I made a quick stop here since I was itching for a cool drink and this was such a great hidden gem. I wished I had taken more photos but the outside is very unsuspecting. Once you go through the doors, it's as if you've transported to a new world. The interior is beautiful and full of decor from Tibet I believe. I got a mango slush and it was pretty yummy. I'm definitely adding this spot to my list for when I am in Elmhurst again. They have a drink and food menu and if you are looking to try more Southeast Asian cuisine, this seems to be a great place to begin!

Aloo with Bread

This place is absolutely hidden gem! I came in on a Wednesday afternoon to get some work done. I ordered an Iced Fruit Tea ($5) and Aloo with Bread ($9). The place is pretty small, so they make your order and bring it to you. The Fruit Tea was refreshing and sweet! It's passion fruit based, so there were seeds at the bottom in addition to strawberry bits and lychee jelly, which were fun to eat. The Aloo with Bread was delicious. I loved the softness of the bread and the spiciness of the potatoes. It was a great midwork pick me up! All throughout the time I was there, it seemed the place was quite lively but never overcrowded. It was pretty easy to find a free table to sit down at, or even to switch seating areas. The outlets were hard to locate but I asked one of the workers and they were very kind in pointing me to an available one, so I moved tables without issue. The wifi was also very fast and reliable. From the outside, it's hard to tell what an amazing cafe lies on the inside but after one visit, it's probably one of my favorite cafes for studying and working from home!

The receipt from Arya Cafe in Elmhurst, NY, displays the address, date, time, and contact number. It details a purchase including beef momo (8 pieces) and two bowls of beef noodle soup, with prices and a subtotal, sales tax, and total amount. The receipt is printed on a thermal paper and is placed on a tray.

I had no idea this place was here until I passed by this inconspicuous place and saw someone go inside. There are no signs or awnings outside. There is a large sign on the doors itself, but nothing else that would give away that there's a cafe inside. Anyways, if you go around, you do see windows that you can peer inside, but that's it. I was quite confused as to what I saw when I went inside as it's set up as a cafe with people working at tables and there's a small menu. However, there's also clothes and wares that they're selling as well. Is this a store or a cafe?? Since the menu didn't have a lot of items on it, I was able to choose right away. My friend and I ordered the beef momos and the beef noodle soup. I wanted to try a piece of dessert or cake, but the meal was filling. If you want a casual place where you can work or gather to chat, this is the place for you.

Came here today for lunch with my husband and daughter this afternoon and we had the French toast and dumplings. In the excitement of ordering (because everything looked delicious), We thought we had ordered egg ramen soup, but we didn't. The manager was kind enough to let us try it, which was super sweet of her. Everything was DELICIOUS. The decor of the restaurant is also perfect. It makes you feel like you are in Tibet and even sells clothing, jewelry and rugs for those wanting to take little Tibet home with them. This place is a hidden gem and if you're ever in the area, you must try! We look forward to returning.

Stellar experience! Was walking around after a doctors appointment and wanted to do some work. I stumbled upon this place which was so unexpected but a lovely surprise nonetheless! I ordered an iced green tea with honey and wasn't expecting much but it was served in a cute glass with a cute bendy straw and was so tasty and perfectly sweetened. I also ordered the beef noodle soup which was Ok. The meat was really delicious and flavorful but I wish there was more because the broth itself wasn't very flavorful at all. I had to add a ton of the two sauces they gave, which then made it a lot tastier but also spicier so I wouldn't recommend if you don't like spicy or a bland broth. The interior is really nice with different styles of seating (couch, high top, low tops), tons of snacks, a wide array of gifts and wi-fi! Highly recommend if in the neighborhood.

Stumbled upon this place randomly. Very cute aesthetic interior. Momos were delicious and also had butter tea and coffee. Will def be back.

March 2023: Lovely Tibetan cafe in Elmhurst. Getting here was a bit of a trek as it is located on the local Queens line. However, for locals this must be a godsend as there aren't many coffeeshops/workable cafes in this nook of Queens. Upon entering, the cafe was filled with sharable table seating. A lot of groups were here on laptops and conversations. Tibetan run shop with a traditional Tibetan store in back. The ambience is homey and spacious and quite loud in my opinion. Drink and food wise, reasonably priced. I only tried their Tibetan food (mainly my reason for visiting) like their butter tea and amdo, a Tibetan bread. I really enjoyed it as the tea was hot and foamy (not as creamy as others I've had) and the bread was fluffy and good for nibbling on while working. There's not a lot of outlets so make sure to bring an extension wire for the limited outlets on the walls. Table service when dining in. The staff was accommodating and offered a bunch of butter for the amdo. Overall, a nice option in the area or if you want Tibetan food. Accepts cash, card and Applepay. Bathroom available. Wifi, laptop friendly, and outlets available. Bon appetit!

