Friendly staff and portions are big! The interior is super cute as well I liked the Thai soup momos the best, but my friends and I also split the regular momos and the tandoori momos, and everything was delicious! Not the best momos I've ever had but still a really solid option! Mango lassi was amazing too!

It's a nice, small restaurant with really good Nepalese food. The food does take a bit for it to be ready, but the wait is worth it. Their momo (dumplings) is very filling no matter what you choose.

The momos here are amazing! You just cannot go wrong. From what I've tried so far, the fried momos, tandoori, and sizzler are delicious! The Chaat was pretty good, too. You can also buy them frozen so you can make them at home whenever you want. So dope! The restaurant is so simple yet so cute. It's cozy and the wall decor is funny and artsy. I've come twice already and will be back for more.

Steamed momo with Kathmandu sauce; chicken fried rice

I was in Jackson Heights yesterday and wanted to get some Momos and saw that Momo Crave is very popular. Went there and saw lots of different momo platters. Decided to go with the main dish of steamed chicken momos. Comes in 10 for $10.99. Also got chicken fried rice for $9.99. Had to wait a while for the food to get ready and decided to use the bathroom in the meantime. The bathroom surprisingly fit my baby stroller even though it was so narrow! I did not need to open the bathroom door or leave my baby unattended outside the bathroom! Anyways, the restaurant was not that crowded on a Saturday afternoon so there were enough seats for me to sit and wait. After some time, I decided to dine in despite the fact that my food was supposed to be takeout. The staff did not complain so I enjoyed my momos and fried rice with my daughter. The momos looked really good and big! Very different than Chinese dumplings that I always get. These momos are round! Also the stuffing tastes different and has some ingredient that stood out in my mouth! The Kathmandu sauce added some flavor although I like to enjoy the momos without any sauce so you can taste it raw without any added flavors. The sauce tasted kind of like subtle peanut sauce. However, the momos were really good! I chowed them down really fast! The fried rice was pretty good too. Lots of peas and carrots apart from the chicken. Chicken was so tender that I can slice the long pieces into bits with my spoon. That's how tender they are. You don't even need a sharp knife! Rice was basmati rice and very long grain! Thin and long rice! My favorite! Very seasoned and flavorful! Will be heading back next time to get more of their other momo flavors!

I came to Momo Crave excited to finally try jhol momos for the first time. The dish came out very picturesque: a bowl of steamed dumplings swimming in a vibrant, creamy-looking sauce. Flavor-wise, the jhol was tangy, sesame-heavy, and had a nutty richness vaguely reminiscent of Fujianese ban mian 拌面 - which, admittedly, isn't my favorite. If you're a fan of those earthy, peanut-y, slightly sharp flavors, you might really enjoy it. For me personally, it just wasn't quite my thing. That said, the momos themselves were well made - soft, juicy, and super comforting. The meal took about 15-20 minutes to arrive. The vibe of the place was casual and chill, and the staff were kind. I'm definitely not writing this place off & will be back to try their chili momos next time.

Absolutely fire Firstly, their menu options are so tempting - good luck picking out what you want. I ordered Chaat momos and my friend got Chili momos. I added one Mango lassi. The Chaat momos were really really good. Perfect blend of spice, hot and cold combination and flavor. The mango lassi was refreshing as well. My friend liked the Chili momos a lot as well. It wasn't very spicy - but still very unique and good. Absolutely recommend.

Jackson Heights is the capital of momos, the Tibetan dumplings. Momo Crave is on the fringe of it, just 2-3 blocks away, on the other side of BQE. The exterior is very unassuming, but it does have a nicely made signage. The interior is pleasant, with small tables along the perimeter, leaving the center of the space unobstructed. Good feng-shui I might say. Walls are decorated with random framed posters and art, some are rather whimsical. The bathroom sign says "Pee Pee Room". Yes, someone has a sense of humor indeed. This being a fusion restaurant, the menu is fun and interesting; but simple and not overwhelming at the same time because it specializes on momos. And all of them are very affordably priced, come with 8 pieces. You really can't go wrong with any. You order and pay at the counter first, and they bring the dishes to your table. Here were our orders (PS. the menu prices are cash prices. The prices reference below are credit card prices): Chilli Momo $12.47. The momos are in their traditional dumpling form, fried I believe, and coated with chilli sauce. Sauce wasn't very spicy, a bit tangy and felt a bit heavy. Good. Tandoori Momo $12.47. Round momos on skewers. This is a nice fun take on momos. Also good. Thai Soup Momo $11.99. Momos are shaped like the Chinese soup dumplings and served over Thai curry soup. This was my favorite. The fragrance of lemongrass accentuated the dish, and the light curry provided the abundance of moist for every bite. There is no question that we will be back to try the rest of their many other takes on momos.

