So So good- have been seeing this place everything and been dying to go. Small location upstairs but service and kindness were amazing. Really just went for the momos which were so good and flavorful. Also enjoyed some warm milk tea- was perfect little treat (pretty good size portions). Overall strongly recommend for authentic food

**CASH ONLY** Came at 6 PM on a Saturday and waited about 15 mins for a table. Beef steamed momo were perfect. The hand pull flat noodle soup with chicken was also so comforting - loved the chewy noodles and that they were cut into bite sized pieces! And the radishes. Note: Entrance is on 37th rd, up the stairs.

What started as a low key mom & pop tibetan hidden on the second floor has become more than that with its brick & mortar location. Not the fanciest of places but the food speaks for itself. The spicy beef, peanut chicken and Momo's are to die for. If you happen to stop anywhere from 11-4 you can take advantage of great happy hour deals. I'm no local to NY but this place holds a special place in my heart!. So much so that every time I touch base in NY I take the Q70 straight from the airport to get my first meal in with luggage and all. Will always recommend physiotherapy to anyone that I know is visiting the great city of New York.

My absolute favorite place to stop when coming to NY very close to the Q70 free bus ride from LaGuardia. This was my first stop and they never disappoint. The food is consistently delicious and the service is friendly. The ambiance is casual and clean. Highly recommend!!! 5 stars

Second stop on our food crawl was Phayul. We got some beef momos that were so juicy. The spicy sauces also don't kid around. One had a fermented taste and another was closer to a chili oil. Both added great flavor to the momos.

A cozy Tibetan restaurant! I was super excited to try Phayul and was not disappointed with their menu and amazing prices. To start off, I got the Butter Tea - unique blend of milk tea and a salty, buttery taste. Worth the try to get the full experience! To eat, my friends and I split Chicken Momos and the Dumpling Soup/Chicken Noodle Soup. The broth was very tasty with generous portions of noodles and dumplings. The soups paired nicely with chili oil! I will say it does feel a bit on the heavier side, so come hungry. The service was excellent - very friendly and accommodating. Loved being able to visit and support this restaurant!

Phayul was a lowkey spot that was difficult to find, although we noticed a larger, first floor version of the store across the street as we exited. The space itself is very casual, with just a few tables right up against the cooking space. We got a plate of pan fried chicken momos to share, and I'm already thinking about the next time I'll get to have them again! The momo skin was thin and light, with a satisfying crunch on the bottom from the pan fry. They were stuffed to the brim with juicy meat, and were especially tasty with the soy sauce and chili oil available at the table. We got a mango lassi as well, and it had a strong yogurt flavor to it. I hope to try some of the other dishes next time I'm there!

I come back to the original spot every trip to New York! Love their steamed momos, fried momos, tripe, sausage, beef tongue, and basically everything! It's pretty small and easy to miss. I've heard their second location is bigger, but I haven't been yet!

First time at Jackson Heights & tried this restaurant with a group of friends. The food was really delicious, some were spicy in a good way. Thoroughly enjoyed it especially the fried rice. Our group also ordered the beef tongue and said it was awesome but I didn't have any. Massive selection of drinks on the menu too - definitely won't go hungry and thirsty here.

Best momos I've had in a while Might be a little hard to locate as this location is on the 2nd FL and there's another one right across. I do hear the 2nd FL location is better so that's where we went and do mind you it is CASH ONLY so come prepared! It's tucked away and kind of like a mom and pop shop What we got: - pan fried beef momos 5/5: these are delicious and a must try here!! They're very meaty and juicy!! - Phayul spicy pork 4.5/5: these were also great but might go better with some rice instead since it's on the saltier end - beef hand pull flat noodle soup 4/5: the hand pulled noodle is like a a cut version of Chinese "Ho fun" ; not too thick and dough just the right amt. The soup base was on the blander side. The meat was also somewhat tender but also a little rough at the same time - gyathuk noodle soup 4.5/5: a little more flavorful than the hand pulled noodle in terms of soup base and they add a splash of sesame oil which gives a nice aroma

Food smacks. I visited my GF's BFF to new york and she took us to this place. Didnt think much of it as it was just any other Tibetan restaurant. However, it did meet the criteria as to why it is considered great tasting restaurant. Outside looking in, it looks like any other whole in the all restaurant. Front looks like it hastn been remodeled in years as if you were back in the 90's (think Seinfeild). Theres two sections, downstairs which includes a bar, and upstairs which has more seats and includes the kitchen. My GF BFF was hyping up the place a little bit on the way there, mentioning that you need to pay in cash, and it's considered the best place to have momo. Again, didnt think much of this until we actually had the momos, and man. They're probably the best momo i've ever had. I've had momo here around the bay like berkley and nepolese version but nothing compares to this. The momo is rich, the meat is perfectly tender, and the juice from the meat is savory. I could honestly eat this all day. The momo was probably my favorite from the gyuma and beef + bockchoy. Overall, highly recommend this place to anyone that has not been here that is also a fan of momo. I'm forsure coming back, hopefully this Nov 2025 but well see. Until then, dont sleep on this place!!!

