I haven't had much food other than beef Momo and Gyathuk. But I can't stop ordering their Gyathuk. The noodles are so soft and the most perfect thickness. The broth is delicious as well. This is a very small and authentic family run restaurant - just the kind of place that I enjoy the most. We tried several dishes from here and they were all good in their own way: -Chicken Chilly and Pork Chilly - We tried both the chicken and pork versions of this dish. Accompanied by a bowl of rice, you get pieces of meat that have been sauteed with spices. They were not too spicy, but very juicy. We like the chicken a little more than the pork. Highly recommended. -Momos - The dumplings that Tibetan cuisine is most known for. The ones here were very fresh and very moist. They are a good safe choice. If you've had Chinese dumplings before, the taste will seem familiar. -Sha Bhakleb - These are for those who want something more unique. They are basically small beef patties. They were crispy on the outside with very juicy meat on the inside. The exterior reminded me of an empanada. -Shogo Sip Sip - This was another more unique item we chose. It is an appetizer of shredded potatoes. They seasoned it with some garlic and chili pepper. It was probably our least favorite of our selections, but still tasty. It's so quiet, customers keep to themselves and everyone is chowing down on momos. The prices are pretty inexpensive. I love the sizzling momos. Both beef and chicken were delicious. I did prefer the thenthuk soup (hand ripped noodles are a gem) over the long noodles dish (lacked a bit of flavor.) Staff was pretty friendly. You get a tiny candy when you pay the bill. I came here because I usually get tacos at the cart right outside and I see people coming in and out. What a great choice it was I completely fell in love with the food to the point where I usually eat pretty fast, but this time I took my time savoring my beef chili. This is my favorite tibetan restaurant in NYC. My favorite food here is Chilly Momos, shabhaley and shapta with tingmo. I love their blood sausages too, it's delicious when you dip it in tibetian hot sauce. I won't say they have the best momos because it has too much masala but when it's C.momo i don't mind their momos. On my way back from LGA, took the bus to the subway at Roosevelt, just a few steps away from this little place. I usually take a Lyft but I heard Spicy Tibet was worth a stop. I'm glad I came cause it was delicious! I had the spicy chicken with a side of steamed bread. Not super spicy, but spicy enough. I ate the whole thing, couldn't help it. If you are looking for rude and bad service this is the place for it. Been giving them business from the very FIRST DAY THEY OPENED. I called all the way from Brooklyn and they said they would give takeout till 9pm. I was there at 8:44pm and they rudely said they refused to take my order saying the chef who made something wasn't there. My go to whenever I am in queens and want to have Tibetan or north Nepali food For a butter tea, bread and the tofu Ngopa the bill was $9.79!! The staff is friendly and quiet. The seating is clean and accessible to the train station / subway. I've had the momo and shabalik (the dumplings and the hot pockets) and also the tofu Ngopa which were all tasty and cheap. The butter tea / salt tea is the local version of the Yak tea and you have to have a taste for it but I'm a fan Worth a try. read more

I like their sha bhakleb. Rest of food is okay at best. Customer service is bad though. Front desk girl is very rude. I misspoke on my order and after I corrected myself, she tells me "why didn't you say that first." And when I confronted her about her rudeness, she tells me "it's your fault, you ordered wrong." I couldn't believe how rude this girl was and I'm their regular customer. It's almost like she was quitting the job and was taking one last swing. Suffice to say, they don't have to deal with me anymore. They gave me someone else's number for managers' number too. I tried calling and every time it's a guy that starts yelling at you for calling. Love is a 4-letter word, and it's spelled M-O-M-O. I was introduced to Spicy Tibet by my native Nepali friend, so I'd say this place is the real deal! The restaurant itself is pretty bare bones. It looks more take-out than it does sit-down. But they have a good number of tables to accommodate parties of 1 to 6 (more if you do some table rearranging). When my party of 5 showed up, we were seated promptly and immediately waited on. We placed our momo order first, grabbed a couple of mango lassi from the refrigerator in the back, then proceeded to peruse the menu. I trusted my Nepali friend to do all the ordering, so I don't really know the names of our dishes, but everything ranged from average/good to outstanding! A couple stand-out items were the pan-fried momos (5 stars; they had a subtle curry taste in the filling) and the deep-fried momos (4.5 stars; a very, very close second, with a crispy exterior and a steamy, savory interior). We also had the chili chicken (3 stars; average, if just a little uninspired), a vegetable dish, and a noodle dish, all of which were just okay. We also got a tigmo (large steamed bun) to share, for soaking up the sauce on our plates. The prices are great to boot! this place is so good! we went out of our way to come here and it was so worth it. the food is so delicious and authentic. i can't recommend the sizzler momo enough! got it with chicken and it was so good and filling. also ordered the la phing and it was so refreshing. try eating it with the sauce from the sizzler momo 10/10. i've seen a lot of negative reviews about the service but i disagree completely. our server was so attentive without being pushy or overbearing. we stayed for over an hour and didn't feel rushed at all. our server helped us understand the menu and gave us recommendations. if you were the type of kid to eat butter out the fridge, the butter tea is perfect for you. it's warming and a good way to begin your meal. 4/5 for the tea. the mango lassi was phenomenal! cannot believe their pricing either!! everything was so cheap, especially for the quantity and quality of the food. they seem to get a lot of foot traffic too so i can definitely say that others agree with the 5 star review. i will be coming back! read more