I had this spot bookmarked for so long. There were so many different types of momos and all of them sounds so convincing that it was hard to pick. We settled for the fried momo and Thai soup momo. We ordered at the counter when entering and they bring it to the table. The fried momo had a nice light crispy texture. However, the momo were so salty. The sauce also didn't do very much. The Thai soup momo were delicious. I really like the lemongrass in the soup. The only downside was the momo got stuck to the paper bowl. I usually suck up the juicy goodness, but couldn't with this one, but I enjoyed the broken pieces like noodles. The shop is really bright and carefree. It is self serve and I really like that, no pressure at all. The bathroom sign and shop sign on the shop adds a nice simple and humorous touch. I will come back to try again, since it is different and who can say no to momo.

Back to say the tandoori momo is absolutely insane - don't think, just order. Beef was fantastic. Chaat momo and momo eith jhol also hold up! Got them both with chicken.

A long pending review for this place! I had visited Momo Crave while visiting New York last Christmas break. And may I say, my friends and I were obsessed with this place. So much so that sometimes, the agenda of the day was to catch a bus, and 2 subway just to eat momo here :) Starting with the place.. its decent, not too small or big (from NY standard). The ambience is tasteful (few artwork on the wall) and the place is clean. We usually found seating immediately. The staff was courteous and the service was damn fast, Between the four of us, we would devour the incoming momo plates within minutes. Absolutely loved the tandoori chicken momo!! Its too good :) The others were also ok, tried: chilli chicken, veggie momo In my 10 day NYC trip, I went to Momo Crave thrice, and would go back whenever I am visiting!

The food was delicious and came out in a timely fashion. This was my first time having Nepali dumplings and I am obsessed - especially with the chili momo! The night that we came, they were playing an amazing playlist which created a nice, calm vibe. Would definitely come again!

We got: 1) 3/5 "Sandeko Momo- $10.99 with spicy tangy sauce - tomato, onion & soybeans". The soybeans are crunchy. This is fried, so the shell is slightly crispy, but it gets soggy fast. It was good, but it def wuda been better if it was more warm. It was slightly cold. 2) 3/5 "Chaat Momo-$10.99 dipped in Yogurt - onion, tomato, tamarind, green chutney" This definitely has a desi flavor, but I found the yogurt a bit bland otherwise. My friend loved it tho. 3) 3/5 Thai soup momo isn't on the online menu, so it must be a new dish. I liked the broth, it was pretty spicy. My friend said the broth was too salty tho. The momo is decent. 4) 3/5 Mango lasso is good. It's sour, thick & filling. 1 of us didn't like it cuz it's sour, the others did.

Ask the Community - Momo Crave

    Are there vegetarian momos?

All the momos (to my surprise) can be made veg! So the entire menu is vegetarian friendly! Not all items are vegan friendly, they do use eggs in some elements. Make sure to ask accordingly if you adhere to vegan. Otherwise, vegetarian is fine!

    Do they use Halal meat?

I have verbally confirmed with the owner that all meat is Zabihah halal. While they don't post it on a sign, the verbal confirmation was reassuring! Also, they don't serve any pork or alcohol products.

I've done both to go and stay, and I love the cups they serve the drinks in. Their matcha and cold brew are my usual go-tos, but what makes this place so exceptionally special is that it's also a cultural shop, selling and showcasing Tibetan craft goods and culture to the younger generation - something you don't really see much, especially being in the largest Tibetan diaspora in the US. Plenty of good seating, and I especially appreciate the signs on some tables that enforce no laptops or other forms of media to minimize loitering, which you'll see all the time at certain tables.

