Went here to get laphing and I placed couple of yellow laphing and white laphing for takeout. I had heard good things about this place so I didn't go to my usual place but now i regret it . The laphing was not a fresh one . It seems like it was days old . I don't think they used the ingredients they were supposed to use . It lacked flavor , no taste of garlic or the soy. The texture of laphing was just not right.Like a mushy uncooked dough. Everything was just so terrible , we had to throw them all out . Wouldn't recommend this place for laphing .

I have never had Tibetan food before so I was very excited to try it out. We were seated promptly as we got inside and I was genuinely very surprised as the prices felt like they were too affordable for such a nice interior. - Lamb Thentuk - When I first got this dish, I expected it to be incredibly flavorful as the soup was bright red. It actually was pretty light which surprised me, but I was appreciative of how many ingredients there were. I would imagine this is a version of the American chicken noodle soup, as comfort food. I thought it was interesting that they put bell peppers in here as I didn't know those vegetables grew in Tibet. - Steamed Beef & Chive Momo - I was excited to try this dish, but it tasted like a regular dumpling minus the chives being a thicker cut. Overall, if you haven't tried Tibetan food before, would definitely recommend to go give it a try but I wouldn't expect any crazy flavor profiles that you haven't tried before.

Visited Lhasa Fast Food yesterday afternoon and ordered their beef + chive steamed momos ($8) and potato fried momos ($9). They were made fresh and came out after 10 minutes, with 9 dumplings per order. The beef + chive steamed momos tasted fresh and I liked how it wasn't too thick-skinned. If you love chives, get these momos because they were stuffed with it. The fried momos were more on the doughy side, but paired very well with the potato filling inside. I thought both the steamed and fried momos were delicious! Make sure to eat them hot, or else they'll get too chewy. Don't forget the hot sauce! (not too spicy, tastes similar to sriracha imo) Momo filling choices: beef beef & chive chicken chive potato

I can't keep myself away from spicy jelly noodles because they make such a great appetizer and have a nice mouth-feel when you bite into them! My spice tolerance is pretty good but the white laphing can get hotter than you think so beware! This was my second time trying momos and we got the steamed potato kind. They were very standard as far as momos/dumplings goes. Pair it with some black vinegar and chili oil for some extra flavor! The veggie thenthuk was perfect for a cold night. The soup was just right, not bland and not too salty either. It is packed with hand pulled noodles, mushrooms, bokchoy, and other veggies! It reminded me of a hearty chicken soup if it were made vegetarian. The restaurant is a pretty good size and I didn't feel cramped. Although there weren't many people there the service can be a bit slow, but our waiter was always friendly!

Incredible momos at a no frills place!!! Got some steamed and some fried, chicken and beef. Also got some other fried thing- forgot what it was but it was all sooooo good!! Definitely want to come back for noodles as well!!!

I love their delicious steamed beef momo's! Juicy delicious and yummy. It's great to try their lamb thenthuk (irregular fun cut noodles) in hot soup. I went with my friend recently for lunch Saturday and thought the vibe of the staff was welcoming and friendly. They checked in on us and also were available to answer questions. The food was so amazing that we ate all of it and had no leftovers. I would highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner. When it's warm, they have outdoor dining. Please check out my photos for portion size. It is tasty!

1st time here, went cuz heard good things abt the place but were we disappointed since we stepped in. 1st of all, it was hot as hell in there since the AC wasn't on. There was only 1 server who was doing everything, including taking payments. It took forever for her to come by & ask if we were ready to order since it was pretty busy. It took even longer to get our food. All I ordered was steamed beef dumplings ($8/8 pieces) which i didn't like cuz it had celery in it. I hate celery! It was totally unexpected, I've had dumplings from so many other places but never with celery in it. My friend ordered shabaleb ($9/4 pc) which was horrible as well. The dough/bread had no flavor, not even salt. Never going back.

First time trying momos! They were delicious and so cheap! We had the chicken momos on repeat and they were a hit. The service was average, every time we tried to order more it was hard to track down the servers which made it take a while. It was a very casual spot and great for a food tour of Queens!

Found on a busy commercial business street in Jackson Heights, I came upon this unassuming small restaurant. What drew me in was the photo displayed in the window of Anthony Bourdain posing with the owner. Well, if it is good enough for him, it should be worth a visit, no? I ordered the Signature Dish, beef noodle soup, with digit sized noodle, mushroom, glass rice noodle, red and green peppers. Similar to some Chinese or Vietnamese dishes, yet a little different. It was very comforting on a brisk late winter day.

We were in the Jackson Heights area and were craving momos and we happened to be in the same block as Lhasa. Always heard great things about their food, so of course we had to try out their momos. We were pressed for time so we went in just to have momos. We went in the restaurant and it was pretty empty. We were told to sit where ever we wanted. We waited for few minutes yet no one came to take our order or even talk to us. We had to ask if anyone was going to take our order. We just ordered the fried chicken momo. After we placed our order the momos came out pretty quickly. The momos tasted great. They were fresh and very flavorful. Next time I'm around JH I need to go back to this place and try out other food.