Beef Momo is so good and service is amazing also place is so cozy. Love to go back again.

Came here to try the famed momos and butter tea as part of my food crawl. I grew up in the area but it's taken forever to get here. The momos were good - plump, filled and had a nice celery flavor in them which is unique compared to what I'm used to (Chinese dumplings). The thick skin of momos they talk about is def present. The butter tea is interesting and definitely tastes like butter with tea and on the salty side. Though there was something cozy about it given how cold it was outside. Would come back !

Is the parking easy? I know it's queens and it might not be a relevant question but I want to know how easy is to find parking on the street ? Is there a parking garage around?

Parking is difficult. If you park a few blocks down towards Northern Blvd, you might find something.

What's the deal with the new location across the street? Is that the new location or are they keeping both locations?

Both are open. The one on the first floor is a bigger space. They just expanded.

How's the wait for weekend lunch?

10 minutes at the most, if at all.

    Is the food halal?

Not Halal- if you call them they will inform you it is. However, there's no "halal" certification to back this information. So in a place that sells pork- I would not recommend halal consumers to eat here.

Yessss! Momos of every flavor, cooking style and filling…read morehere, yum! Met up with friends here for dinner on a freezing winter weekend evening. The store was on the emptier side probably given the weather outside, with only about a third of their 30 or so seats taken. Seating is first come first serve, no formal waiter service, you order at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. Staff were helpful in explaining what each item was, the protein options (a choice of chicken or beef for each), and level of spiciness (not too spicy though the accompanying sauces had a kick). We ordered-- - Kothey momo $9.99: selected the beef filling, this was a lightly pan-fried dumpling with a thin dough wrapper and savory minced beef filling. Served with a medium spicy dipping sauce. Good! - Thai soup momo $12.99: came in a curry broth with vegetables, my friend ordered the chicken momos and they came piping hot in the soup. Tasty and warm comfort food for a very cold evening. - Chili momo $11.99: deep fried and served with a tangy sweet and sour chili sauce, peppers and onions, my friend ordered the beef version. The spice level on the chili sauce was pretty mild. Yummy. - Samosa chaat momo $11.99: sprinkled with diced tomato, onion, cilantro doused with green chutney and sitting in a shallow bed of yogurt sauce, these deep fried momo were so flavorful. - Tandoori momo $11.99: I'm not sure if these were baked in a tandoori oven but they were sure seasoned with spices to taste like it , and delicious! Tender and juicy chicken filling. - Sandeko momo $11.99: another deep fried momo (this time I asked for beef) topped with a chunky sauce of soybeans, tomato and onion, filled with minced meat. This was another tasty plate! All the momos we ordered came with 8 pieces, while some of the basic flavors come with a couple more pieces. A single plate is a moderate amount of food for a meal though we ended up ordering six different types to share and try. Each stood out in a different way and I'd heartily recommend all. If there was just one critique it was since it was so cold that night (in the teens Fahrenheit) and no outside wind door that whenever a new customer or delivery pickup driver came in, a rush of freezing cold air also came in. It was quite chilly inside the restaurant for that reason and I had to eat with my jacket on. However that didn't detract from the tasty momos, and I'll certainly be back!

They provide complimentary popcorn, which is well seasoned and rich with ghee. I was seated in a chair that was very low to the ground. While outfitted with comfy cushions, I was not sure what the proper was to sit on this chair was and I was too embarrassed to ask. My best guess is that it's meant to be a criss cross applesauce type situation, but I had on wet snow boots and didn't particularly want to do that. This isn't a complaint, but just something to consider for anyone with mobility concerns who might be considering visiting. There are some normal style chairs in the front of the restaurant that I'm sure I would have been switched to had I requested as such. Anyway, onto the food. I ordered the "Lahana Ko Faarzi Bhoj" which arrived on a large round platter with a variety of different dishes. I am very new to this type of food, and most of it was completely unfamiliar to me, which was very exciting. The grain at the center of this platter is "chiura," a rice product which has been pounded flat and dried. It has a light and crunchy texture, and pairs well with the thinner, wet curries it was served with as it really soaks up the liquid and expands in size. I've never had this before and it was very interesting to try. The platter comes with two bowls of warm curry, one with black eyed peas and maybe some potato and the other was darker with meat which I preferred. Both were rich and deep in flavor, but the darker one (pictured on the right) was so savory and well balanced- definitely my favorite part of the meal. They both have some heat to them, the kind that builds at the back of the palette throughout the meal, but none of this food was excessively spicy. The main plate has a ring of various cold dishes around the edge, all of which were unfamiliar to me so I can't necessarily identify them. My favorites were the pieces of well seasoned dark meat chicken and the deep fried egg in the center, but it also included some pickled elements, some ground meat and a small skewer, which I found to be quite tough. I really enjoyed trying new, interesting food in such a beautiful space. The servers were kind and there are many other items on the menu that I'm interested to try. I feel lucky to have this place nearby.
