I was visiting New York so I had to stop by a bagel spot, I decided to try Liberty Bagels and I really enjoyed the bagels I had! The bagels were made fresh so they were soft and fluffy. I tried an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was loaded! The cream cheese was so well flavored, airy and light, it had to be one of the best cream cheese I had. The Steakwich was equally as great, it was made with brisket, grilled onions, melted mozzarella and garlic mayo. It was delicious!

I don't know if the crew is different but the whole atmosphere has completely changed. The bagels have become stale the past couple of times I've come & the people behind the counter are so rude. The last time I came it was 30 min before closing and they stated "they ran out of bagels" but I saw that there were bagels... I guess they were just too lazy to make a BEC. Don't even try to ask for egg whites because depending on who's working, they give you different responses.. I've been told " We don't do that" like how?? If I just got it the week prior? I also get charged differently each time so I'm not sure if they overcharge or what .. lol I don't recommend this place anymore by any means..

Love this place. Give me liberty or give me debt. The bagels are awesome. Certified old people soft and always fresh. Always have these bagels come out hot. Just what you knead for a great breakfast. I would have posted a bagel photo but I ate it already. Sorry not sari.

Imho, not necessarily one of the best bagels like many people believe, but also a solid option if you having a craving. Their regular bagels have a nice chew, while I also really enjoy the flagels. The jalapeño bagel is a new discovery and I am quite fond of its fluffy texture and slightly spicy aftertaste. If the lines are not long, then get yourself a nice lox sandwich with scallion cream cheese.

Upon entering liberty bagels, they had a amazing Halloween vibe. The music was upbeat and staff lively. The service was great and the bagels were even better. Scallion cream cheese egg everything bagel.

Lots of bagels and cream cheese selections. Nice service too. Just show your driver license or government ID to get a free rainbow bagel with birthday cake cream cheese. Bagel was delicious! Got a free bagel on my birthday !

Ordered: Rainbow bagel with Birthday Cake cream cheese (free on birthday): scooped out & toasted Aya's take: What's better than a NYC bagel? A free NYC bagel on your birthday! I stopped by Liberty Bagel to redeem my free bagel which is only valid on the day of your birthday. They do check your ID so make sure you have it with you when you go. The bagel itself is fresh and crisp while the cream cheese was sweet and dense. I definitely recommend scooping it out like I did to make more room for the cream cheese. Great try and shout out to Liberty Bagels for this birthday freebie!

Delicious. Fresh. Huge selection of cream cheese and sandwiches. Birthday cake and Oreo are to die for. I was in NYC for a week and I went here twice. I'll be dreaming of these bagels from Texas.

Great bagels! They are big and fluffy and delicious. They also just had such a wide variety of goodies. I had some rainbow cookies too that were fantastic. It's been a bit but it was great. They also had a big selection of cream cheese. I had plain but it was great. They even had a vegan cream cheese, but it was okay... maybe what you would expect from a vegan cheese. But the rest good - I would definitely come back for more bagels. Lots of help too - fast service, and some seats to eat your food.

Not worth the hype. Waited 30+ mins for bagels which I'm okay with but unfortunately was very disappointed by the montauk sandwich. Bread is good but barely any whitefish salad . Very underwhelming for a $25 sandwich

We were walking in Manhattan and saw a random rainbow bagel on the floor, and after some research, we found Liberty Bagels! My kids were so excited to try this place. Picked up a Liberty & Rainbow with strawberry cream cheese. A "Classic Nova" with onion bagel, an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. A hazelnut iced coffee (which was surprisingly tasty) All that was great! For TRAVELERS: I wasn't a fan of the location. I think I was a bit ignorant of where I was going. We stopped on our way to Boston, so just beware. I took a star from the rating because I didn't care for the attitudes from the girls there. My husband ordered a piece of strawberry cream cheesecake, and it was moldy (lovely!). The girl "cut a fresh" cake and gave us a slice.

The bagels and pastries were very fresh. The bagels also did not taste like pure dough, which is always good. The almond croissant was also tasty. The location has a good amount of tables. They have good variety of things, a lot of choices for cream cheese, and a lot of things to choose from in the displays. The only negative I would say is the workers at the register did not seem eager to ask you if they can take your order. One guy seemed disturbed that I asked him to take my order. However, once he did, he was helpful and friendly.

