Cream cheese and lox on untoasted sesame bagel
Thang T.

Small bagel shop in Williamsburg. Went out of the way to come to Brooklyn for bagels but was slightly disappointed. Bakery itself is nice and the service is very friendly and fast, but the actual bagels themselves were extremely dense. Toasted or untoasted, it didn't make a difference as it was hard to chew and impossible to finish.

This place was relatively close to my hotel so I gave it a shot for breakfast. They had a good variety of options. However the bagel was just averaged to me. I did not feel like walking all the way towards the bridge to get higher rated bagels. Plus it was like an extra $3-$4 for a small amount of cream cheese.

Sesame Bagel With The Vegan Tofu Vegetable Cream Cheese

Bagelsmith is yet another place for bagels. It does them Williamsburg style. That means they're average tasting and cost as if they're excellent tasting. A good thing is having the vegan choices. You can get the fake cream cheese with yours. By the name alone you know they have bagels. It by far is the best thing to get here. They also have a few other deli staples. It gets super busy at breakfast. The array of toppings means you can get something for later too. I like getting the vegan cream cheese, so I like getting here early in the morning. It's $1 for a bagel, and about $3 more to get a spread. The vegan cream cheese is a lot like Tofutti. It may be the same thing, but it tastes a little fresher. That leads me to believe they make this in house, but they may actually not. Get it on a toasted bagel. It helps melt the cheese. The cream cheese is the one part I like, while the bagels usually are forgettable. It should be easy to ignore this with so many places to get bagels. Most places have cheaper and fresher bagels than here. The vegan cream cheese is also becoming more common so not as many reasons for going here.

Still worth the subway ride from Manhattan to get Sunday morning bagels here. Soft and chewy with a nice crisp outside on their everything bagels today. With the L train stop being right in front of it the convenience is terrific, especially on a 15 degree chilly day.

Best bagels in Williamsburg. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not soggy. Everything & Blueberry are our favorites. Enjoy!

I noticed a vegan establishment using your bagels for their sandwiches. Are all the ingredients in your bagels considered vegan? For example type of sugars, honey, enzymes or refined wheat?

Unless you consider yeast non-vegan, or get an egg bagel, yes!

Does this place make without gluten bagel?

Yes we do !

There's the main seating area and then two offshoot lounges, which aren't quite as cozy but offer different levels of quiet and ambience. I love all the random décor, antique signs, old arcade games as tables, a million lamps. It's like what nook is going for but you can actually sit down on a comfy couch most of the time. The guy working the counter has a lot of energy and clearly loves being there. The PB banana smoothie was yummy, very thick so could use a spoon. Mushroom toast was a bit pricey but you did get a lot of food for your money, the focaccia was crunchier than expected but all around a nice cafe bite. I just appreciate how this is such a gathering spot where you can watch bk life play out while working, it had a different energy from a lot of places in the area.

Shucks I wanted to give this place five stars but it didn't start so well. The first barista who…read moretook my order was really great. I first ordered a chai latte and he said I could do two different syrups so I got the pumpkin and salted maple, though I was worried about it being too sugary so he suggested I could just do half a pump of each. He asked me what the name of the order would be and I said "Aida" (the phonetic spelling is ah-EE-dah). And then I heard the other barista say something along the lines of, "oh Aida, how about 'Aida' rather not be here", pretty rude if you ask me. And then I ordered the spicy nook sandwich. And when another server called my named to grab it she didn't even knowledge me when I tried to thank her and instead she talked to her coworker while I was right in front of her. The sandwich was really good, so was my chai tea. I really like the pumpkin and salt and maple syrups too. I did like all the options for seating although it was pretty packed. I'd say if you have a big party get there early. By 7pm the whole place was filled. There was a huge majong club that came in and took the whole back area, it was so crammed there were lines for the bathroom. Over all I had a good time. I really like the music too just know it gets very busy in there. The employees I would say were hit or miss. The ones that were great though I really liked. Just seem like the ones who didn't really give attention to customers or were kind of rude seemed like they didn't wanna be there.
