I embarked on a journey to try a new coffee shop today. While this one felt more like a cafe than a coffee shop, I saw the good reviews and wanted to give it a try. I ordered a small coffee and breakfast burrito per the cashier's recommendation. He was incredibly nice, fast, and courteous the entire time. After a short wait, my burrito arrived. It was ok, I think I'm spoiled by the burritos I've had elsewhere. The coffee was great, had to let it cool off for a sec but it was served in this extra wide cup, very interesting. Solid lil spot, I wouldn't quite call it a coffee shop, more like diner/cafe vibes but hey it has good cheap coffee. Would go elsewhere for burritos. read more

Decided to order breakfast from here after seeing the high Yelp ratings. Additionally, everytime I'd see them on Uber Eats they were not accepting orders which to me was a good sign! They must've had a lot of orders coming through. I was able to catch them while they were still available one Sunday, and ordered a bacon & egg platter as well as a sausage & egg. The food was delivered fairly quick so my hungry self was happy about that. However.. the food was delivered in styrofoam containers. Styrofoam is banned in New York as it poses health risks. I didn't care too much about this but seems like a big issue. The eggs were supposed to be scrambled and some of it was giving fried. Potatoes and meat were good. Toast was hard and seemed stale. Overall, it did the job but I likely wouldn't order from here again. I appreciate the cheap price point and the no frills of the establishment though. read more

Great local spot as I step out of the L train subway. The first thing that gets you is the smell of bacon before you hit the door. The crew inside are friendly and seem to know their regulars well. I went with a simple bacon and egg and it hit the spot. If a place can nail a bacon and egg, then I'm willing to try more. Definitely worth a stop especially when the alternative is Dunkin Donuts a block away. Real good at CM or highly manufactured at DD? I'll take real food every time. read more

CM is a great diner/shop for tasty cheap eats in large portions. Whether making nit-picky or vague food orders, they seem to get it right--except the coffee is just okay (not terrible like at some fancier spots in the neighborhood). I often stop in for a toasted bagel with cream cheese and tomato to start of my morning--1.50 is the perfect price and it is always served politely, with both a smile and a generous wad of napkins in the bag. In the afternoons, I will stop in when I need a cheeseburger fix. This is a BIG burger--grilled fresh with American cheese, fries, and the fixins for under 5.00. Did I mention it is delicious? Yum. My folks are big fans of breakfast and both of their visits to me have featured daily visits for coffee and a platter of food. Mom recommends the omelets while Dad recommends everything. They aren't picky, except on price. The only reason I can't go for the fifth star--Mom witnessed the pre-prepping of chicken breasts one afternoon and was a bit unsettled. Not that it was unsanitary, just efficient. She prefers not to see what happens before the food hits the plate. Couldn't believe this little gem of a shop is sitting in front of an emergency room. From outside, it doesn't look like much. Inside could use some rejuvenation (new seat cushions to replace the cracked ones). OK, bad part done. The service in here is absolutely spectacular. The fellas were so friendly, its almost as if they share the same training as the DD down the block (same extraordinary service manner). Being treated so respectfully and nicely gives me a glimpse of how hot girls get treated every moment. (I'm not hot or a girl.)
