Am I about to trek here from Crown Heights just to eat here? Probably. I just came in for coffee and the balance between the espresso and the brown sugar for the brown sugar latter was complementary (the kind lady working there said this, and she was right). Cash only. They have an extensive menu with various coffees and delicious food options ranging from smoothies to parfaits to pancakes to breakfast burritos. There are a few counters to stand at, and excellent air conditioning. I look forward to coming back and trying some of their food! read more

Cash only! I got an ice black coffee and some breakfast tacos with chorizo. The tacos came out fresh and hot :) I sat in a park near by and ate my little breakfast. The tacos were really good! And came with with sauces to dip it in. Loved that the food was affordable compared to other breakfast spots in NYC. A great place for a quick grab hot breakfast and coffee! read more

Love these little hole in the wall nooks. Terrific little coffee shop with a variety of hot and cold items on the menu board. They also offer a bunch of breakfast options. Service with a smile, along with a great iced coffee for only $2! The small is $2 which is pretty much a normal size and large is $3. Can't beat that deal! read more

I really like this place. It's a neighborhood gem. Every season or holiday they make special drinks. They are friendly and fast. The food and service is always fast and good. Cash only!! While I usually don't mind cash only places, it would make me happy if I could tap and not leave my wallet or cash visible to the people around me. Also the place if tight. Maybe 4 people tops at a time. It's take out so not so much of a big deal. I think it's a great local place. read more

I usually come to this shop for their turkey bacon breakfast burrito, which is A1. But this time I got their steak torta. Mind blown. This is the best torta that I have had in Brooklyn by far. They have their own home made green hot sauce and the torta has Oaxaca cheese (my favorite kind if cheese). To add on top, the customer service here is immaculate (not like bagel place across the street) and very affordable prices. I have not had one bad experience here and I have been coming here for over a year now. And they stayed open during a snow storm!! read more

I'm sure Jessi is a delight but this coffee is not it. The baked goods were so dry I tossed it and the coffee was weak with a chemical taste. Someone please bring The Montrose stop a decent coffee shop! We desperately need one, please someone help us! You're our only hope!! read more

Hold on - I haven't reviewed Jessi's yet? It seems wrong that I'm slipping in and out of Duke-dom for this property and haven't even reviewed it, especially when I love it so much. Jessi's has an expansive menu for all hours of the day, but their real expertise, and my real passion, is breakfast. Breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, all manner of bagels, pastries, coffees, teas, smoothies, you name it, Jessi's got it for you in under five minutes. And it's right outside the L stop, so you'll hardly miss a beat on your morning commute. For some, it's the special breakfast sandwiches - avocado on whatever you want! That's all well and good, but for me, it's the breakfast burrito. Simple, wholesome ingredients, well-prepared and generously-portioned, all for a very fair price. Went in expecting to get a good quick coffee, when I walked in I saw a full menu of all different kinds of foods. I got the torta with chicken and it was so incredible! It was filled with perfectly grilled chicken, fresh lettuce,, avocado AND tomato's, and layered with delicious beans and perfectly pulley cheese. I also got an iced coffee with brown sugar and oat milk, absolutely above my expectations. It was delicious and affordable. Cash only so make sure to bring some cash. I'm hesitant to tell you how amazing this place is because I feel like it's sort of a neighborhood secret. Best breakfast burritos (tip: some are called "wraps") and awesome fresh juice. Good coffee as well. Nicest employees. You can call your order in so that its waiting for you when you arrive. Cash only. No real seating but it doesn't matter. This place is worth it. This is a small restaurant / bakery with very good and low prices compared to other businesses in the area. The food is really good, the Turkey wrap was excellent tasty and the chicken chipottle too. The fruit cups are only $2.00 which is a great deal !. They have a wide variety of freshly squeezed juices made on the juicer right there in front of you, lots of healthy choices. I got the $5.00 orange juice and it was great. The ladies are very nice and helpful. I was short .50 cents and they allowed me to bring it back later. The chicken chippotle wrap is really good and even better if you ask for cilantro and pico de gallo in it. read more

