sLICe was one of my favorite stops during a self-curated 5-borough pizza tour this weekend. We chose it due to proximity to subway and nearby brewery, but were pleased by the selection of slices available! We opted to share a plain slice (to keep it consistent between all pizza shops we tried) and also a spicy vodka rigatoni slice. The spicy vodka rigatoni slice was soooo thick and filling, vodka sauce incredible with a light kick. Would say it was my favorite slice of the day overall. Plain cheese slice solid too! How haven't I reviewed Slice!? I especially when it's one of the most solid slices out there. I find myself parked on Vernon-Jackson a lot. Sometimes it's to head on the 7 into Manhattan for a meeting or event. And then there's my car, usually right around Slice. And how do I not go in and get one, especially if my meeting did not include food. This time around, I knew I was gonna be stuck in rush hour traffic. So why not get a slice to keep me company for the ride home. Shout out to the woman at the register who steered me towards the best slice, a grandpa with mini pepperonis. Jeez was it delicious. Came here randomly whilst in town for a birthday, we initially thought we were going to take the food back to the hotel but opted to sit inside as there were booths open. We looked at the paper menu and I placed one order for the group of us. The old man at the register, should probably be making food and not taking orders because he didn't understand what we were ordering and had to repeat it multiple times. Pepperoni slice 5/10 Decent slice just very greasy and barely any pepperonis Same thing cheese slice greasy at but okay 7/10 Short rib meat balls 3/10 Lacking seasoning and flavor, even extra sauce and cheese didn't help this particular item. Wish I had brought seasoning in my purse or something. French fries 10/10 Fresh hot and seasoned Honey garlic wings 0/10 Absolutely undercooked, and soggy Sadly we ordered two order of these, the little bit of sauce was good but the wings were white in color. I requested them to be fried hard upon ordering and they clearly weren't. Couldn't eat them because hotel has no oven to cook them more. Mozzarella balls 2/10 The crust is lacking flavor and they arrived cold, definitely would not order again. Through Uber Eats I placed an order. My order is usually correct and prepared well but not this time. The chicken cutlets were definitely overcooked with a burnt taste and they didn't put and cheese on the top. We got take out from here for a get together and we and the guests loved it! We got two pizzas, Caesar salad, and garlic honey wings. The pizzas were big, crust was crunchy but not too over cooked, plenty of toppings. No complaints. Caesar salad was also big portion. The garlic honey wings were delicious. I walked by this spot on the way to an event and the aromas wafting from the windows were heavenly. I vowed to snag a slice to take home. Sure enough, I returned and had a good time laughing with the personable counter guy. I always go for a regular slice when visiting a pizzeria for the first time, but I already have to go back for this such ground beef and jalapeño pie. I ended up heating it on the pizza setting in my oven and it was fresh and tasty. Sauce bright and almost an orange slice wit the way the cheese merged with its layers. Today my daughter went into sLICe LIC to order 2 slices of pizza. They informed her they only had 1 slice left (at 3:32pm). After eating half the slice, I noticed something dark baked into the crust and pizza, I removed the cheese and the dark colored mysterious ingredient, and it was a piece of wood! A PIECE OF WOOD BAKED INTO THE PIZZA!!! I called sLICe immediately and I was informed it was probably a piece from the wooden paddle they use for the pizza. God only knows what particles I ingested, I'm disgusted and sick to my stomach!!! I'm just grateful my daughter didn't eat it, because the outcome could have been way worse. I've been living in New York City my whole life, we pride ourselves on our pizza. Getting a good slice after a long day of work or when you need something to eat is essential. I truly feel like when it comes to SLICE, they are the gold standard for Regular NYC slice. I'm not saying they are the best pizza in the world or even the best pizza in NYC. But if you want a in and out regular cheap slice. These guys are the best in that area. For example, a place to compare this to would be Joes or Rosa's. This is my first time trying Slice and it did not disappoint. Thankfully there were two vodka slices left since this is the one my boyfriend kept recommending. We also ordered some garlic knots to eat with our slices. The vodka slice was unreal; it has the perfect amount of sauce, white cheese and garlic. The slice was thin and crunchy and savory. The garlic knots had a bit too much oil but the marinera sauce gave it a nice touch. I will definitely be returning to try their other slices. read more

