Stopped in with my family to grab a latte while taking a walk with my dog. Food : Cannot rate didn't try any food during this visit. Service: 2/5 We were not greeted upon entering and ordering drinks The barista was not friendly at all & appeared to not be paying attention to our orders as we had to reiterate our orders a few times. The barista charged me extra for a flavor to be added to my latte which I barely tasted and made it an issue to give me more to sweeten it. This I found very absurd and off putting. He was very standoffish and made me and my family feel uncomfortable. Ambiance : 2/5 very basic. Nothing to rave about. Local neighborhood coffee shop. Small space with some seating. You're able to work from there , pretty quiet but tight inside. I'd only sit and drink my tea and leave. Overall I don't think I'd come back anytime soon. nothing about this experience makes me want to return. They need to do better with customer service and hire better baristas. Here for a visit and was walking home from the dog park when we decided to stop for coffee. Had an oat bagel and a pecan topped bun. Oh so delicious! No other place has great bagels than New York - call me biased, but the toasted oat bagel with cream cheese from Little Roy confirms it! I'm hoping to come back soon! I stopped by while in the area I searched for cafes on yelp and then looked for ones that had wifi mentioned in reviews. I was also peckish and little Roy coffee hit the trifecta. The kitchen was closed by the time I got there but they still had pastries which was yummy. I was here on 8/22 around 2 pm. What I ordered was good but the person who served me / rung up the order was so beyond rude. I don't think iv ever really left a review about service but this one was so bad. I ordered a macha latte - she then goes "okay so hot latte with whole milk" (mind u its like 80 degrees out) I'm like oh no sorry I meant to say iced but yes whole milk. Mind you im about 30 seconds into my order like she haven't even put it in yet. And then she cuts me off with her hands up and goes in litterlly the rudest tone "your going to have to tell me what you want" then I look back at my friend who is looking at me like did she really just say that. Then I get my drink and I'm like omg why was she so mean and my friend tells me the same thing happened to her when she ordered. But she was very nice and chatty to some hot guy. Anyways then someone else orders and as she's making my iced drink the person goes oh did I say I wanted it iced I forgot to ask for it iced and the barista cuts her off and goes "this Isent even yours" I have never interacted with such a rude barista idk what was up. LOVE! This cafe is so cute and it's in the PERFECT location by the park. It can get busy because of its location, and sometimes people bring their dogs inside and while I love dogs, they take up a lot of space. There is also a few tables inside, but I opt for walking the park after visiting. The coffee is good, a bit pricy but sadly coffee in NY is always pricy. Just wish the cups were bigger for the price. Barista was super rude to me for some reason? They were perfectly friendly to the person in front of me and then I asked for something and they just stared at me, pretended not to hear me, and then told me they couldn't make the drink I asked for (which is fine, I ordered a different one) but then they overfilled the cup so it spilled everywhere and blamed me for making a mess. The drink was mid (probably because it was mostly ice). If you don't mind having dog hairs in your food this is the place for you, every time I try to come and enjoy my coffee here it always seems to be a dog or two scratching themselves, wagging their tails. Everyone is touching the dogs then going back to their coffee like nothing! Absolutely disgusting!! This is not normal and it's very unhygienic! I really want to like this place. Little Roy is a sleek and cute lil coffee shop on a block with several other sleek and cute lil coffee shops. Right now it's very much a takeaway spot as there is no outdoor seating set up and there are rarely any bites to speak of. You're really coming here for the coffee though and maybe to ogle the variety of plants they have in the shop. My $4 cold brew had a very clean taste to it and had me feeling zippy after just a few sips, which is exactly the effect I was going for. Cold brew FTW. read more

Cute little neighborhood coffee joint! It's super small and cozy but despite that, there's always a few people sitting inside with their laptops working. It's right next to a park so something people will bring their dogs inside. Have yet to try the food here but the pastries in the window look tasty. The coffee is also great! This coffee shop is one of my neighborhood favorite! I go there multiple times a week and they never disappoint. I used to go there only for the coffee that is delicious (plus if you like variety of milk and milk substitute they have a lot of choice). There cappuccino especially is my favorite ($3.75). I recently tried there food and it was so yummy!! I tried the shakshuka ($9) so flavorful! The place itself let natural light in, with the floor to ceiling windows and a nice view of the park which is a great deal in the city with usually dark or artificially lit places. It is also a pretty quiet which for all of the above makes it one of my favorite place in the neighborhood to go sit down to get some work done. read more

My favorite coffee shop in the PLG area. We have had hot and iced coffees and the matcha latte. All were of the highest quality. Unfortunately there are some places in this area that charge premium prices for coffee but use inferior coffee or prepare it poorly. This is not the case at Little Roy. Really nice and knowledgable staff to boot! The pastries and food they have are good, but I hope they expand their selection for the future. read more

Tried calling to request a refund or remake of my lattes but the number on the profile is inactive. I ordered two macha lattes w Oat milk and they were significantly watered down.. half water and a the rest oat milk. They taste terrible. If I am paying for a latte and oat milk thats what I expect. Hot water is only required to mix the matcha powder and is not suppose to be half the drink. You wouldnt do it for a regular coffee latte. I would like a credit for the future of refund. read more
