Alfie's Pizza is tucked away in Richmond Hill & does have some great stuff & is popular for a good reason. I didn't have the pizza or the garlic knots that looked absolutely amazing but instead had the chicken caesar wrap. It was quite tasty & filling plus the price was great as well. THE best pizza in allllllll of NYC. Went to Joe's near Times Square... naaahhh that ain't it! They have good service, but the pizza wasn't hitting' like Alfie's Pizza. Do yourself a favor if you're in the city... take the hour or so train/subway ride out to Alfie's Pizza. The sauce is amazing and the service is even better. I am a sucker for a good square and had to come to Alfies. This is an old school spot and I am glad I came. The upside down slice is awesome. Crunchy and fluffy. The flavor is perfectly balanced. Best Sicilian. Seriously. Tasty sauce and cheese. Crust is light and yet crusty on the bottom and sides. We travel 20 minutes just to get slices. The garlic knots are delicious too. I'm in the area for jury duty and looked up some of the best slices near Kew Gardens. Enter Alfie's - well worth the 15 minute walk - tucked in the lovely neighborhood of Richmond Hill! Friendly fellas behind the counter. I ordered a Caesar and a grandma slice plus a DP ($8 total, a steal compared to some other places). Apologies there's no pic, but the Caesar was so good I gobbled it up too quick! The grandma is also delish - well seasoned, crispy crust, perfect sauzz to cheese ratio. I moved away from Queens and up to Westchester a few years ago. Had Alfies today for the first time in years and it still checks out! Best pizza I've had in my life. Went back to RH to visit where I grew up. I went to go to Alfie's but could not park anywhere close. In fact, the parking in RH is a nightmare! Then went up to Dani's but no parking as well. Stopped off at New Park on way back to LI, got a spot in lot, but pizza sucked. Just not the same there! Drove back to LI telling everyone about the parking. Oh well, maybe next time. When it comes to a traditional Sicilian pie, Alfie's is it! Sliced into 12 slices, the perfect dough is lightly topped with a marinara with great flavor and seasonings and then shredded parm. I ordered it through Yelp to be delivered and it arrived even faster than the time quoted. Nowadays, if you want to order a few different slices from some place it's over $20 easily and this pie with delivery (tip) was $27 and has given me 6 meals/snacks (albeit not the healthiest) but I've been in the mood for a good Sicilian and now I don't have to look further. read more

I love how super old school this place was, it has been around for over 45 years and the nostalgia was great. I heard of this from The Pizza Show: NYC's Other Boroughs and they featured this place with Action Bronson, so I decided to take a trip. I was talking to the owner Luigi and he was really nice, I talked to him about the episode and he said Action was bouncing around everywhere lol But yeah just talking to Luigi for a few mins was pretty awesome and the pizza was great so definitely a place to check out. The food: Upside Down- I thought this was good and I liked how the sauce had a nice pop from the tomato sauce. The dough on this has a little more crisp than the Sicilian, which was nice. Between the two, I think I would give a slight edge to the upside down. Sicilian- Nice classic and fluffy Sicilian, this was made well and I enjoyed it but it kinda felt like I was eating bread. But the fluffiness on this was great, so soft and pillowy but the upside down had a little more flavor. read more

I'm a New York that has been living in Georgia for the past 8 years. And God, do I miss good pizza. I got off of a flight today at JFK and searched the highest rated pizza shop close by. An hour later I walked into Alfies. My wife and I ordered slices: sausage and pep, pepperoni, cheese, and sicilian. Every bite and every slice had me in pizza heaven. Also, sicilian isn't typically my style, but this was the best I have EVER had, and I'd definitely repeat. 5 out of 5 stars and everything you could ever want from a pizza shop. We ordered three more slices on the way out for later tonight. Pizza: 5 out of 5 Price: 5 out of 5 Owners: 5 out of 5 and SUPER friendly I'd go out of my way next time I fly into JFK to stop by. For those who are close by, Alfie's is open every day 12-9 PM for takeout and delivery during these crazy times. 4 words for you: CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD PIZZA!! If you know, you know!! I'm here to convince you to try the chicken caesar salad pizza! Okay, I know it sounds weird to put a salad on a pizza slice, but so does putting pineapples and yet we all still eat them! lol. Every time I have one of those, oh I'm going to watch what I eat today kind of day, I end up at Alfie's for my salad slice. haha. It's the perfect combination. You really can't go wrong. It's so delicious! But honestly, everything on their menu is very enjoyable, super fresh, and affordable. The customer service is phenomenal and they take care of you like family. Went with a group of friends this past weekend on the recommendation of one of them that had grown up eating at Alfie's. Honestly I'm a bit ashamed I've never been here or even heard of it before because it was SO SO GOOD and deserves all the praise. We got the Sicilian and an upside down pie and both were fantastic. Also, I don't know how because the ingredients are the same, but they taste different! It must be the way the tomato sauce soaks into the crust versus the other one not doing that...not quite sure but it's magic. Chunks of tomato and sauce with spots showing cheese. My initial experience went like this; A bite into the cheese diffuses oily, fatty flavor which hits you with happiness. A bite into the tomato portion offers a hearty, satisfying sweet tomato flavor, which you really don't get at other pizza shops. Cheese is thick and sturdy and doesn't ooze oil at all. It's more of a pure mozzarella. Crust is light on the bottom. You easily bite through. Edge crust is also light, with a uniform and simple flavor profile. Although this slice is heavy enough to fill you up, it's not an ugly, heavy piece of pizza. Overall, this is worth taking a drive down to Jamaica, Queens. When in NY, usually try to get to Brooklyn for my pizza addiction, but short on time and stayed in Queens. Tried out Alfies based on Yelp reviews and it lived up to the rating it holds. I went with 5 Stars because not only was the pizza hitting on all cylinders, the customer service made me feel like a regular and at home. She greeted us warmly, was patient while we decided what to order- Went with a special - Large Pie, Garli. Knots and 2 Liter Soda for $16 - WOW, and while waiting I could not resist a slice of Sicilian Style. Just what the doctor ordered for my pizza taste buds fix. The sauce and cheese was incredible, warmed me up for our pie, so good, despite knowing my upper mouth was going to get burned just had to eat as soon as it hit the table. Paid the price, but so worth it- Definitely fulfilled the New York Pizza craving, till my next visit to the Big Apple. read more

Today was my first time trying Alfie's pizza since I moved into the neighborhood 3 months ago. When I say I was flabbergasted at how good this place was... The garlic knots... so fluffy and soft, no skimping on the garlic here at all and they are big as hell. The veggie grandma slice, the veggies tasted so fresh and sweet. The chicken parm slice... magnificent. 10/10 place. The staff is very friendly and warm as well. Don't bother going anywhere else in Kew Gardens, just go to Alfie's. After reading the review in the Daily News I decided to go try Alfies Pizza. The news reviewer compared Alfies to L&B and DeFara in Brooklyn. I took my daughter who is a fan of L&B's upside down slice she ordered one of Alfies, I ordered a regular Sicilian. We shared them. The dough was too thick and pastry like and could have used more sauce. Salt, pepper and grated cheese were added and that made the pizza a little better. We then ordered their regular slice but we still had to add the above condiments to make it tolerable. I think the Daily News reviewer needs to rethink her pizza palette. We will not be going back. When I want a regular slice Lillian's is still my go to neighborhood place. For Sicilian I'll go to Pizza Classica and their grandma slice. Feel free to try Alfies your mileage may differ. read more