This is simply the best tibetan place in Jackson Heights that I've tried so far. I went in with my bf late at night and although they were closing, they didn't rush us or tell us to leave. Typical set up with your Dalai Lama up top, couple of table seatings, air conditioner and visible kitchen in the back. All the staffs are Tibetan/Nepalese here and very friendly! We were handed a menu seconds within sitting down and within a couple minutes, they came back to take our orders. Within minutes, our food was ready. Our vegetables dish was delicious - perfect amount of ingredients so that it's not too salty, not too oily, not overcooked. Our chicken momos were so good my bf finished the entire order himself.. I guess I know what food to get him when he's mad at me. :) My favorite is the Droepa Khatsa but unfortunately, they had run out of this by the time we arrived. (Around 10:30pm). There's always next time. Although Friends' Corner Cafe is the same management.. it is not up to par like Spicy Tibet is. The service, wait time, and server cannot be compared. This is purely for the service that was rendered this morning, by the front desk staff at Spicy Tibet. The customer came in and placed an order to go; the front desk staff put in the order and handed him the bill. When the customer saw the bill, he realized that he had made a mistake in the amount to be ordered, so he immediately rectified it. All this happened within a matter of seconds, but this was apparently "too much" for the staff to handle. The staff proceeded to point out that it was customer's fault and took it a notch further by complaining in a language that she thought that he would not understand. To the staff's bad luck, the customer did speak the same language, so he gave her some pointer on how the staff should deal with customers regardless. The staff was very condescending!! Spicy Tibet is a no frills eats in Jackson Heights. This tiny restaurant with tables and order at the cashier. You order, get a number and wait for your food to come out of the kitchen. What they have here different from other Momo shops is the fried momo. I'm not sure how hard it is to pan fry dumplings but apparently they do it. Since the pandemic and city shut down, I haven't been able to enjoy Spicy Tibet's food in a while - but prior to quarantine every meal was an excellent one (and I had it at least once a week). Amazing momo dishes, all the soups are full of flavor, veggies and herbs, entrees are delicious and best of all the service is warm and efficient. Really hoping in-door dining will eventually come back soon, until then at least there's still takeout! read more

The momo's(dumplings) here are great! Be careful how spicy you want to dabble, because it will get hot quick. The place is fairly small, cash only, and doesn't deliver, but it's worth the trip every time. If they delivered, I'd prob be a bit fatter as a result. read more

We were a bit confused at first, not sure whether there's a menu or maybe we should go up to the cashier to place an order. After sitting down, feeling confused for a while, finally someone walked to our table to give us the menu. The menu is small & simple. We got the chili chicken, the vegetable momo, & the noodle soup with chicken that we don't quite remember the name, it might be called phing sa. The chili chicken came with choice of white rice or ting mo for sides. Everything was pretty good except for the soup. We thought it was bland. We had to add some hot sauce to give some flavor to it. The food here is cheap & they also accept credit card. Amazing! The food is spectacular! Packed with people. I had to wait when I got there. It looked busy! (So I went in the summer...could you tell?) I wish I could tell you what I was eating. My friend and I walked in and ordered pretty much half the menu. The menu is great by the way. It has photographs and names of things which helps, since I'm not that familiar with Tibetan food (even though it is tasty!) We did order different things including noodles and rice. The level of spice is real...it gets spicy. I got all the momos (beef, pork, C). It was a great experience. They have a fried momo that I didn't try, but saw some others order, looked and they seemed to enjoy it. Definitely a great place for momos.
