Knickerbocker Bagel for the win! I spent 3 days in Brooklyn and ate here 3 times-- yes it's that good. The menu is massive. They have a large selection of bagels and cream cheese options. The fresh squeezed orange juice is worth every things penny. I love their onion bagel. I also had their rice pudding-- AMAZING! They seem to always have a line, but it moved quickly. If you use the kiosk to order you can collect points for $$ off. I really wish I would have been able to stop by for lunch, that menu looked delish! Seating: There's about 10 -15 tables inside. It's a tight fit, but everyone makes it work. I will say most people eat quickly and get on their way so tables open up pretty frequently. read more

Man oh man....this place was worth the 20 minute walk from our hotel! The service was good the food was amazing! I got the smoked salmon on a everything bagel and my friend ordered a turkey avocado club on a garlic bagel. Man do you see all that MEAT...they don't skimp on the meat. Pretty decent spot nearby the gym I went to today. I was curious of this place so I decided to go in for lunch. The place itself is pretty huge. Lots of seating area and a variety of food to order from Bagels, sandwiches, heroes and even breakfast along with desserts already prepped and made. Service was a bit on the slow side but it was lunch rush and it was fairly busy so I won't knock them too much on that. I got an American Grinder Hero (Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham with American Cheese, Swiss, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Honey Mustard) yeah pretty loaded there, along with BBQ Chips, Sprite and Chocolate Pudding. I did enjoy my meal as a whole but I got to bring address something and thankfully I noticed before I went through with my order. No knock on Knickerbocker Bagel but inventory leaves something to be desired. Half of the chips you have were past their expiration dates and the first soda I picked was a few weeks old itself. My friend was on a mission to find the best Brooklyn bagels. Knickerbocker definitely nailed the chewy, dense bagel. That said, the toasted bagels came out cold. A little confusing. I ordered the Loxury Double Sandwich, but my sandwich didn't really look like it got the "double lox" memo. It was a decent bagel sandwich. One thing I loved was the giant refrigerator of drinks. I would say it was a 3.5/5 for me more than a 4, but I did round up because 3 is too low. I ordered an everything bagel, toasted with lox cream cheese. Although I appreciate the amount of cream cheese they gave me, for me personally, it was too much. I went a second time and ordered light cream cheese, and still got way too much. The taste of the everything bagel was slightly salty but not too bothersome. The texture of the bagel was incredible, perfectly fluffy! I want to give a special mention to the system they have in place. Other bagel shops in NY can be quite overwhelming when going up to order, but I greatly appreciate all the signs they have. I did have a short wait on Sunday afternoon but Monday afternoon there was no wait at all. Staff was friendly and place has seating. I've been wanting to try Knickerbocker for a while as I've heard so many amazing things! Ordered the loxury plain and the American grinder. The bagels here are good, your typical dense yeasty bagels. I always forget to ask for my bagels toasted so this review is based on a non-toasted bagel. Loxury plain - SO good, but wish there was more lox. Even though when I ate it the ratio of filling was satisfactory, a bit more lox would have been nice. I felt like sometimes I would just get mouthfuls of tomato, onion, and CC. American grinder - this was ok. The meat was not super seasoned so I feel like it was missing a bit of flavor which is disappointing because they PACK on the meat. Also wish they would put more dressing to make it less dry. Overall, would come back if I was in the area but wouldn't travel far for it. read more

The bagels are amazing and have been for many years (since the opened) but they used to take one order at a time and that was great for me bc I order simple and not toasted. But recently they take 6 or 7 orders at once (and there are only like two people doing it) The rest are doing online orders. But here's why it sucks: if I want something simple like a bagel with cream I have to wait to a long time for something that takes 1 min to prepare bc that one person is going to making smoothies and putting together complex order for every tom, dick and harry behind me in line before I can have my simple 1 minute order. So even though I ordered first and simple I still have to watch my bagel sit at the counter and I can't get it for 30 min later. A decent spot for bagels with a fair amount of seating inside. The lox bagel is the most advertised, but for the most basic version would cost about $16. Therefore, I got a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and grape jelly. It was about as good as this combination could go. I've never been a bagel lover but recently have been finding myself fiending ~once a week. Crazy what this city will do to you amirite. Went for the first time to Knickerbocker Bagel a few weeks back and already have been back hehe. Same order both times-- sesame bagel toasted with garlic and herb cream cheese. You order at the counter to the left and once they call your number you pay at the register. Note that if you want a coffee you need to order it at the time you order your food so it can be printed on the ticket! The bagels here actually aren't too heavy (which is one of the reasons I strayed from bagels before), they are chewy, filling, and that garlic and herb cream cheese is SO good if you like aromatics. I'm genuinely looking forward to trying the sandwiches once I tire of my current order but that probably won't be for the foreseeable future :) read more

Knickerbocker Bagel keeps the fresh bagels flowing all day long, and offers the best selection of schmears in town. Prices are low, and quality is high. I opted for an everything bagel with egg and vegetarian sausage, NYC deli style with American cheese, salt/pepper, and ketchup. Though I did not love the particular sausage they use, the sandwich was better than the sum of its parts. The blueberry bagel was not overly sweet, pairing perfectly with the blueberry cream cheese, which was packed with real blueberries and tasted of blueberry jam. They do not skimp on the schmear; it's more than you need, but certainly not more than you want. 10/10. read more

I'd been craving a lox bagel recently, went to my local bagel spot, and had a not-so-great experience. I decided to try again with Knickerbocker Bagel and my craving was satisfied. I ordered an egg everything bagel with lox, cucumber dill tofu cream cheese, capers, onion, tomato. I also got a fruit bowl and chocolate rugelach. The bagel was good, I do wish there was more salmon and that it had a smokier taste, but overall it was good. I loved that the tofu cream cheese had fresh cucumber chunks. And they didn't skimp on the capers. The rugelach was disappointing. You get one for almost $4. Fruit bowl was good, fresh, but again pricey. I think it was around $5. I love the food but the wait is always really long. Today I came for the third time and was one of three people here, and ended up waiting 40 minutes for my order (this happened both other times, although it was slightly busier those times and those waits were closer to 20-25mins). I spent the day in Bushwick and was excited to see steamed pastrami on the menu, something rarely found in regular delis and bagel shops. I ordered a sandwich to go, and found that pastrami was probably of very good quality, but hard to tell just how good because of the way it was carved. Instead of slices against the grain yielding melt-in-your-mouth bites, there were chunks cut along the grain, yielding chewy, stringy bites. What a shame and a, and a waste of a good piece of meat. Yes its kinda out of the way depending on where you live but the bagels here are definitely worth the trip.