Service is good and fast bagels are 100%. There isn't seating if you're looking for a sit down place but I highly recommend

The sandwich itself is good just wish it was a bit bigger for the price you pay. But I have to say each time I had it the sandwich was good. Whether you're in the neighborhood or just East, you're likely going to pass it on the way to the train. With solid outdoor picnic-style tables, it's a fantastic alternative to Espresso 77. Inside there's some more great seating with a high counter, plenty of more large tables and some smaller ones. Queing up to order is fairly straightforward and the large hanging menu makes it easy to figure out what you might like. IMHO, sandwiches are the go-to. You get exactly what you expect and the price point is reasonable. What I would absolutely avoid is breakfast sandwiches. Prices on those is far less reasonable. Overall, you get exactly what you expect here and it's nice to have it as a neighborhood option.

They've done such an outstanding job across the board (customer service, price, food, etc.) that I am constantly thinking about going back. Located on the constantly busy (#2) 30th Ave, one wouldn't notice this place as being any different from any other bagel shop. There's hardly any seating but a steady stream of customers all throughout the day. The NSFW signage (#3) keeps the place fresh and interesting, if not extremely memorable. The first thing that is offered (and often complimentary) is their fried rice balls, dubbed "Ben's Balls" that are mixed with seasoned rice, kimchi, topped with a gochujang mayo that would wake up any sleepyhead. Each bite had a nice crunch, but the lingering effect of the kimchi makes it addicting. It is the ultimate complementary snack, a desired, potluck item, and frankly genius. This is not something I would ever consider getting out a bagel shop, but having had them I would gladly buy them by the dozens. Most folks are here for the Seoul Meets Bagel (SMB) and rightfully so: it's layered with chopped bulgogi meat, cheese, egg, kimchi, topped with gochujang mayo and is packed with flavor. While the dank ass pork sandwich is a crude name, but it's not hard to see why it's one of their best sellers. Their regular bagels are also excellent. Folks who are expecting a large variety of cream cheese may find it disappointing that there's only a handful in the display, but they do have lox, bacon scallion, tofu cream cheese, and some flavored cream cheese. For what it's worth, my toasted everything bagel with lox was fabulous. It was pillowy soft, nicely toasted, and extremely filling. Offering Korean savory bagels wouldn't be complete without actual Korean fare, which is also a part of their larger than expected menu. It includes items such as Korean fried chicken, kimbap, pajeon (various), bibimbap, kalbi, ramyum, and mandoo. This is in addition to the burgers, breakfast platters and sandwiches, and a number of pastries. The staff is mostly Spanish and English speaking, in addition to the owner Ben who brings Korean to the table. Prices are very reasonable for Astoria and I'm hoping they continue to stay that way. This spot is the ultimate neighborhood spot and I'm insanely jealous of all the residents in the area that get to enjoy this on the regular. ___________ (#1) Why mess with something that doesn't need changing? Oh, because palate + innovation. (#2) And incredibly gentrified. (#3) One sign reads: "My happy place is when I tell people to .... FU, KMA, MF, STFU, SOB, SMD." Oh how New York.

We came in and he knew we were first time customers from just us looking at the menu. We ordered the bulgogi and chicken bagel sandwiches, along with a side of onion rings, but afterwards he whipped out 2 free Ben's balls for us to try. They were really tasty and a nice snack if I didn't want a sandwich. While we waited, he talked to us more, especially since we weren't from Astoria but happened to be around there so we wanted to try it out. While we were waiting he also whipped out some nutella banana pudding and he told us to just help ourselves. It was super tasty and it was also funny because the sugar made me really happy since I was hungry already. He told me I looked really happy as I was eating it LOL, which I definitely was. After getting the sandwiches, the guy who was at the register also gave us 2 sour patch kids out of nowhere. The vibes here are fun and you definitely see Ben having fun while shouting orders to the back and engaging with customers. As for the food itself, the sandwiches were PACKED. It was hard to get my mouth around either one of them. I split them with my boyfriend so we could try both. The bulgogi one was really good but i felt like it could have used some kimchi to cut some of the richness and add a little more dimension to it. I actually enjoyed the chicken one a bit more because it felt like Korean fried chicken put into a bagel. It was soy garlic too which I love with korean fried chicken. I have also been meaning to go back because I have been craving that after having it. The sandwiches were so filling that even though we split both of them, I wasnt able to finish it and saved it for later. The onion rings weren't my favorite because they were kinda ones you find in the frozen section of the grocery store, but then again you wouldnt come here for those anyways. Aside from their specialty sandwiches, they also make regular bagel sandwiches and their prices are really great for what you find in NYC these days. I would definitely come back and recommend people to try their specialty bagel sandwiches.
