Cuisine: 7 Service: 6 Decor: 7 Value: 6 Overall: 7 Not too many great pizza options in the area along Vernon Blvd. I think sLICe LIC might be one of the better choices if you are looking for a decent slice. Their plain slice has a surprisingly flavorful crust with a nice crispy finish. The sauce has some zest and a touch of sweetness. They don't skimp on the toppings either and do a good job. If you are in LIC, give this place a shot.
How haven't I reviewed Slice!? I especially when it's one of the most solid slices out there. I find myself parked on Vernon-Jackson a lot. Sometimes it's to head on the 7 into Manhattan for a meeting or event. And then there's my car, usually right around Slice. And how do I not go in and get one, especially if my meeting did not include food. This time around, I knew I was gonna be stuck in rush hour traffic. So why not get a slice to keep me company for the ride home. Shout out to the woman at the register who steered me towards the best slice, a grandpa with mini pepperonis. Jeez was it delicious. Also, don't sleep on the knots! They are some of the best out there!
Pizza. OKAY. Sauce based Slice which was ADEQUATE in taste. PORTNOY gave you the impression that SLICE is worth going out of your way for. That is not so. WALK DON'T RUN.

We looked at the paper menu and I placed one order for the group of us. The old man at the register, should probably be making food and not taking orders because he didn't understand what we were ordering and had to repeat it multiple times. Pepperoni slice 5/10 Decent slice just very greasy and barely any pepperonis Same thing cheese slice greasy at but okay 7/10 Short rib meat balls 3/10 Lacking seasoning and flavor, even extra sauce and cheese didn't help this particular item. Wish I had brought seasoning in my purse or something. French fries 10/10 Fresh hot and seasoned Honey garlic wings 0/10 Absolutely undercooked, and soggy Sadly we ordered two order of these, the little bit of sauce was good but the wings were white in color. I requested them to be fried hard upon ordering and they clearly weren't. Couldn't eat them because hotel has no oven to cook them more. Mozzarella balls 2/10 The crust is lacking flavor and they arrived cold, definitely would not order again. Tried heating them up and they were rubbery so couldn't eat them The restaurant did seem clean, the kitchen workers were nice but I did have to ask for things they forgot, and food was meh, would not return.
sLICe LIC Pizzeria * Long Island City Stopped by sLICe LIC Pizzeria (48-11 Vernon Blvd, LIC) and grabbed a regular slice -- perfect game day vibes, no flop, just a solid classic. Highly recommend if you're craving a straight-up good slice. If you want to switch it up, they've got a ton of flavors to choose from. I tried the MVP slice (Marinara, Vodka, Pesto) and it was a total winner. Flavor bomb in every bite. Through Uber Eats I placed an order. My order is usually correct and prepared well but not this time. The chicken cutlets were definitely overcooked with a burnt taste and they didn't put and cheese on the top. According to Uber Eats, no refund can be processed since it's up to the stores preference on how to prepare the food. Interesting. Guess who just lost a customer.
I walked by this spot on the way to an event and the aromas wafting from the windows were heavenly. I vowed to snag a slice to take home. Sure enough, I returned and had a good time laughing with the personable counter guy. I always go for a regular slice when visiting a pizzeria for the first time, but I already have to go back for this such ground beef and jalapeño pie. I ended up heating it on the pizza setting in my oven and it was fresh and tasty. Sauce bright and almost an orange slice wit the way the cheese merged with its layers. I could definitely see myself snagging one again.
I got the Buffalo chicken slice. It was good, but I have had better! The service was good, no complaints there. I also enjoyed sitting outside in the back area, overall a good place to get a quick bite and catch up with friends before going on the train! Thank you guys for the pizza and scenery, keep up the great work!
This is my first time trying Slice and it did not disappoint. Thankfully there were two vodka slices left since this is the one my boyfriend kept recommending. We also ordered some garlic knots to eat with our slices. The vodka slice was unreal; it has the perfect amount of sauce, white cheese and garlic. The slice was thin and crunchy and savory. The garlic knots had a bit too much oil but the marinera sauce gave it a nice touch. I will definitely be returning to try their other slices.

