Brooklyn cafe's day by day haha I now work in BK & want to try the coffee spots near me - it's essential. This was the only spot open nearby past 3 so I took a short drive over. The outdoor dining was SO cute and it was sunny so I took advantage. I went inside, the girl behind the counter greeted me & told me to scan the menu! I got a regular iced latte oat milk, while my friend got their lavender latte! Both delicious! We enjoyed it "to stay". I noticed there was a rush after us and she was the only one working so they might be understaffed but she was quick! A lot of the drink options looked amazing, like the turmeric latte & then I noticed they had a breakfast menu & pastries towards the side. The coconut yogurt is calling my name -- which I will def be trying when I come back!

I love this place! Food is good and people are nice. I have one issue that I'm just adding here in hopes the management sees it. The to go sauce containers are lcomically small. When you eat in you get a fair amount of pico and salsa. But this is just not enough lol and it's not even filled up. It's such a cheap part of the meal but so important for the eater lol it doesn't make sense to skimp on this part. If ur reading this doing to go: Ask for extra sauce!

Very disappointed. Online prices says $9. I ordered over the phone to find out in person I had to pay $13.61!.

Very disappointed. Online prices says $9. I ordered over the phone to find out in person I had to pay $13.61! Huge difference, and was not able to honored the price I first seen online. And tiny portions. Horrible. Also no one was able to allow me to speak to the manager Carolina . Horrible service.

The food could use some more seasoning but the cherry blossom latte is 10/10 delicious! Friendly staff, cute indoor and outdoor seating available. Good place to do work.

Hello, weekend! I am in the mood for BRUNCH. Tikal Cafe is a Bushwick-based small business rooted in a plant-based lifestyle, serving vegan/vegetarian dishes daily. It is a quaint space to refuel or rehydrate with indoor and outdoor seating. After glancing at the menu, I was pacing back and forth, figuratively. I bet you're wondering which dishes caught my eye. Take a look at this mouth-watering list, which is only a fraction of what they offer: *Acai Bowl Açaí Puree, Pitaya, Banana, Seasonal Fruits, Homemade Granola, Chia Seeds and Oat Milk. *Egg sandwich Scrambled Eggs, mozzarella cheese, Chipotle Aioli, Smashed Avocado, and Spinach served on a house-baked Croissant. *Waffles (GF) Rice Flour Waffles, Mixed Berries, Strawberry Butter, Coconut Yogurt, and Maple Syrup. *Tikal's Burger Impossible Patty served on Toasted Brioche with Mozzarella, Tomatoes, Lettuce, and Chimichurri Served with Roasted Potatoes. Plus, they offer pastries, smoothies, alcoholic beverages, hot/cold drinks. I smiled at the sign reminding customers that this was not a fast food establishment and to be patient because all meals are cooked to order. Who can complain when what awaits you is fresh, wholesome, and nutritious? Based on a neighbor's recommendation, I chose the burger. I have no idea how anyone could add a slice of avocado or an egg (tempted to try it for myself lol) when it was already tall and hearty. I love a juicy patty, and the pairings worked well. It was a great first impression, and I hope to visit again soon.

Ordered from here through Grubhub and it was pretty good. Egg sandwich- very large portion on a freshly baked croissant. Tasty. Green juice- heavy kale flavor, good only if you're super into green juices..a little much for me Berry muffin- good but it was the size of a cupcake, not worth the price Seasonal fruit- decent amount, fruit was fresh

So happy to have a place with horchata lattes nearby. A little pricey but definitely a nice place to grab some food and also work with laptops. Definitely worth it :) The lentil soup was a perfect portion size and with great flavor along with the perfect amount of spice. Come check out this neighborhood joint for a special lunch or fancy coffee!

Really wanted to like this spot and support a local business, but left disappointed. Came on a Sunday morning, wasn't very busy, but it took 30 minutes (!) to get an iced coffee and a hot drink and then 45 minutes for an açai bowl and an avocado toast. It seemed like our order kept getting forgotten since everyone else was getting their food...especially the Uber delivery guys No one really checked in on us, so we finally just asked for our food to go. Food wasn't very spectacular especially for the prices. Maybe they still need to figure out a system that works, so if you decide to stop in for a coffee or food make sure you don't have anywhere else to be for a minute.

