Brought a brunch of bao today, small cafe but packed. There are so many choices of bakery , bao, and tart.

    Chicken sandwich with egg- $2.75

Very convenient for an inexpensive quick bite before catching the train. I LOVE their Portuguese egg tarts, I find it's not too eggy and has the flakiest crust. Also will grab a chicken sandwich or a chicken and mushroom bun for a quick meal. All under $3, can't be beat.

An average Asian-style bakery in Elmhurst Queens. Better than the others in the area. Great place for quick snack. They have steamed and baked buns (baos) and drinks. They also have large quantities of refrigerated baos for taking home; ones with roast pork, beef and mushrooms, and chicken filled.

    Thai milk tea with bubbles.

Good selection of breads and cakes! Probably the least bakery I will go to. Service: she was okay. I didn't have interaction. Food: I only got the slice bread here, it was okay and the thai tea with bubbles, i throw it out because it taste synthetic. :( Price rating: 5 out of 10. Cheap but it was not good. I will not come back here cause I don't even know if it's clean.

    Lychee "smoothie"

I came in looking to get a tea drink. I asked for the lemonade but was told that they don't have it. No drinks from the right-most menu. Ok, I thought, I'll choose something else. I decided upon a green apple smoothie. Nope, they don't have that either. Haha. Finally I got the lychee smoothie. It was only $3 so it was expected that it's not going to be real fruit. It was powered. But it wasn't even a smoothie, it was a slushie! I wasn't particular with my drink but if you were expecting a smoothie you will be sorely disappointed. The drink wasn't bad though. It did taste like lychee. Service was gruffy.

A very disappointing bakery. There isn't that big of a selection of breads as you'd find in a Fay Da, Taipan or any of the Chinese bakeries you'd see in Flushing. The breads were also very yellow and looked more unnatural in color. The egg tarts were the flakey crust type but they didn't seem to be baked well and connected with its shell.

3 Large Bubble Tea with extra bubbles- $4.25 each
    Evelyn W.

This is the BEST bubble tea place I ever been to. They do charge extra for extra bubbles. One thing is that their staff is always dry and they look like they're unhappy to work there. Other than that THIS is the spot for bubble tea. It's the only thing I ever got from there though.

    a display of pastries

I only come here for a cup of coffe and tea, because that was the safest things to get. The only issue that i get here is the women who works here is very rude. When i pay for my $2.50 tea with some cash and coins, she rejected my pennies. while i gave her 10 pennies and she only accepts 5 of it. Just dont get it, isnt it pennies also a money? And how she talk to people, she talked very rudely at me. I felt like she was screaming. I mean, maybe its how she talk to people or its a habit of her. Since i didnt want to make a big issue of the matter, i just gave what she want. She need to learn some manner. Other time i saw she was arguing with other customer. And people you must be careful to come to this store, only if you want to be treated so badly from her. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is one of the tiny Chinese bakeries in Elmhurst. I come here for the Coconut Cream Bun when I am craving it. I see that they also have bubble tea, but I am not ready to pass up Quickly down the street to give it a try. All of the baked goods are about a dollar, and there selection is not very large because of the small space. They also make custom cakes.

    Ray V.

This is not one of those Chinese chain bakery so some of their baked goods doesn't look as appetizing as it should. So, they kinda taste mundane and there really isn't anything special about them. They tend to just put their buns wherever they want so the labels (both in Chinese and English) sometimes doesn't match up. Lotsa senior citizens sit down and chat here so don't expect to usually find a seat in this bakery.

I decided to try their Coconut Pandan cake which was enjoyable except for the jelly they had in the middle. The cake itself was pretty moist and the cream had a nice Pandan flavor. The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft. Not impressed with their chicken sandwiches for they were hard and there is tendon in one other chicken sandwich has area that was not edible. The quality definitely not what it use to be here. There were lots of seats and tables for patrons to sit. Notice less foot traffic at this store.

We came by the day before Mother's Day, so they had pre decorated Mother's Day cakes. You can also place an order. Service is quick and friendly. We initially planned on getting a Strawberry Shortcake, as that seemed to be the cake to get. However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

Their hot milk tea is a cozy, comforting drink that warms the soul. Fay Da's milk tea may still hold the title for my favorite, but Yi Mei's version is a very close contender. The sponge cake? A pleasant surprise. Despite some folks claiming the bread isn't fresh, I've never really had a negative experience with them. But then again, I only get the sponge cake and I can't differentiate fresh vs not fresh between them (I'll just assume that if it's NOT fresh, I would have been able to tell). For ethnic places like Yi Mei, I don't put much weight on service standards. Comparing them to American restaurants would be like comparing apples to oranges.
