I love supporting mom and pop type businesses--especially cafes--but something is missing in here. The pastries are tasty... but the drinks are a hit-or-miss. One day, I can ask for a hot chai and it'll be the BEST chai I've ever had in my ENTIRE LIFE. Itll taste so good, I'll even overlook the fact that it was $8. The next day, I'll get the same chai but instead of delicious, it's lukewarm, flavorless, milky, and just mediocre. Can we please have some consistency... I mean, my family has been supporting this spot for years. We can all agree that it's a nice spot. But, you can just tell who the barista was on certain days. There's this woman, who genuinely has NO sense of urgency Whatsoever. This past summer, there was a line of people (including myself) waiting in line to order. Instead of her actually taking peoples orders at the register, this woman decided she was going to have a full blown conversation with the lady who was ordering. My point is: I need more urgency. I need better music because taylor swift and Sabrina carpenter ain't it. I need CONSISTENCY in my chais. I want more wall art in the back area, because it's too mundane. Please do take what I am saying with a grain of salt and seriously. I want this to be the best spot for a chai in BK!!! read more

Cute cute little spot in Bed Stuy, especially for bagels! Their lox bagel was lovely, and the interior was super cozy with an area in the back with good outdoor seating. The staff was super nice- we accidentally got the wrong thing (totally my bad for asking for it first then changing my mind, lol) and they were super quick to get me the other one. read more

Really cute coffee shop in Bedstuy! I love their iced matcha lattes from here - they're consistently delicious. They also have great bagels! The staff here is really helpful and nice and I always enjoy popping in. There's some seating with good natural light from the windows. Stopped in with a colleague to get some WiFi to take a Teams meeting. The backyard area was close to some nearby construction, so it was a bit distracting but the patio area itself is very nice. Ordered an oat milk chai, which was nice and well spiced. Moved indoors to get away from the construction noise, but was distracted, in a good way by the sound of old school dancehall music. Would recommend if in the area. Idk how the laptop users are actually "doing work" here with such great music playing. I visited this place based on a recommendation and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. When I walked in, there were a few staff behind the counter, but I wasn't acknowledged for a while and ended up watching someone who arrived after me get served first. After finally placing my order, I asked if I could pay with cash. I only had a $50 bill, and I was told they couldn't break it and that I should go across the street to get change. That's not ideal, but I understand that can happen. What made the experience frustrating was the attitude. When I said I didn't want to leave and come back just to complete a simple purchase, I was met with a dismissive "thank you, bye-bye." When I pointed out that this didn't feel like a polite way to handle the situation, I was told that it was "how I came off." Overall, it felt unwelcoming and unnecessarily confrontational for a very simple interaction. Beautiful, light and airy interior filled with seating nooks and a cute, simple menu behind the cashier which includes mostly breakfast sandwiches, tartines, and an assortment of seasonal pastries (those can be seen from the display case). They also have bagels with a la carte toppings and spreads + a beverage cooler with a wide array of drinks -- I got the Natalies OJ + ordered the Badu (pronounced like Erykah Badu) : egg/swiss/chipotle mayo. It is goood but could be great with way more seasoning on the egg. I would ask for a fried egg next time as it was too softly scrambled (imo) which made it all super messy. This has been go to spot for a couple years now! I genuinely enjoy coming here almost every other day, sometimes it's to work sometimes to just kill time and hangout. The interior design and the plants have warm, welcoming feel that makes me comfortable to be there. I've never had a bad coffee, pastry, and if you wanna treat yourself get the Badu with bacon and avocado, I add my own hot sauce, artesian twist the classic BEC. The staff have always been nice and welcoming. My only complaint is it can get quite busy and line gets long, or my usual seat is taken. Other than that, no complaints. If you want a quick coffee or snack, a place to work for a bit, or a spot to hangout or read, this is it. read more

Oh BK you will always have my heart! After a early morning flight and layover in NYC, my beau looked at BK places to eat and explore before heading back on the flight to go out of the country. And this blk owned coffee shop hit the spot. Community vibes are there with the lofi music to boot. I had a great latte with an even better egg sandwich with avocado. There is one community bathroom and my experience with early morning coffee drinkers in corporate did not allow me to brave it after I saw several men head there in unison lol. There is a cute little outdoor area with seats and seats inside that are sparse but a friendly face let us sit indoors after they finished their coffee and paper. I wouldn't suggest this as the place to do your WFH setting or homework etc. though some tried. It is extremely busy and crowded in bursts so you may get a strange look if you have been there since they open lol. Two lattes with oak milk, two breakfast sandwiches ran us $25 dollars which is typical NYC fare and to support the true BK vibe I won't complain. read more