OVERALL: great pizza, cute shop. Gets the job done I was in town for the weekend and craving pizza. Luckily I came across Slice and it did not disappoint. The pizzas were on display so I could see everything that was available and consider some I would have never otherwise tried. I got the green pizza (artichoke I think) and the buffalo chicken pizza. A go to spot for me after moving closer to the water in LIC. I'm a big fan of their Sicilian style pizzas; the crust is consistently crunchy with the right ratio of cheese. There are times when some of the slices that have been left out for longer don't taste as fresh, but for the most part the slices all taste great after they heat it up. If you order an entire pie, they'll make it in front of you, and those ones are super fresh! I've always done take out, but the store itself does have some seats in the back. Service is pretty friendly and quick, and prices are fairly reasonable. Definitely a good place to stop by if you're in the area! read more

Looking for a Grandma Slice? Stop right here, absolutely delicious. Delicious, sauce, cheese and baked to perfection, I knew I should have gotten an extra slice as soon as I took my first bite. Dave Portnoy gave this place an 8.1, which for those not familiar with his One Bite ratings means it of worth driving long distances to try. We were in Long Island City for a boba Yelp event but when I saw this place, I had to take a break from the boba crawl to try the pizza. I got two cheese slices because I was pretty hungry because boba is not that filling for me. As soon as I took a bite, I was overwhelmed with feelings of nostalgia of my childhood. The slices here are the slices from my days wandering the streets of Queens on my bike and just stopping at some random pizza shop like the one on Roosevelt Ave. The tangy sauce, the perfect cheese and a nice chew of a crust that is not too charred but still has a nice firmness. A lot of Queens pizza shops seem to have lost their identity in search for different reasons: going artisanal, going with cheaper ingredients, going fancy. This slice is old school, solid pizza. Will you think it is the best pizza you ever had? I cannot because I had so many of these slices growing up, but these solid pizza shops are disappearing do grab some here while you still can. read more

Asked them to deliver to a location that was approximately 10 minutes away from them on the same block that the pizzeria is on just a bit further down the block and they told me they don't do deliveries to that area. I would understand if I was ordering from across Queens or from another borough but this was actually 10 minutes down the road. Pizza is mediocre nothing special. read more

I ordered a delivery that was 1 hour late, their phone numbers where out of service and couldn't be reached for updates, I had to walk all the way over there for them to not even apologize but instead demand I pay again to retrieve order. which I did only for them to tell me i needed to wait now for them to prepare the order. 2 hours plus later and not one apology from this place, my kids can have overpriced pizza. We ordered through UberEats, where sLICe uses their own delivery drivers. We ordered at 6:00 and it was supposed to arrive between 6:30-6:50. We are about a 10 minute drive from the store. It is now 7:45 and it has not been delivered. We called around 6:50 and they said it would arrive in a few minutes. We have now called back 5-6 times and have gotten no response from the store at all and no option to leave a message. I hope the store makes this right as we are regulars and this is really disappointing. The restaurant is not close to closing yet either, it closes at 12AM, so unsure why no one is answering the phone. read more

For a slice of pizza it was pretty cheap! I think it was maybe $5? I forgot but I was pretty impressed by how thin it was and the texture was the perfect chewy. I loved it for being in the neighborhood not having to go into the city to get me a slice. Can't complain, best you can get in the neighborhood. There was no line and you get to see all the different pizzas through the glass to choose what you want. They take your slice and warm it up in the fire again. Service on the other hand is not so great. No customer service at all. You don't go here for that, you go here to get in and out because it's in the neighborhood and they sell by the slice if needed. The lady asked me if I'm sure three times that I wanted it to go and it would be in the box. She was also kind of rude about it. The pizza was okay. Standard. Not too impressed. $3.50 for a regular slice. They said the wait is 1.5 hours for a whole pie. (This was on July 4th).
