Wow what a great place to grab some coffee! The "Coquito Latte" sign outside grabbed my attention immediately. So I stopped in to give it a try. The gentleman there was very kind and helpful. The Coquito Latte (Iced) was delicious; rich in flavor. It came in a pouch as opposed to a cup which is different. It's a Latte that I would definitely try again. The clerk was very friendly and efficient and the coffee was good, but nothing to write home about. The limited seating isn't very comfortable, which is probably by design because it's predominantly a takeout spot. The biggest complaint is the gimmicky pouches that they serve iced coffee in. They take virtue signaling to the next level at your expense and inconvenience. Apparently a recyclable plastic cup isn't in their lexicon. The pouch is awkward to hold while walking around Manhattan and it leaks. I and my colleagues are happy that we have plenty of better options for an iced latte around HSS, than 787. read more

The coffee is good, but I've had consistent issues where they charge for wrong more expensive items at the register. At this point the staff either needs to actually be trained on how to use the register or it is intentional. They also constantly try to upsell you on their $8 pastries and premium beans, which is just annoying when I'm trying to grab a morning brew. read more

Cute little hole in the wall. Barista was super friendly and had great suggestions. I got the cortado with the rum beans sooo good. A little cinnamony just like promised. Hubby got the marzipan latte. Also very good! There's was a line and it was crowded in there but it was worth the wait and he gives the same attention and kindness to each person. The menu has a nice balance of regular selections, take home (I tried the mezcal not a huge fan) and super indulgent flavors. It is a great treat - $10 for a "iv" i ed coffee bag of luscious Puerto Rican flavors. No bathroom - not super ideal for staying. Empanadas are pretty decent. The iced dirty iced chai was ABSOLUTELY INSANE! Seriously it was that good. The pour over was good, not fantastic but I wasn't upset by it. I will say this place is extremely expensive but I don't know if that necessarily strays me away from the pouch, but it does for the pour over. The line can be long as there is usually one very hard working barista working the counter, but the wait is worth it. My go-too is the drip coffee or the cold brew (occasionally I splurge and have a cafe mocha). It's rich, smooth, and perfectly roasted (no burnt or bitter taste). Simply delicious. The breakfast tacos/burritos and chicken empanadas are pretty good if you need a small bite. Stumbled upon this cute little coffee place while in the UES. They pride themselves for brewing coffee from beans grown/processed in a farm in Puerto Rican and offering alcohol-infused coffee drinks. Their rum infused espresso was very aromatic! There is a mildly sweet flavor resembling rum on the initial taste but then leaves you with a strong nutty after taste, in addition to the espresso flavors. They also have empanadas and other hip/funny merch. The store is small but cute! They have 2 anchored swing seats on the inside with some floral decorations as well as black/yellow seats outside. Who came up w/ the caprisun bags?! This was a cute little coffee stop in UES, but we gotta talk about this bizarre pouch... So I ordered a hot mocha (which was delicious), and my boyfriend got the iced oatmilk latte. We were quite baffled when we saw that his coffee was packaged into an IV solution bag lmao. Was there a seal we can insert the straw through? Nope. We had to open the pouch like a ziploc bag, slide the straw in, then close the bag around the straw.. Very inconvenient, not to mention it wastes plastic bc you can't drink this w/out a straw. read more

Best coffee I've ever had in my life. Service from the moment I walked in was warm and friendly to match the beautiful flower decorations, wooden swings, and cool merch. An iced latte with the coffee that has dark chocolate/cinnamon notes mixed with horchata syrup was truly the best coffee I've ever had and I travel all over the country for work. Salesmanship was stellar too because the cashier recommended the cookie to go with it (super allergy conscious!) and it was so soft and melt in your mouth good. She was so informative of the history of the coffee and the 2 owners of the business. Both workers made it clear that this chain was queer friendly and employed queer people intentionally and you can tell via the personable nature of the people working there and the history pictures on the wall that the business is meticulous and thoughtful. The place is similar to the many other locations, not too busy but was served with a friendly face and a cute interior and some outside seating as well. Ever just walk into a place and feel instantly at home? That was 787 for me. Working for a large healthcare system, I find myself bouncing all over the city more and more often. Being at our main east side campus the other day is the reason I happened upon 787. It was early, I needed coffee, and I happened to walk down the right block to get to the subway*. So happy I did, and they made my day so much better. First of all, as many have noted, this spot is beyond cozy. Secondly the person working was so nice, that the small talk alone cheered me up. The coffee was ground and pressed freshly, my iced Americano was absolutely perfect. I also got a small pastry which was fresh and just what I needed. I will absolutely swing by this place anytime I find myself at the east campus, and really wish they had one up at my main site. I would give 5 stars just for the warm and welcoming barista! I got a Marzipan latte and it was very good! I think they put actual marzipan in it, but it was a bit too gritty at the bottom for me (it seemed to be a homemade marzipan which is a plus for me!). Would have loved if the marzipan was more a smooth sauce, but that is just a personal preference. The shop is small, but I came on a cold and early Sunday morning so it wasn't busy. I love their company background. They manage their own coffee supply chain from growing all the way to creating the latte. There's a friendly young man behind the counter and music playing inside. You can have the usual breakfast pastry that's typically available in these coffee shops. A cup of drip coffee is pricey for me but I had to taste coffee from Puerto Rico again since it's been a while. It's my understanding this is a chain. I was experiencing it for the first time. I enjoy the outdoor seating since it's a small space inside. Give their coffee a try. It's good when you need a buzz. I'm going back for a Spinach Cheese Empanada too.
