and my family and I order frequently from here as well as visit the bar for a few drinks or eat in once in a blue. Thankfully I have not had an unpleasant experience there, the staff is always nice and friendly and the food is delicious. As for the delivery time, yes it could be a bit long at times but the place is usually packed and the food is completely worth the wait in my opinion.