Momo!!! Yesss. Get it! - Two dumplings are placed on a white plate, one of which is cut open to reveal a filling of ground meat and green vegetables. A jar of chili sauce is positioned behind the plate, with a spoon inside. The background shows a restaurant interior with warm lighting, wooden furniture, and a cozy atmosphere, slightly out of focus.

Whatta delight, a little gem among not muchness. It's a chill vibe, local peeps, lovely decor and clothes to thumb through, teas, smoothies, coffee, and suppppper yummy momos!! I'm so glad I found this place. Great to chit chat, lean back, and just be. Amdo was super simple and delicious. The service is really attentive, and informative.

Where else but in New York can you have coffee alongside Tibetan Monks. This establishment is an Interesting corner coffee shop along Queens Boulevard that promotes Tibetan culture and makes some excellent ice coffee too. Give it a try

Much needed addition to the neighborhood as we really don't have anywhere to sit and chat, especially since the Starbucks closed. This is was better, the space is large and bright, with floor to ceiling windows at the corner of the block. Cozy couches with coffee tables are available as well as high tops. There's a wide variety of tea, coffee, and some baked goods to choose from - but I love getting the beef momos with spicy chili oil every time I come (they take about 20 minutes made to order but they're worth it!). Service is friendly and prices are reasonable. They also have a lot of Tibetan clothing, jewelry, and housewares for sale.

Such a cute spot with really cool Tibetan items to purchase. It's really big and roomy with lots of sitting areas. I only ordered milk tea (which was good and not overpowered with sugar) but will come back for their snacks and noodles next time.

my favorite local cafe and the BEST CAPPUCCINO EVER! I at least get 2 cups of cappuccinos, and the staff are so friendly they know their loyal customers. you will feel right at home!

The outside might not strike you as a cafe as they have dark tinted windows of very minimalist design and just the word 'verse' printed in white. When you walk in the cafe has some seating and most people were on laptops working. It's a very lowkey vibe with calm music playing in the background. The highlight are the seasonal drinks! I first came when they had the persimmon matcha and I was MINDBLOWN- can't wait for it to come back. This time I went and grabbed the earl grey lavender matcha and the strawberry matcha both delicious. The flavor of matcha is rich and good. Would highly encourage you to try it out. Friend said the strawberry matcha was one of the best she ever had. From what I know as well they make all their jams and purees fresh in house! The matcha is at a bit of a hefty price tag of $8 just about after tax but in my option -- worth it! Unfortunately don't have the pic of the persimmon matcha but it was the star out of all 3.

The lines are long though - I waited 20 mins. for this matcha! Drinks: I ordered the Iced matcha einspanner (with whole milk); the earthy matcha was delicately complemented by the lightly sweet, thick einspanner cream.

The ratio of matcha, strawberry, &…read moremilk was a great ratio, and it wasn't overly sweet like the other strawberry matchas I've had. The iced Americano was solid too if you need a good option for your coffee fix. I also tried the momo dumplings & they were decent overall. It was slightly on the mushy side, but still tasted great. The space itself is pretty big with plenty of seating. There aren't many outlets though, so I'd recommend charging your laptop beforehand if you're planning to get some work done. The drinks also took a little while to come out, so service tends to be on the slower side. If you have some time & in the area, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Every little thing about this place simply makes me smile. I decided to just sit for a few minutes and soak it all in before starting my work. I love the mini Tibetan merchandise corner, the lived-in feeling that the "prayer flag" wall gives, and I'll leave the rest for you to discover on your own. Shockingly I wasn't a big fan of the salted butter latte, which I thought would be right up my alley. The espresso was actually great, but it was a little TOO salty and buttery. I feel like that one is partially on me... This coffee shop has my highest recommendations! The owner and our barista were both wonderful to talk to and I look forward to seeing them again!