    Roaches on my momos

ROACHES IN MY FOOD! this is beyond disgusting to have ordered simple momos and for them to be infested with baby roaches, I have reported this establishment to the NYC food department. Absolutely HORRIBLE !

I've been here a few times already . Very solid beef momos. Although it can't beat my favorite hole in the wall place (whose name I won't mention here for gatekeeping purposes lol), the ambience here is much cleaner and more formal compared to my usual spot for momos. I got the beef dumplings and I was a little bit disappointed it wasn't a soupy as I'd like. But it was still very good though. I also like their chow mein. Service was OK but I felt like it could be faster. Will definitely come here when I'm in with larger groups.

I tried there vegetarian soup rumblings and I feel in love with them !! But very overly priced and I didn't have cash so they charged me 4 dollars extra which I did not appreciate!! It's a very casual place which is nice if you wanna just go in your pajamas you can, feels super homely!

    Give me mo' momos!

Yessss! Momos of every flavor, cooking style and filling…read morehere, yum! Met up with friends here for dinner on a freezing winter weekend evening. The store was on the emptier side probably given the weather outside, with only about a third of their 30 or so seats taken. Seating is first come first serve, no formal waiter service, you order at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. Staff were helpful in explaining what each item was, the protein options (a choice of chicken or beef for each), and level of spiciness (not too spicy though the accompanying sauces had a kick). We ordered-- - Kothey momo $9.99: selected the beef filling, this was a lightly pan-fried dumpling with a thin dough wrapper and savory minced beef filling. Served with a medium spicy dipping sauce. Good! - Thai soup momo $12.99: came in a curry broth with vegetables, my friend ordered the chicken momos and they came piping hot in the soup. Tasty and warm comfort food for a very cold evening. - Chili momo $11.99: deep fried and served with a tangy sweet and sour chili sauce, peppers and onions, my friend ordered the beef version. The spice level on the chili sauce was pretty mild. Yummy. - Samosa chaat momo $11.99: sprinkled with diced tomato, onion, cilantro doused with green chutney and sitting in a shallow bed of yogurt sauce, these deep fried momo were so flavorful. - Tandoori momo $11.99: I'm not sure if these were baked in a tandoori oven but they were sure seasoned with spices to taste like it , and delicious! Tender and juicy chicken filling. - Sandeko momo $11.99: another deep fried momo (this time I asked for beef) topped with a chunky sauce of soybeans, tomato and onion, filled with minced meat. This was another tasty plate! All the momos we ordered came with 8 pieces, while some of the basic flavors come with a couple more pieces. A single plate is a moderate amount of food for a meal though we ended up ordering six different types to share and try. Each stood out in a different way and I'd heartily recommend all. If there was just one critique it was since it was so cold that night (in the teens Fahrenheit) and no outside wind door that whenever a new customer or delivery pickup driver came in, a rush of freezing cold air also came in. It was quite chilly inside the restaurant for that reason and I had to eat with my jacket on. However that didn't detract from the tasty momos, and I'll certainly be back!

I've walked past this place a few times and was intrigued so I decided to give it a try…read more It has a beautiful, well decorated interior and was kept warm and cozy on a snowy day. They provide complimentary popcorn, which is well seasoned and rich with ghee. I was seated in a chair that was very low to the ground. While outfitted with comfy cushions, I was not sure what the proper was to sit on this chair was and I was too embarrassed to ask. My best guess is that it's meant to be a criss cross applesauce type situation, but I had on wet snow boots and didn't particularly want to do that. This isn't a complaint, but just something to consider for anyone with mobility concerns who might be considering visiting. There are some normal style chairs in the front of the restaurant that I'm sure I would have been switched to had I requested as such. Anyway, onto the food. I ordered the "Lahana Ko Faarzi Bhoj" which arrived on a large round platter with a variety of different dishes. I am very new to this type of food, and most of it was completely unfamiliar to me, which was very exciting. The grain at the center of this platter is "chiura," a rice product which has been pounded flat and dried. It has a light and crunchy texture, and pairs well with the thinner, wet curries it was served with as it really soaks up the liquid and expands in size. I've never had this before and it was very interesting to try. The platter comes with two bowls of warm curry, one with black eyed peas and maybe some potato and the other was darker with meat which I preferred. Both were rich and deep in flavor, but the darker one (pictured on the right) was so savory and well balanced- definitely my favorite part of the meal. They both have some heat to them, the kind that builds at the back of the palette throughout the meal, but none of this food was excessively spicy. The main plate has a ring of various cold dishes around the edge, all of which were unfamiliar to me so I can't necessarily identify them. My favorites were the pieces of well seasoned dark meat chicken and the deep fried egg in the center, but it also included some pickled elements, some ground meat and a small skewer, which I found to be quite tough. I really enjoyed trying new, interesting food in such a beautiful space. The servers were kind and there are many other items on the menu that I'm interested to try. I feel lucky to have this place nearby.

I appreciated the creativity and the cuisine-specificity of the cocktails, and the bartenders are super friendly. The food is there as a nice accompaniment to the drinks, but if you're looking for a Himalayan meal experience and no drinks, I'd probably point you elsewhere in the Jackson Heights neighborhood up Broadway.
