For me, one of the best Colombian bakeries on Roosevelt Avenue! A must try are the Buñuelos made fresh daily and served warm and delicious.

This is one of the busy cafes in Elmhurst that has the most variety of items…read more They offer things such as cakes, Chinese breads, mochi donuts and more. I decided to try their Coconut Pandan cake which was enjoyable except for the jelly they had in the middle. The cake itself was pretty moist and the cream had a nice Pandan flavor. The Portuguese egg tart is what you would expect from one of these bakery's, very basic but it was nice and flaky. The milk tea was also okay, we asked for less sugar so it was not too sweet. We also got the sesame mochi to go and this was delicious! Definitely the best thing I bought from this bakery. The sesame paste was nice and strong but not too gritty and the mochi was super soft. I have to go back to grab another when I get the chance!

There was a tray of Tee-Doy decided not to buy any of them because they were all hard. Got 2 of the fish sandwiches and 2 of the chicken sandwiches. The prices for both sandwiches and bun have jumped up since January. I stopped here to get items for family and relatives/friends. Not impressed with their chicken sandwiches for they were hard and there is tendon in one other chicken sandwich has area that was not edible. The quality definitely not what it use to be here. There were lots of seats and tables for patrons to sit. Notice less foot traffic at this store.

Stopped by to grab a couple cakes for a party. Got parking easily a couple blocks away on one of…read morethe residential streets. We came by the day before Mother's Day, so they had pre decorated Mother's Day cakes. You can also place an order. Service is quick and friendly. We initially planned on getting a Strawberry Shortcake, as that seemed to be the cake to get. However, we opted for the Cheesecake, because we were able to add fresh strawberries (and whipped cream) on top! I'm not a fan of whipped cream, so I avoided that, but everyone seemed to enjoy. It had a good creamy texture and was not too sweet. The strawberries were indeed fresh. The pound cake was soft and airy. The vanilla flavor comes through. I will have to try the Marbled version next time! Note: Cash Only! A regular customer ordered the tiramisu cake; said it was the best cake ever, so will have to try that next time!

A friend told me about Du Bois' black forest cake many years ago and it was good. I got reminded…read moreabout this bakery recently so dropped by one day, got a pecan pastry and inquired about cakes. They have no website/price list but the gentleman there gave me his card and said he can give info upon inquiry (though seeing a list of cake flavors, fillings, prices would be easier for me when ordering). He did say 7" cakes are $21. By the following week, I needed a cake and ordered by phone a Strawberry shortcake - 8" $38, good for up to 14 people...great price. The next size at 10" is $70+. The icing was not too sweet, and the cake/decor reminded me of 90s cakes, which we didn't mind. We liked that the cake was soaked in the strawberry flavor plus the fresh strawberries in the filling (we compared to a couple of other bakery's SS cake - where the strawberry can be tasted in the filling but not really in the cake by itself. The other cakes were more fine in texture though).