Great little spot. Fresh juices, coffee and sammies on the cheap. The only thing is on the menu it says TBLT Which doesn't mean turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato as my friend discovered. It means they use Turkey bacon. Yuck! And we have learned our lesson. Hahaha. Five stars for friendly staff so refreshing! read more

This is a great place with many good options! The menu includes sandwiches, burritos, wraps, juices, smoothies, and coffee/tea. I ordered the TBLT (BLT with turkey bacon). The sandwich was very good & also has avocado on it. I ordered an earl grey tea as well. There aren't many tea options, but they do offer green tea, lemon ginger, and black tea all in the form of tea bags. Overall, I am happy with the decision to eat here. They don't charge you an arm and a leg for a decent meal! The reason for 4 stars is the limited seating. There are only 4 seats in the shop with some counter space. Of course, there's not much room to work with. I believe the restaurant would prosper in a larger space! read more

A hole-in-the-wall type of place that can easily be walked past and ignored, but has a clear foundation of regulars in the neighborhood (my boyfriend and his housemates included). Was craving a breakfast sandwich on a Sunday morning so we called up to place an order for pick up since it's about a 5 minute walk. I got a turkey bacon breakfast burrito with avocado and hot sauce and it was SO good! It really was exactly what I was looking for that morning and I was very happy with my decision. Unfortunately, the coffee I got tasted pretty awful (caramel macchiato with almond milk) and I actually just couldn't even drink it, but I have a feeling it was because the almond milk used in it went bad or something. I will definitely return for that breakfast burrito and hopefully get a coffee that tastes a little better next time! read more

I stayed at NY Moore Hostel and it was a 5 minute walk away. Convenient and good food. Their menu is simple and straightforward. Burritos, sandwiches, coffee, etc. I got the bacon breakfast burrito. It was good and fueled me up. Best part was the convenience in Brooklyn. read more

By far the best place to get your breakfast home fries with egg and bacon and on the side a toast bread which is a good meal to start my day . For me personally I been from restaurant to restaurant searching a place that don't serve home fries with peppers which I don't like at all. most of the time when I ask if they serve home fries with peppers and they tell me yes it's already a no no no. However now that I found this place I see myself getting my breakfast here for sure. read more

cheapest iced coffee in the hood. it's also good, too! why the 5 stars? well, for a hole in the wall- this place operates like a massive machine. they never screw up orders or forget about you. my order comes out in less than 8 minutes. yes, i've counted! when i was eating like a pot-head, i would come to Jessi's every Sat morning and order a large iced coffee and a Jessi's Burrito. it is out of this world! egg, refried beans, green chile and chorizo all wrapped in a tortilla. YUM! the Breakfast burrito is almost the same thing... but still amazing. the great thing about all of their burritos and sandwiches is that you can customize them as you want! they have a juicer for all you healthy juice fanatics. this isn't a fancy spot... but i appreciate it in the hood so much! everyone who works there are so sweet and you can tell they're family! the price is pretty competitive with the other delis and bakeries around... but i like their coffee and burritos for breakfast the most! read more

I love this place. I have been here twice and each time has been great! I love their breakfast burritos! I usually get their classic breakfast burrito with bacon and then add a bunch of ketchup and hot sauce afterward. Its really cheap too, so if you want some really good quality food for a low price, come here! It's relatively small and theres not a lot of places to sit. You have to sit on the booths on the side, which in total, this cafe can seat about 4-5 people. The service is friendly and the food is made fast. Next time i'm in the area, I will definitely come here! CASH ONLY! read more

It's also a plus that it's a local owned business rather than one that was opened due to gentrification. Do not be deceived by the size of this place. It serves the best breakfast in the neighborhood and the prices are amazing. Even when the line is out the door, you get the food super fast, whether it's a coffee or a big order. I recommend the Jessi's burrito with extra salsa verde.
