Was disappointed and underwhelmed by this place. Gave this place a try because of the good reviews, but was disappointed! I got the Yerba mate and grilled cheese sandwich with three cheeses. The Yerba mate didn't have much of a taste. The Yerba mate you get from the super markets, actually tastes way better. The grilled cheese sandwich was ok, nothing special. It was $7, and you can make the same grilled cheese at home that costs $3-$4 to make. The decor/ambience of the store felt like a flea market, with a bunch of random and eclectic furniture thrown in together. The art was funky, with a lot of color and animals on it. The place had a bunch of punk rocker type customers in it. This place didn't really give me the "community feel" that it was going for. The customer service was ok, the guy who served me was mediocre. It wasn't the best or the worst. It's located in a quiet residential area, about a 10 minute walk from the train station. The barista was giving me and my friend attitude the whole time, didn't even say hello to us. When me and my friend got our drinks, they both tasted like straight up drip coffee and had coffee grounds on the bottom + barely any flavor. I paid seven dollars for my large and it tasted terrible. Lots of other great coffee shops around Dolly's is a 20 minute walk and is so much better. read more

Very friendly cafe. The walls feature art from local artists. They frequently have live musicians and DJs. One evening, I got a reading from a tarot card reader that was sitting by the door. What an place! The first thing you'll notice walking in is the eclectic decor. Tons of handmade drawings, abstract art, and fun furniture pieces! It's actually a surprisingly huge space, and there are plenty of tables and free wifi to do some work or study in! Was immediately greeted by a friendly barista upon entering. The menu had your classic coffees and bakery options, and the place also had a separate fridge for canned/bottled drinks, as well as a ton of cart snacks and desserts available for purchase. I was feeling hungry and got a breakfast sandwich -- it came with 2 huge eggs, tomato, spinach, and the barista threw in free vegan cheese! It came on a multigrain bagel that had dried cranberry pieces, and that was a lovely touch to the savory sandwich. The eggs were probably unseasoned -- which wasn't a huge deal, but it gave a largely egg white taste. The sandwich was toasted and a nice portion! My friends got the medium flat white and large americano, both of which were tasty and quoted "you can tell these are high quality beans." Located off the beaten path in Brooklyn, the Caffeine Underground is known as the first cafe in NYC that offers CBD drinks. Intrigued and curious, we came here on a Saturday afternoon to check it out. It was nice and cozy inside, and to my surprise, not only did this place offer CBD drinks, but it also offers reiki twice a month from 5pm to 8pm, as well as Kundalini yoga, Vinyasa yoga and Yin / Yang yoga Monday thru Thursday. We ordered the CBD latte and the drinks were smooth. At around 6:30pm, there was a live musician, so the place was a bit loud by then. But nevertheless, this is an overall well rounded cafe where it's appropriate to bring your laptops in and do some work, chill and hangout with friends, relax with regular or CBD drinks, as well as an opportunity to do some yoga & reiki. This place is definitely a gem. If you're located outside of this neighborhood, it's recommended to take the J train as opposed to the M train because the walk from the M train station is very quiet and it will take you past some funeral homes, and churchyards, etc. Check in on Yelp for 10% off anything. read more

Super duper cute coffee shop with wifi for unlimited working! My favorite part about this cafe is there is uniformity. All chairs are different. All tables different. The grungy type feel it gives me makes me feel most comfortable. They have event nights which I COINCIDENTALLY fell into. It was tarot night. I was the first person there at 5pm. Then all the sudden there were people trickling in having their cards pulled. I didn't catch the owners ( I thinks was the owner ) name but he was very nice. However it baffles me how we purchase 2 beverages an hour ago- a rush comes in and everyone else gets their drinks before us. After a 25-30 min rush we follow up regarding our drinks. We still don't receive them until an hour after we ordered. unacceptable considering over 20 people received their items before us. We took a long Uber ride here to try out the cbd coffee. We have been reading up on the oils and it's properties for pain and nerves. So this fit right in. The place is relaxing very non Starbucks and that's in a good way. We're sitting on a comfortable couch relaxing slipping on our coffee like it should be. Som nibbles if you're hungry. We also got a small package of coffee to try out at home. So far we are nice and mellow. The guy at the coffee bar is very nice and knowledgeable about the oils. At first I thought maybe he was having a bad day, but after many many days of this I've realized he may just hate me. I've brought in other people with me to see if he's equally as rude to them, but he's always nice, just rude to me. I have no idea what I did to him!!!! I always tip and am nice. Bushwick and Bed Stuy are filled to the brim with local coffee shops where everyone knows each other and there is a big community feeling. The problem at those coffee shops: you never ACTUALLY get work done because you're too busy chatting up all your homies. At Caffeine Underground, there's always a large empty table, fairly good WiFi, and quiet atmosphere during the day. With the help of the Variety coffee they serve, I get my whole to do list done here. The coffee, by the way, is plenty decent! It's not super cozy or cute, so it's not the vibe if you want to meet up with friends or a date. Come alone, do work, and maybe chat up the baristas for a few minutes. read more

Yes if you are here for the cannabis infused coffee, this is it, NYC they are here for us. Staff is friendly & very helpful with the million questions you might have before sinking yourself in a latte. The coffee shop is spacious with a few tables, WiFi available & board games? On my first visit I did ask around to those that have been there before & have tried the famous cannabis infused latte. All feedback was the same & good. Others told me that they have this mellow feeling that takes over them. I on the other hand was electrify, I'm not a big talker but I am a coffee drinker. But coffee alone does not make me so talkative. On every occasion that I've had me a cup, it slowly hits me & boom and this talking bomb that can't seem to keep any thoughts inside my head LOL. I believe it's the mixture of the caffeine with the oils. I was both clam but ready to over my day! They even sell the goodies, candy & coffee. But one thing I cannot tolerate is a barista who's mad at the world, preparing my simple hot drip coffee order as though I am the center of his rage. Ok so I went down there to get my stuff lol. I met the owner who was very informative plus in my age zone which was extra bonus. Anyway sat in the cafe had a CBD coffee with my hubby.
