Stopped in for a quick drink. Got the coconut bubble tea. Very tasty. Could def taste the coconut. Boba ratio was good. Service was fast despite the long line .
I come here for coffee and sandwiches. I've always felt it overpriced, but enjoyed it enough I suppose. While finishing my BLT I found this hair in the sandwich. Thoroughly disgusted. $16 for OJ and a BLT with a hair in it. I hate to write negative reviews, but I am grossed out and will never be back.
While most places either have really good bagels and mediocre coffee or really good coffee but mediocre bagels, this place found a good balance. Good customization with the bagels and portions as well. Only thing was they the eggs were not seasoned well and were dry/overcooked. Had the avenue coffee which was smooth, strong and just a little sweet. Reasonable prices overall and good place for your brunch/breakfast.
Love this place. Everyone is incredibly sweet. I witnessed the barista chatting patiently and respectfully with a neurodivergent patron who was struggling to communicate and allow another patron to use their bathroom even after she realized she had left her wallet and would need to come back to make a purchase. The muffins (morning glory is delicious) are great as is the popcorn. The space is bright and airy with comfortable seating. I'll definitely be back!
I got the Aloha Avenue Iced Coffee, which seems to be a seasonal coffee advertised next to the cash register. This is seriously the BEST coffee I had on my most recent trip to New York. This drink is pretty pricey, at about $6.75 for a large, but was worth every penny. This drink was filled with a creamy coconut flavor and, while it doesn't have as strong of a coffee flavor, is perfect for people who prefer coffee on the sweeter side.
My hunt for the best bagels in Sunnyside in the post-Dave's era (tho even that wasn't the best I've had in NY) continues: So most people are probably not aware, but this place went through a renovation since new ownership. That's why it was closed over the last 6 months. I've never been to the old iteration of the place, but it looks pretty nice. They have, or will have, a nice variety of breakfast, coffee, and lunch options. The new owner/manager is very nice and forthcoming in hospitality. It's pretty nice to see. I went to order my customary Saturday Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel. The cheese options are currently limited to three different kinds. Maybe one day they'll get cheddar cheese as an option. They had a hot pepper cheese, which isn't really pepper jack, but it's somewhere on a lighter scale of it. It wasn't bad overall. The bagel itself was okay, but you could easily tell that they were store bought. It's a clear distinction. I don't know why true bagel shops are afraid to open up in the area, but they really need to have a true legit bagel place. If this wants to be a place where they make bagels, that would be sick. At around $4.50, it's still a bit pricy, but something I can live it for now. The petition for a real bagel place in Sunnyside continues....

I tried caffebenne bubble tea it was extremely sweet that one sip I ended up throwing out but the AVE COFFEE thai tea bubble tea IS GOOD! What makes me SAD? Well I ordered thai bubble tea with brown sugar jelly! I hate BOBA PEARL. I didn't get brown sugar jelly which I wanted and got boba pearl instead. Pretty sad.. I have to pick out bubbles from the DRINK. Now americano when the lady at the register who greeted me and she was the one took the order. She asked me if I wanted medium or large size which I said LARGE. I did not get large. I love americano and I know what it taste like since I always get it from Starbucks BUT THIS AMERICANO I got from AVE COFFEE is NOT AMERICANO. If she didn't mess up my order with size, the taste of americano everything would have been great with 5 stars. I was hesitated getting their stamp card but it was GOOD I declined it.
A great neighborhood cafe for drinks and brunch items. Their open lox sandwhich is one of the best I've ever had. They packkk on the salmon so it's really worth the price. Spacious interior and friendly staff! (Picture shows toast half eaten but it's very generous portion irl)
Ave Coffee is a coffee house similar to a Starbucks. Oh am I going to here about that statement. Starbucks lovers are going to be very upset with me but that's only because they're snobs. So here's the deal from my perspective. All kinds of coffees and teas, hot or cold, all good as far as I can tell. Staff is really nice too. But here's the big deal, Bubble Tea. I have seen the sign for Bubble Tea for years but couldn't figure out what it was. Well it's like a smoothly with loads of tiny tapioca pellets in it. It's crazy but I love it. I was in the area for the day and had about three of them. They have all kinds of tropical flavored, you name it they have it. It's fun too, you're sucking this tropical fruit smoothie through a fat straw and this little gel tab coming flying into your mouth. You have to try it. After all of that you want to know why 4 stars? Well the store is really small so when it's crowded your squished between people waiting for their Bubble Tea. Wish I could get that where I live but just haven't seen it anywhere. Oh B T W, the have an "A" rating but you probably figured that out since I was there.
Amid all the new cafes and coffee bizes popping up around Sunnyside, none have enjoyed the the longevity that Avenue Coffee House has had for the last dozen or so years. They've somehow managed to fly below the radar, while still surviving the pandemic. (#1) Thanks to new management, the interior has been spruced up significantly with an all modern feel and a layout that's actually pandemic friendly. It's not big enough to accommodate groups, but a perfect place to enjoy a little Wi-Fi and a little drink. I wouldn't say their coffee is life-changing per se, but it more than gets the job done. Most standard coffee options are available here, from lattes to iced coffees and most are priced well. Like many popular cafes their busiest times are usually in the morning or on occasion the weekend. For the most part the service is quite good. Baristas are friendly and they do a good job at keeping the place clean. This also applies to their bathrooms. I hope they can keep it up and hopefully they won't have to fly under the radar for too long. ______________ (#1) Thank you, new management. read more
First & foremost, the owner Sera is very sweet & I genuinely wish her nothing but the best. Second, Avenue Coffee House has a wide variety of different drinks available so you will find something that you like. I opted for the coconut matcha drink (I think it's also known as the blue cloud matcha not sure). The drink was good but to be honest I don't even get a hint of coconut...however I would still try other drinks here, especially because Sera is awesome! read more

