$13 for amazing made to order Malaysian fusion food and drink! So glad I found this place not too far from the subway on my way to LGA. Took me a while to find as it's a small storefront nearby much bigger places and my google maps didn't seem to work well in the area. There's a handful of counter seats. Tried the Singapore curry noodles. Food ready quickly in a few minutes. Friendly/personable staff. Noticed there's a type of coconut curry noodles...Definitely coming again for that!!

Chicken/potato/coconut curry with the roti canai ($8.) Very good.

This little hole in the wall has a mix of cuisines so maybe Asian Fusion is accurate but I would say that they are primarily Malaysian and Nepalese so I asked for that correction. They don't use MSG also if you're not a fan of it though I personally don't mind. As I was planning on eating soon, I just went with one dish though I would have definitely ordered the jhol momo or some noodles if I wanted more. I ordered a roti canai ($8) which as per usual came with a chicken and coconut curry with a piece of potato. The friendly woman asked if I wanted it spicy and I said yes. The roti canai was excellent. Very buttery and tasty and piping hot. The accompanying chicken curry was also great. Nicely spiced with some pieces of tender chicken and a very tender piece of potato. Really hard to find any complaints for the price. Would order again if I was in the area or go with one of their many noodles or momos.

Nasi Goreng

I enjoyed my lunch here. My order was the roti canai and the Nasi Goreng (fried rice with chicken). I loved the sauce with the potatoes and chicken. The chicken was like 3 or 4 pieces which were fresh and tender. I liked my fluffy crepe roti that accompanied the sauce. The roti was circular and so soft and meltable delicious. I thought the fried rice was pretty flavorful a bit salty, but I would totally get it again. I know that the gentleman who took my order stated it would be 15 minutes, so just a heads up. The menu is varied like there's noodles, salmon, asparagus, salad, momo, sendheko(snack), etc. It's small and cozy inside. No bathroom that is visible, and there's stools to sit and eat indoors, but not outdoors in case you were thinking of doing that. I definitely that I'm going to try everything!

This place is great for casual/take-out! A family-owned hole-in-the-wall restaurant nestled away on the busy streets of Jackson Heights. I had just flown into LGA and took the Q70 to the 74th St./Broadway subway station in Queens. Located just around the corner from the subway station and not even opened for a whole year, it can easily be overlooked amongst the many Nepalese/Tibetan/Indian restaurants that line these streets. But if you look closely, you'll find the restaurant that has an exterior front window with photos of its eclectic dishes in bright colors. The only words you really need to know how to pronounce though is "momo" (the "o" is pronounced with a hard "o" like in "soda"). They are tasty dumplings that are steamed and served on its own or in a spicy tangy chutney broth called Jhol Momo. The broth was comforting and flavorful and the beef momo (chicken option was available) was juicy with drips of fat leaking out. It was delicious and exactly what I needed after a long flight. I also ordered the roti canai which is Indian flatbread with chicken curry. The flatbread was crispy and warm and the chicken curry was mildly spicy- great as a dipping sauce or eaten on its own. The place is small but has just the right number of bar stools that are lined around the perimeter of the restaurant. The man who took my order was very friendly and gave me recommendations on what to order. The restaurant offers a mix of cuisines including Nepalese, Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian, Singaporean, and Indian. I ended up taking home a shrimp pad thai and chicken mee goreng chow mein which tasted great when reheated in the microwave. The prices were reasonable ranging from $7-12 per dish. It is located across the more popular Phayul (which I've also eaten at), but I much prefer coming here for casual quick lunches/takeout. I don't live in the area, but I would definitely stop by if I'm ever flying through LGA.

Malaysian Style Curry noodle (Chicken)

One of the many places that are easy to pass/miss in Jackson Heights. Lowkey, down to earth small eatery setting with some quality eats. Friendly staff and chef! They have been open for 9 months so definitely a budding business but would def return again to try more of their things!

Great steamed and soup momos! They are delicious and fresh tasting. Good quality. The owner/worker is super kind. The mee goreng was good and I preferred it over the nasi goreng.

I never been here before, but I'm always in the area. I said you know what let me try it. They have stools as seats and they made a lil table area so you can sit around the perimeter of the store. I never had Malaysian eggs before. It was good. It had a nice glaze on the eggs. The jhol Momo was good. I never had the chicken Momo, so it was a first. I prefer my brother to be a little thicker. It was good. I'll definitely be back. They are very friendly and nice as well.

Tilapia with Sauteed asparagus is outstanding.

Best momo is Jackson Heights. Very good and tasty food. Freshly cooked, reasonable price, good portion of meal, fast service, cosy place. Don't miss its momo when you are around the neighborhood.

A great place to eat! The chef is talented. He cooks with umami in his noodles, fried rice and momos. He deserves a bigger restaurant.

This was a great choice for a quick and affordable meal. I had the veggie thukpa, and it was a flavorful, spicy dish.

This is the best Thai restaurant I've had in America!…read more We went on Sunday around 230pm and waited about 20 minutes but right after us the line grew pretty long and was a 1 hour wait. The place is quite small. I've been chasing the raw shrimp ceviche flavors ever since I had it at a night market in Thailand and finally found a close 2nd here! It was a perfect balance of tangy and salty. They gave us a decent amount of shrimps. The tom yum soup had a kick (to the back of your throat) to it even though we asked for mild. It was tasty. The basil minced pork was also delicious with the Thai omelette completing it really well! My partner got the intestine herbal soup and it was pretty good! I wasn't in the mood for it. I had some bites of it and it wasn't smelly at all. Thai iced tea was also good and as expected. A bit too sweet for me, I wouldn't order it again.

