Walked to this spot early Saturday morning looking for a basic breakfast. A very helpful menu is off the corner displaying all sandwich options in an easily-readable format. Decided to keep it simple and got the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese on wheat bread ($5), as well as a Nutella Latte ($4ish). Got a stool at the window, then 15 minutes roll by and realized they had semi-forgotten my order. Not that big of a deal as everything was ready 5 minutes later. Sandwich is fairly basic but made well, wish there was more bacon. Nutella drink wasn't too sweet and easy to drink (thankfully they gave me a to-go cup). Overall this place is a solid breakfast joint for the area. Service can be a bit slow depending on the crowd, so don't come in a hurry.

Cypress Inn Cafe just opened and I'm a huge fan! Coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, free wifi, and it gets excellent winter sun at that corner spot on Stanhope/Cypress. Counter Culture coffee and a knish this morning set me right up. I have yet to explore the lunch but the avocado/tomato on toast looked great. So happy to find this gem. The owner is also really friendly, this is a great local spot to become a regular.

I just moved to Ridgewood an decided to check out some local spots. This Cafe being the first on my list to try, I wasn't disappointed in this decision. Once I walked in, the vibe of the cafe felt like a thrown together home, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, It actually works here. I love how they are into Classic Monster flicks, from posters to bobble head dolls. The music selection was also amazing and at a listen and not overly loud volume. The sweet spot. The cafe is ran by Vinny and his wife (I apologize, I've forgotten to ask your name) and are lovely people. Their children were hanging out, and Vinny's mother also had popped in! I was there all of a few minutes and I already felt like I was a part of the family. Let's talk about the food, all the sandwiches are made to order and executed amazingly. Vinnys wife is on point with how to craft the food. She takes the extra steps to make sure each part is done right. I had the Sundried tomato, mozzarella and spinach sandwich with a side of hot pickles. It was well balanced and the pesto wasn't over bearing (which happens a lot). I also has the Peanut butter, Nutella and Banana sandwich. Also was kickass. All in all. This will become a regular spot for me in the future. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu and taking advantage of the combo deal (sandwich and coffee). Maybe even try to make time to come by on movie night! Great food guys.

Lots of natural light and a relaxed but upbeat atmosphere.

Visiting from Seattle; the world capital of coffee snobbery. This place has a fantastic soy latte. The foam was a bit large-bubbled and not quite as velvety as some might prefer. However, the roast was dark and full-bodied without tasting burnt. It seems to be a small business ran by a mother and daughter. The service was quick and polite. I had a wrap version of the chicken burger. Simple yet delicious. They offered free wifi and didn't seem to be bothered that I sat for an hour and worked on my computer. The vibe was hip and low-key without being pretentious. No handlebar mustaches.

Cozy place to sit and read. Would have a picture of my coffee and food but I ate/drank it all.

The Cyprus Inn has recently re-opened under new ownership around a month ago. So, I wouldn't pay much attention to the old reviews. The menu is different and they now use OSLO coffee, from Brooklyn. It's a really chill place to grab a quick bit and the coffee is amazing. They have a variety of teas as well. If you would like to have a place to do work or study while you enjoy a good cup of coffee. This is the place.

Just finished having the best drip (and americano)

One of the many surprises that ridgewood has to offer. Vinny the barista is very friendly and courteous. I haven't tried the food here but based on other yelpers pics, looks great. Even the drip here is good. Definitely check it out if you're sick and tired of williamsburg like my gf and I are.

First time I came here was their first week of being open. It's been several years now and I'm a regular. Owners changed two times but the food is so so good. Mony is the best ever and I love coming when she's there (I like others too but she is amazing, this place would probably have to close down if she was to leave) I tell her all my secrets too. They're still cash only but the prices are very reasonable so it's not really a problem. And there is an ATM inside. I recommend the turkey pesto sandwich, everything bagel with hummus, avocado, tomatoes and fig glaze, everything bagel with ham, egg and cheese. Those are my favorites.

Cute, cozy place with plenty of seating, many food options, and great service! The employees are very friendly and attentive. This delicious turkey, avocado, pesto sandwich lasted me 2 meals :-) This would be a nice place to come work when I get a laptop, very comfortable. An asset to the neighborhood.

Actually this is one of my fav base places nearby home, walk several blocks from where I live, free wifi, not bad breakfast, sandwiches, also iced coffee, could wake me up and spend my whole day here, doing with my online shop and other stuff. I am a visitor here in NYC, I will leave here back to Beijing at this end of July, hope to explore more fun and creative places.

After ordering, you need to wait 15 minutes before your sandwich is out - at least there's a lot of searing inside so you can definitely enjoy your sandwich inside!! Got the two most popular sandwiches - dill party and chicky. - dill party (4.5/5): this sandwich was almost perfect - the only thing it was missing was the crunch factor. The bread could have been slightly more toasted (it was a bit soft and didn't have a crunch), there could have been more pickled, or the addition of chips in the sandwich, but other than that, the ingredients of the sandwich were so fresh and the turkey was perfect - not dry at all, not too much as it may seem - chicky (4.5/5): this sandwich was a bit heavier. the bread was cooked a bit better but could have been a bit more toasted, but the chicken meatball - holy moly this was perfect. it was so soft and juicy and full of flavor Overall, this sandwich spot is definitely worth the trek and visit to try it out. the only thing that would make it 5 stars is just slightly more toasted sandwiches :)

As far as the dining area- The restaurant was spacious, composed of neatly lined tables and chairs with their centerpiece luncheonette bar gracing the room. Their al fresco arrangement was remarkable- with their lighter hued blue and green colored metallic seats and tables quietly lining the corner of Menahan street. A softboi haven. I imagined this to be a type of restaurant where a newlywed Mormon couple in the Great Plains would run. A place where pleasantries and support for one's neighbor is what mattered. "Another delicious sandwich, Hezekiah. See you guys in church." but truthfully, I felt a bit sour overriding my preference for the reliable in favor for the novel. A half chicken over yellow rice with plantains might have been the better option for my pocket, palate, and my need to protein max. But woe is me. Regardless, I'll have to respectfully pass on seconds at the Salty Lunch Lady's.

Every staff member was super young--barely legal or not even. Every interaction felt like staff were practicing their lines, playing a role in a play, and us, customers, were just cast. Waiters and buss boys were speaking to us like we were dumb/deaf/on the spectrum/high/drunk. It was so disconcerting. Never had such weird experience. Made me so uncomfortable. We were the first ones in the door with 11am reservation on a Saturday. The place filled up quickly. High noise level. Not the best for large groups. The burgers sell out quickly, as only 68 are prepared daily, so we snagged those right away. So delicious. Double smashed cheeseburger--simple and satisfying. Very rich. Would return for this again. French toast was disappointing. Looked pretty but tasted of nothing. It wasn't French toast in a traditional preparation: it was bread pudding cut into a slice and drizzled with syrup and served French toast style. The texture was of a moist but bland bread pudding. Utterly disappointing. Skip. War potatoes (crispy potatoes that are served as a side, with a dollop of super spicy sauce) were very tasty. Double or triple fried to a crispy perfection. Love me some perfectly crisp potatoes. These are super caloric, so prepare for some heartburn after. Ask for war sauce on the side because it is SPICY. House made pistachio gelato was superb. So many pistachios--I'd eat this daily and would return for this!

And also, that was how she ran out of ingredients for breakfast sandwich, which now in 2023 limited the sales of breakfast sandwiches to opening time thru 2 in the afternoon. Also, until I had my promotion on my part time job which started in February 2023, I stopped going to this place due to the rising prices inflation and went someplace else where is cheaper.