Cute spot in Sunnyside with great food and drinks! I couldn't decide on what to eat and was kindly recommended by the cashier. I got Tuna in Heaven panini and Chicken Cutlet sandwich. The food was amazing and tasty! We seated at the corner next to the window. This space has high ceilings, open space and cozy seating area. Definitely will come back again. read more

Brand new coffee house with unexpected tasteful sandwiches and drinks. I couldn't stop drinking my Oat-meal latte which is empty one in the photo. The employee strongly recommended their signature drink and it did work for me. I would love to come again and this place is one of my favorite spots in Sunnyside. A lovely place in Sunnyside. Quiet, clean, good location with peaceful view by the window, and a rich menu of beverages. I liked the sweetened ice coffee with chilled espresso foam. The chocolate muffin is good too. They also have bubble tea I will try next time. read more

This is my first time visiting Avenue Coffee House and I like the atmosphere of this place. Cozy, warm and nice music. Especially the interior with artworks and cute coffe sleeves! I ordered hot mocha and my mocha came out with beautiful chocolate flower latte art!! LOVE THIS MOCHA! Also, their loyalty card looked nice. I will collect more stamps to get free drink. The manager told me that I can get any regular size drink like espresso based, bubble tea, and signature drinks too! If you happen to be around sunnyside area and looking for cafe, definitely first choice to visit! read more
This is a pretty cool little place that offers a variety of items from bubble tea, coffee, tea, sandwiches, pastries, cookies, etc. This place offers free WIFI which is a big plus. Its sort of like another popular coffee spot which is always crowded and seating is hard to get but this is a really better alternative. I love their frozen mocha bubble tea and I can sit there and enjoy it for a while using their internet. read more

Free Wifi and bubble tea- that's basically the only reason why I came through here. However, it is a pretty sparse place and I don't especially like the fact that the bubble teas are all powder based. That being said- those powder based bobas are pretty yummy. read more

I had a cold brew coffee and a bubble tea, and it was good. Staffs were friendly and nice. I would recommend to my friends to visit this place. Also, this place was super clean, great place to spend weekend. read more

Ave Coffee House has great espresso. It's also nice to have a legitimate coffee shop in the neighborhood that has a decent amount of space for reading the paper, board games, laptops, etc.. The pastries are tasty and the staff is always friendly. ACH is a pleasant place to spend a low-key weekend morning. read more

The store is newly renovated with a new ownership. The staff is super friendly and the space is clean and nice. I tried the tuna sandwich and it was the one of the best sandwiches. Bubble tea is fresh and the boba pearl was chewy! I will definitely come back! read more