One of my biggest regrets of leaving Williamsburg was saying goodbye to Leo, Fini and some of the other heavy hitters. LIC is perhaps not at the cutting edge of pizza technology in the same way, but there are some solid options. Despite the kitschy name, sLICe offers some excellent slices. Our favorites were the fresh mozzarella with a bright tomato sauce and the spicy rigatoni slice, which is indeed spicy and comes adorned with a small piece of fresh mozzarella as well. If I had to skip one next time, it would be the tricolor pesto, which somehow came out a bit bland and rubbery. read more

sLICe was one of my favorite stops during a self-curated 5-borough pizza tour this weekend. We chose it due to proximity to subway and nearby brewery, but were pleased by the selection of slices available! We opted to share a plain slice (to keep it consistent between all pizza shops we tried) and also a spicy vodka rigatoni slice. The spicy vodka rigatoni slice was soooo thick and filling, vodka sauce incredible with a light kick. Would say it was my favorite slice of the day overall. Plain cheese slice solid too! Plenty of 2-4 seater tables inside and they have a back patio with a few tables too! Quiet at the time that we went, though it was a funky time of day. Slices ready quickly and nice staff! read more

This is my first time trying Slice and it did not disappoint. Thankfully there were two vodka slices left since this is the one my boyfriend kept recommending. OVERALL: great pizza, cute shop. Gets the job done I was in town for the weekend and craving pizza. Luckily I came across Slice and it did not disappoint. The pizzas were on display so I could see everything that was available and consider some I would have never otherwise tried. I got the green pizza (artichoke I think) and the buffalo chicken pizza. My only regret was not getting more. I would recommend they expand their canned soda selection. I was hoping for a Dr. Pepper but they only had coke and sprite! read more

Looking for a Grandma Slice? Stop right here, absolutely delicious. Delicious, sauce, cheese and baked to perfection, I knew I should have gotten an extra slice as soon as I took my first bite. Fair price ($4), fast service, and tasty pizza. Great place to stop in for a quick bite with seating inside and out in the back yard, how cute! Self serve water just makes life easy, thank you. Today my daughter went into sLICe LIC to order 2 slices of pizza. They informed her they only had 1 slice left (at 3:32pm). After eating half the slice, I noticed something dark baked into the crust and pizza, I removed the cheese and the dark colored mysterious ingredient, and it was a piece of wood! A PIECE OF WOOD BAKED INTO THE PIZZA!!! I called sLICe immediately and I was informed it was probably a piece from the wooden paddle they use for the pizza. God only knows what particles I ingested, I'm disgusted and sick to my stomach!!! I'm just grateful my daughter didn't eat it, because the outcome could have been way worse. I'm considering taking legal action!!! read more

Dave Portnoy gave this place an 8.1, which for those not familiar with his One Bite ratings means it of worth driving long distances to try. We were in Long Island City for a boba Yelp event but when I saw this place, I had to take a break from the boba crawl to try the pizza. I got two cheese slices because I was pretty hungry because boba is not that filling for me. As soon as I took a bite, I was overwhelmed with feelings of nostalgia of my childhood. The slices here are the slices from my days wandering the streets of Queens on my bike and just stopping at some random pizza shop like the one on Roosevelt Ave. The tangy sauce, the perfect cheese and a nice chew of a crust that is not too charred but still has a nice firmness. A lot of Queens pizza shops seem to have lost their identity in search for different reasons: going artisanal, going with cheaper ingredients, going fancy. This slice is old school, solid pizza. Will you think it is the best pizza you ever had? I cannot because I had so many of these slices growing up, but these solid pizza shops are disappearing do grab some here while you still can. read more

For a slice of pizza it was pretty cheap! I think it was maybe $5? I forgot but I was pretty impressed by how thin it was and the texture was the perfect chewy. I loved it for being in the neighborhood not having to go into the city to get me a slice. Can't complain, best you can get in the neighborhood. There was no line and you get to see all the different pizzas through the glass to choose what you want. They take your slice and warm it up in the fire again. Service on the other hand is not so great. No customer service at all. You don't go here for that, you go here to get in and out because it's in the neighborhood and they sell by the slice if needed. The lady asked me if I'm sure three times that I wanted it to go and it would be in the box. She was also kind of rude about it. When I ordered the pizza, whoever was helping me, not one word out of their mouth. Ordered it to go and walked over to the park by the water to eat it at a table. Great view. read more

The pizza was okay. Standard. Not too impressed. $3.50 for a regular slice. They said the wait is 1.5 hours for a whole pie. (This was on July 4th). Maybe it's a different wait time on a different day. The window outside the bathroom has no shades. The small soda is super small. It's smaller than a can of soda. read more

Really great pizza spot in the LIC area. There's a nice variety of pizzas to choose from, ample seating and the ambiance is cuter than your average NY pizza joint. The staff is really nice and prices were reasonable. Easy to access from the 7 train. read more