Sadly I've been one of the long time customers who supported this café when they first open in Bedstuy and we're at the first location on Malcolm X Blvd. and then they moved to a bigger spot as I noticed the baristas are not pleasant. They are rude and they make you feel unwelcome if you ask for more of some thing if you paid extra for it and they don't seem nice and it makes my encounters with them. Feel strange and I really enjoy the café, but the staff is not doing well with how they treat customers, I noticed how regulars ( customers ) come in every day,& are treated way nicer. I cannot do that because I work so I come in at my leisure or when I just want to grab a cup of coffee or Matcha and just enjoy my solitude and it really bothers me that I don't get the same service that I observe being given to others when you should be treating ALL customers WHO PAY with respect and kindness. I took away the two stars that originally gave them years ago because when they first opened, they were so kind and attentive and a good vibe. It's been depreciating and that's something that needs to be worked on. There older barista's have snobby attitudes who've been there longer one in particular. read more

Stumbled into this place and wanted to give it a try. Food and drinks are good, but their service ruined it for us. When I approached the counter the person taking our order asked how we were doing and we responded with "good how are you" and they did not respond and looked annoyed. They did not seem like they wanted to serve us, but then when their friends walked in they ignored other customers to talk with them. After all that the lowest tip option was 20% which is not what that service deserved on a to go order. Overall the place is cute, but would not go back with that service. read more

When you walk in it's a vibe, mad open space, ethically ambiguous Brooklynites, dope service from baristas that appear to really care that it probably wouldn't be cool to add cardamom syrup to a Americano after the fact! honestly i've wanted to like this place so badly when i moved to the neighborhood a few months ago. the breakfast burrito is my go to and the people themselves seem friendly. that is to everyone but me-- ive spent so much money here (and ALWAYS tip), and yet every time i pull up to the counter all smiles disappear and hospitality goes out the door. today i went in and ordered, only for my coffee order to be forgotten about completely and me having to remind them. i did not get one apology nor even an acknowledgement to the fact that im also a paying customer and deserve the attention and service im litterally paying for. this place is NOT cheap and yet i ask myself why i put myself thru the horrible feeling i have leaving this place every time. there's too many local spots that deserve your money AND will provide excellent service. i'm a service worker myself and this is NOT how i treat my customers, especially regulars. today was my final straw, i truly can't fathom giving this place one more dollar. do better for your community! read more

By my cousin's recommendation, I came here midday for some coffee and a snack. The interior is decorated nicely, and it's a comfortable, chill environment to get some work done. I got the latte and the roasted bush bagel - both were great! If you're looking to get a bagel here, I'd highly recommend this one. It contains turkey, tomato, avocado, and onions sandwiched between a bagel that is fluffy and soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Best Latte in Bed Stuy? The barista was so incredibly kind; without me having to ask, they showed me in the cup how much simple syrup they'd be using in my drink and asked me to advise. As a painfully particular person who is never quite content with the amount of sugar in my drink - the barista taking this extra step made me overjoyed. It's the little things ! Also made spending what felt like a fortune (I think it was nearly $8) on this drink somewhat worth it. Will def come back and utilize the workspace ! I love this Milk & Pull location specifically. For me personally, all cafes are more or less the same but what really differentiates them is the staff. And I swear they have the kindest staff working here. Every time I've been here (either for pick up or to work), everyone has been super friendly. I usually order a matcha latte, but recently I ordered a chai tea latte. I asked for it to be unsweetened but apparently the chai mix came pre sweetened. I can't have sugar so when I told the barista she was super kind and replaced my latte with a matcha latte. And there have also been times when I'm working there and the owner just gives me free bagels that have been left at the end of the day--so kind Anyway I highly recommend this cafe! Being completely upfront I love coffee shops, and you have to do a lot wrong for me to dislike your cafe. As long as the pastries are stocked and the caffeine's flowing I'll be having a good time. A banging playlist, patient barista and one froth filled cappuccino later and I'm on cloud nine. Milk & Pull was all the above. The environment was very work friendly which is always a win in my book, major bonus points for the quick wifi. The large glass windows let a flood of light spill into the space which wakes up your mood almost as much as the coffee. There was a plentiful amount of seating and my drink was made to perfection. I highly suggest this spot if you enjoy people watching, coffee shops that don't shame you for nesting in the corner, and hipster dominant crowds. read more

Milk & Pull has become a staple in my life due to covid. Ordering online is super easy and they have alternative milks for those of us that are sensitive to the cow-sourced stuff. They've recently reopened their food service menu and they also have pastries available. I've yet to order a bagel but the pecan and cinnamon rolls never disappoint. My typical order of a mocha with oat milk is consistently good. When you order online and tell them you have an order for pickup, they make your drink on the spot so it's served fresh, which is a plus for me. read more

Second-rate croissant. Lots of mist in the air from boiling bagels and presumably baking them, but no bagels inside! We found this perplexing. My wife really wanted a bagel, and fell into something of an argument with the person at the counter, who professed not to understand what it meant to put butter on a bagel. Nice atmosphere in the shop, and the first morning when we went there, the counter person was lovely and friendly. The little outdoor dining area behind the shop was quite pleasant. We just could not understand a place that advertised bagels that didn't show any, and did not seem to want to sell them! Quite a mystery. read more