A fellow foodie Sally W. suggested we try this local Thai place in Elmhurst, not knowing it is…read morerated a Michelin Bib-Gourmand. I was so excited to try! Pushing through the crowds waiting for a table at the door, we secured a spot just beyond the doorway. Inside, it was very cozy and tight as far as seating. The restaurant dining room is really meant for single diners or pairs of people, as the room is not wide. Any group 4+ will be difficult unless you have a reservation and they planned for it. The menu has a lot of seafood, pork and classic Thai curry dishes. Those all caught my eye. It was hard to decide. The waiter was super friendly and all smiles. We asked for his recommendations between the dishes we were thinking of and his choices were spot on. If you are a fan of spicy/dishes with heat, there are plenty on this menu. I wanted to order a few but I was afraid to given the spice level couldn't really be adjusted on some. Started with the curry puff appetizer. It was really tasty, potatoes and onion as well as the curry powder flavor really came through on this. Delicious. For entrees, we tried the: - clams with basil sauce - packed with a mild chili paste heat in the sauce but stir fried to perfect consistency. Of the whole plate, a few clams didn't open so I tossed those. - duck panang - nicely roasted with crispy textured skin, paired with basil in a coconut milk and curry paste. Very delicious. - stewed pork leg, could've been more tender so it was a tad on the tough side. The soy sauce soup and boiled egg was good though. Drinks were very good, Thai Iced tea was not overly sweet. We opted to pass on dessert as the table we sat at was really meant for two but it was three of us. I felt a little too crammed in. I think I would've enjoyed the meal better if I had a more relaxed/leisure dining pace but they were really busy and too tight on space. I can see why it's a hidden gem and noted as a Bib-Gourmand. Prices are very fair and the food was really good. Very authentic.

They definitely didn't tell me that lunch specials were available before I ordered my soup. Other than that, everyone is pleasant. Space: they have two sides, so plenty of space, but nights and weekends can get pretty packed, so keep that in mind. Food: I ordered Tom Yum soup and a lunch drunken noodle with a Thai iced tea. I only had the soup there and took the entire lunch special to go. Just based off of the soup, I will be going back. It was delicious and PACKED to the MAX! Writing this now, I can still imagine. Drunken Noodles were also really tasty. I like mine spicy and it could have been made spicier, but that's not even a real complaint. Also- the one next to me had this dish which reminded me of pad see ew but in a gravy. Looked delicious!! I will be back for whatever she had. Overall: the entire block is like a little Thai street. There are lots of Thai food options and I finally made it to Ayada. Super happy with my meal and excited to go back with some people and enjoy.

I've also gotten Pad Kee Mao with thai spicy and it was fantastic. Perfectly spicy!! Definitely try this place!!

I've been wanting to try a restaurant in New York that serves authentic Isan/Northern Thai food,…read moreand we found this spot in Queens. It's not in Manhattan, but I'm telling you -- it's worth the trip. It's located right next to Little Thailand and easy to find with Google Maps. One downside is that the space is very small. They only have four small tables for two and one larger table for 3-4 people, so it might be difficult for bigger groups unless you make a reservation. We arrived right after they opened, and not long after, the whole place was packed. Besides the size, the restaurant is really pretty and cozy. The menu is interesting and offers a wide variety of dishes -- fried, stir-fried, grilled, soups, and more. Here's what we ordered: Crab Fried Rice - We ordered it without much thought, just to try it, and it ended up being one of the best Thai dishes we've ever had. Even my husband (who is Laos/Thai) loved it. He rarely gets to eat crab because his mom has a severe allergy, so this was special for him too. (We forgot take picture lol) Crispy Pork Belly - Served super hot and crispy. I love that they battered it instead of just deep-frying it plain. It had great texture and was so flavorful. Tum Thai (Thum Mak Hoong) - We ordered it very spicy and asked if they could make it Laos-style. They tried, and it was pretty good. It was slightly lacking the strong fermented fish sauce (padek) punch that gives it that bold, pungent flavor. But honestly, it's still very close to Northern style -- just more approachable and less intense, so more people can enjoy it. Sticky Rice - Served the traditional way in a bamboo basket (aep khao) with a lid, which keeps it piping hot. I love when restaurants keep it authentic like that. We wanted to order more because there were so many options, but just three dishes were already enough for us -- we even had leftovers. They packed everything very securely; I carried the papaya salad around all day and it didn't spill at all. It is pretty pricey, but honestly, it's worth trying at least once for the quality and authenticity. We'll definitely bring his parents here next time we're back in NYC.

I am always a fan of these hyper specialist places because I figure if you only sell one dish it must be really good. They serve one thing, Hainanese chicken sets with liver and gizzard, ginger fried, and a side of radish soup. The rice and the tender chicken tastes super clean and even the gizzard and liver is not covered in any unnecessary sauces. That being said, they do have some sauces on the side for you to add more flavor to your food if you are looking for more flavors or spice. The radish soup tastes so nourishing and it tastes like you're eating at home and not at a restaurant. Definitely a place that you must check out if you're looking for something that is filling but still what to have a nice lightness after your meal.