The iced Americano was solid too if you need a good option for your coffee fix. I also tried the momo dumplings & they were decent overall. It was slightly on the mushy side, but still tasted great. The space itself is pretty big with plenty of seating. There aren't many outlets though, so I'd recommend charging your laptop beforehand if you're planning to get some work done. The drinks also took a little while to come out, so service tends to be on the slower side. If you have some time & in the area, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The food types are similar but offer different spice/flavor profiles. They have a large section of noodles, soup, and rice. A veggie section with various combos of cauliflower, potatoes, onion, bamboo, blackened peas, mustard greens, and spices. Some of the Indian dishes: paneer butter masala, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala. Some of the appetizers include crispy tofu, fried soybeans, a Nepali snack platter with marinated meat, goat, beef tripe, sliced beef tongue, fried jerky, duck. They also have a momo section. We had their famous chicken lollipops (essentially fried chicken) and it was crispy and spicy (in a good way). We also had sadeko (marinated or tossed) bacon, which was rich and tender. I had one of their Nepali cocktails, which was pleasantly spicy (the chatpata aam, made with tequila, spicy chatpatey syrup, and mango puree). Service was attentive. Inside is cozy, lots of dark wood and colorful flags. They also often have entertainment in the evening, so I would love to return to hear some live music while trying more Nepali cuisine.

The first time that I came here was about 3 years ago with a few friends and we liked the food - the beef tongue was different and super memorable and the jhol momos were just swimming in flavorful curry. Made me want to come back again. Fast-forward three years later, I feel like things have changed significantly. Or maybe I didn't catch them at their best, but I came with another group of friends and I just felt overall disappointed with the food, as did my friends who were excited to try Himalayan food for the first time. I had the goat dhat bhat and the small amount of meat served in aesthetically pleasing bowls to mask the portion was disappointing--and this was not a lunch special or anything. I mainly got a big bone and realistically got about 2-3 small bites of actual meat, while there was an overwhelming amount of rice and veggies. The momos also tasted like they were pre-made and heated or steamed up again because the dough was definitely a little rough. Overall, this experience was a meh for me. I think it is a social staple for many Nepalese and Tibetans in the area, and just for that.

I've walked past this place a few times and was intrigued so I decided to give it a try…read more It has a beautiful, well decorated interior and was kept warm and cozy on a snowy day. They provide complimentary popcorn, which is well seasoned and rich with ghee. I was seated in a chair that was very low to the ground. While outfitted with comfy cushions, I was not sure what the proper was to sit on this chair was and I was too embarrassed to ask. My best guess is that it's meant to be a criss cross applesauce type situation, but I had on wet snow boots and didn't particularly want to do that. This isn't a complaint, but just something to consider for anyone with mobility concerns who might be considering visiting. There are some normal style chairs in the front of the restaurant that I'm sure I would have been switched to had I requested as such. Anyway, onto the food. I ordered the "Lahana Ko Faarzi Bhoj" which arrived on a large round platter with a variety of different dishes. I am very new to this type of food, and most of it was completely unfamiliar to me, which was very exciting. The grain at the center of this platter is "chiura," a rice product which has been pounded flat and dried. It has a light and crunchy texture, and pairs well with the thinner, wet curries it was served with as it really soaks up the liquid and expands in size. I've never had this before and it was very interesting to try. The platter comes with two bowls of warm curry, one with black eyed peas and maybe some potato and the other was darker with meat which I preferred. Both were rich and deep in flavor, but the darker one (pictured on the right) was so savory and well balanced- definitely my favorite part of the meal. They both have some heat to them, the kind that builds at the back of the palette throughout the meal, but none of this food was excessively spicy. The main plate has a ring of various cold dishes around the edge, all of which were unfamiliar to me so I can't necessarily identify them. My favorites were the pieces of well seasoned dark meat chicken and the deep fried egg in the center, but it also included some pickled elements, some ground meat and a small skewer, which I found to be quite tough. I really enjoyed trying new, interesting food in such a beautiful space. The servers were kind and there are many other items on the menu that I'm interested to try. I feel lucky to have this place nearby.

The bara itself was fairly neutral in flavor, and the aloo sabzi was paired with strong fermented beans that I haven't acquired the taste for yet. We tried both the plain steamed veg momos as well as the jhol momo. The dumpling filling was very good, but I found the jhol broth a little light - the dumplings also could have been served hotter.