I love Tikal Café I always go for coffee and brunch, and now they are opening dinner with different options. I had the vegetarian pork sausage Ragu it was the best pasta that I had in the area for a really good price, I'm not vegetarian, but I'm impressed with the veggie ragu, I'm coming back for sure .

I'm so glad I stopped in here for breakfast and just ended up staying the whole day because its a LAPTOP FRIENDLY COFFEES SHOP. With Horchata Lattes? Yes. I will be returning. This cafe is vegetarian, so I have a BLT made with tempeh on sourdough bread. It was good. It wasn't mind blowing, but it was a wholesome, nutritious breakfast. I had that with the pumpkin spice latte. The lovely woman behind the bar told me that they themselves roast the pumpkin and make it into a puree for the latte instead of using syrups. I love that, and you can certainly taste the difference. Great latte. Like I mention, I ended up staying here the entire day. It's a small space, but they do have wifi and comfortable seating. At some point, I tried the Horchata Latte. STAPLE menu item. Delicious. I am coming back for this specifically. I'll probably get the egg sandwich next time because it's on a croissant and the eggs looked so fluffy. Thank you, Tikal for such an amazing day spent here. Great lighting for pictures too :) Side note: it's rather cold in here. Dress warmly (bring a sweater/scarf in case)

Decided to try a new spot in the neighborhood. I was asked for my vaccine card to eat inside. Patrons who came inside to order were not asked to put on a mask, some even waited inside without the mask on. PLUS; they allow animals (dogs?) inside & the cushions were full of dog hair!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a tip maybe vacuum after dogs lay all up on your furniture because other people do not want to swat dog hair off their clothing after they eat !!! The rocket fuel cold brew was not it for me, definitely had a certain taste. I had to ask for more oat milk to drown out the flavor. The avocado toast was just bland no seasoning ... would not recommend to anyone I know ... won't be back to try anything else !

One day, I can ask for a hot chai and it'll be the BEST chai I've ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE. Itll taste so good, I'll even overlook the fact that it was $8. The next day, I'll get the same chai but instead of delicious, it's lukewarm, flavorless, milky, and just mediocre. Can we please have some consistency... I mean, my family has been supporting this spot for years. We can all agree that it's a nice spot. But, you can just tell who the barista was on certain days. There's this woman, who genuinely has NO sense of urgency Whatsoever. This past summer, there was a line of people (including myself) waiting in line to order. Instead of her actually taking peoples orders at the register, this woman decided she was going to have a full blown conversation with the lady who was ordering. My point is: I need more urgency. I need better music because taylor swift and Sabrina carpenter ain't it. I need CONSISTENCY in my chais. I want more wall art in the back area, because it's too mundane. Please do take what I am saying with a grain of salt and seriously. I want this to be the best spot for a chai in BK!!!

It shares a similar vibe and atmosphere to other Brooklyn smoothie and juice shops. And they have the lovely patties like jerk plantain, ackee, and more. I checked the menu ahead of time, but my niece and I found ourselves studying it hard when we walked in. So many options! I decided to get a pumpkin spice patty (new to me), oxtail patty, and protein shake. My niece got a red velvet pastry and acai bowl. My patties and smoothie came out in about 10 minutes, and my niece received her pastry when we paid. The acai bowl took quite a long time, but I did notice that it was advertised as being new on their menu. The gentleman that took our order was literally the only one in the cafe, and quite a line formed after we got settled, so power to him! If you walk to the back of the cafe, you will see a door that says the patio is open, and it was a lovely area to sit at. It was hilarious to hear a rooster nearby, feeling just like the islands. The pumpkin spice patty was delicious, but the oxtail patty stole the show. It was also a Haitian style patty, so it was nice to have that since it's so rare for me. My shake had peanut butter and protein in it, so it was heavy, but it was so yummy. My niece liked her pastry and her soluble, although there was some unblended acai in there. They'll get it right. I would definitely return to this cafe, and I hope they continue to do well!
