Exceptional. This location has had a couple of different businesses, but Dear Han has stuck around the longest. It's a great cafe with good customer service and fantastic drinks. My wife and I will frequently stop in after dropping off the dog at he groomers a couple of blocks away. The place is comfortable and has a great selection. There's all your classic drinks and pastries (coffee, croissant, etc) and they also have some great unique drinks. Our go-to is always the honey/ginger/lemon tea. It's DELICIOUS and they put real ginger inside. Pair that with a honey rosemary biscuit and you've got a winning combination. It's great to have this cafe nearby and scratches that 'chill spot' itch you may have. Whether you just got out of church or you're waiting for the LIRR or you're walking home from the gym, this is in the perfect location for a convenient pop-in. read more

This spot is GORGEOUS! Ever since I've been in my plant mom era, I've found a new appreciation for plant and floral decor. Dear Han has floral decorations covering their counters and walls and I couldn't love it any more. A post early dinner chai tea was had here and since the storefront said coffee and treats, I needed to stop in for a post dinner treat as well. We walked in around 4:30p and there didn't seem to be a lot of treats left but we were able to snag a brownie to accompany my hot chai tea latte. The chai tea was great (I'm very picky with my chai and this was spot on). I am writing this review as I finish my brownie from yesterday and it stayed very well. A bit more cakey rather than fudgey. I like my brownies a little more fudgey but it was still well made. They did have macarons left and they are outsourced from Macaron Cafe. They looked great with some awesome flavors. The savory menu options looked really good and I would come for brunch in a heartbeat! Something to note: laptops and tablets are not allowed here from 11:30a to 4:30p. 11am I tried to purchase a almond croissant. There were two on shelf. Asian lady said cannot sell to me bc they were for someone. I asked if they were there or sitting. She said no. I said Im here then it should be removed from the display if will not sell. I asked for owner/ Mgr. She said she was. Its a shame bc I been going here for years only to go. Ate here today for lunch by myself while working as a temporary substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 361 Q. I had brought and ate the fruit waffles with a side of small hot tea and it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive, understanding and the place seems quiet. This is my second and last time there. The service was nice. In terms of food, not much of a selection. Maybe because it's a Monday during the winter. The ambiance is nice enough. BUT it feels like they're trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible. At least half the seating is uncomfortable. I know I can't sit on a stool for too long. As I mentioned earlier, it's winter and I don't think they had the heat on. If you sit by the windows you have to deal with the draft from the windows, which are huge. When I got there I took my coat off but had to put it back on after a little while because it was FREEZING. By the time I left my feet were BLOCKS OF ICE. I'm actually so sad to be writing this but this is my second altercation getting yelled at here. The first time, I just let it slide but I walked in this morning at 7 am - doors were open - and I just wanted to grab a quick coffee! A woman started yelling at me to get out & that they aren't open. I basically got pushed out & she locked the door on me?? This was such a rude altercation and not the greatest start to my morning! Came here before my flight and they packed the avocado toast super compact so it was easy to bring with me and withstood getting tossed around. Macarons were 3.25 each but decently sized and I tried the honey lavender and it was super yummy! The avocado toast is a thick bread and thick layer of avocado. Firstly, just want to say the interior is beautiful. The coffee I ordered was great too. Next time I would love to try items off their food menu (gotta have my avocado toast) but I was in a hurry so I grabbed coffee and walked out. The one downside was that we aren't allowed to sit in with our laptops around lunchtime like a traditional cafe where people do work, but still a good place to chill with your friends. I don't think that should take away from the score of the cafe too much. If I could give this a 4.5/5 I would. Would recommend to those looking for coffee outside big brands like Dunkin' and Starbucks. read more

We stopped here to take a rest from walking and grab a drip coffee. The barista was super kind and helpful the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. The bathroom was very clean and there was enough seating throughout the cafe. It would be a great place to study because the music was loud enough to cover the conversations of others, but not distracting. read more

Dear Han is a staple in Woodside! their drinks are absolutely delicious and I love their little macarons. This space is HUGE so there's always seating which I love. Don't let the fact that this is by the 7 train deter you, it really is a great spot to hang and chat with some friends. The service here is great as well! Located about 3 blocks from the LIRR and Transit it is a nice location to stop in when you're in route to other area destinations. The shop has space for dining in with high top tables, some lower tables and cushioned seating. The decor has floral touches with a combo of plants and dried flowers. The service is good. Friendly and polite. I had iced coffee and a slice of cheesecake (Juniors) to dine in with a friend. We shared the slice which came plated with a chocolate drizzle design on the bottom. The atmosphere was relaxing and didn't feel rushed. A few people were working on laptops or meeting with a small group of friends. My review is solely based on cafe au lau that I bought on the coldest day of the year. It satisfied the craving I had for a creamy coffee. Service was quick and the coffee quality matched its price. I always mention this in my reviews, but the selection if alternative milks and location underneath the station make it an ideal destination on my way into work or hopping onto the train to meet up with friends. All the other reviews show such beautiful treats and ambiance and sadly the day I went, the snow ruined nay chance of sidewalk dining. I will defin be back another day for that. read more

I was walking down Roosevelt. My seven year old son really needed to use the bathroom and I was so excited to see the cafe- I've had their coffee and food before and it was so convenient! I walked in and politely asked if my son could use the bathroom quickly and the woman said only for customers. I told her that was no problem- I would definitely order something and she said I had to complete my transaction at the register before my son could use the bathroom. I wanted to peruse the menu but instead I had to quickly put an order in for a coffee so my son could run to the bathroom. Very discourteous! After reading other reviews I see she has treated others badly as well! I was so upset to be treated this way I didn't even stay for my coffee so I can't speak to their coffee. Avocado toast was delicious. Perfectly seasoned, not too much garlic like some other places. They also have it with egg. Wish I remembered to take pictures before devouring it. There is a good amount of seating available but hopefully they can have AC in the warmer months. The lemonade was similar to a limoncello, it was delicious and was carbonated. I went to this establishment to have a meal with my family, after ordering coffee and a waffle, the cashier informed me that I can't keep the coffee I had from a previous store while I ate at the restaurant and that I would have to "drink it quickly if I wanted to sit here." Mind you our party had 3 people and we already ordered. I've visited this establishment and ate whole subway sandwiches on multiple occasions there. It was never an issue until today. But I will not be visiting this establishment again. They also try to overcharge for iced lattes, the price advertised on their TV is only for hot drinks. I was meeting up with my guy and was super early, starving so I ended up here to grab something to eat before my guy has to deal with hangry lady. I've been wanted to come here for awhile and now was the time. I love the vibes this cafe gives. The cafe is huge so if there was no pandemic, I would definitely come here to have a conversation with my guy (lol, good ones, of course) and drink coffee/have a snack. Got a toasted croissant and I didn't realize how big it was! The croissant was bigger than my hand (as it should be) and filling! No longer hangry me (my guy is lucky this time around lol). The croissant was cheap too so I gave them a good tip because I wouldn't want this place closing down before I really got to enjoy the full experience here.
